St. Paul forgot to bring their bats Saturday night, and Omaha starter Henry Williams was in no mood to help the Saints find them.
Despite entering the night with a 7.03 ERA, Williams dominated the visitors' lineup, allowing St. Paul just three hits and one walk, striking out five over six shutout innings as the Saints fell to the Storm Chasers 4-0.
The Saints managed just four singles overall against Williams and two relievers. Hendry Mendez was the only St. Paul batter to reach base twice, recording the team's lone walk to go with his base hit.
Matt Bowman (2-4, 4.81 ERA), who relieved Saints starter Ricky Castro to start the fourth, was saddled with the loss after giving up the game's first run on a sacrifice fly in the first of his two innings of work. He allowed three hits and with the one earned run.
With the win, Omaha (51-55) took a 3-2 series lead in their six-game set with St. Paul (60-46). The Saints look to even the series in Sunday's finale, with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 p.m. Trent Baker (3-3, 5.89) take to the hill for the guests, while the Storm Chasers have yet to announce a starter to oppose him.

Tavius Robinson belongs in that final category. The third-year linebacker has steadily developed into an important part of the defensive front. Baltimore's top defensive ***** istant, Anthony Weaver, believes one trait separates him from many players at his position.
It's not just his physical ability. It's his willingness to do whatever the defense asks, and do so with a team-first mindset.
Following a third Ravens training camp practice, one the defense coincidentally dominated, Coach Weaver spoke with media members. He was asked about Robinson's ability to generate pressure both on the edge and from inside alignments. Weaver made it clear the Ravens view him as far more than a traditional outside linebacker. They view him as the embodiment of unselfishness and constant work ethic.

That cut San Francisco's lead to 10-7 and gave Dallas something tangible from a first half in which the 49ers had largely dictated the game.
The matchup changed when Young was knocked out after taking multiple sacks from the Dallas defence. He had completed seven of 13 passes for 83 yards and the early touchdown before Elvis Grbac took over. The San Francisco 49ers brought back wide receiver Deebo Samuel on a one-year deal worth up to $7 million yesterday. Their offseason has been a case of "keeping up with the Joneses" in the NFC West. The Seattle Seahawks are preparing to defend their Super Bowl LX ****** le. The Los Angeles Rams made one of the biggest trades in the history of the sport for Myles Garrett. From Seattle's perspective, though, this should only make them even more excited about where they're at right now.

Swansea City ended their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 home victory over Leganes courtesy of a long-range strike from new recruit Joseph Opoku.
Ghana international Opoku, making just his second appearance since joining from Zulte Waregem, finished coolly from 35 yards after Leganes keeper Raul Fernandez had come out of his area.
Opoku's precise effort gave Swansea a deserved win as they dominated possession for long spells against their Spanish second-tier opponents.
When the home side did lose the ball, Vitor Matos' desire to play a pressing game was in evidence as his players hunted to win it back.

The NFL world continues to wonder whether 10-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Aaron Donald will return to the Los Angeles Rams after retiring in 2023.
Donald has been going through an intense workout regimen to determine whether he's ready for another full season, and on Friday, Rams head coach Sean McVay provided an update that isn't great news for the San Francisco 49ers or the rest of the NFC West.
McVay said there won't be a definitive update on Donald's potential return until the Rams report to training camp facilities in Woodland Hills, but he noted that if there's an indication of whether the veteran defensive lineman will return, "it's trending upward."
"Things are going in the right direction," McVay said via Michael J. Duarte of The California Post. "If there's an arrow, it's trending upward."
Donald dominated the entire league throughout his career, but the 49ers got a firsthand look at his impact twice a year as NFC West rivals.

Chivas at times dominated but were only able to get a 1-1 tie against Puebla. Chivas was the better side from the start but their scoring troubles continued as they were only able to get a single goal against a Puebla side that looked to defend and counter from the start, giving away most possession. Both teams are going to the Leagues Cup before returning to Liga MX. Puebla will travel to Pachuca in their return while Chivas plays against Santos in Torreon.
The 1st half started with Chivas coming out with their best 11 including Brian Gutierrez from the start. Armando Gonzalez got into the area but his right footed shot would go wide. Roberto Alvarado got off a great left footed shot that was blocked by Puebla's goalkeeper, Ricardo Gutierrez. He would leave the ball there for Gonzalez go get a close range header but Gutierrez made a fantastic save to stop him from a sure goal. Gonzalez got into the area and his left footed shot was blocked by Gutierrez but it bounced off Juan Pablo Vargas and looked like it was going to be an own goal but it hit the post. Chivas was completely dominating the match but the score remained scoreless. Against the run of play, Emiliano Gomez got into the area and get past a defender before getting off a left footed shot that Chivas' goalkeeper Raul Rangel blocked but left there for Eduardo Mustre to get off a left footed shot in the net to score and give Puebla the surprising 1-0 lead. It was the first real chance for the home side and it was a bad mistake from Rangel to give up the lead. From outside the area, Ruben Gonzalez got off a right footed shot that went wide. Facundo Almada made a run into the area but his right footed shot went wide. Daniel Aguirre made a good move in the area and got off a left footed shot that went just wide. A cross into the area was headed by Bryan Alonso Gonzalez but it was cleared by Puebla's defense. Alonso Gonzalez got off a left footed shot inside the area that Gutierrez saved. The halftime whistle blew and although Chivas had played better, it was Puebla who had the lead at the break.

Contech giant Procore has entered an agreement to acquire DroneDeploy, a prominent robotics and visual intelligence platform that's used in over 180 countries, according to a Wednesday announcement. Procore will acquire the firm for $845 million in cash, subject to customary purchase price adjustments.
When the acquisition closes later this year, Procore and DroneDeploy will sell one another's solutions to their client base, Ajei Gopal, president and CEO of Procore, said in the announcement.
The combination will create a veritable ocean of construction data. By pairing the two tech companies' capabilities, builders will be able to use cameras, drones and robots to regularly evaluate jobsites and automatically initiate appropriate responses securely, compliantly and in context, per the announcement.

The Chicago Bears were back for the third practice of training camp on Friday, which welcomed fans to Halas Hall for the first open workout of the summer.

Quarterback Caleb Williams is off to a hot start this training camp, and his connection continues to grow with his returning cast of weapons in Colston Loveland, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III. Hundreds of fans stood silent at the third hole of Detroit Golf Club as the sun baked down on the morning's most-watched golfer.
Cameron Young stepped into the box, shuffled his legs four times and raised his driver into his trademark pause before bombing a ball down the fairway.
"It just sounds different coming from him," a spectator said.
After comparatively struggling through his first round, going 1-under on Thursday, Young dominated the second round of the 2026 Rocket Classic on Friday, July 31, at Detroit Golf Club.
He went 9-under for the day, tying the course record of 61 (the second golfer in as many days to do so), and finished at 10-under in a tie for first at the end of the morning session with Patrick Cantlay, who shot a 4-under in the second round.

Northern Ireland picked up their first netball win at the Commonwealth Games in their final game as they secured a resounding 78-39 victory over Trinidad and Tobago at the Hydro.
The win for the Warriors, who finished bottom of Pool A, ensures they finish the competition in 11th place with Trinidad and Tobago, who finished bottom of Pool B, ending up 12th.
NI dominated the first quarter to lead 19-10 and really took control in the second, scoring 21 times to move 40-18 ahead.
The Warriors pressed on after the half-time break and extended their advantage to 60-28 after the third quarter.
The final quarter was a bit closer, with NI winning it 18-11 to end a tough Games campaign on a high.

But even though the Kansas City Chiefs will be playing in a glitzy, $3 billion dome in 2031, owner Clark Hunt acknowledged the difficulty in landing a Super Bowl because six other teams are also slated to have new stadiums by then.
Kansas City's hosting of the World Cup, though, bolstered the city's chances.
"Not only did we pull it off, we dominated," Chiefs president Mark Donovan said. "That puts us on a different level now."

NEW DELHI: Ajinkya Rahane never sought the spotlight. In an era dominated by classy stroke-makers and larger-than-life personalities, he quietly built a reputation as one of India's most dependable overseas batters and one of the country's most respected leaders.
On Thursday, the 38-year-old brought the curtain down on his international career, ending a journey that spanned more than a decade and produced some of Indian cricket's most memorable moments.
Having played 85 Tests, 90 ODIs and 20 T20Is, Rahane finished with 8,414 international runs, 15 centuries and 51 half-centuries. Yet, numbers only tell part of his story.
"The reality of life is that everything has a beginning, and everything has an end. When that time comes, you simply have to respect it and move forward. I always relied on timing in my batting, and I've always understood its important," Rahane said in his retirement video.
If there is one chapter that defines Rahane's legacy, it is India's remarkable 2020-21 Test series win in Australia.
After India were bowled out for 36 in Adelaide and Virat Kohli returned home on paternity leave, few believed the injury-hit side could compete, let alone win.
Rahane stepped in as captain and led a depleted Indian team to a stunning 2-1 series victory, one of the greatest triumphs in Indian cricket history.
His century in the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne not only rescued India's campaign but also made him the only Indian to score a Boxing Day Test hundred against Australia both as a player and as captain.
Under his leadership, India never lost a Test match, making his captaincy record (6 matches with 4 wins and 2 draws) one of the finest in Indian cricket.
Rahane earned a reputation for producing his best performances away from home. He became the first Indian batter to score both his maiden Test and ODI centuries in SENA countries, proving his ability to thrive in the toughest conditions.

After locking down a deal for Santiago Castro, it was expected that all of Tony D'Amico's efforts would turn back to finding a left wing that Gian Piero Gasperini has been yearning for. However, it appears that the next Giallorossi signing for the time being won't be Antonio Nusa or Abde Ezzalzouli to fill that need. Instead, reports indicate that Roma's next signing won't even play that far up the pitch.
In a move that came out of nowhere, Roma is expected to sign 22-year-old Greek defender Konstantinos Koulierakis of Wolfsburg. The deal was first reported by Ugo Trani of Te la do io Tokyo and is now being corroborated by Fabrizio Romano and others. The amount being bandied about is €15 million, and it's expected that Koulierakis would fill the role of vice-Hermoso.
Koulierakis is a left-footed center back who brings considerable experience for his age. He's made 59 Bundesliga appearances over the last two seasons, 35 appearances in the Greek Super League, and another 9 Europa Conference League appearances with PAOK prior to that. He's also already made 22 appearances for the Greek national team.

NEW DELHI: West Indies captain Roston Chase said his team's 90-run victory over Pakistan in the opening Test was a tribute to legendary all-rounder Garry Sobers, with the players determined to honour the cricket great. Sobers, widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in the game's history, passed away on July 17 at the age of 89. Tuesday marked what would have been his 90th birthday.
Following West Indies' victory at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Chase revealed that the team had spoken about Sobers before the match.
"We wanted to make him proud and had a chat about it before the match. I hope he is smiling down on us."
Chase also thanked the fans who turned up to support the home side.
"I also want to thank the Trinidad crowd for coming out and supporting us. It was not a big crowd, but it gave us enough energy and support to go out there and perform," Chase said.
The win handed West Indies a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.
West Indies entered the Pakistan series after a 1-0 Test series victory over Sri Lanka, and Chase said the team's recent performances were the result of months of hard work.
"I think these two teams that we've played, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, they're closer to us in the rankings. I don't want to say they're teams we should beat, but I think it's a more even contest between us."
He further said, "The guys are confident and over the last few months we've been putting in some extra hard work. We had a camp as well before the Sri Lanka series and I think that really helped us become closer as a unit and also work on our weaknesses and improve our strengths as well. So I think that this is the upliftment of that practice and camp."

On Monday, Message Board Geniuses released its top-10 "Most loyal college football fanbases" with Nebraska coming in at No. 1, followed by Texas A&M at No. 2, which makes perfect sense given both programs' struggle to match their success in the 1990's, especially the Cornhuskers, who dominated with three national championships in 1994, 1995, and 1997 under legendary head coach Tom Osborne.
Texas A&M came close to competing for a national **** le multiple times under former coach R. C. Slocum, who finished his A&M coaching career 123-47-2, including three Southwest Conference **** les and one Big 12 Championship during the 1998 season. Since then, Texas A&M has undergone five coaching changes, and Mike Elko will enter his third season at the helm after leading the Aggies to the College Football Playoff last season.
Texas A&M alums gleefully greet one another with "Gig 'em" or "Howdy!" and will stand throughout every home game in Kyle Field, no matter the team's record. The best example of steadfast support for the Maroon & White came during the 2022 season, when the Aggies finished 5-7 and, despite home losses to Ole Miss and Florida, wins against UMass and LSU, at least 90,000 fans made their way to Kyle Field.
Last season, over 100,000-plus Aggies attended every home game, including 108,582 during Texas A&M's epic comeback win vs. South Carolina.
