ATLANTA (AP) — Onyeka Okongwu scored a season-high 29 points and had 12 rebounds, leading the Atlanta Hawks to a 114-111 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.
Atlanta snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 3-3, and halted Cleveland's three-game winning streak. The Cavs are 3-2.

Yamaha has locked in its Moto2 line-up for 2027, signing Moto3 standout Álvaro Carpe to join the returning Alberto Ferrández on the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team. Both riders are 19 and represent Yamaha's ongoing push to funnel young talent up through the categories via its BLU CRU project.
Ferrandez is currently in his first full Moto2 season, partnering with Izan Guevara with the Pramac Yamaha team. They came for a party.
Over 2,000 miles away, their Valkyries tipped off against the Atlanta Dream in a potential championship-clinching Game 6 at 12:30 p.m. local time — or 9:30 a.m. in the Bay Area.
With a trophy on the line for the 2-year-old franchise, fans arrived as early as 7 a.m. Staff reported 30 minutes later, and the bar opened at 8:30 a.m. Some asked bosses to move shifts, requested PTO, or called in sick. Layne Riggs remained firmly in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship contention Friday, finishing eighth in the Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway. The Front Row Motorsports driver started ninth, led six laps and competed near the front throughout much of the afternoon. Riggs demonstrated impressive speed early, finishing fifth in Stage 1 before improving to second in Stage 2.
His No. 34 Ford continued running among the leaders during the final stage, allowing him to challenge Kaden Honeycutt and several other championship contenders. Riggs appeared positioned for a potential victory when he restarted on the outside of the front row alongside Sammy Smith in overtime.

They needed to gain confidence back following two losses marred by offensive woes. They emphasized how each could take a superstar turn, but everyone was needed.
By the end of the day's film and a final practice ahead of a must-win Game 6, they said they felt good about returning to Atlanta Dream basketball. They proved the talk true immediately.

It was, for a while, considered one of those colorful quirks that crop up in the course of an election: the fact that not one but two candidates named Dan Sullivan will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot for U.S. senator from Alaska.
One Dan Sullivan — Dan S. Sullivan — is the state's incumbent Republican senator. He is trying to fend off a fierce challenge from former Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola and secure a third term. The other Dan Sullivan — Dan J. Sullivan — is a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle. He has never previously campaigned for public office, and he switched his registration from "unaffiliated" to "Republican" just before the deadline to run. (He has since switched back to unaffiliated.)
But now the situation seems to be getting more serious. At President Trump's direction, the Justice Department last week sued in federal court to block certification of the election if Sen. Dan S. Sullivan loses, alleging that retired teacher Dan J. Sullivan is a Democratic plant whose purpose is to siphon away votes.
Then, on Wednesday, the New York Times published an extensive investigation that appears to substantiate that allegation, calling it "Democrats' secret effort to stack Alaska's ballot."
"The Times has found, based on interviews and text messages, along with documents prepared for a potential lawsuit against the campaign, that not only did Ms. Peltola's team work with people trying to recruit Mr. Sullivan to run for Senate, but the effort was much broader," the paper wrote. "The group worked to coax other would-be spoilers into the race, to dilute the incumbent's support and help catapult the Democrat to victory."
