With the noise around free agency quieting, Green made an appearance at Chase Center on Sunday evening in support of the Golden State Valkyries. Green was in attendance on Sunday for the Valkyries contest against the Toronto Tempo.
Green was spotted talking with Golden State Warriors principal owner Joe Lacob courtside at Chase Center during the Valkyries game on Sunday night.
With Green in attendance, the Valkyries showed off, running away from the Tempo, 96-79, improving their record to 20-9 on the season. Janelle Salaun came off the bench to lead the way for the Valkyries, scoring 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field in 30 minutes. Veronica Burton tallied 17 points with three made 3-pointers while Gabby Williams added 15 points against the Tempo.
At 20-9, the Valkyries are tied with the Las Vegas Aces for the second-best record in the WNBA, trailing only the Minnesota Lynx.

Golden State Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase says sports are about "inclusivity" after being asked about Sophie Cunningham's latest remarks about transgender athletes competing in women's sports.
Sophie Cunningham, a second-string guard for the Indiana Fever, has made quite the splash over the last few weeks, prompting backlash from fans and triggering support from some others.
There's been much debate on whether transgender athletes belong in women's sports, and over the last few weeks, Cunningham has made it clear that she disagrees with that.
"I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I'm like, 'I never once said that,'" Cunningham said in a previous interview. "I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men."
Nakase was asked about Cunningham's stance recently, and in her response, she said that sports are about being welcoming to all, not about excluding any one person.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Janelle Salaun came off the bench to score 24 points, Veronica Burton contributed 17 points and six ***** ists, and the Golden State Valkyries used their stingy defense down the stretch to hold off the Toronto Tempo for a 96-79 win Sunday night.
Gabby Williams and Tiffany Hayes scored 15 points apiece in the first of back-to-back matchups between the teams at Chase Center, where a raucous sellout crowd cheered Golden State ending a two-game skid that followed a nine-game winning streak.
Salaun shot 9 for 15 with four 3-pointers, putting Golden State ahead 66-59 on a 3 with 1:30 left in the third. She just missed her career-high of 26 set July 8 at Toronto.
Burton converted a three-point play with 6:55 remaining in the game then a steal with 6:14 remaining that led to Salaun's three-point play moments later that put the Valkyries ahead 80-68.
Nyara Sabally had 19 points and eight rebounds for the expansion Tempo, who began a five-game road trip by losing their sixth straight game and 10th in their last 11.

On Friday, the Shooting Stars competition and 3-Point Contest occurred—and both lived up to the hype.
There were plenty of worthy shooters involved in the 3-Point Contest, but in the end, Dallas Wings rookie Azzi Fudd took home the trophy. She became the first rookie ever to win the competition. She had 24 points in the first round and then upped the ante, scoring 30 in the final.
Fudd's 30-point performance defeated the Portland Fire's Bridget Carleton, who had just 19 points in the final round after scoring 27 points in the first round.

The WNBA season is in full swing, and Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have delivered strong viewership for the league.
In primetime on Saturday, the New York Liberty-Indiana Fever matchup averaged 2.58 million viewers on CBS. The game is the most-watched WNBA telecast ever on CBS, and the second-most-watched WNBA game this season, behind Fever-Las Vegas Aces (2.64 million) last Sunday on NBC and Peacock.
Overall, the game is the third-most-watched WNBA regular season game since 2000. Chicago Sky-Fever to open last season on ABC is the most-watched with 2.70 million viewers.
On other networks this week, games featuring Clark and the Fever also posted record viewership. On Wednesday, the Golden State Valkyries-Fever matchup on USA Network averaged 1.14 million viewers. According to Sports Media Watch, that is the most-watched game on USA Network this season.

Despite being an All-Star snub, Azzi Fudd will still head to Chicago this weekend to participate in the WNBA's 3-point contest. She'll be joined by the Portland Fire's Bridget Carleton, the Seattle Storm's Natisha Hiedeman, the Atlanta Dream's Rhyne Howard, the Toronto Tempo's Marina Mabrey and the Golden State Valkyries' Janelle Salaun.
As a rookie with the Dallas Wings, Fudd is only shooting 38.8 percent from deep, though she's tied for the 10th-most makes in the league with 50. She's also made at least three shots from behind the arc in four consecutive games, the second-longest streak by a rookie since 1998.
During her senior year at UConn, Fudd knocked down triples at a 44.7 percent clip and finished five threes away from the program's single-season record. Throughout her career, she owned a 42.2 3-point percentage, tied for sixth-best in team history.
The 2026 3-point contest will feature two rounds with five shooting locations around the arc. The first four racks will have five game ******* worth one point each along with one money ball worth two points. The final rack will only have money ******* . The two players with the highest scores in the opening round will advance to the final.
Fudd previously participated in a high school 3-point contest back in 2021, which she won despite wearing a walking boot. While she has proven herself to be more than just a shooter, that's still the hallmark of her game.

Cunningham was named the runner-up for Sixth Player of the Year in The Ringer's 2026 WNBA midseason awards, trailing only Golden State Valkyries forward Janelle Salaun. The recognition came as part of a league-wide awards breakdown published by Seerat Sohi on Monday.
The main article from The Ringer praised Cunningham for the energy, shooting and defensive versatility she has brought to Indiana's second unit. It also raised an intriguing possibility for the second half of the season: Cunningham may be playing well enough to force her way into the Fever's starting lineup.
"If Tyasha Harris continues to emerge as a floor general who can lead the second unit, I would not be shocked if Cunningham eventually started," Sohi wrote.

While it didn't take Clark long to reach 600, the 6-foot guard still has quite a long way to go to even come close to the league's all-time regular-season career **** ist leader, Hall of Famer Sue Bird, who has 3,234 **** ists.

Janelle Salaün scored 26 points as the Golden State Valkyries beat Toronto Tempo 83-75 for their sixth straight win, a franchise record and first victory over Toronto.
Golden State led 44-31 with 8:55 left in the third quarter, but Toronto responded with a 15-2 run to take the lead. Julie Allemand's jumper put Toronto ahead, and Maria Conde's 3-pointer boosted their lead. Toronto was ahead 59-57 entering the fourth, and Golden State finished on a 26-16 run to win.
Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase said adversity has become a theme for her team lately.
"Playing through adversity has been the key. The last two games, specifically, we didn't start out really well," Nakase said. "The second unit came to life again, so credit to them for staying ready. That to me is the biggest takeaway right now. We need everybody."

It wasn’t too long ago that the Atlanta Dream had the best record in the WNBA, and the acquisition of star forward Angel Reese via a trade with the Chicago Sky over the offseason was looking like the most prudent move any franchise had made. However, a lot of things have changed since May. Atlanta has lost its last five games, dropping the team to 12-9 and seventh in the standings.
After Atlanta’s latest loss on July 4th, its third in the last five games to the Golden State Valkyries, Reese made it clear that she would be embracing the challenges of being a part of a team with legitimate championship aspirations.
“Championship culture is not supposed to be easy,” Reese said in her post game presser. “We even talk a little bit to (Aaliyah Nye), and she was on Vegas last year when they were going through what they went through, and how did they get out of it, and figuring that out.
“So I think everybody’s just pouring into each other and trying to figure out how we can get over this hump in the easiest way that’s possible. But I just think that we just continue to work. We’re going to just have to continue to work and put our heads down.
“We can’t feel sorry for ourselves because ****** ody else feels sorry for us. And I don’t think we do feel sorry for ourselves. I think everybody’s hungry to suit up again and play another game. Angel Reese's stat line once again showed why she has become one of the WNBA's most dominant forwards. The Atlanta Dream star recorded yet another double-double on Saturday, finishing with 17 points, 13 rebounds, three ******* ists and two steals against the Golden State Valkyries.
But it wasn't Reese's production that had fans talking after the final buzzer. Instead, a controversial offensive foul late in the first half quickly became one of the most debated moments of the WNBA weekend after a slow-motion replay began making the rounds on social media. Once fans saw the play from a different angle, many reached the same conclusion.
With 2:48 remaining in the second quarter, Reese backed down Valkyries forward Laeticia Amihere in the post before spinning toward the basket. Officials immediately whistled Reese for an offensive foul, ruling that her elbow caught Amihere in the face as she made her move.
At full speed, the call appeared fairly routine. However, a slow-motion replay shared online quickly changed the conversation.

Kaila Charles hit a crucial 3-pointer with 1:05 remaining in the fourth quarter, helping the Golden Stale Valkyries to an 88-83 win over the Atlanta Dream on Saturday.
Charles also gained possession on two loose ****** in the final minute of play. She grabbed a jump ball from Veronica Burton, then grabbed a rebound on a missed Rhyne Howard 3-point attempt. Charles hit two free throws with 6.5 seconds left to clinch the victory.
The win was Golden State’s fourth straight, with three of those victories coming against Atlanta in the past 11 days. The Valkyries have won eight of their last 10 games.
Allisha Gray scored 22 points to lead the Dream, while Angel Reese tallied 17 points, 13 rebounds and 3 steals. Rhyne Howard added 19 points, hitting one of two 3-pointers in the final 14 seconds of regulation.

Reese, Howard and Gray were among the biggest snubs in a dubious voting process that's facing scrutiny after ESPN's Alexa Philippou reported Thursday night that only about 85 of the WNBA's roughly 180 players submitted ballots for starters ahead of the July 25 exhibition at Chicago's United Center.

Indiana Fever fans are showing up and showing out to WNBA All-Star voting.
Fever center Aliyah Boston and guard Caitlin Clark are now leading the voting after the second round of returns. Boston has 683,996 votes and Clark, 670,510. Boston is averaging 16.6 points and 8.6 rebounds a game, while Clark ranks third in the league in scoring this season with 21.3 points a game.
The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game will be played in Chicago at United Center on Saturday, July 25 (ABC, 8:30 p.m. ET). WNBA players and media will join fans in selecting the All-Star starters. Fans will account for 50% of the vote and current players and media will make up 25% each.
Boston and Clark are followed in the fan voting by defending WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces (659,057), Paige Bueckers of the Dallas Wings (640,026) and Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty (566,161). Wings forward Jessica Shepard, Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese, Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams, Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell and Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles round out the top 10 vote-getters.

The Las Vegas Aces hosted the New York Liberty at “The House” on Tuesday night after having one of their best defensive games of the season against the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday.
This was the first matchup for the Aces and the Liberty this season, and they will meet again on the court in Brooklyn next week for the Commissioner’s Cup Championship.
The Aces fought hard, but in the end, fell to the Liberty 87-76.
A’ja Wilson had 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 ******* ists. Chelsea Gray finished the night with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 ******* ists, and Jackie Young had 19 points.
Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu got her first double-double of the season. She hasn’t played many games this season so far due to injury and finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 ******* ists. Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with 20 points.
