NEW YORK (AP) — Cody Bellinger hit a three-run homer in the second inning off rookie Nolan McLean, and the New York Yankees beat the New York Mets 6-4 on Friday night.
Ben Rice also homered as the Yankees won for the 17th time in 24 games and moved a season-high 23 games over .500 on a night the team remembered the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Rookie Spencer Jones added an RBI single in the first inning and Ryan McMahon hit an RBI single in the eighth as the Yankees remained three games behind Tampa Bay in the AL East and moved 5 1/2 ahead of Boston for the first American League wild card.
Carlos Rodón (6-3) allowed two runs and three hits in a season-high 6 1/3 innings. The left-hander notched two of his eight strikeouts on slugger Juan Soto, who heard boos from Yankee fans before each at-bat.
Bellinger homered after catching the ceremonial first pitch from Brielle Saracini, whose father Victor Saracini was the pilot on United Airlines Flight 175, which was flown into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

The Arthur Ashe Stadium glowed light blue from dusk until dawn as the US Open marked the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
American flags were flown at half-mast as New York remembered the 2,977 people who died when hijackers crashed passenger jets into the Twin Towers in Manhattan on that day in 2001.
That year's US Open had concluded just two days earlier, with Lleyton Hewitt winning the men's singles **** le.
American player James Blake had lost in the second round that year and was in Augusta, Georgia, on Tuesday, 11 September.
But the New York-born future world number four says the day "shattered the guise of safety" felt by Americans and many professional tennis players.

Pat McAfee has always flown the flag for punters in the NFL, but he has now admitted his playing career did leave him feeling slightly guilty.
There are a lot of players both past and present who do not consider kickers and punters as actual NFL players.
McAfee will certainly argue against that, but he does appreciate that the kickers and punters do not quite pull their weight in the same way as the other players do.
It must be said that McAfee is one of the few punters who put their bodies to the test by getting involved in tackling among other aspects of the game.
However, the 39-year-old has now admitted that he did feel guilty not having to learn the playbook in the same way the rest of the squad was made to.

CNBC reported that American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) announced seven new international routes for its summer 2027 schedule, most flown on its Airbus A321XLR.
New destinations include Philadelphia to Porto and Vienna and JFK to Amsterdam and Nice, alongside a returning Reykjavik route and Charlotte-Barcelona and Chicago-Tokyo Narita service on widebody jets. American's SVP of network and schedule planning, Brian Znotins, said the XLR "really opens up the menu for all these destinations that are just too small for a widebody." The announcement came the same week that rival United Airlines, which flies more international routes than any other U.S. carrier, unveiled its own 2027 international additions. American has said its flying is split roughly 80% domestic and 20% international.
The XLR gives American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) a more flexible way to expand its international network. The smaller, long-range aircraft lets American serve thinner transatlantic markets without committing the capacity of a larger widebody jet. That flexibility opens opportunities such as Philadelphia-Vienna and Philadelphia-Porto and gives American another way to grow international revenue.
The XLR's premium-heavy configuration also gives American more room to target higher-value travelers. American designed the aircraft's new interior with more premium seating than its other aircraft, allowing the airline to offer a stronger premium product on long-haul routes. If American can fill those seats at attractive fares, the aircraft could improve the economics of its international expansion.
American also gains a competitive advantage on Philadelphia-Vienna. The airline said it will become the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop service between the two cities. That position gives American a differentiated product on the route and could help it capture travelers who value nonstop service.

London — Prince Harry and Meghan arrived back in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, CBS News' partner network BBC News reported. The Duke and ******* ss of Sussex were understood to have flown privately with their two children from California and landed in Birmingham in the early afternoon.
A spokesperson for the couple told CBS News they could not "comment or guide on the family's private travel movements," given privacy and security concerns.
The news broke last week that Harry and Meghan would be returning to Britain after six years in California.
The pair have no plans to resume royal duties. They will continue as non-working members of the royal family, as they have been for six years, and the BBC said they were expected to live in the affluent Cotswolds region, about a 2-hour drive west of London.
The couple said in January 2020 that they were stepping away from their roles as senior, working members of the royal family to become financially independent.

Crossroads Capital LLC, an investment management firm, published its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The Fund increased by 11.5% net of fees and expenses during the quarter. Since its founding, the fund has compounded at a net rate of 17.9%. By the end of June 2026, the fund's overall non-delta-adjusted gross and net exposures were 115.0% and 86.9%, respectively. In Q2, the S&P 500 rebounded 14.9%, its best since 2020, as market uncertainty eased. The oil market showed a transition, with Brent crude prices fluctuating. AI and semiconductors thrived, with 25% earnings growth. The quarter underscored a key principle: risk is priced continuously but resolved discontinuously. Small-cap benchmarks hit new highs, though the Magnificent 7 saw modest gains. In Q2, market activity focused on adjustments rather than facts, capitalizing on high option premiums. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Crossroads Capital highlighted FTAI Aviation Ltd. (NASDAQ:FTAI). FTAI Aviation Ltd. (NASDAQ:FTAI) is an aviation company that owns, acquires, and sells aviation equipment. On August 19, 2026, FTAI Aviation Ltd. (NASDAQ:FTAI) closed at $210.91 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $21.66 billion. FTAI Aviation Ltd. (NASDAQ:FTAI) posted a one‑month return of -6.95%, while its shares gained 38.10% over the past 52 weeks.
Crossroads Capital stated the following regarding FTAI Aviation Ltd. (NASDAQ:FTAI) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"FTAI Aviation Ltd. (NASDAQ:FTAI) entered the book eighteen months ago as a special situation, as a short seller campaign had marked the stock into the low $80s. However, it has since graduated to "emerging compounder." Today. FTAI is the leading independent MRO franchise for the CFM56, the most widely-flown engine on earth. It runs a vertically-integrated platform that manufactures "green time" (remaining usable life) by tearing down older engines and rebuilding them with proprietary PMA parts and used serviceable material into modules that swap in days rather than months. In a supply-constrained aftermarket, that speed can be the difference between an airline flying or remaining idle. FTAI captures the demand for that speed with high-margin Aerospace Products revenue layered on top of leasing, with the whole model migrating towards capital-light through its Strategic Capital vehicles.
The first quarter, reported in late April, showed the 2026 guidance of $1.625B in segment EBITDA was table stakes: Adjusted EBITDA came in at $325.6M and Aerospace Products revenue more than doubled with segment EBITDA up 70%. And 270 CFM56 modules were refurbished, up 96% year-over-year. The second quarter, reported late July, saw the Aviation Leasing segment guidance cut from $575M to $475M as part of the company's shift toward a more ***** et-light business model. Well, this was ugly in every conceivable way. However, the Diamondbacks can perhaps be forgiven for being "off" this evening in Boston, as matters off the field took center stage. Face of the franchise Ketel Marte no-showed at Fenway Park this afternoon, forcing a roster change with just minutes to go before first pitch, as he was placed on the restricted list. Mitch Bratt had a bad start, Zack Littell showed why he got DFA'd, and the offense was barely more present than Marte, as the D-backs lost the opening game of the series against the Red Sox, by a large margin, which accurately reflected the tenor and tone of this one.
The weirdness began with the late announcement of the team's line-up. And when I say late, there was less than ten minutes to go before first pitch, and there was still nothing from the D-backs. Finally, a late, shocking roster move was announced. Ketel Marte had been placed on the restricted list, with Jose Fernandez replacing him. Fortunately, Fernandez was in town anyway, as possible coverage had Nolan Arenado had to go on the injured list. That was avoided – Arenado is officially day-to-day with his trunk issue (I'm going to keep calling it that!) – so he could take Marte's spot on the roster.
But what had happened to Ketel? Everyone was stunned, even John Gambadoro, who usually is very good at having the pulse of the team, called the move "so unexpected." It was known that Marte had flown to Boston with the team – his Instagram feed made that clear, with a report of teammate Corbin Carroll winning NL Player of the Week being the last post. But he wasn't at Fenway for batting practice. The team gave him as long as possible, but eventually had to pull the trigger. Nick Piecoro had as much an explanation as anyone: "I'm told Ketel Marte is doing OK physically, he just didn't show up to the ballpark tonight."
While we all pondered what that might mean – especially given Marte's previous willingness to go AWOL, necessitating a trip to the restricted list – there was still a game going on. Sort of. In the sense that only Boston seemed to turn up. From the first pitch, it seemed that starter Mitch Bratt was not on form, with his pitches a couple of miles per hour down on normal. Considering he has been a command and control guy, rather than a power one, this wasn't good. But the command wasn't there either. He walked two in the first and, though Bratt was able to strand them, a lead-off walk in the second came round to score, plus one more, for a 2-0 Red Sox lead.
After one more inning, and one more run, Bratt was done for the night after 65 pitches. His final line: three innings of work, allowing three earned runs on four hits and three walks. He was basically a shadow of his previous three starts, where he tossed 18 innings and allowed three runs. The team turned to Zack Littell as the long relief mop-up guy, and it's safe to say his second outing wasn't anywhere near as good as his previous one either. To be blunt, we ki

Millions of fans are mourning Hayden Panettiere after the heartbreaking news that she passed away at the age of 36 on August 16. With new details emerging, it's been revealed that she traveled from Los Angeles to South Carolina just one day before her sudden death, spending her final hours inside an apartment where emergency crews would later rush to save her.
Hayden Panettiere struggled with addictions to opioids and alcohol (@ Getty)
The "Heroes" and "Nashville" actress, 36, was found unresponsive Sunday afternoon inside a residence at the Judson Mill Lofts in Greenville. She had been temporarily staying at the property, which Page Six confirmed was an Airbnb.
Panettiere had flown to South Carolina on Saturday with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. Sources told TMZ that Hickerson and his brother were living in the apartment, but it's unclear who was inside when Panettiere was found.
A neighbor told Page Six she appeared to spend most, if not all, of her brief stay inside the unit. They said they were "shocked" to find out she was there. "I don't know that she was there long, and I'm not sure she even ever left the apartment, they told the outlet.

Thanks to an overtime victory against the Atlanta Dream on Sunday night, the Indiana Fever have won four straight games. They're 23-12, owners of the fourth-best record in the WNBA, and if the playoffs were to start today, they'd host the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the playoffs.
For Indiana, it's been an up-and-down season — filled with plenty of highs and plenty of lows. A litany of off-court storylines have dominated their year, from Sophie Cunningham's controversial comments on trans women in sports, to hard fouls that have taken on a life of their own, to Fever fans booing head coach Stephanie White. These controversies have dominated so much that the (elite) on-court product has almost flown under the radar.
But the Fever are just two games behind the Golden State Valkyries for second place in the standings. They have the third-best point differential in the league, and two legitimate MVP candidates in Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark, who are the league's second and third-leading scorers, trailing only four-time MVP A'ja Wilson.
Clark is averaging 22 points and 8.3 ******* ists, while putting together the most efficient season of her career, shooting 45% from the field and 35.4% from three. Mitchell is averaging 24.2 points on 50.3% shooting, while hitting 43.7% of her threes.
Both players came up huge in Sunday's overtime win over the Atlanta Dream, with Clark finishing with 26 points and 9 ******* ists and Mitchell adding 20 points. Mitchell has now scored at least 20 points in 19 consecutive games, the longest single-season streak in WNBA history. Clark has scored at least 25 points in 8 games this season, becoming the first-ever point guard to accomplish that feat.

According to FOX59/CBS4's Mike Chappell, Indianapolis Colts longtime general manager Chris Ballard clarified on Tuesday in Foxborough to the covering media that starting wide receiver Alec Pierce did not actually receive a 2nd PRP injection in late June—contradicting an earlier circulating report:
Per Colts GM Chris Ballard: WR Alec Pierce did not have a second PRP injection. Clearing up confusion. Been rehabbing since March surgery. Feel good where he's at.
The plan is still for Pierce to ready for the Colts regular season opener at home against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, September 13th.
That being said, Ballard did indicate that Pierce's injury was both to his ankle and heel.
It will be interesting to see if Pierce can make it back by the time training camp ends, because the Colts have just four training camp practices left this offseason. Time at Colts camp has simply flown by.

The NFL preseason is quickly approaching for the Los Angeles Rams and so is a decision from defensive end Aaron Donald.
Donald has not played for the Rams since the conclusion of the 2023 season. The Rams already are considered to be the favorites to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season, and the addition of Donald would only further those odds.
Head coach Sean McVay has provided updates regarding Donald, who was recently listed as having a workout with the Rams in recent days.
The Rams followed NFL rules, listing Donald as someone who participated in a workout on the league transaction wire, which is required if the player uses team equipment, such as a helmet.
When speaking with reporters on Thursday, McVay had also mentioned that Donald had flown his speed trainer out to Los Angeles from Pittsburgh.

The Broncos are a little bit banged up at the wide receiver position. Star receiver Jaylen Waddle suffered some sort of strain, according to head coach Sean Payton, and is expected to be back in about "4 to 5 days". Not the end of the world, but likely sidelines him into next week and for the Broncos preseason opener on Friday Night. Then, at the end of Friday's practice, Marvin Mims Jr. suffered some sort of lower body injury. He pulled up from a route and immediately went off to the field with a trainer before going back to the locker room. No word on the extent of the injury, but he's likely sidelined for a little bit at least.
So, with the wide receiver room looking a little thin, the team added some depth. They announced that they have signed undrafted rookie wide receiver Kyre Duplessis. The Denver Post's Luca Evans is reporting that the team is also signing Kyrese Rowan, who spent time with the team last season.
Both players were brought in for tryouts during Friday's practice, and Duplessis looked the best and was signed by the Broncos. However, after Mims went down with the injury, the team called Kyrese Rowan, who had already flown back home, to come back to Denver because they wanted to sign him too. He is expected to have his physical this morning and then officially sign with the team soon after.
Rowan was invited to the Broncos' rookie minicamp last season after he went undrafted and then unsigned during the UDFA signing period. He impressed the Broncos coaches enough that they decided to sign him to their 90-man roster. However, he was among their final cuts, and they decided not to sign him to their practice squad at that time. His story does not end there because in October, Rowan was signed to the Broncos' practice squad, where he stayed until December, when he was released to make room for Elijah Moore. A week later, Rowan was back on the Broncos' practice squad. He did not receive a futures deal from the team and remained unsigned throughout the offseason. Now, with the Broncos needing some depth at the wide receiver position, Rowan is back with the team.
As for Duplessis, he is an undrafted rookie out of Coastal Carolina and Delaware who has spent time with the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks this offseason. The 5-11, 193-pound receiver brings 4.6 speed and some return experience to the Broncos while also adding some backend depth to their wide receiver room.

Lewis Hamilton is enjoying the summer break. In his latest Instagram post, the seven-time world champion also shared his first photos with Halo, his new puppy.
After a rather positive first half of the season, during which he won his first Grand Prix with Ferrari in Barcelona, despite making some mistakes in the later rounds, he sits second in the drivers' standings behind Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli and ahead of George Russell.
Hamilton is now gearing up for the second half of the season, he shared on social media. He wrote: "Resting, restoring, recharging."
In this post, Hamilton shared his first photos with his new puppy, Halo. She is a golden retriever who was flown to Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. She will have the same trainer as Roscoe and Coco, Kirstin McMillan. Hamilton shared new photos with Kim Kardashian as well.
Emerson Fittipaldi could relate to Hamilton during the previous season, and the former two-time world champion is happy to see the Ferrari driver perform better in 2026.

Former Teen Mom: Young + Pregnant cast member Rachel Beaver says she exchanged private messages with Lil Wayne while attempting to arrange an in-person meeting with the rapper.
Screenshots published by entertainment outlets appear to show discussions about flights, childcare and scheduling the proposed visit around Beaver's birthday. The plans never progressed beyond the messages, and the two did not meet.
The Ashley's Reality Roundup first published Beaver's account on June 3rd. TMZ revisited the story approximately two months later and released additional details from the alleged exchange.
The Ashley said it reviewed videos showing that the initial direct messages came from Wayne's official Instagram account. Wayne has not publicly confirmed that he participated in the subsequent text conversations.
Beaver told TMZ that she contacted Wayne after people watching one of her TikTok livestreams encouraged her to message him. Her opening message referenced former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans, who previously claimed that Wayne had flown her to Los Angeles.

Bruno Guimaraes was reportedly scheduled to link up with the Newcastle United squad at La Manga on Sunday night.
The other Newcastle United players having flown to the pre-season training camp on Friday.
Bruno Guimaraes having extended leave after his World Cup involvement and reported to be flying direct from Brazil to Spain and arrive on Sunday (yesterday).
However, Keith Downie of Sky Sports on Monday morning reporting: 'Bruno Guimaraes failed to arrive at La Manga to meet up with his Newcastle United team-mates at their pre-season training base as planned on Sunday night.'
The Sky Sports man though quickly correcting that, no doubt the club in touch I guess, Keith Downie: "MORE ON THIS… Bruno Guimarães left Brazil on Sunday as agreed with the club and is arriving to join the group today. Newcastle are relaxed about the situation and happy that he's done everything asked."

Dortmund have high hopes for the highly rated attacking prospect, who has already caught the eye during the club's summer preparations. Although the 17-year-old made only one brief Bundesliga appearance last season, he has looked sharp in pre-season and even found the net against Fortuna Düsseldorf.Kovač was quick to highlight the youngster's qualities.
"You can see what abilities he has. He's fast, strong in the air, and I have to say he put in a lot of effort," the Dortmund coach said after the match.Known for demanding a high level of defensive discipline from his players, Kovač has clearly been pleased with Albert's willingness to improve without the ball. The teenager admitted that the increased tactical and physical demands have helped take his game to another level.
"It has helped me take a certain aspect of my game to a new level. Before, I wasn't the best in some areas, but this has motivated me to work much harder. There are higher demands, such as the work rate and the **** e that needs to be covered, especially in the new, more central position. This has definitely helped my game a lot."
Albert, who regards Kylian Mbappé as his role model, is not lacking in ambition. Looking beyond pre-season, the American youngster has set himself lofty goals at the club.
My dream is to become an important player for the club and to stand out, to be a true leader and help the team win games. I don't want to reduce my game to just statistics. My main goal is to get better every day and develop as much as possible," he told Sky.Reflecting on his rapid rise, Albert admitted that the past six months have flown by."Training with the professionals every day and improving as a player was fantastic,"he said.

The 2026 MLB All-Star Game will not go down in history as one of the most memorable Midsummer Classics in the near-century-long history of the event. Highlights on the field were few and far between, broadcast debacles and poorly-executed ideas compromised the viewing experience, and several distracting pieces of vaguely baseball-themed pageantry bloated the presentation of a contest which would have otherwise flown by.
But for our decidedly narrower purposes here at Pinstripe Alley, the game was a splendid success. The American League defeated the National League 4-0 at Citizens Bank Park, fueled by a first-inning rally which was paid off by both Yankees representatives in John Schneider’s starting lineup. The man who drove in the first two runs, Cody Bellinger, was eventually named All-Star Game MVP, the fourth Yankee to ever win the honor. The AL pitching staff limited the NL to just three hits all night in a tidy victory for the Junior Circuit.
The game was listed as beginning at 8pm ET, but fans needn’t have worried about missing the first pitch, which came almost a full half-hour later. All the pomp and circumstance gave way to a dream start for the AL—and the little Yankee contingent nestled within their starting lineup. Phillies ace Cristopher Sánchez received the opportunity to start the All-Star Game on his home mound, but he may have been a bit nervous. His command was sporadic as the AL built a rally on a Yordan Alvarez single and a pair of walks. With two outs, Cody Bellinger came up with an opportunity to stake his side to an early advantage.
There are more ideal scenarios to face Bellinger than with two runners in scoring position and a left-handed pitcher on the mound.

FIRST ON FOX: More details are emerging after an American flag was displayed upside down at a Somali Independence Day event in Minnesota, sparking both outrage and apologies in a situation that has gone viral on social media in recent days.
The St. Cloud Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that on July 3 at 5:29 p.m., the department received a call that the U.S. flag was being flown upside down on a city flagpole at the Lake George Park Pavilion during a Somali Independence Day event.
A video from that event, exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, showed the flag upside down as event attendees, roughly 500 people at peak times, enjoyed the festivities. The department said the officer "corrected the flag without objection" and that organizers "indicated to City staff that the flag being flown upside down was not intentional."
Despite the claim that the flag was flown upside down by accident, some in the community are skeptical that the error was not noticed by anyone at the event, including the local politicians who were giving speeches and various organizations like the AFL-CIO and the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), who had booths set up.

Well, what do we have here? Based on multiple reports, the cows have come home, ******* has frozen over, and pigs have flown. That's because somewhere, somehow, the four most historic Ohio basketball programs are getting together to play an event on the same court. That's right. Ohio State, Cincinnati, Xavier, and Dayton are all set to play in the CareSource Invitational, an exhibition event to raise awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention.
So which of the other three teams will the Buckeyes play? They will be matched up with Cincinnati, while the other game will pit Dayton vs. Xavier. To add a little intrigue, the game will take place outdoors at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, home of the Cincinnati Open, on October 7, very early on in the preseason. If the weather becomes an issue, the event will be moved to UD Arena in Dayton. However, the preference is clearly to have this thing be an outdoor event to add to the atmosphere.
“I think this is great. This is great for the basketball community in Ohio. And it’s been a long time coming,” Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler said on Thursday. “I’ve been vocal about this since I first got the job and wanted something like this to happen. There are so many moving parts. There are so many moving parts to make something like this happen. It takes a lot of people. And I’m just excited. Everyone got together to make it happen.”
We've been calling for an annual event like this for a while here on Buckeyes Wire, and we'll have more on that later, but for now, the only way you can see the CareSource Invitational is to purchase tickets because it will not be televised. When information on how to get your hands on some tickets becomes available, we'll bring that information to you.

Confusion is growing over the situation for Roma target Mason Greenwood, as Fenerbahce released a formal statement denying reports they are in France for talks with Olympique Marseille.
The pursuit of the former Manchester United winger has been dragging on for weeks, and it was rumoured that Roma were about to make their first formal offer worth €45m including add-ons.

Just as that seemed to be imminent, Turkish transfer expert Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claimed that Fenerbahce had made a new and improved bid close to the €50m asking price.
On top of that, he said that two Fenerbahce figures had flown out to France for face to face talks.

Christian and Mathi Ott had planned their trip to Houston for months. They were going to watch Curaçao, the tiny Caribbean nation making its World Cup debut, take on Germany. Then, about an hour before kickoff, the email came: Their tickets weren’t going to work.
The Otts, from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, told WPDE-TV they’d bought their tickets through a resale site and suddenly had nothing. They were told to wait because tickets sometimes get released right before a match, so they waited outside the stadium, increasingly certain they’d flown across the country to stand in a parking lot. Eventually, they scrambled and paid dearly for last-minute replacements, making it in, but the day had been a stressful, expensive mess.
The real turn came the next day. Their flight home got delayed, so they killed time at an airport bar, where they fell into conversation with a friendly man and his wife. The Otts launched into the saga of their nightmare trip with a couple of sympathetic strangers. Then the man’s wife said something to him, and he looked back at the Otts.
“He looks at her, then back at us, and says, ‘Well, I’m the prime minister of Curaçao,'” Mathi recalled to the TV station. The friendly guy at the bar turned out to be Gilmar Pisas, the leader of the country whose team they’d flown to Houston to support.
Pisas, apparently charmed that two South Carolinians had gone to all this trouble for his nation’s debut, made them an offer on the spot.

Reports based on recent flight records say Taylor Swift's private jet may have produced more carbon in about three months than the entire 2024 legs of the Eras Tour did.
Figures reported by International Business Times UK from aviation tracking service JetSpy say Swift's Dassault Falcon 7X returned to service in early March and has since flown 81 times, spending 169 hours airborne.
The aircraft reportedly burned about 60,560 gallons of fuel and generated roughly 639 tons of carbon pollution. That likely exceeds the roughly 557 tons **** ociated with the entire 2024 stretch of the Eras Tour, as calculated by the IB Times.
The plane's activity rose sharply over the spring, going from four flights in March to 19 in April. It also had an average of one flight per day in May. Some of those flights reportedly allowed Swift to appear in Los Angeles and New York within a day of each other.
Critics say the issue goes well beyond one celebrity because private aviation is among the dirtiest forms of travel.

Millie Bobby Brown is definitely no stranger to big action sequences, and she has the receipts to prove it! For instance, the teaser trailer for Enola Holmes 3 sees the actress running, jumping across staircases and wielding a shotgun on a moving carriage. With all of these high-intensity action scenes, it's fitting that the Stranger Things icon recently called herself a "female Tom Cruise." On that note, I also just found out Brown and the Mission: Impossible actor are real-life pals, and their hangouts even involve helicopters.
Tom Cruise became very familiar with helicopters while filming of Mission: Impossible—Fallout. After going through some intense prep work to achieve that insane chopper chase scene in the action flick, he became a licensed pilot. And, per Millie Bobby Brown, the blockbuster star has apparently been trying to extend that love of the craft to her. The British actor recently spoke at the 92nd Street Y for a recording of an upcoming Happy Sad Confused podcast episode and revealed (via People) that she'd "flown his helicopter before:" She also said this about her buddy:
He's a dear friend. He's a wonderful man and I'm very lucky to call him my friend. Tom does the craziest stuff. I think he's trying to get me to somehow fly a plane at some point.
Oh my! Then again, I guess I shouldn't have expected anything less from the daredevil of an actor. Funny enough, though, I'm not sure Brown wants to take him up further helicopter flights or a theoretical plane excursion:

Dave Berke's career in aviation began after watching 'Top Gun' at age 13, inspiring his path.
Berke, a Marine Corps fighter pilot, flew top jets, including the F-22 Raptor and F-35B Lightning II.
