Despite a summer swoon for tech stocks as investors fret over capex spending at the likes of Meta (META), Alphabet (GOOG), and Amazon (AMZN), tech still looks to be the place to be when ******* yzing fund inflows.
Tech stocks are on track for a yearly inflow of $216 billion, according to new data from Bank of America Global Research (see chart below). The figure dwarfs the total annual inflows of each year dating back to 2015.
The Nasdaq Composite's (^IXIC) forward price-to-earnings ratio is about 26 times, compared to 20.4 times for the S&P 500 (^GSPC), per Yahoo Finance AlphaSpace ******* ysis. The relative premium for the Nasdaq underscores the sector's higher growth tendencies and helps explain why investors often overweight the sector in their portfolios.
BofA's tech fund inflows data sends a key message to investors: While volatility has entered the ******* e on AI overspending fears, confidence in the long term isn't being lost.
"AI monetization is increasingly visible through backlog and cloud revenues. As elevated backlogs convert into recognized revenue, cloud growth should remain well supported, helping validate rising AI capex, strengthen order coverage, and further ease return on invested capital concerns," JPMorgan strategist Dubravko Lakos-Bujas wrote in a note on Monday.

During her three varsity cross country seasons in the burnt orange of Eldorado, Gianna Rahmer has proven to be invincible.
There's not been a single race contested inside of New Mexico where she hasn't finished first, and in just about every single one of those events, ******* ody has really challenged her supremacy in the Class 5A division. Rahmer's long stride, smiling face and hot pink bandana crossing the finish line all by her lonesome, with no rival in sight, has become a rather standard snapshot in these parts.
Might that scenario change this fall?
The long-awaited arrival of Isla Rahmer is here. The 13-year-old eighth-grader at Hoover Middle School will be running varsity for Eldorado and is poised, several opposing coaches believe, to be a major challenger to her sister's dominance.
Even Gianna, the three-time defending 5A state champion, said she believes she and her sister are the state's two best runners.

After a low-impact walk-through practice at Stevenson High School yesterday, the Chicago Bears were back at Halas Hall for what head coach Ben Johnson called a "big time practice" today. The plan was to simulate the pregame for all the new guys and have plenty of live scrimmage situations, starting with some short-yardage and goal-line packages.
According to CHGO's Adam Jahns, "The first offense had its way in those periods, especially running to the right side behind 58 and 73."
The Bears were among the league's best last year, running right towards guard Jonah Jackson (73) and tackle Darnell Wright (58), and I expect that to continue in 2026.
Jahns also shouted out D'Andre Swift in the short-yardage situations, and he shared that rookie defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg was with the first string during their goal-line/short-yardage packages.
The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs also highlighted the first team offense, saying they "ripped off big plays in short yardage – third and 1 – with runs of 29 and 25 yards and an 8-yard completion off a bootleg." But he also mentioned the other side of the ball, saying the "Defense responded to close things out in end of game scenario."

The case of Mohamed Coulibaly is sending shock waves throughout the NFL, as it relates to many people in the league (including coaches, executives, and players) who actually invested with him, who supposedly did (but actually didn't), and/or who had been solicited to invest.
In a Tuesday item published by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Ximena Conde reports that Coulibaly was "desperately" seeking a $75,000 loan on the day he was found dead in a swimming pool at his home.
Per the report, Coulibaly sought money from a New York man to whom Coulibaly already owed $1 million. He promised a Lamborghini, two gold Rolexes, and a signed Lionel Messi cleat as collateral for a weeklong loan. He told the man that the extra money would make it possible to repay the original $1 million.
Later that day, a driver arrived at the man's house with two fake watches, an unauthenticated signed cleat, and an insurance card and bill of sale for the car.
The man then backed out of the loan.

The Golden State Warriors have put together their teams through a variety of ways over the years, yet few approaches have proven as successful as the NBA draft. More than anything else, the most talented players to represent the Warriors have arrived in Golden State either by being selected directly in the annual draft or through trades executed on that same night.
The Golden State Warriors have taken many of their top stars through the draft, but have also landed a number of notable players over the years as well. From tiny colleges to blue blood programs, these alumni have contributed significantly to the team's roster over the years. So, we chose to take a closer look at which Dubs came from which schools over the years.
So without further ado, let's take a look at every player who has been drafted by the Warriors out of Southwestern College.

NEW YORK (AP) — Late mob boss John Gotti 's reality TV star grandson has reported to federal prison after trying to stave off his sentence on fraud charges by saying he was going to donate a kidney to his ailing mother, Victoria Gotti.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed Tuesday that Carmine Agnello began his 15-month prison term the previous day at the Federal Correctional Institution Fairton in southern New Jersey.
Agnello, who starred on " Growing Up Gotti " in the mid-2000s, was originally scheduled to report to prison in July. But U.S. District Court Judge Nusrat Choudhury agreed to delay that until Sept. 18, saying it would allow enough time to recover from the surgery, presuming that happened by Aug. 10 as Agnello suggested
Agnello's lawyers have said in court filings that Victoria Gotti, the daughter of the former head of New York's Gambino crime family, suffers from chronic kidney disease.
On Monday, though, with no operation in sight, Choudhury ordered Agnello to surrender immediately to federal authorities.

NEW YORK (AP) — Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodón is scheduled to make his second minor league rehabilitation start Thursday night for Double-A Somerset.
Rodón has been on the 15-day injured list since July 3 because of left elbow inflammation. He received multiple shots, including platelet-rich plasma injections, and threw 29 of 48 pitches for strikes last Saturday in his first rehab outing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The left-hander allowed three runs and three hits over 2 2/3 innings against Rochester, with four strikeouts and two walks.
New York manager Aaron Boone has said Rodón could return to the team in a piggyback situation with another starter at first, similar to Max Fried's return from a bruised left elbow on July 22.

Supporters and donors Todd and Michelle Hein were honored at the Indiana State University Athletic Department's sixth annual Tried and True Gala on Friday night.
The couple received the Max and Jackie Gibson Award, given to supporters making a significant impact on Sycamore athletics via service or philanthropic giving.
More than 200 people attended the event at Hulman Center. Among the guest speakers was former ISU basketball standout Jayson Kent, now in the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers system.
The Heins were lauded also by ISU President Mike Godard and Athletic Director Nathan Christensen, family, friends and community members.
"Todd and Michelle have never treated Indiana State as an institution they simply support from a distance, but they have taken an active, personal role in our success," Godard said, according to an ISU news release. "Their financial generosity has been significant, but their greatest impact is found in relationships. They have invested not merely in an athletics department, but in people."

The daily chart for December coffee futures (KCZ26) shows that recent price action has produced a bullish symmetrical triangle pattern and also a bullish pennant pattern. Prices are trending higher, and the bulls have the near-term technical advantage.
Fundamentally, coffee futures prices are being supported by global supply worries amid adverse growing weather in countries like Brazil and Vietnam. At the same time, geopolitical logistical problems have also raised concerns about supplies reaching Western nations. Global demand for coffee is also on the rise.

PLYMOUTH — There will be Friday Night Lights in the tiny village of Plymouth this high school football season.
But it will look a little differently.
Plymouth High School Athletic Director Josh Calame confirmed the Big Red will forego a traditional 11-man football season and play an 8-man schedule in its place.
"We have been officially approved by the Northern 8 Conference as a member for the 2026 season," Calame said.
The Plymouth football program has battled low participation numbers for several seasons in recent years. In 2025, they started the season with 23 rostered players before ending the year around 15 and needing a Week 9 game against Western Reserve to be played under running clock rules from the opening kickoff.

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reportedly split from ex-fiancé Riley Roberts before deciding to freeze her eggs.
Leigh Ann Caldwell, Puck's Chief Washington Correspondent, reported on Tuesday, August 11, that Ocasio-Cortez, 36, and Roberts called it quits, though the timeline remains unclear.
"I was told by a reputable Democratic source about 18 months ago that her engagement was called off," Caldwell shared via X. "AOC stopped wearing her engagement ring several months before that."
TMZ also reported the former couple had gone their separate ways, pointing to Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts last being photographed at the Met Gala in 2021.
However, one user on X pointed out that Manhattan's Black Iron Burger shared a photo of Ocasio-Cortez with an unidentified man in May. Meanwhile, another suggested she and Roberts were recently seen walking together — although the subjects in the photo cannot be identified as it only shows the back of their heads.

Sands Capital, an investment management company, released its "Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund" Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the quarter, global equities rebounded sharply, with the MSCI ACWI posting its strongest quarterly gain since 2020, supported by broad market strength, easing geopolitical tensions, and continued enthusiasm for AI infrastructure. Information technology led the advance, with semiconductor and hardware companies accounting for most of the index's rise. The fund returned 26.9% (net) in the second quarter of 2026. The portfolio benefited from strong gains across memory, software infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other AI-related holdings, although its concentrated exposure to mega-cap chip designers and manufacturers weighed on relative performance as leadership broadened into CPUs, networking, and memory. Vertical software, internet, and financial holdings were modest detractors amid macro concerns and uncertainty over AI disruption. The fund remains focused on critical AI bottlenecks, including compute, memory, manufacturing, networking, and power, while retaining selected businesses that may use AI to strengthen their competitive positions. You can check the fund's top five holdings to learn more about its leading investment ideas for the year.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund highlighted TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) as a new addition. TTM Technologies, Inc. "TTM Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI) is a leading Western manufacturer of highly complex printed circuit boards (PCBs) and integrated electronic subsystems. We believe the company is positioned at the intersection of AI data center growth and defense modernization. TTM is 75 percent sole sourced in U.S. aerospace and defense projects due to lack of domestic competitors and is already booking revenue from Golden Dome. As AI infrastructure evolves to support advanced accelerators, networking equipment, and custom compute architectures, boards require more layers, higher performance, and greater manufacturing precision, creating meaningful pricing uplift versus commoditized PCBs. Dozens of people were killed after a powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake rocked western Colombia early on Monday, Aug. 10.
The earthquake brought down buildings across several cities in the country and left people trapped in the rubble, local authorities said, according to Reuters.
The epicenter of the devastating earthquake was near San Jose del Palmar, in Choco, a sparsely populated province on Colombia's Pacific Coast. Choco Governor Nubia Carolina Cordoba-Curi said there were injuries and significant damage in Quibdo, the provincial capital, and warned residents about potential aftershocks.
Colombia's disaster agency said the shake, which happened at around 7:30 a.m. local time, was felt in nine departments and all 32 departmental capitals. The country's geological service measured the magnitude at 7.4 and said it struck at a depth of 60 miles.
The Aug. 10 earthquake in Colombia comes more than a month after a pair of devastating earthquakes struck Venezuela in late June, causing more than 5,000 deaths and leaving more than 16,000 people injured.

SHANGHAI, Aug 11 (Reuters) - As meteorologists tracked Typhoon Dolphin's path toward China in recent days, a new generation of artificial intelligence weather models worked alongside traditional forecasting systems, highlighting ‌China's emergence as a leading player in the race to improve weather prediction.
Chinese-developed systems, including Shanghai AI Laboratory-developed ‌Fengwu, Huawei's Pangu and Fudan University's **** i, are among a handful of AI forecasting models that researchers say can generate forecasts much faster than conventional systems while matching or surpassing them on some measures of accuracy.
For decades, weather prediction has relied on numerical models running on supercomputers that simulate atmospheric physics. AI models instead learn patterns from vast archives of historical weather observations and can produce forecasts in a fraction of the time. The technology is increasingly being tested during typhoon season in East Asia, where even small improvements in track ‌forecasts can help authorities better prepare for flooding, organise evacuations and manage potential transport disruptions.
The rise of AI weather forecasting has created a new arena of competition among technology companies, research institutes and meteorological agencies, with China emerging as one of the field's leading players.

President Donald Trump in a new interview declined to rule out declaring a national security emergency as a means to try to ******* ert more control over the 2026 midterm elections.
It's merely the latest warning sign that Trump could try to mess with the election not just by baselessly claiming voter fraud and challenging the results afterward — as he did in 2020, leading to a violent riot at the US Capitol — but by trying to unilaterally take control before votes are cast.
In the interview, Wayne Allyn Root of Real America's Voice pitched such a scenario to Trump. He suggested it as an alternative, given the Senate has failed to pass Trump's coveted elections bill, known as the "SAVE America Act."
"If they never get the SAVE America Act done, you have the right to declare a national security emergency for elections," Root said. He added that "if you declare a national security emergency as the president of the United States, they can't challenge it. It can only be overturned by a two-thirds vote by both houses of Congress. So if you do this in the next month, we will get photo ID, proof of citizenship (for voter registration) and a limit to mail-in ballots."
It's at this point that Trump cut Root off and coyly suggested such an option was indeed in play.

President Donald Trump isn't dismissing the possibility that he could declare a national security emergency in an attempt to establish new voting restrictions stalled in the Senate, telling an interviewer that "stranger things have happened."
Trump has spent weeks hammering senators to pass the SAVE America Act, legislation that would greatly restrict mail-in voting and mandate proof of citizenship and a photo ID to cast a ballot.
The bill is Trump's top legislative priority, but it has struggled to attract enough support in the Senate, and lawmakers left for their August recess last week without passing it.
During a Real America's Voice interview with Trump on Aug. 10, host Wayne Allyn Root suggested bypassing the Senate and taking executive action to implement elements of the SAVE America Act, a move that almost certainly would be challenged in court.
"Let me put an idea in your head, OK?" Root said, adding: "You have the right to declare a national security emergency for elections … so if you do this in the next month we will get photo ID, proof of citizenship and a limit to mail-in ballots."

In the NBA, timing is everything.
That goes for not only the intricate and nuanced plays at any given moment on the court, but also the way teams build and at what point they are ready to contend for a **** le.
The upcoming 2026-27 season is a particularly interesting one when it comes to the state of the Western Conference, and it could be a turning point at which the power shifts.
So today we're looking at the power balance in the West, where it stands, how it has shifted over the course of the last few months and what teams will be emerging as new powers. Spoiler alert: The Utah Jazz are one of those emerging powers.
Just about the only sure thing in the West is that there are two teams at the top and then everyone else underneath. There's no doubt that the current ruling forces are the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Brown Advisory, an investment management company, released its "Brown Advisory Global Leaders Strategy" for the second quarter of 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. Brown Advisory's Global Leaders Strategy delivered a net return of 4.6% in the second quarter of 2026, underperforming its benchmark, the MSCI ACWI Net Index, which returned 14.9%. The relative weakness was driven mainly by underexposure to semiconductors and technology hardware, while software, cloud services, and financial holdings also weighed on performance. The strategy benefited from holdings in areas tied to AI infrastructure, with semiconductor exposure and AI-related investments gaining from strong demand. Looking ahead, Brown Advisory sees an attractive environment for active stock-picking, with its ready-to-buy list at its highest level since the COVID-19 period and an estimated 12%-13% average five-year base-case IRR, while maintaining a focus on quality, valuation discipline, and long-term cash-flow generation. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Brown Advisory Global Leaders Strategy Fund highlighted stocks like NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA). NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) is a semiconductor company that develops GPUs and computing platforms powering artificial intelligence, data centers, and high-performance computing. The one-month return of NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) was 10.04% while its shares traded between $164.07 and $236.54 over the last 52 weeks. On August 7, 2026, NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock closed at approximately $218.99 per share, with a market capitalization of about $5.42 trillion.
Brown Advisory Global Leaders Strategy Fund stated the following regarding NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
We initiated a position in Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) in June. Over the last four years, Nvidia has positioned itself as the leader across all parts of the technical component layer within the AI technology stack, including AI silicon, networking, cooling and total rack systems. Meanwhile, it has invested heavily in seeding an AI ecosystem based on Nvidia technology within the application, model and cloud compute layers, helping to drive usage of its infrastructure products. Nvidia has reshaped its business from consumer and professional GPU cyclicality toward data-centre infrastructure platform economics. This has resulted in market expansion far beyond our original base case estimates. As part of our ongoing ***** ysis of semiconductor end market demand across the entire value chain, we observed that every part of the technical infrastructure around Nvidia including optical networking demand, lasers, CPUs, TSMC's capex plans, wafer fab equipment demand, and the contract manufacturers ***** embling Nvidia's racks all implied that demand for Nvidia equipment remains very robust and likely underesti

Brad Pitt claims that Angelina Jolie is refusing to turn over her movie contracts and financial documents.
In a July 31 filing obtained by USA Today, Pitt is asking a judge to force Jolie to produce records of her income. His team requested information on upfront acting fees, brand sponsorships, and profit participation statements from 2017 to 2021, according to TMZ.
Pitt is challenging Jolie's claims that she put her career on ice after their 2016 split. TMZ points out that Jolie starred in films like Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Marvel's Eternals, and Those Who Wish Me Dead following their split.
USA Today reported that while Jolie turned over records for 2020 and 2021, she refuses to provide documents from 2017 through 2019. Her team argues that Pitt has no right to see this information and is asking for more documents than he is entitled to.

Dax Shepard, the actor and Armchair Expert podcast host, has revealed his lifelong attraction to muscular men. He discussed his relationship with fitness and the childhood experiences he believes played a role in this fascination while speaking with Taron Egerton on his podcast on August 10. "I f—— love men's bodies more than anything in the world," Shepard confessed.
The 51-year-old actor and comedian said his interest in muscular bodies started when he was young and was heavily influenced by the action stars he watched on screen. While expressing his fascination, he said, "I love muscle so much."
He then went back to his childhood and remembered watching Conan the Barbarian. This is the movie that helped make Arnold Schwarzenegger a major Hollywood star. "Well, for me, I'll explain it as like being born in '75, and it was like my first drive-in movie was Conan the Barbarian," Shepard said.
Referring to Sylvester Stallone, he added, "I was just like, wait a minute, a man can look like a gorilla, and then Stallone was at his height. It was like the birth of muscles."
For Shepard, his fascination with muscles eventually became connected to his childhood. "I grew up in a house with a violent stepdad beating everyone up," he revealed. He explained that seeing Schwarzenegger's powerful physique made him feel that being strong could protect him. "So, when I saw Conan, I was like, 'Oh, if I look like that, I got no problems for the rest of my life.' So that just, that was like, 'Yeah, … If I was Conan, I got no problems," Shepard said.

Erling Haaland was among the first Manchester City players to reach out to Enzo Maresca and offer his congratulations upon succeeding Pep Guardiola. However, the Norwegian striker is unlikely to be leading the side out too frequently under the new manager — and it's precisely because he finds the back of the net so often.
Haaland was handed the City captaincy following January 2025, when he put pen to paper on a new deal tying him to the club for nearly a decade. The 26-year-old has developed into a genuine leader over the past season and remains one of just a handful of players still at the club from their Treble-winning campaign three years ago.
New boss Maresca will be leaning on Haaland not only for his presence in the dressing room but also for his prolific output in front of goal. A greater emphasis will be put on getting the ball wide so that City's wide players can beat their markers and deliver into the box, which should generate even more scoring opportunities for the No.9, as per the Manchester Evening News.
