Paloma Elsesser thinks that the glamorization of Ozempic and similar weight-loss drugs isn't a good thing for society as a whole.
The 34-year-old model, who became the first plus-size model to win Model of the Year at the Fashion Awards in 2023, made an appearance on Vogue's The Run-Through podcast and suggested the rise of Ozempic can be correlated to the rise of "conservative" and "anti-woke" rhetoric. "I think the Ozempic era that we're talking about is harmful because it kind of takes away the agency to live in the way that I would hope people and women and young girls and young people can think about their bodies in this world," she shared. Around the 32-minute point of the podcast, which can be seen above.
Elssesser also said that she's seen a rise in "pro-eating disorder content" on platforms such as TikTok, which is especially worrying considering so many young people have unfiltered access to such content.
"II think people are just being like, 'Okay, this is not it,'" she continued. "We're seeing celebrities and people… I think people are upset. … I think that women should have agency. I am critical of applying my body, your body, your choice to this conversation because it's like… 'Is it your choice?' It's not. It's a prescription, so it doesn't actually feel like a choice. … I don't know, maybe I said something problematic. … The number one central tenet, like, anything that I try and live and encourage is to just think critically, not be critical."

NEW YORK (AP) — Two major news networks were denied access to the White House on Saturday morning, with reporters from CNN and MS NOW both going live to report they'd been barred following a ban imposed by President Donald Trump.
The actions escalated Trump's long-running efforts to restrict news coverage by journalists he finds objectionable, and is the latest test of First Amendment protections in the United States. Trump said Friday he would ban both organizations and also Politico, because of their coverage — which he called "fake news."
CNN issued a statement saying it stood behind its reporters. "We will not be deflected from our duty to hold the government and other public bodies to account," it said. The statement was shown on the air before senior White House reporter Betsy Klein began to report on her ban.
MS NOW also said in a statement that it stands behind its journalists.
"The White House belongs to the American people and the decisions made inside are funded by our tax dollars," the network said in a statement Saturday. "MS NOW intends to take any and all steps necessary to defend our First Amendment rights and the essential role of independent journalism in our democracy."

Apple (AAPL) recently decided to buy startup Sonera, which has reportedly developed a neural-data technology tool. The move could boost Apple stock within the next few years and bodes well for the company's long-term outlook. In the medium term, however, AAPL stock is unlikely to surpass the returns of the Nasdaq-100 by a significant margin, as the company continues to face multiple, negative catalysts. Weaker-than-expected revenue-growth guidance for the current quarter also suggests that these factors are beginning to weigh on Apple's performance. Let's take a closer look.
Earlier this year, Apple agreed to buy California-based startup called Sonera, which the European Commission disclosed on Sept. 8. The startup reportedly utilizes "breakthrough sensing technology" which allows it to ***** yze human brains without making direct contact with individuals' bodies.

A day after a disappointing outcome at the Solheim Cup, U.S. captain Angela Stanford has a new gig.
Stanford has joined the TCU women's golf team as an ***** istant coach.
TCU's website said: "The greatest player in TCU women's golf history is back in purple and white."
Stanford, who is from nearby Saginaw, Texas, about 15 miles away from Ft. Worth, was a four-time All-American for the Horned Frogs from 1996-2000, the only four-time All-American in program history. Stanford holds the school record for wins with 10.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Angela Stanford back home to TCU as our third coach," said TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin. "As one of the most decorated and respected figures in golf history, her transition from a legendary professional career to our coaching staff is a monumental moment for our program. Angela's elite competitive experience as a major champion, combined with her leadership as a U.S. Solheim Cup captain, will provide our student-athletes with unparalleled mentorship. An Alaska teenager who survived nearly two days atop an overturned fishing skiff told his rescuers that his cousin had slipped away during the night and that his older brother remained beneath the vessel after the three were thrown into the frigid Bering Sea, according to rescuers and family members.
Derek Parker Aghnaanga, 15, was spotted Monday morning on the capsized skiff roughly four miles east of St. Lawrence Island after he, his 35-year-old brother Sidney Kulowiyi and their cousin disappeared during a fishing trip.
"Through the teeth chattering, he had mentioned that his brother was still under the skiff," Adam White, captain of the fishing vessel Northwest Explorer, told Anchorage affiliate KTUU-TV. "And then he said that, in the previous night, before our rescue, that his cousin had slipped away."
A GoFundMe page organized by relatives said Aghnaanga tried to hold onto his brother and cousin after they died, before their bodies were recovered.

Chicago White Sox amateur scouting director Mike Shirley resigned on Saturday in the wake of an internal investigation into verbal harassment allegations, according to The Athletic.
Shirley was reportedly placed on administrative leave after the White Sox received an anonymous tip about his conduct at last month's Area Code Games in Long Beach, California. He was alleged to have made racial and ****** ist comments both about coworkers and in front of coworkers.
The White Sox human resources department reportedly launched an investigation into Shirley, interviewing members of his scouting department. It remains unclear what findings the investigation made.
This reportedly wasn't the first time Shirley faced an internal investigation over his behavior. In 2022, he was investigated after a former employee left the club and flagged his behavior toward scouts from underrpresented groups. The tip was made to MLB and later passed on to the White Sox, whose investigation did not find any bias in his hiring practices or behavior.
This latest investigation reportedly included allegations of vulgar language about women and their bodies.

Aston Villa v **** nal, August 2024. Morgan Rogers receives a pass facing his own goal and Declan Rice is immediately on his back, but the Villa midfielder takes the ball with the outside of his right foot and swivels into **** e, leaving Rice behind. The **** e is quickly filled by **** nal's midfield enforcer Thomas Partey, but Rogers knocks it past Partey and races around his back to regather the ball, leaving the Ghanaian splayed on the grass. Their tussle at least buys Rice some time to catch up, but as he lunges in to make the tackle, Rogers takes a clever touch and Rice concedes a clumsy foul.
Arsenal would go on to win but it was an afternoon full of moments like that one in which Rogers tormented his opponents. After the game, Mikel Arteta marvelled at his performance. On Sky Sports, Jamie Redknapp compared Rogers to "Jonah Lomu in his prime", and when you saw the trail of **** nal bodies left on the floor, you understood exactly what he meant.
The Lomu comparison touched on what makes Rogers rare, even unique, in world football, and perhaps helps to explain why Chelsea FC were prepared to spend £117m to sign him this summer. Rogers is a blend of football genres, a walking oxymoron, powerful and graceful, hardy and agile, heavy and light all at once, like some contorted beast with the shoulders of a buffalo and the feet of a squirrel on an errand.
Morgan Rogers has made an impressive start to life at Chelsea (Getty)
There are other robust ball-carriers at the top of the game: Antoine **** yo and Jude Bellingham come to mind; Ryan Gravenberch, Manu Kone and Rice all perform similar functions from deep. But none have Rogers' package of strength and balance, quick feet and rapid acceleration, that creative eye and subtle movement between the lines. In an increasingly **** genized world of coaching and industrialised talent production, Rogers is something of a unicorn forward.

Sept 9 (Reuters) - The photos tell a story of lives, interrupted.
The schoolroom, gaily decorated with paintings and letters. The paint shop, where the shelves still contain rows of once colourful cans. The bathroom, the closet that held neatly piled clothing, the yards. All are now covered with a thick layer of river mud that descended without warning on bustling communities.
As the waters recede, the survivors remain stunned, grieving and praying.
A string of miracle rescues in recent days has kept hopes alive that more people might still be saved from the catastrophe of August 26 when a glacier collapsed, sending a mass of mud and rock crashing into a river along the border between Nepal and China's Tibet. The resulting floods washed away villages, snapped highways like twigs, and buried homes in the mud.
At least 1,380 bodies have so far been pulled from the wreckage, some far downstream from the site of the disaster. A wall outside a Kathmandu hospital plastered with photos and desperate appeals hints at the unfinished story of an estimated 5,500 people who remain missing.

Tyrone All-Ireland winner Conor Meyler said his concern over the planned merger of the GAA, Camogie ******* ociation and Ladies Gaelic Football ******* ociation [LGFA] is that the issue "is going to be thrown to the wayside again".
In February 2024, the three bodies announced plans to merge into one organisation by 2027.
However, in recent days, chairperson of the Steering Group Dr Mary McAleese stepped down, while a recent letter sent by the GAA's Integration Committee said it could no longer commit to that timeline.
"I don't doubt her [McAleese's] ability and leadership in any stretch," Meyler told BBC Sport NI's Mark Sidebottom.
"I just don't think she surrounded herself with the right board composition to actually get it done or she didn't have the power in the position to actually get things done within the three ******* ociations that she wanted and that's probably really disappointing because I know she was wholeheartedly going into this trying to make it happen.

It's a family affair!
Zac Efron and Dylan Efron have never been shy to show off their ripped bodies whenever they go on vacation together and their recent boat getaway is certainly no exception.
In a new Instagram carousel posted by Dylan Efron, the handsome reality star poses shirtless next to his older brother as they take in the views on the water. Although Zac Efron might not be wearing his signature Baywatch Speedo while on the family vacay, the duo looks like they're having the time of their lives as summer comes to a close.
Throughout the post, fans can also see Dylan Efron golfing, spending time with his dog, and even ordering food in a drive-through at In-N-Out. The brothers definitely deserve some relaxation time as Dylan Efron had his breakout year in 2025 after winning season 3 of The Traitors and making it all the way to the finals on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars.
Zac Efron, on the other hand, has quite a busy schedule with quite a few acting gigs lined up for the future. He's going to star in and executive produce a highly anticipated Angel Heart series, which is slated to drop next year or in 2028. In terms of movies, the actor will star in the psychological thriller Famous and the comedy film Judgment Day, with both scheduled to drop later this year.

Pat McAfee has always flown the flag for punters in the NFL, but he has now admitted his playing career did leave him feeling slightly guilty.
There are a lot of players both past and present who do not consider kickers and punters as actual NFL players.
McAfee will certainly argue against that, but he does appreciate that the kickers and punters do not quite pull their weight in the same way as the other players do.
It must be said that McAfee is one of the few punters who put their bodies to the test by getting involved in tackling among other aspects of the game.
However, the 39-year-old has now admitted that he did feel guilty not having to learn the playbook in the same way the rest of the squad was made to.

Manchester United head into a demanding week with one eye on Sabah and the other on Manchester City, and the injury picture is starting to shift. Michael Carrick has had some encouragement, with Mason Mount back fit and Luke Shaw already returning to the starting line-up against Everton. That matters, because United need bodies, options and a bit of continuity.
The derby is the bigger concern. Sabah may arrive first, but ****** ody at Old Trafford will pretend Sunday is not the priority. As things stand, United are hoping at least one player can be back in contention for that game, while others remain on slower timelines.
Marcus Rashford looked sharp against Everton and caused problems throughout his 70 minutes, particularly with his direct running and willingness to attack ****** e. So when he came off, it raised eyebrows. Carrick later explained the change, saying: "Yeah, he was feeling a bit of something."
That does not automatically mean a lay-off, but it does put his immediate availability under scrutiny. With Sabah up next, United may decide not to take risks if there is any doubt at all. The working ****** umption is that Rashford should be available soon, and the home game against Sabah on September 10 is currently viewed as the earliest realistic return point if caution wins out.

We all know that the level of fitness achieved by celebrities we see on television isn't attainable for many, if not most everyday people. And yet, when their sculpted bodies grace our screens, it can still activate a little voice that says "clearly you're not doing enough."
That's why it's so helpful and grounding when a celebrity is actually transparent about the work it takes to achieve their physique, so that it might quiet that self deprecating narrative and help us get a little more realistic about achieving whatever fitness goals we might have. Jessica Biel's recent response to a fan who asked her to share her workout routine is a perfect example of that.
It all started with a clip from her Prime Video thriller series, The Better Sister, where she plays a super fit character …as is evident by how clearly toned s he looks in a backless white dress worn during the show's opening.
Several women have shared the clip on TikTok, while muttering something along the lines of "I need to get back to the gym." One person even asked Biel to share the workout routine she does in order to get that toned. Biel saw the request, and acquiesced…but not without delivering a truth bomb or two.
"Everyone is talking…about the white dress…and I just wanted to share that that peak shape in that show is not maintainable unless you are living the strictest, most rigid lifestyle with your nutrition and with your fitness," she said, admitting that not even she, someone who's been notably lean and athletic their entire adult life, who has access to the best foods, best gym equipment, etc. etc., can sustain that look indefinitely.

GYIRONG, China, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Chinese officials said on Sunday that workers had recovered 12 more bodies as the search continued for hundreds still missing after a tsunami-like mudslide destroyed China's main border crossing with Nepal.
Rescue workers in bright orange uniforms used excavators, shovels and ground-penetrating radar to scour the now-buried site of the Gyirong border crossing.
The border crossing became a grisly emblem of the devastation that followed the collapse of a glacier on the Nepal side of the border on August 26 after videos showed a black wave of water, mud and debris sweeping over it with little warning.
Reuters and other news agencies visited the land port, which sits in a narrow river gorge, in the first trip organised for international media by China's foreign ministry on Sunday.

TEL AVIV, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered unauthorized settler outposts in the West Bank to be dismantled, two people familiar with the matter said on Sunday, amid pressure from the U.S. to crack down on settler attacks on Palestinians.
The order applies to outposts established by settlers without official authorisation from the Israeli state, the sources said. Outposts typically consist of prefabricated caravans and house a small number of settlers. The state has from time to time demolished such structures and also formally recognized others, allowing them to access government funding.
It was not immediately clear when the operation would begin.
U.N. bodies and most governments deem all Israeli settlements illegal under international law and consider the West Bank to be occupied territory under military control. Israel argues the territory is disputed, not occupied.

Ford Motor (NYSE:F), the global light-vehicle and truck maker with Ford and Lincoln brands, closed at $14.14, up 2.17%. Wednesday's session followed reports that August U.S. sales fell 10.3%. Investors will be closely watching pickup production and demand next.
Trading volume reached 51.7 million shares, coming in roughly 3.1% above its three-month average of 50.2 million shares.
The S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) closed at 7,667, up 0.47%, while the Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) finished at 26,218, up 0.45%. Among automobile manufacturers, General Motors (NYSE:GM) closed at $84.88, down 0.88%, and Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) ended at $5.27, down 1.50%, highlighting softer trading in auto peers during the session.
Ford reported August U.S. sales fell 10.3%, marking an eighth straight month of year-over-year declines. Investors were encouraged, however, after the automaker said its production of the large, highly profitable "Super Duty" trucks last month reached a 20-year high. At the same time, the output of F-150 pickups reached its highest point in two years, reports CNBC. Ford was significantly affected by supplier issues due to its large aluminum bodies and other components following an aluminum plant fire late last year.
August electric vehicle (EV) sales were down nearly 80%, while hybrid sales were down 20%. Ford stock is nearly 20% off its 2026 highs, reached after the company announced the formation of Ford Energy in May. That came after it repurposed some EV ******* ets as part of a pivot to tap into demand for energy storage. That helped investors shrug off the plunging EV and hybrid sales.

(NewsNation) — The Juneau, Alaska, community is mourning the loss of 16-year-olds Leotis Phillips and Zoey Clark after they were found dead in the woods with a gun on Monday.
"I can't imagine the pain they were in to make this decision," Ariah Clark, a cousin of Zoey Clark, said at a candlelight vigil Tuesday, according to the Juneau Independent. The outlet reported that more than 150 friends, family and teachers gathered at Clark's high school for the vigil, near where the teens' bodies were found.
Grand Canyon flood victims identified as third hiker remains missing
"The only comfort I think any of us can find at this point is that they weren't alone and they found peace in those last moments together," Clark added. "They wouldn't want any of us to continue to suffer because that was not their goal and intention."

On August 26, Biohaven (NYSE:BHVN) and SK Biopharmaceuticals announced a global licensing agreement covering opakalim, Biohaven's lead epilepsy candidate, in a deal worth up to $795 million plus royalties. SK Biopharmaceuticals picks up exclusive worldwide rights to Biohaven's Kv7 ion channel platform, while Biohaven walks away with $400 million in near-term cash. The timing lines up with an August 10, 2026 earnings report that showed Biohaven still losing well over $100 million a quarter, and the gap between those two dates explains a lot about why this deal happened now.
SK Biopharmaceuticals will pay up to $795 million in upfront and milestone payments connected to the Kv7 platform, on top of tiered royalties on US net sales of opakalim that range from the mid-teens to low twenties. Biohaven collects $350 million at closing and another $50 million in 2027, with as much as $150 million more available through development and regulatory milestones plus royalties on global sales. SK Biopharmaceuticals is also taking over Kv7 program costs going forward, including certain Knopp Biosciences obligations. CEO Vlad Coric described the structure as proof Biohaven can monetize its pipeline through partnerships rather than leaning on public markets for cash.
The deal only makes sense because opakalim looks like it works. In a proof-of-concept study in idiopathic generalized epilepsy, the median time to a second generalized tonic-clonic seizure stretched to 141 days on opakalim versus 47 days on placebo, and a third of patients made it through the full 24 weeks without a second seizure. In focal epilepsy, 54% of patients in an open-label extension study saw at least a 50% drop in seizure frequency over any six months, in a group of more than 100 patients.
Opakalim is also designed as a once-daily pill with no ******* ration required, a real edge over older antiseizure drugs. Pairing that data with SK Biopharmaceuticals, the company behind XCOPRI and the only firm to bring a new focal-seizure drug to the US market since 2016, gives Opakalim a commercial path Biohaven would have struggled to build alone. The cash also buys runway for the rest of the pipeline, including protein degraders BHV-1300 and BHV-1400, which have shown rapid, selective reductions in disease-driving antibodies in Graves' disease and IgA nephropathy with clean safety data across nearly 200 patients dosed.
Biohaven is giving up full ownership of an ******* et it now believes could be a major seller. Royalties in the mid-teens to low twenties are real money, but they are a fraction of what outright ownership of an approved epilepsy drug would be worth, and $50 million of the $400 million upfront does not arrive until 2027. The Knopp Biosciences obligations SK Biopharmaceuticals is absorbing, worth up to $245 million plus mid-single-digit royalties, are a reminder that other parties already have claims on opakalim's future revenue before Biohaven sees a dollar of profit from it.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had plenty of heroes over their past two runs to World Series championships, yet the most unlikely has to be right-hander Will Klein.
During Game 3 of the 2025 Fall Classic, Klein came in and delivered four scoreless innings, allowing Los Angeles to walk it off in the bottom of the 18th inning.
That earned Klein a spot on the active roster heading into the 2026 season, and in the first half he was one of the best arms in the bullpen.
However, after the All-Star break Klein struggled mightily, allowing nine runs across 4 1/3 innings of work and raising his season ERA to 3.67. Shortly after, Los Angeles placed him on the 15-day injured list on August 1 due to right elbow discomfort and loose bodies.

Ten months ago, the Los Angeles Rams conducted an audacious experiment.
They sought to reduce the toll that transatlantic travel takes on players' bodies by approaching a game in London like a hit-and-run mission.
Instead of flying out a few days before kickoff the way most NFL teams do, the Rams arrived in London just a day before facing the Jacksonville Jaguars and began their journey home soon after the final whistle. There would be no need for body clocks to adapt to the eight-hour time difference, the Rams theorized, if the trip was as short as possible.
Poking holes in the Rams' tactics became harder over the course of a crisp 35-7 pummeling of a Jaguars team that only lost three other games last regular season. "The way the guys played showed it was the right decision," Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters after his team brushed off the absence of injured star receiver Puka Nakua, charged to a 21-0 halftime lead and coasted to a blowout victory.
Emboldened by last year's successful trial run, the Rams are getting even more daring. They're applying the same philosophy to the longest trip in NFL history, a 16-hour flight to Melbourne, Australia, covering nearly 8,000 miles. Australia hosts its first NFL game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, September 11 when the Super Bowl favorite Rams open their season against the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff is at 10:35 a.m. in Melbourne so that the game airs in prime time on Thursday, September 10 back in the U.S.

My eleven-year-old is still trying to learn the Dougie. Over a decade since it entered the cultural bloodstream, and it is still moving through generations like a living thing. I grew up on the Running Man, the Kid-n-Play kick step, the Wop. These were not just moves. They were rituals, practiced on living-room floors, performed at local parties. And yet, in most cases, I had no idea who originated them. I knew the artists who introduced them to the zeitgeist. Still, the actual creators, the people whose bodies birthed the movement, had essentially vanished from the record. That gap, between cultural impact and cultural credit, is precisely what Connor Lim is trying to close. So, we brought him onto the latest episode of the FROM THE CULTURE podcast to better understand how.
Lim is the co-founder and CEO of the International Dance League, the world's first global professional dance league. Six city-based teams, a regular season, a championship, and, as of this past summer, a global media rights deal with ESPN. IDL grew out of STEEZY, an online dance education platform he built after a childhood in Queens, completely consumed by the craft. For most people, dance is considered an art form, but Lim sees it as that and much more: a sport. Consider the battle traditions of breaking, krumping, and voguing, and Lim's perspective no longer feels like much of a stretch. In fact, breakdancing made its Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Games as an official event, a testament to dance's competitive nature. It's this thesis that fuels Lim's ambition for the IDL to make dance as big of a sport as basketball, football, or baseball. However, unlike athletes, dancers have never sat inside a structure that captures the value they generate.
NAPA, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 06: Jada Warren-Evans, Joshua Vasquez, Anna Fox, Connor Lim, Alec Albright, Clay Boonthanakit of IDL Global attend the CÎROC Athletic Club Pickleball Tournament ahead of the Big Game at M Ranch Napa on February 06, 2026 in Napa, California. This is a double-edged sword because, even as an art, dance misses out on this value capture. Music has royalties, touring, and publishing rights. These are all mechanisms by which value accrues back to the creator, so an ecosystem forms, and the people who make it are remembered and rewarded. Dance, for all its cultural reach and resonance, has no such machinery. So, knowing the originator served no structural purpose, and the credit simply evaporated. Lim put it plainly: people act as they are incentivized to act, so he's built the IDL on a system of incentives.
The late Charlie Munger, longtime vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, famously stated, "Show me the incentive, and I will show you the outcome," emphasizing that an organization's operational reality and culture are direct reflections of its underlying incentive system. Having participated in the culture IDL is trying to prop up, Lim understands this fund

Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) has agreed to acquire privately held Merida Biosciences for up to $2.875 billion in cash, including an upfront payment and milestone-based payments. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The acquisition expands Lilly's immunology pipeline and gives it access to Merida's antibody-engineering platform, which is designed to selectively eliminate disease-causing autoantibodies while preserving normal immune function. Merida's lead candidate, MER511, is in Phase 1 development for Graves' disease and thyroid eye disease (TED). Early data showed substantial reductions in disease-related antibodies along with a favorable initial safety profile.
The deal also fits Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY)'s broader strategy of using the cash generated by its obesity and diabetes franchises to diversify into additional therapeutic areas. Lilly has been active in acquisitions throughout 2026, making Merida the latest addition to its expanding pipeline.
The biggest benefit for Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) is pipeline diversification. The company has generated significant growth from Mounjaro and Zepbound, but that success also increases its reliance on the obesity and diabetes markets. Adding Merida gives Lilly another potential growth platform in immunology.
Merida's technology could be particularly valuable if it works beyond its lead program. Rather than broadly suppressing the immune system, its approach is designed to target the antibodies responsible for specific autoimmune and allergic diseases. This could potentially offer a more targeted treatment strategy and create opportunities across several conditions.

Washington is about a week away from their first game of the season, as the Huskies are set to take on Washington State in an early-season edition of the Apple Cup on September 6.
With fall camp wrapped up, Jedd Fisch's team will now finalize its battles for positions on the two-deep depth chart as the Huskies focus on game prep for the first time this year.
Let's take a look at what that two-deep might look like on defense and special teams.
Starter: Elinneus Davis, Derek Colman-Brusa, Backups: Darin Conley, DeSean Watts, Kai McClendon, Omar Khan, TI Umu-Cais
Colman-Brusa has been the story of the offseason in the middle, looking every bit like a Big Ten defensive tackle despite being in his first college season. That's almost overshadowed a big offseason step from Davis, who has been wreaking havoc in practice for months and was voted as a captain earlier this week. Conley and Watts, both transfers, have been solid players as well and will give Washington a healthy rotation of bodies. McClendon could also factor in soon after he was recently fully cleared from an ACL tear last season at Mississippi State.

As a young girl growing up in Hungary, Panna Ratkai learned to dream big by going to the movies.
American movies, in particular, would always grab Ratkai's attention. Visiting the United States, which were always depicted on screen as the cool place to visit, was something she became enamored with early in life.
The best movies, she said, were always filmed in Hawaii with the warm, sandy beaches and blue sky.
"Hungary is in central Europe and so we had no water bodies around us," Ratkai said. "Hawaii was definitely a place for me that I learned I always wanted to live by the beach after seeing it in movies. I can also hike, so those are like my two favorite activities I always like to do."
As an active child not afraid to try out multiple sports, Ratkai first excelled in track, in the long jump and 400-meter hurdles.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has been speaking to the media before Sunday's Premier League game against Brentford at Elland Road (kick-off 14:00 BST).
Here are the key lines from his news conference:
On the injuries in the squad, Farke said: "It's [Ilia] Gruev's second week training with the team so he's edging closer and closer. Also some good news was Gudmundsson and Gnonto - as it stands they will join us this afternoon [in training] for the first time after their injuries. We have to wait to see how their bodies reacts. Obviously, we just have two days but definitely good news."
On the likelihood of Gruev playing on Sunday, he said: "He has missed more or less four months without playing a game so we have to make a decision. Physically, he is edging closer and closer. He also looks good on the training pitch. If I need him, I would have no problems to call him to the squad. We have now, thank god, a situation where we don't have to rush Ilia."
On the club's transfer window so far, he said: "We are in a good position. Very pleased with our window so far. We will stay aware because the feeling is that we want to do something more. We're definitely in a good place. I like our window so far and all our signings are spot on. Early signs are great but we have a long season."

The NCAA's new 5‑in‑5 eligibility rule continues to send shockwaves through college athletics, and nowhere is the confusion more visible than in Texas A&M's still‑unfinished 2026–27 basketball roster. The past week delivered another round of twists.
First, former G‑League guard Bryson Warren was ruled ineligible by both the NCAA and the SEC. Warren secured a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the NCAA, but the SEC's stance remained unchanged, prompting him to enter the transfer portal and leaving the Aggies with an unexpected roster vacancy.
Meanwhile, former A&M guard Rylan Griffen awaited a ruling in his own lawsuit in the Dallas court system. On Thursday, a judge granted a TRO against the NCAA, the SEC, and commissioner Greg Sankey, effectively telling the governing bodies that if they want to challenge Griffen's eligibility, they'll have to do it in court.
The TRO doesn't prevent the SEC from issuing punishments to schools that play athletes it considers ineligible, but Griffen's case carries a key distinction. He never signed a professional contract. His only pro‑adjacent experience was a summer league deal with the Denver Nuggets, which functions more like a tryout than a guaranteed roster spot. That difference gives him a stronger argument than Warren under the current legal landscape.
Shortly after the TRO news broke, Luke Evangelist of TexAgs reported that Griffen has enrolled in classes at Texas A&M and intends to join the team. His status now hinges on a preliminary injunction hearing scheduled for September 11, which will determine whether he can compete while the broader lawsuit plays out.

NEW DELHI, Aug 26 (Reuters) - A deadly flash flood near Nepal's border with Tibet on Wednesday may have been triggered when the lower part of a glacier broke off and crashed on to the valley floor hundreds of metres below, experts said citing satellite imagery from Planet Labs.
It was not clear what caused the glacier to collapse, but Nepali officials have pointed to an earthquake in the region minutes earlier as a possibility.
Authorities on both sides fear the total number of casualties will be far higher than the nearly 100 bodies so far recovered. More than 300 travellers were missing, Nepal's government has said.
Before-and-after satellite imagery of the region from Planet Labs, reviewed by Reuters, showed lush green mountainside now buried under brown debris and sediment.
