Manchester City began the game dominating possession, however it was Coventry City who should have taken the lead inside the opening eight minutes. First, Abdukodir Khusanov played a ball back to Gianluigi Donnarumma on his own goal line. The Italian had a poor first touch which almost trickled over the goal line to give Frank Lampard's side the lead in the 6th minute.
However, two minutes later, Coventry City should have taken the lead. Antoine ****** yo played a dangerous ball from the right into midfield which Coventry City striker Taiwo Awoniyi intercepted. David Raya is set to continue in goal behind a back four of Ben White, Gabriel Magalhães, Cristhian Mosquera and Riccardo Calafiori. Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard are expected to anchor midfield, with Martín Zubimendi the likely third member of the trio ahead of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Bukayo Saka and Christos Tzolis, both of whom Arteta has used in wide areas that double as auxiliary full-back cover, are set to support Kai Havertz in attack, with both players having scored or contributed directly to goals in the win over Coventry.

Coventry boss Frank Lampard told BBC Sport: "For a game we controlled a lot of the possession we were too slow with it. Against a back five and a team who want to slow you down.
"We created more problems than Man Utd did. But it wasn't like us. Normally we're more aggressive. There's some serious lessons to learn.
"[Missing] Quality as well. You have to work towards quality. It was too much slow play from us. It's hard against a back five. When you cross they have players to deal with it.
"The Premier League brings it with feeling around it, it's a step up. It's a mental side for the players - I want them to get over it. They have to get to grips with it. We have to get there quickly.
"You talk about experience but it's moments on the pitch. The counter attack [goal] was our corner, you have to stop it by any means. Those details are crucial."

Kai Havertz has laid down the gauntlet to **** nal's rivals by insisting the Premier League champions want "to win everything".
