The Minnesota Vikings locked up one of their longest-tenured players on Tuesday, agreeing to an extension with right tackle Brian O'Neill, per Adam Schefter. According to Schefter, the deal is four years, $96 million, keeping O'Neill in purple through the 2030 season.
O'Neill was entering the final year of his deal, with no guaranteed money in the 2026 season. There was speculation that he may do a "hold-in" to protect himself in the case of injury until a new deal was done, but now he and the team don't have to worry about that scenario.
Veterans were set to report on Tuesday, with quarterbacks having done so on Monday and rookies on Sunday. So the deal removes any questions about O'Neill's short and long-term status with the team.
O'Neill is entering his ninth season with the team. If Harrison Smith retires, O'Neill will be the longest-tenured player on the roster. His 81.6 PFF grade in 2025 ranked second among all offensive players, even while fighting through injuries that held him out of three games.

In his interview with Easton Jr., Stonestreet, who stars in the new Coors Light campaign 'Mahomeses' alongside Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, reacted to the disappointing 2025 Chiefs season.
"Well, I, like everybody else, just switched to next season. I just moved on; this season is a no-go, and so now everything we do from here on out is going to be about next season, which means draft choices, which means preserving and making sure we're healthy moving into next season, which was unfortunate with Patrick getting hurt when he did," said Stonestreet. "I just moved on. That's what you learn in football. It's the game of life. You have a bad play, you've got to move on. You have a bad game; you've got to move on. The Chiefs finished the 2025 season with a 6-11 record, failing to make the playoffs or win the AFC West for the first time in a decade. Stonestreet elaborated on his view of the season, emphasizing dedicated support for the players and coaching staff.
"That's the principles of football, and this is the principles of what football teaches you in life as well. I try to keep my fandom just behind that of Andy Reid, that of Patrick Mahomes, and that of Chris Jones because I'm not out there sweating, I'm not out there bleeding, I'm not," said Stonestreet. "I haven't been in the weight room since I was 18." I didn't play college ball and go through the trials and tribulations of getting drafted and all that. I try to keep my anger, my disappointment, my happiness, and my excitement behind the people who actually contributed to the winning, and also feel that they contributed to the losing. The 20-year-old Frenchman, who played his first senior game in August 2025, is due on Tyneside on Thursday to have a medical and sign a long-term contract.

For the first time since IndyCar introduced its charter system in 2025, one of the 25 available charters has been sold. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing is selling one of its three charters to Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, which will return as a full-time IndyCar team for the first time since 2012.
After Dreyer & Reinbold Racing owner Dennis Reinbold died in June, the team has continued operations and worked to become a full-time team, which Reinbold was working toward before his death. Dreyer & Reinbold Racing CEO Derek Reinbold worked with RLL's ownership group of Bobby Rahal, Mike Lanigan and David Letterman to complete the deal.
"I want to thank Bobby Rahal, Mike Lanigan, David Letterman, and (RLL president) Jay Frye for the way they approached this from our very first conversation," Reinbold said in a news release. "They treated this as a partnership between two organizations that want to see each other succeed, and this announcement today reflects that.
"The NTT IndyCar Series is in the strongest position it has been in for decades, and that is a direct result of Roger Penske's stewardship and leadership. The growth of this series, on the track and off, made this the right moment for our team to return to full-time racing. My dad built Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and poured his life into it, and our family has been part of the Speedway for four generations. Competing for a full season again is the truest way we can honor his legacy, and we intend to make him proud."
Dreyer & Reinbold has competed in the Indianapolis 500 every year despite not being a full-time team, and it will now be the 11th team in the paddock in 2027. RLL has not announced which drivers will return next year, as the team's current lineup consists of Graham Rahal, Louis Foster and Mick Schumacher.

Texas A&M's pitching outlook for the 2027 season just received a major boost. After weeks of uncertainty, Clayton Freshcorn has informed the program that he will not sign with the St. Louis Cardinals and will instead return to Aggieland for another year. For the Aggies, this is the kind of news that changes the entire conversation around next season's staff.
When Freshcorn was drafted, there was immediate discussion about whether returning to A&M might actually benefit him long term. Considering his draft position and the arrival of a new pitching coach, betting on himself made sense. The Apple Valley Storm Boys 2010 team competes in the National 1 League, a high-level group that features some of the top teams and players in the region. The Storm boys are tested week after week against strong opponents, making their success this season all the more savory.
"Coach Jason de la Cruz has been doing an amazing job with the boys," Ragen said. "He has been training them for several years, so it is very emotional and heartfelt to see how far they've come. We don't want to slow their momentum with the financial burdens of each boy's family trying to cover this adventure for them."
The teenage team is looking for sponsors to help them afford the trip, which will take place from July 17 to July 19, including transportation, lodging, meals, tournament fees and other travel expenses.

A reveal of great news for former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel should have fans seeing a lot more of him this coming football season. The retired veteran field general is signing a multi-year extension that includes on-screen opportunities on ESPN and the SEC Network.

One of the big talking points of the San Francisco 49ers' offseason revolves around running back Christian McCaffrey. While the star player is healthy and ready to roll in Year 10, head coach Kyle Shanahan has talked about lessening the veteran's workload in 2026, which means more work for whomever takes the RB2 role this year.
That position battle is one of the more intriguing ones of the offseason, but NBC Sports Bay Area's Jennifer Lee Chan believes third-round rookie Kaelon Black is at an advantage in taking the backup role to help spell McCaffrey because he is built similarly to the 49ers starter.
She noted that McCaffrey's 2025 backup, Brian Robinson Jr. doesn't have the same skillset McCaffrey does and therefore couldn't execute the offense to the same degree when the 49ers wanted to give their starter a break.
"So, when Kyle Shanahan would call plays and Christian McCaffrey wasn't out there, they were trying to give him a break, I think more than once, Kyle Shanahan was like, 'He's got to go back in there,'" she said. "Now, I think this year, having Kaelon Black, I mean, he's a guy who we've seen already through OTAs catching passes. He's not a huge guy, but what we've seen so far is that his catch radius is pretty good. I mean, I've seen him make a couple of fingertip catches already through OTAs. Maybe passes that weren't completely on target, but he's gone for them and hauled them in. So, he's going to become, I mean, it looks like, a reliable pass catcher also as you know, who's a running back as well."

The 2026 Home Run Derby field is slowly coming into focus.
Four participants – all of whom are from the American League – have already accepted their invitations to the precursor to the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night, with four more spots up for grabs going into the final weekend series of the first half of the season.
The Home Run Derby is set for 8 p.m. ET on Monday, July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

This year's Home Run Derby will feature several format changes, most notably the removal of the timer. Instead, each of the eight participants will be allotted a set number of swings, with every swing counting. Hitters will get 20 swings in the first round and 15 swings in both the semifinals and finals. If a player homers on the final swing of any round, they can continue hitting until a swing does not result in a home run.

Zlatan Ibrahimović has never been one to mince his words. So why start now? In the time since retiring from active football, the Swedish superstar has also made a name for himself as a TV pundit on 'Fox Sports', among other things. As usual, he has been firing off one-liners left and right. A number of World Cup nations also got a taste of his sharp tongue after being knocked out of the tournament.
