Nearly six years ago, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith spent an entire week game-planning for Derrick Henry when both played with the Chicago Bears and Tennessee ***** ans, respectively. Charlamagne Tha God said Dr. Anthony Fauci came across as "suspicious" and only made "conspiracy theorists" happy with his Senate hearing, where he invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times.
On Thursday's The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne found himself a little less supportive of Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, than his co-hosts.
"Y'all don't think it's fishy that he got a pardon? Why did he need a pardon?" Charlamagne asked at one point.
The radio host said Fauci's refusal to answer any questions was "suspicious" and he dismissed the idea that the longtime health official could be "trapped" if he didn't do anything wrong.

A new chapter in the Alessio Romagnoli saga has begun, as Al-Sadd and Lazio resume their negotiations in the hopes of resurrecting the deal.
The seven-month soap opera has already witnessed a plethora of twists and turns. At the start of the summer, the two clubs had an agreement on a €3 million transfer, while the defender was prepared to sign a three-year contract with a €6 million salary. But in recent days, it was reported that the operation collapsed due to the situation in the Middle East.
With the state of Qatar imposing restrictions on monetary transactions, Al-Sadd requested that the payment be delayed until January. However, the cash-strapped Lazio refused, instead reinstating the player into Gennaro Gattuso's squad.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Romagnoli's transfer to Al-Sadd hasn't been entirely ruled out, as the Qatari champions are still seeking a solution. As the Roman newspaper explains, the club launched a new attempt this week, reopening talks with Lazio.
Al Sadd have reportedly made a new payment proposal on Tuesday, with the Aquile sending a counter-offer on Wednesday. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the two parties can reach a compromise that would put an end to this exhausting transfer saga.

On a recent episode of ETF Zoo, Bloomberg's Eric Balchunas made the point that some speculators lately had been getting these market-timing calls right. He later ran the numbers on ProShares UltraPro QQQ, the 3x leveraged Nasdaq-100 ETF.
This toe-dip into matching flows with performance got me thinking about "the other big trade" of the last year or so that's not AI: Energy. That's where all the headlines about insider trading have been, so taking the cue from Eric, I had to figure out: have ETF investors been playing the energy trade this well?
Betting on energy is the least secret, least insider trade in the world right now—unless you have access to the Oval, like some traders apparently do. There should be no edge in it. Short-term trading here is simply a bet that you know something the most important commodity market in the world doesn't know (or, you have better hunch.) Historically, this is a bad idea. The Chicago Bears opened training camp today, and with everyone reporting to Halas Hall, they made two more roster moves by placing defensive end Montez Sweat on the Active/Non-Football Illness list and safety Elijah Hicks on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.
Sweat joins linebacker T.J. Edwards on the NFI list, and much like T.J., Sweat's stay isn't expected to be long. Earlier today, general manager Ryan Poles said Edwards injured his calf during offseason training and is expected back soon, calling it "nothing major." Sweat's illness is expected to keep him away for a few days.
Hicks reported some shin discomfort when reporting, so his start to camp will be delayed a bit. He joins nickelback Kyler Gordon, linebackers Keyshaun Elliott and Noah Sewell, offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo, and defensive lineman Shemar Turner on the PUP list.

Greaves finished with career-best figures of 5/27 from 11 overs, with all five wickets coming in five successive maiden overs without conceding a single run. It was also the 31-year-old's maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket.
Pakistan resumed the day trailing West Indies' first-innings total of 311 and looked to be building a strong reply through Shan Masood and Salman Agha. The pair safely negotiated the opening hour before Shamar Joseph broke the stand by bowling Agha.
What followed was one of the most remarkable spells in recent Test history.

Every start of preseason we make it clear that these games are nothing more than fitness preparation for the squad. However when you give playing time for several young players like we did today, you have to keep your eyes peeled for what may come next.
One of those young'uns, Dastan Satpayev, had some eyes set on him and showed why that was the case. A good run from Ryan Kavuma-McQueen's pass to break the offside trap from the hosts at Accor Stadium in Sydney and the Kazakh international scored not even 10 minutes into the match.
While offensively the Blues were very promising, the combination of Tosin Adarabioyo and 18-year-old centre-back Olutayo Subuloye in defence didn't make it for solid defending. In spite of Teddy Sharman-Lowe's best efforts to organise his teammates in a corner kick, he couldn't do much to avoid giving Western Sydney Wanderers the tying goal.
It didn't help that midfielders Reggie Watson and Dário Essugo weren't in the kind of rhythm needed to control action in their sector. BENGALURU: Rahul Dravid, once a hockey midfielder, famously put away the stick and stuck to weaving magic with the willow. Almost four decades later, with a stick in hand, he can still trap a ball with precision and position a pass well too. The former India captain and coach, who played in the same school team– St. Joseph's Boys High School– as former international hockey players Anil Aldrin and Sandeep Somesh, counts hockey as one of his favourite sports. Speaking at the opening of the inter-college hockey tournament commemorating the platinum jubilee of his alma mater, St Joseph's College of Commerce (SJCC), here on Friday, Dravid reminisced about his days on the hockey field.
"I played a lot of hockey in school. I was fortunate to play with people like Anil Aldrin and Sandeep Somesh for two reasons. Firstly, we were a strong team and won tournaments like Centenary Shield and the Father Eric Vaz inter-school tournaments because of these two guys. Also, it was a good lesson for me because when I watched them play or played with them, I realised that I was better off playing cricket," Dravid joked.
Incidentally, Dravid and Somesh both played as midfielders, while 1996 Atlanta Olympian Aldrin was a defender. The 53-year-old Dravid said hockey had played an important role in his formative years. "I loved playing hockey. It was a great team sport. India has such an incredible history, legacy and tradition in hockey," he said.
Dravid also praised the resurgence of Indian hockey after the men's team secured back-to-back Olympic bronze medals in Paris and Tokyo. "We haven't been able to reach the heights and standards that we had in the past, but I'm glad we have been quite successful in recent times. There is a revival of hockey," he observed.
The two-day five-a-side inter-college hockey tournament, which has attracted 17 teams, has been organised by SJCC's Old Students' ****** ociation (OSA) and Yes For Hockey. The competition is timely for the revival of collegiate hockey, which has declined over the years.
Lauding the efforts of OSA, Dravid said, "They've been very passionate about trying to revive hockey and get more youngsters to play it, which is really important because it's such a phenomenal sport to be a part of. I think it's only going to keep getting better."
Known throughout his playing career for exemplifying sportsmanship, Dravid urged young players to uphold the spirit of the game. "Play in the right spirit, competitively but also with the right sense of camaraderie," he stated, adding, "Not everyone is going to play for the country, but there is so much that sport can give you. The lessons that you learn from sport will carry you for the rest of your life."

Bengaluru: Rahul Dravid, once a hockey midfielder, famously put away the stick and stuck to weaving magic with the willow. Almost four decades later, with a stick in hand, he can still trap a ball with precision and position a pass well too.
The former India captain and coach, who played in the same school team– St. Joseph's Boys High School– as former international hockey players Anil Aldrin and Sandeep Somesh, counts hockey as one of his favourite sports. Speaking at the opening of the inter-college hockey tournament commemorating the platinum jubilee of his alma mater, St Joseph's College of Commerce (SJCC), here on Friday, Dravid reminisced about his days on the hockey field.
"I played a lot of hockey in school. I was fortunate to play with people like Anil Aldrin and Sandeep Somesh for two reasons. Firstly, we were a strong team and won tournaments like Centenary Shield and the Father Eric Vaz inter-school tournaments because of these two guys. Also, it was a good lesson for me because when I watched them play or played with them, I realised that I was better off playing cricket," Dravid joked.
Incidentally, Dravid and Somesh both played as midfielders, while 1996 Atlanta Olympian Aldrin was a defender. The 53-year-old Dravid said hockey had played an important role in his formative years. "I loved playing hockey. It was a great team sport. India has such an incredible history, legacy and tradition in hockey," he said.
Dravid also praised the resurgence of Indian hockey after the men's team secured back-to-back Olympic bronze medals in Paris and Tokyo. "We haven't been able to reach the heights and standards that we had in the past, but I'm glad we have been quite successful in recent times. There is a revival of hockey," he observed.
The two-day five-a-side inter-college hockey tournament, which has attracted 17 teams, has been organised by SJCC's Old Students' **** ociation (OSA) and Yes For Hockey. The competition is timely for the revival of collegiate hockey, which has declined over the years.
Lauding the efforts of OSA, Dravid said, "They've been very passionate about trying to revive hockey and get more youngsters to play it, which is really important because it's such a phenomenal sport to be a part of. I think it's only going to keep getting better."

Ian Machado Garry has said he is “already thinking” about whom to defend the UFC welterweight ***** le against – before even fighting for the belt.
On 15 August, the Irishman will challenge champion Islam Makhachev, as the pair headline UFC 330 in Philadelphia.
The bout marks Makhachev’s first defence of the belt, although he broke the record for most lightweight-title defences before moving up to welterweight in November.
When it came time to challenge for the welterweight strap, Makhachev employed his wrestling skillset to dominate Jack Della Maddalena and win on points at Madison Square Garden, in New York City.
