Slowly but surely the secret is coming out that Michael Penix Jr. has officially arrived as a franchise quarterback. The Atlanta Falcons' starter has been exceptional since returning to the lineup in Week 3, racking up nine touchdown passes to go with just one interception.
Penix is fresh off his best game of the season, totaling three scores and no turnovers against a top-five San Francisco 49ers defense.
That should have gotten Penix a huge ****** p in the weekly NFL.com quarterback rankings, but he only saw a modest gain of one spot, coming in at No. 12. That puts him in-between two former league MVPs, one spot below Patrick Mahomes and one above Matt Stafford.
"Michael Penix Jr. looks very comfortable and decisive in Kevin Stefanski's offense, freely spreading the ball among his many talented targets at a rate I haven't seen from him previously in his NFL career. Penix's contributions were especially important in a game in which Bijan Robinson fell short of breaking things open on the ground, and a reason to take the Falcons seriously going forward."
While the small gain is a little disappointing, keep in mind that Penix wasn't even listed in most quarterback rankings going into the season. Instead, it was Tua Tagovailoa representing the Falcons, usually somewhere between Nos. 30 and 32 among projected starters.

Meghan Markle's cryptic "new adventures" message in As Ever's holiday catalog raised eyebrows. Recently, she wrote a personal letter while introducing the holiday collection of her lifestyle brand. In the catalog, she hinted at the transition of the Sussexes from California to the U.K. a bit earlier than autumn. For those unversed, Prince Harry and Markle moved back to his home country with their family in late August.
Meghan Markle wrote an "autumn of new adventures" message in As Ever's holiday catalog. This sparked questions about whether she was referring to her move to the U.K. a bit earlier than the autumn season. "This year has reminded me how much joy can be found in the moments that make up a life," the ******* ss of Sussex wrote (via PEOPLE).
Furthermore, she listed small and big things that brought her happiness. From "evening snuggles" with her kids to "travel and adventure" and building her business, Markle has had a wonderful year so far. Her next line, then, hinted at the Sussexes' transition from California to the U.K.
She wrote, "A summer filled with laughter, wine and melting ice cream cones, followed by an autumn of new adventures." While she spent summer with her family in Montecito, they returned to Prince Harry's homeland on August 26. Their sudden decision shocked everyone.
Despite receiving criticism since their return, Markle mentioned in her letter her "new adventures." She wrote, "All of it has mattered. All of it has felt meaningful." Furthermore, Markle's letter introduced As Ever's new holiday collection. The lifestyle brand seemed to have expanded in the U.K. market now.

There were high expectations for A.J. Brown with the New England Patriots this season. The Philadelphia Eagles traded him back in June for a 2027 fifth-rounder and a 2028 first-rounder. However, the wide receiver's debut in New England has been underwhelming.
So far, Brown has missed four games this season due to an injury. He was activated on Oct. 17 and has played in the last two games. However, another concerning update has emerged.
On Wednesday, after being listed on the injury report with a knee ailment, the Super Bowl LIX champion missed Thursday's practice session with the Patriots.
Fans on social media shared their reactions to A.J. Brown's latest injury concern.
"The Eagles fleeced them," a fan said.

Mizzou Basketball lost their exhibition game against UNLV on Thursday night. The game didn't count, so as much as I'm not going to talk up their win over Kansas State, I'm not going to talk down this loss to UNLV. Winning always feel better than losing, regardless of whether the game counts or not. But it looked like Dennis Gates was willing to make a few concessions with his lineups early. Also, Jamier Jones, CJ Gunn, and Jaylen Carey were all sidelined and not dressed out.
Anyway, here's the box score screen cap from Statbroadcast:
There are 13 players listed as having played, but I don't remember Luke Northweather seeing the floor. But there was a lot to think about, so let me try to parse through things quickly, since the 9pm tip means I'm starting this out well after 11.
My biggest takeaway was that one team played a lot harder than the other. The Tigers didn't have their full foster of players, but neither did UNLV. But you could see early the Rebels were focused on crashing the glass and being incredibly physical.
Jason Crowe played 36 minutes, Toni Bryant played 28, Aidan Chronister played 15. Those three players were able to overwhelm K-State, a team who is very focused on skill. Against UNLV the three freshmen, and not just those three but the whole roster, just got bodied by the effort of the Rebels. Lindenwood transfer Dontrez Williams, a Sikeston native, was only 1-5 from the floor and scored just 4 points, but he was +21. Mainly because he was out there playing his ****** off.

The status of Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs for their Week 8 meeting with the Minnesota Vikings got a concerning update on Wednesday, when he was listed with a DNP (Did Not Participate) label.
Apparently, even Gibbs was surprised that he got an injury designation.
"I was confused," the former Alabama Crimson Tide star running back said, via Brad Galli of The Brad Galli Show. "I just got dinged up a little bit, like a little shoulder thing but I'm good."

AUBURN — A sudden addition to Auburn basketball's staff appears unlikely, at least for the time being, as head coach Steven Pearl addressed the firing of general manager Brian Kloman following the Tigers' 80-68 win in an exhibition against Samford on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Neville Arena.
Auburn's coaching staff is taking a by-committee approach to general manager duties, Pearl said. He did not provide a timeline for an eventual general manager hire, nor did he expressly state the program would look for someone to fill that role.
"As a staff, (we will) just kind of go through some of the things that Brian (Kloman) was doing and try and divvy up some of those responsibilities, and collectively as a group, work through those things together," Pearl said.
Brett Whiteside, listed as Auburn's executive senior **** ociate athletics director, was name-dropped by Pearl as someone who is expected to help the program amid its general manager change. According to his staff biography, Whiteside "plays a key role in shaping the student-athlete experience through revenue-sharing operations, NIL strategy, education, and compliance."
The circumstance arises after Auburn fired Kloman on Monday, in the aftermath of international signee Mantas Rubstavicius voluntarily dismissing his eligibility lawsuit against the NCAA.

Denver Broncos RB RJ Harvey (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 29.
SOURCE: DenverBroncos.com
Why it Matters: Harvey wasn't listed on Wednesday's practice report, so the injury is something worth monitoring heading into Friday's session. His role in the offense has been shrinking a bit with the emergence of Jonah Coleman, and while Harvey has remained involved in the passing game, he has largely been reduced to a big-play dependent flex option.

Bears' Kyle Monangai gets discouraging injury update ahead of Seahawks clash appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Chicago Bears have a challenging **** ignment in Week 8 when they travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks Monday night. The Seahawks are coming off an impressive 20-3 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in which their defense shut down their previously unbeaten opponent.
The Bears would like all of their top weapons to be functioning at a high level in this game because the Seahawks are so strong defensively. They are the top-ranked team in the league in fewest yards allowed at 233.9 per game, and they are second to the Minnesota Vikings in points allowed at 17.9 per game.
As a result, the Bears would like running back Kyle Monangai back in the lineup. He has missed the last three games with a turf toe injury. Monangai did not practice in Thursday's session with both the turf toe injury and a thumb issue listed as the main problem areas.

Ahmad Hardy's return appears to be imminent.
Hardy is expected to make his 2026 season debut against Arkansas this coming Saturday, Oct. 31, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, a source familiar with the team's plans confirmed to the Columbia Daily Tribune on Thursday. ESPN's Pete Thamel first reported the news.
The All-American running back, who set Mizzou's single-season rushing record last season with 1,649 yards in 13 games, was not listed on Mizzou's SEC-mandated availability and injury reports on either Wednesday or Thursday night.
The team was seemingly told after practice Thursday to expect Hardy to return.
The question now is what Hardy's workload looks like as he makes his much-anticipated return after sustaining a gunshot wound to the thigh in May in Laurel, Mississippi. It's unclear whether he'll be on a pitch count in his first appearance since last December.

The Charlotte Hornets announced on Thursday that forward Kon Knueppel has been ****** igned to the team's G League affiliate in Greensboro, North Carolina for Thursday's practice.
Though Knueppel is still listed as out for Friday's matchup at the Washington Wizards, being ****** igned to practice with the Greensboro Storm is an encouraging sign that the second-year sharpshooter is nearing a return after missing the Hornets' first five games of the season with a strained left hamstring.
Friday's game is the first of a back-to-back for Charlotte, who hosts the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. So perhaps the team is waiting to play him at home or maybe his season debut will be Monday versus the Detroit Pistons.
Knueppel, 21, suffered the injury just over a month ago during what the Hornets termed "offseason on-court activity." This occurred shortly before NBA teams reported for training camp, which Knueppel missed due to the hamstring strain along with the entire preseason.
Last season, Knueppel finished second in NBA Rookie of the Year balloting after challenging 2025 No. 1 overall pick and eventual winner Cooper Flagg by averaging 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 ****** ists. Selected No. 4 overall out of Duke in the 2025 NBA Draft, he led the league by making 273 3-pointers, shooting 43% on 673 attempts.

The Oklahoma Sooners are again battling injuries as they head into their game against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Sooners had 15 players on the Wednesday availability report.
They will again be without key offensive linemen Ryan Fodje and Eddy Pierre-Louis, but should get Heath Ozaeta back. Center Jake Maikkula was listed as "questionable." This follows an injury he suffered against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Caleb Nitta replaced him in the game and did a nice job in his snaps.
Offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle praised Nitta's preparation when his number is called.
"Caleb's a fighter and he loves football, plays his ****** off," Arbuckle said. "And it's been that way since he's gotten here. That showed on his previous tape from other institutions. He's very smart, like really intelligent, understands defense, understands what's happening in the box, can see defensive back rotations. I mean, he's a sharp kid. But he's a fighter, you know, and he'll give us everything that he has."
Nitta's readiness could prove valuable as Oklahoma navigates another week of uncertainty on the offensive line. Maikkula's status will be worth monitoring, especially as the Sooners try to build on their improved performance against Mississippi State. A backup who can quickly recognize defensive fronts and communicate adjustments gives the offense stability when injuries force changes up front.

Kimberly Guilfoyle has lost her ambassador job, but her name still carries a six-figure price tag on the speaking circuit. The former Fox News personality is listed for appearances costing between $50,000 and $100,000 after she left as U.S. ambassador to Greece amid allegations of financial misconduct, which she denies. Whether anyone is paying those rates is another question. The listing offers a glimpse of her potential earning power, but it doesn't show that she's booked a single six-figure engagement.
Papadakis Press/MEGA
According to her Speaker Booking Agency profile, Guilfoyle is available for speaking engagements, corporate appearances, virtual events, moderated discussions, and meet-and-greets. The page displays a speaking-fee range of $50,000 to $100,000 and lists West Palm Beach, Florida, as her departure point.
That puts the advertised upper limit for one appearance at the same dollar figure as the American Express payment at the center of the controversy surrounding her diplomatic career. The two amounts concern separate matters. One is a public booking estimate, while the other involves disputed allegations about a donor's financial dealings with her.

A look up and a precise finish with sublime skill: Michael Olise once again demonstrated his exceptional quality in FC Bayern's 5–0 win over Bodø/Glimt. In the 83rd minute of the Champions League encounter, the Frenchman picked up pace down the right flank, cut inside and curled the ball beautifully into the top corner. A goal that was the perfect way to kick off the new Champions League campaign.
The German record champions' fans were thrilled by Olise's goal and chose it as FC Bayern's Goal of the Month for September. With 43.4 per cent of the vote, the forward came out on top against Alphonso Davies, who had also scored a spectacular goal to make it 3–0 during that same 5–0 win. Davies received 20.1 per cent of the vote.
Hot on Davies' heels were Jamal Musiala with his opener against Union Berlin (16.8 per cent) and Momoko Tanikawa, who also received 16.8 per cent of the votes for her winner against SC Freiburg. Fifth place went to Bogdan Olychenko for his opener for the FC Bayern reserves against Eichstätt (2.9 per cent).
It's already Olise's second consecutive fan accolade following his Goal of the Month for August. With his stunning finish against Bodø/Glimt, the Frenchman once again demonstrated that he's set to deliver special moments on a regular basis this season too.
Olise has been shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or alongside Harry Kane, Luis Díaz and Dayot Upamecano:

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN - OCTOBER 11: Brandon Cisse #2 of the Green Bay Packers runs upfield during the game against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field on October 11, 2026 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (Photo by Daniel Bartel/Getty Images) Getty
Green Bay Packers rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse left the Green Bay Packers' Week 6 win over the Dallas Cowboys with a stinger in his shoulder. He suffered the injury with just over eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Cisse was ******* isted off the field and was checked out in the medical blue tent. However, he did not return to the game. The team listed him as questionable to return. Part of the reason he did not return likely had to do with the state of the game.
Green Bay was leading 23-7 when Cisse left the game. He did not return for that drive, and the Packers forced a turnover on downs.
When Dallas got the ball back, there were just over two minutes to go with Green Bay up by two scores. So, there was no need for him to return.

When a farm sells for a lump sum, IRS rules split proceeds across five ******* et types, and only market cattle profits count as Social Security self-employment earnings.
In a hypothetical sale generating $500,000 in gains, only $100,000 from market cattle counts toward Social Security's earnings test, while land and equipment gains register $0.
Land gains escape the Social Security earnings test but still raise adjusted gross income, potentially making up to 85% of benefits taxable.
