After a slow start to the season, there would have been hope that this fixture against Nottingham Forest would be the moment things started to click for Tottenham Hotspur. Instead, Spurs had to settle for a goalless draw as their wait for a first Premier League goal of the season continued.
Roberto De Zerbi made three changes from the loss against Newcastle United, with Destiny Udogie and Savio getting their first league starts of the season, and Conor Gallagher returning to the XI in favor of Mateus Fernandes. Forest made one change, as Liam Delap was preferred to Igor Jesus up front.
This first half was full of physicality but not much quality. Both sides struggled to create clearcut scoring opportunities, with set pieces and long-range efforts the only real threats from either side. There was a sort of symmetry to the chance creation, though, as both Spurs and Forest saw attackers in behind one-on-one with the keeper only for the attacker to fail to capitalize and the referee to also call the play back. The club from Turkey's northeast announced on Tuesday that they had begun "negotiations" with Salah, who left Liverpool after nine seasons and as many trophies with the Reds.

Barcelona have confirmed they will take on Al Ahly in the Joan Gamper Trophy ahead of the start of the 2026-27 campaign.
The Catalans will face the Egyptian side at the Camp Nou on Wednesday 19 August at 8.00pm local time in the club's traditional curtain-raiser.
Al Ahly will become the first Egyptian club – and the first African side – to take part in the Joan Gamper Trophy but have faced Barcelona before.
The two sides first played in a friendly in 1961 and then met again in 2007 as part of Al Ahly's centenary celebrations.

The Anfield outfit were destined to have a bit of a re-jig before the 2026-27 season fully kicked off but, ******* ody could have expected three of their first-team regulars to have already packed their bags and exited.
This had led to the Reds severely lacking depth among their ranks with the club just one injury crisis away from being in a worse position than they were last term.
The worst thing about the exits of Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson is that none of them earned Liverpool any money as they all left as free agents with Salah even terminating his deal to get away from L4.
Konate and Robertson have both already sorted their next destinations out but, the Egyptian King's future still isn't decided.
