Two new films featuring Sir Geoff Hurst and fans have been released to mark the 60th anniversary of England's World Cup victory in 1966.
Hurst's famous hat-trick in the 4-2 win against West Germany took place six decades ago on July 30 at Wembley Stadium.
Wembley has brought together the voices of people who were there, with Hurst, the only surviving member of the team, saying: "Coming up the tunnel that day, only a section of the crowd could see us, then 96,000 – that memory will always stay with me.
"I still meet people today who tell me exactly where they were on the day, either at the game, or on holiday all around the world. Getting married and guests not turning up, all the sort of stories you hear.

Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing Botafogo midfielder Danilo Santos this summer, according to the BBC. Man United want a new midfielder despite bringing both Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to the Old Trafford club. The Red Devils are now keeping tabs on Danilo, with Newcastle United also keen on bringing the former Nottingham Forest star back to the Premier League. The 25-year-old Brazil international made four appearances at the World Cup and Man United could do with his services as manager Michael Carrick eyes a specialist defensive midfielder.
Botafogo prefer to sell Danilo abroad after rejecting an offer of around £23 million, including bonuses from Verdao. The Man United target reportedly has a £17m clause for foreign clubs, which could be a big boost for the Red Devils and other European admirers. He played 50 Premier League games for the City Ground club before returning to Brazil in July 2025. Danilo has been impressing back home, with all his eight caps for Brazil thus far coming this year. His passing, relentlessness and the knack for being absolutely everywhere are some qualities of his which would come in handy at Man United.
The 6ft 2in midfielder is also physical, dynamic and technical, and he has what it takes to replace Casemiro at the Theatre of Dreams. Botafogo have also received offers of about £25m from Palmeiras and Zenit St Petersburg for Danilo, and more suitors could come calling. It is unknown whether Man United have plans to make a concrete move for him. They are exploring multiple options, including not signing another midfielder this summer, and fans will hope they make the right decisions.

This week’s All-Star Week festivities got off to a bombastic start on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park, with outstanding performances from established sluggers and burgeoning stars alike in the Home Run Derby. The AL had mounted a late-inning comeback to erase a 6-0 lead, but Schwarber ultimately led the NL to victory by winning a Derby-esque swing-off challenge which replaced extra innings.
Of course, two other Yankees were named All-Stars this season: Aaron Judge and Cam Schlittler. Judge is still working his way back from the rib fracture he sustained in the first week of June. Schlittler was about as deserving as any pitcher to get the starting nod for the AL, but owing to his start this past Saturday, opted not to participate. Strangely, Blue Jays manager John Schneider, who will be leading the American League on the field tonight, said he was always planning to tap the Blue Jays’ Dylan Cease as the starter—even if Schlittler was available to pitch. Weird move, but all right.
Bellinger and Rice will hit consecutively in Schneider’s lineup, at the sixth and seventh spot respectively. (Everybody get those jokes out of the way now.) They were not voted into starting spots, but they will each get the nod regardless due to injuries to Judge and Byron Buxton in Bellinger’s case and the combination of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.‘s withdrawal from the event and replacement Nick Kurtz’s recent addition to the IL.
Rice participated in last night’s Home Run Derby, but failed to advance to the next round. He’ll still get a chance to show off the impressive game power which has brought him to the precipice of 30 home runs at the season’s intermission. Bellinger was slumping mightily ahead of the season’s final week, but finished strong with five hits in the last four games ahead of the break. He gets a chance to keep that momentum going against…well, somebody in the NL’s pitching staff. Since it tends to be a new face pitching every inning, and all. Just one big hit from either of them however, and they could join Derek Jeter (2000), Mariano Rivera (2013), and Giancarlo Stanton (2022) as the only All-Star Game MVPs in Yankees history.

Arsenal’s position on William Saliba is straightforward, and frankly it should be. According to Caught Offside, the French defender is attracting serious attention, yet the line from north London is firm, he is “not for sale unless an extraordinary offer arrives.” That is the correct stance for a club trying to win major honours rather than simply balance accounts.

Top clubs tend to circle when a defender combines physical power, positional discipline and comfort in possession. Saliba fits the current elite model, and ****** nal know it.

Manchester United’s pursuit of midfield reinforcements has taken another complicated turn this week. The Red Devils are looking to upgrade their squad to address Casemiro’s departure and the unfortunate injury to Manuel Ugarte.
However, two of their priority targets have now slipped through their hands. United were heavily linked with Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson before the beginning of the summer, but recent reports suggest that he is on his way to Manchester City.
INEOS have already secured the services of Ederson from Atalanta, but are keen to add more Premier League-proven quality to their squad. The Red Devils had also identified Mateus Fernandes as the ideal partner for Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park.
However, a recent update from The Peoples Person suggests that the Portuguese midfielder is on his way to Tottenham Hotspur. The latest developments have thrown United’s plans up in the air, although they remain linked with several high-profile midfielders, including Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni.
In many ways, Tchouameni is the ideal candidate to fill Casemiro’s boots at the Theatre of Dreams. The French midfielder understands the demands of playing for a top club and is a mainstay for both club and country.

A three-sport standout, the Mountain View senior brought championships and notoriety to the school's girls volleyball and girls basketball teams and success to the softball team. In the process, she carved out one of the most impressive four-year careers seen in the Lackawanna League, particularly on the basketball court.
As a result, Kilmer is The Times-Tribune Female Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year. She received the honor Thursday night at the 76th annual Times-Tribune Athlete of the Week Awards Ceremony at Lackawanna College's Peoples Security Bank Theatre.
"Her high sports IQ and her willingness to listen and learn and take what is offered from coaches and apply it to all three sports," Mountain View girls basketball coach Corey Gesford said. "Obviously, she's a great athlete. She takes those athletic skills and applies what she's been taught and that's enabled her to be as successful as she's been."

Tony Blaisure admits he is a competitive person. He was that way when he played basketball and baseball at Elk Lake High School and when he played basketball at Lackawanna College.
But when his playing days stopped, he needed something to stoke his competitive fire.
Coaching and officiating do that.
For more than 40 years, Blaisure has been on the sidelines at Elk Lake as a coach and administrator. He also has been on the field officiating high school and collegiate games.
That longevity and dedication makes Blaisure the 54th recipient of the Joseph M. Butler Memorial Award. It was presented to him Thursday night at the 76th annual Times-Tribune Athlete of the Week Awards Ceremony at Lackawanna College's Peoples Security Bank Theatre.
