NEW YORK, July 27 (Reuters) - The former JPMorgan Chase banker whose lurid **** ual harassment lawsuit went viral added new claims and defendants on Monday, saying the largest U.S. bank's acceptance of racism and **** ual coercion irreparably destroyed his career.
Chirayu Rana said racism was ingrained in the culture of his otherwise all-white leveraged finance team, where his South Asian heritage "became the punchline for a stream of degrading jokes," including calling him a "monkey" and "brown boy."
JPMorgan has said it believed Rana's allegations were meritless. Neither the bank nor its lawyers had an immediate comment.
In an 82-page complaint, Rana, who is of Nepali descent, added allegations that colleagues suggested he transact in rupees, and one texted that he should "run before we call ICEE {sic} on your family," referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The schedule for the cricket events at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, **** an, has been announced, with defending champions India receiving direct entry into the quarter-finals in both the men's and women's T20 tournaments.
Cricket will be played in the T20 format and will have full international status. The women's competition will run from September 17 to 22, while the men's tournament will take place from September 24 to October 1 at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi Prefecture.

She knows that every stranger who pays for her body could end her life. But she also knows their money is the only thing preventing her death.
This spot, littered in condom wrappers and fringed by jungle, is familiar to her. Rubi Lama once came here not as a **** worker, but as an aid worker who helped **** workers.
For nine years, Lama — who is transgender — had devoted her life to conducting HIV outreach in Nepal's marginalized communities, including the LGBTQ+ **** workers who wait by this highway each night. But after the United States slashed its foreign aid funding last year, Lama and more than 280,000 aid workers worldwide found themselves out of a job.
Much has been written about the devastating impacts the U.S. foreign aid cuts have had on the millions of people the funding once helped. Far less is known about the impacts on the helpers themselves.

NEW DELHI: India captain Shreyas Iyer reserved special praise for teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after the 15-year-old produced a breathtaking match-winning knock to power India to a seven-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the opening T20I in Harare on Thursday.
Sooryavanshi smashed 50 off just 19 ***** , bringing up his maiden international half-century in only 18 deliveries as India chased down 126 in just 13.2 overs. King Charles III has praised the "determination and commitment" of the newly formed King's Gurkha Artillery unit.
The monarch watched as the troops took part in a formation parade at Larkhill Barracks in Wiltshire.
The King was greeted with a 21-gun salute and presented with a large traditional mala flower garland, which was placed around his neck.
The parade celebrated the creation of the Army's first dedicated Gurkha Artillery Unit. King Charles said it showed the "enduring and deeply valued relationship between the United Kingdom and Nepal".

Dawa Sherpa was last seen around May 29 descending the mountain, but he did not make it to base camp even though his client did. The pair were among the last climbers on the mountain as the climbing season came to an end and the route was dismantled.
Dawa was located by a cleaning crew Thursday morning as he was crawling down the snowy slopes around the Khumbu Icefall, just above base camp, said Pemba Sherpa of 8K Expeditions, which was coordinating the search.
He was quickly carried down to safety and given food and water. A rescue helicopter flew him to HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu, where his wife and daughter, who had already begun funeral rituals for him, were waiting.
"We first heard that he was still alive on the local news and from a person we know who called with the news that ... he is being brought down," his wife, Damu Sherpa, said.
