We'll keep track of every time a Dodgers player is optioned to the minor leagues during the 2026 season.
Details on these transactions can also be found on our 40-man roster tracker, but here we will chronicle every specific time a player gets sent down, relative to the limits set by MLB.
Major League rule 7(d) states that a player cannot be optioned to the minors more than five times during a single season. If a player who has been optioned five times is called back to the majors, they cannot be sent back down to the minors without being placed on waivers first.
For purposes of this rule, only options after opening day count. So anyone sent down during spring training won't have that count against the limit of five.
In 2025, as one example, reliever Will Klein was optioned to the minors five times during the regular season, first with the Seattle Mariners and then with the Dodgers.

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Ousmane Diomande on a four-year deal.
The Ivory Coast international arrives at the City Ground from Portuguse side Sporting with Forest paying a fixed fee of €40 million (approx £34.1 million), with no add-ons, for the player's registration. Diomande has now signed a deal running until 2030, with the club holding an option to extend it by a further year.
Diomande was on duty with Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup this summer, where he featured in just one match, against Curaçao. The defender did not play any pre-season games for Sporting, although he was named on the bench for the opening match of the Primeira Liga, against Estrela da Amadora last weekend.
The centre-back took his first steps in football at FC OSA, before moving to the youth setup at Midtjylland. In 2022/23, he was loaned to CD Mafra and, in January of that season, made the move to the Alvalade club, who paid €14.5 million for his services.

They've won three World Series since 2020, including the last two in a row, and built a roster that keeps pushing the limits of what a superteam looks like. They spend big, develop talent, maintain a deep farm system and just added Tarik Skubal for good measure.

So it's no surprise that preseason magazines rank the Nittany Lions in the middle of the pack or worse in the Big Ten, even with a massive turnover at that position.
Forgive the new receivers if they feel slighted.
"I like being the underdog because that means you didn't see me coming," senior Chase Sowell said. "A lot of underdogs overcome a lot of stuff. Indiana did last year. You better look out for us."
Sowell and fellow Iowa State transfer Brett Eskildsen combined for 62 receptions, 1,026 yards and seven touchdowns last season with the Cyclones. They're likely to be the starters in an offense that will often use two tight ends.

The Washington Commanders entered training camp believing they had one of the NFL's best left tackles protecting Jayden Daniels. That plan has taken a devastating hit.
Five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil suffered a torn triceps during one-on-one pass-rush drills, according to reports from Adam Schefter and Steve Wyche. Tunsil will likely require surgery and is expected to miss a significant portion of the regular season.
There are few offensive linemen capable of replacing what Tunsil provides. Washington acquired him to protect Daniels' blind side and provide stability at one of football's most important positions. Now, the Commanders must rearrange their offensive line weeks before the regular season begins.
Andrew Wylie is expected to move to left tackle, with Josh Conerly remaining on the right side. Brandon Coleman started at left tackle in 2024, but Washington had already moved him inside to guard. The 2026 Dallas Cowboys team is just a week away from the start of their 2026 preseason schedule. As we near that date and the midway point of training camp, a couple of things seem to stand out as standards as the Cowboys go through camp.
Dallas started camp with a level of intensity that fans just haven't seen in Oxnard in a while; even the practices without pads had some oomph. For an offense that still features plenty of players who played under former head coach Mike McCarthy, that physicality is particularly noticeable. McCarthy's teams weren't necessarily known for bringing that type of edge to training camp, making the change under the Cowboys' current coaching staff a welcome development.
Of course, intensity in training camp doesn't automatically translate to success once the regular season begins, but for a team that has spent the offseason emphasizing toughness and accountability, seeing that mentality show up consistently on the practice field is encouraging. For Cowboys fans who have spent the past few seasons asking for a more physical identity, the early returns in Oxnard are certainly worth watching.
The second noticeable theme has been the defense's attention to detail. Rather than relying solely on individual talent to make plays, the Cowboys coaches have emphasized getting everyone to execute their ****** ignments and communicate within the scheme.

It's been a rough week for the Chicago Bears on the injury front, especially after top safety Coby Bryant suffered a leg injury that's expected to sideline him for extended time. Thursday's padded training camp practice saw four more injuries, including to left tackle Braxton Jones.
Jones, who's the front runner to be the starting left tackle, exited Thursday's practice after a set of 1-on-1s against defensive end Austin Booker. He was "visibly frustrated," according to Adam Hoge, and he tried to walk it off before heading inside with trainer Andre Tucker.
But there's good news. According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, Jones appears to have avoided a significant injury during Thursday's practice.
"The initial belief is that the injury isn't long-term in nature with the base case scenario (after the team gathers more info on the extent) being one where Jones would be considered day to day," Cronin wrote.
With Jones sidelined -- he did not return to practice -- it was Kiran Amegadjie stepping in to work with the first-team offense. Veteran free-agent addition Jedrick Wills Jr. ran with the second-team offense.

Georgia produces enough high-level football talent to fill recruiting boards across the country, so narrowing the state's senior class down to 11 players is no small distinction.
Clemson football running back commit Gary Walker made that elite group Wednesday when the Atlanta Journal-Constitution named him to its 2026 Super 11. The annual honor has recognized Georgia's top 11 senior football players since 1985, with a list of past selections that includes Charlie Ward, Eric Berry and Travis Hunter.
Walker earned his place after a dominant junior season at Creekside High School. The four-star prospect rushed for 1,669 yards and 20 touchdowns while helping the Seminoles finish 15-0 and capture the Georgia Class 4A state championship.
Walker delivered one more productive performance in the championship game for Creekside, rushing for 149 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries during Creekside's 42-39 victory over Benedictine.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also named him an all-state selection and a first-team All-Southside player following the season.

UCLA's redshirt junior quarterback Nico Iamaleava was named to the 90th Maxwell Award watch list for his second year with the Bruins, according to the Maxwell Football Club.
The Maxwell Award is given to the Collegiate Player of the Year with the last recipient being former Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who was picked No. 1 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2026 NFL Draft. In the preseason watchlist, the Big Ten Conference leads all conferences with 17 nominees with the SEC following with 16 and the Big 12 and the ACC with 15 players each.

The Houston Texans had four different players who recorded four interceptions last season, including both of their starting safeties - Calen Bullock and Jalen Pitre.
Even though Bullock and Pitre are still with the Texans, they decided to increase their safety depth by signing Philadelphia Eagles starter Reed Blankenship in the offseason.
After spending four seasons with the Eagles, including the 2024 season when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. While he has not recorded an interception in the postseason, he does have nine career interceptions, including four in 2024.
Cornerback Kamari Lassiter said Blankenship has been a good addition to the team and has meshed well with the other players.
"Any time you can add a really good football player to your team, it's great," Lassiter said. "Reed is a good football player. He came in and he meshes really well with us. He plays with confidence. He plays fast. He plays physical. He's just like one of us. We get along really well. We communicate really well. It's going to be real fun this year."

Well, let's start with the good feelings. There was a sentimental feeling percolating around the Yard well before tonight's game, with a team Hall of Fame induction ceremony that saw former O's slugger Chris Davis, 1983 World Series Champion Storm Davis, and late scout Jim Russo all get their green jackets. Both Storm and Chris were in attendance, along with lots of their former teammates, including, to give short pre-game remarks and stop by the MASN booth to chat about their favorite memories.
It was cool to learn that Storm Davis actually served as a mentor to a young Ben McDonald, then a rookie pitcher, now a MASN ****** yst, but I was especially sentimental about Davis's reminiscences, which covered the especially sweet 2012-16 years, when the O's led the AL in wins. The week before the Jacksonville Jaguars opened training camp, Hunter was photographed wearing a police vest posing with Sheriff T.K. Waters and members of the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department. It had the look of a ride-along, though Hunter wasn't saying.
"I was just out there just having fun with Sheriff T.K.," Hunter said Friday.
Hunter, the Heisman Trophy winner out of Colorado whom the Jaguars made the No. 2 pick in last year's draft, has enough to keep him occupied in training camp. Hunter is returning from injury, his rookie year ending two months into the season when he tore knee ligaments during noncontact drills.
In seven games, he played 324 snaps at receiver and 162 snaps at cornerback. The plan to use him on both sides of the ball has not changed, especially after the Jaguars shored up the core of their secondary by re-signing Montaric "Buster" Brown in March.

On Friday, the Shooting Stars competition and 3-Point Contest occurred—and both lived up to the hype.
There were plenty of worthy shooters involved in the 3-Point Contest, but in the end, Dallas Wings rookie Azzi Fudd took home the trophy. She became the first rookie ever to win the competition. She had 24 points in the first round and then upped the ante, scoring 30 in the final.
Fudd's 30-point performance defeated the Portland Fire's Bridget Carleton, who had just 19 points in the final round after scoring 27 points in the first round.

The Norwegian Football Federation is considering filing a formal complaint to Fifa's ethics committee about the decision to suspend Folarin Balogun's automatic one-man ban during the World Cup.
United States forward Balogun was expected to miss his side's last-16 tie against Belgium after being shown a straight red card during their 2-0 win over Bosnia- Herzegovina.
