The world is yet to find out just what kind of havoc the tandem of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo can wreak on the basketball court together as Miami Heat teammates. But the rest of the NBA has a clear reason to be scared of the duo, which is already building chemistry on the court.
Miami recently shared a video showing the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Antetokounmpo and Adebayo going down to work in the gym together.
The Heat pulle off the biggest trade of the NBA offseason, as they won the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes. They sent a huge package composed of Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakučionis, the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, a couple of future first-round picks, a pick swap and a future second-rounder to the Milwaukee Bucks in July in order to acquire Antetokounmpo and veteran power forward Bobby Portis.
"The Greek Freak" will turn 32 years old in December, but he is very much still at the top of his game. In what turned out to be his final season with the Bucks, the 10-time NBA All-Star averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 ***** ists, while shooting 62.4 percent from the field. He only played in 36 games as he was limited by injuries, but he's healthy now and should be out on the court when the Heat make their 2026-27 NBA season debut.

On a cold November morning, designer Isaac Mizrahi gets up, leaves his apartment, and trudges to the corner newsstand to pick up a copy of Women's Wear Daily. It's the day after Mizrahi's Spring/Summer 1994 show, and the ink on the reviews is still wet. Reading from the pages, he quotes, "'His usually great color sense failed him, his fabric sense failed him, and certainly, his sense of how a modern woman dresses after 8 p.m. failed him." The verdict is withering. Mizrahi, one of the great artists of '90s ready-to-wear fashion, has been tossed out. Disgraced. Lightly "cancelled," as some might call it these days.
Douglas Keeve's sublime 1995 documentary, "Unzipped," follows Mizrahi in the aftermath of a train wreck, piecing his reputation back together with his next collection, attempting to make something beautiful from the rubble. We find Mizrahi's world in grayscale, drained of color in the wake of critical and cultural failure. Then, the opening notes of Sandra Bernhard's 1994 cover of Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" cue the pigmentation, cascading over bright images of models in fittings, garments hanging from racks, and plenty of DayGlo faux furs. In her version, Bernhard alters the lyrics to pay tribute to Sylvester, whose untimely death left an immense legacy. "Sylvester, sister," Bernhard coos, "You were so beautiful, you were so fragile, you were so . . . real."
But just before Bernhard finishes the word, the song fades to silence, as if to say that realness — genuine authenticity in your life and work, at the cost of criticism — will always be snuffed out before it can be fully appreciated. That is the price of beauty. What is up must always come down.

After years in cinematic obscurity — the film hasn't been readily available outside of the eBay market in decades — "Unzipped" will return to theaters later this month, with a loving 4K restoration from Janus Films, just as another fashion-world controversy is heating up. Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Museum of Art declared it would no longer proceed with its Costume Institute's upcoming exhibition honoring John Galliano, scheduled to debut next year. When the scrapped "John Galliano: Horizons" was announced in July, the exhibition was immediately met with an outpouring of criticism. Detractors accused the museum of being tone deaf, citing a 2011 video of Galliano going on a drunken antisemitic and racist rant at a Paris bar, for which Galliano was promptly ousted from his spot as creative director at Dior. Following the video surfacing, Galliano apologized, went to rehab, and, over the last few years, experienced a brand resurgence that some would call a whitewashing.

GameStop (GME) has more than a meme-stock reputation riding on its upcoming earnings report. The video game and collectibles retailer has been battling a shrinking core business, with sales declining in each of the past four fiscal years. At the same time, concerns about share dilution and the company's ability to drive sustainable retail growth have continued to weigh on investor sentiment. Still, GameStop's preliminary fiscal 2026 second-quarter results, released on Aug. 31, may have given investors something to watch.
The company expects quarterly net income of $290 million to $310 million, almost double the $168.6 million reported a year earlier. But there's a catch. The stronger bottom line isn't being driven by a rebound in game sales. Instead, investment gains, particularly from GameStop's stake in eBay (EBAY), are doing much of the heavy lifting, while quarterly sales are expected to decline to $780 million-$800 million from $972.2 million a year ago.

The Miami Heat are known as a storied franchise in the NBA. Under Pat Riley's influence in the '90s, the "Heat Culture" became the team's foundation and philosophy. Although Riley transitioned to a front-office role later in his career, Miami's philosophy remained as Erik Spoelstra took over as head coach in 2008.
Although the Miami Heat were competitive under Pat Riley, the Heat became a different monster under Erik Spoelstra. From managing superstars like Dwyane Wade and LeBron James to nurturing the newer generation of stars like Bam Adebayo, Spoelstra has been one of the most impactful coaches in NBA history.
Currently, Erik Spoelstra also serves as head coach for the USA men's national team ahead of the 2028 Olympics, which will mark the end of his three-year cycle in the role. Coincidentally, 2028 will also mark 20 years since Spoelstra took over the Heat head coaching role, and according to Heat insider Ira Winderman, it may be the ideal opportunity for him to make a move. In a wide-ranging interview with Fadeaway World, Powell expressed disappointment of not being offered the opportunity to return for a second season with the Heat, other than if he accepted a minimum-scale contract.
"I know everybody was hoping I was coming back. Then there was stuff coming out about me possibly not being in Miami. They never came to the table," Powell said of his free agency. "So Chicago came to the table along with a few other teams to sit down and talk with my agents just about what the best deal is and what is the outlook on the future for me and my basketball career."
Powell, 33, wound up with a two-year, $44 million contract with the Bulls, with only the first season guaranteed, making it possible he could be relocated before February's NBA trade deadline.

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo discussed the current status of his relationship with LeBron James after the 41-year-old snubbed Miami for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Adebayo's first public comments after James' decision included him sharing his top-five players of all time, while naming four of LeBron's past opponents.
However, the center's comments about his relationship with James indicate they still have a good bond with each other.
Adebayo was being interviewed at a youth basketball camp, where he broke the silence on his relationship with James after Miami's recruitment of him failed.
"I'm cool with Bron. I consider Bron like a brother, honestly. We've been Olympic teammates, but even before that, we've always had down-to-earth conversations. I'm happy for him. You want what's best for somebody. That's really how you go from there"
