Yamaha has locked in its Moto2 line-up for 2027, signing Moto3 standout Álvaro Carpe to join the returning Alberto Ferrández on the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team. Both riders are 19 and represent Yamaha's ongoing push to funnel young talent up through the categories via its BLU CRU project.
Ferrandez is currently in his first full Moto2 season, partnering with Izan Guevara with the Pramac Yamaha team. Facing a new category and several circuits he'd never seen before, his rookie year presented a steep learning curve, with Ferrández currently sitting 21st overall. For his second season, Yamaha expects him to take a big step forward, with Team Director Gino Borsoi setting a clear benchmark for Ferrandez to "establish himself consistently inside the top ten from the beginning of the championship."
Carpe arrives from Moto3, where he spent the past two seasons with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. Carpe finished fourth overall as a rookie in 2025, and finds himself in the same position this season. The team is tempering expectations for his first year in the intermediate category, with Borsoi hoping to see him "start translating his potential into encouraging results from the middle of the season onwards."
Carpe will be taking over the seat currently occupied by Izan Guevara, who currently sits second in the Moto2 standings, trailing Manuel González by just 5.5 points, with five rounds remaining. Guevara is set to move up to Pramac Yamaha's MotoGP team in 2027. Guevara sets an example for Carpe's and Ferrández's path, progressing each year from a 22nd place finish in 2023 to fighting for the **** le this season.

Barcelona star Eric García has this week revealed his take that the podium for this year's Ballon d'Or award should be filled entirely by teammates from Hansi Flick's squad.
The subject of the upcoming 'Golden Ball' ceremony has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya's capital over the course of the last week.
This comes owing not only to those Barcelona stars included on the 30-man shortlist, but also those left off.
Featuring front and centre were Blaugrana trio Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Pau Cubarsí, as well as the recently departed Ferran Torres. Surprisingly nowhere to be seen on the shortlist, though, were either Pedri or Raphinha.
Speaking during an interview with Cadena SER on Monday, the aforementioned Eric García was in turn asked for his take on the race to be named world football's best player for 2026.

PSG have given Ousmane Demebele a game off, but it's purely to get him fresh rather than because of an injury.

PSG have announced that Ousmane Dembele won't be in the squad to face Lille on Friday night.
In fact, the forward has not been training this week. He's been given a break by manager Luis Enrique, who subbed the forward off for Ferran Torres at half time in the draw against Rennes on Sunday.

At the dawn of another Ligue 1 season, the divide between PSG and the rest has never been so wide. Les Parisiens, in the wake of their maiden Champions League triumph, weren't expected to be challenged. Lens, in that sense, surprised many. Another challenge, either from Les Sang et Or or from elsewhere, would be welcomed but does not necessarily look forthcoming; the perception of PSG's invincibility has only been enhanced by their second consecutive UCL **** le.
Already the best side in the division, the best in Europe, the best team in French football history, PSG exist on an entirely different plane. They have the best starting XI in world football, and their transfer business attests to that, with the second string now the subject of Luís Campos' attention. The likes of Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche, and Mika Godts look to be upgrades on Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in, and Randal Kolo Muani. These are the types of players that will be regularly trotted out in Ligue 1, allowing the likes of Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, etc., to save their best performances for those nights under the lights in the UCL.
All the while, the rest of Ligue 1 has, by and large, regressed. Marseille – at the time of writing – have yet to register a single recruit. Hamstrung by restrictions imposed by the DNCG and UEFA, they have been in fire-sale mode. They are guaranteed to begin the season weaker than they ended the last, regardless of what happens in the closing days of the transfer window.
They aren't the only ones. Lens have an Icarus-like quality to them, having run PSG close for the **** le and won their maiden Coupe de France **** le. A little too close to the sun, a little too much success, and they have come crashing down. Pierre Sage has left, as have Adrien Thomasson, Mamadou Sangaré, Malang Sarr, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Welsey Said. Les Sang et Or aren't building from Ground Zero, but the backbone of last season's side has been broken. A replication of last season's success would be miraculous.

Luis Enrique raised some eyebrows last night when he took Ousmane Dembele off at half time of PSG's draw with Rennes.
If you enjoy PSG Talk coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.
PSG came back from 2-0 down in the second half against Rennes last night to draw 2-2 in their opening game of the Ligue 1 season.
After the game, manager Luis Enrique was asked about the most eye-catching decision he made – hauling off star man Ousmane Dembele at half time to bring on Ferran Torres, who scored twice after the break.
"That's how football is. PSG hasn't won anything yet this season. If you dwell on what you've already won in the past, you won't win anything else. To me, the most important thing is that there's no gifts," the Asturian coach said.

Tension at the Metropolitano after the boos aimed at Julián Álvarez headline a matchday in which FC Barcelona showed overwhelming dominance against Elche, Mourinho stepped in amid the 'Vinicius case', and Ligue 1 witnessed Ferran Torres' instant resurrection in Paris. On top of that, the transfer market is delivering dramatic twists just days before the deadline.
The atmosphere among the Atlético faithful is reaching boiling point. Atlético de Madrid fans showed strong disapproval toward Julián Álvarez after he made clear his intention to leave the club. After the final whistle against Villarreal, boos echoed around the stands, and the forward headed alone to the dressing room by decision of the club hierarchy to avoid further incidents.
The reigning champion kicked off LaLiga by laying down the law with an emphatic 0-5 win. In a brilliant attacking display, Raphinha and Fermín led the team with a brace each, joined by Adeyemi opening his account as a Barça scorer. A standout cameo from debutant Gordon in just 20 minutes put the finishing touch on an imposing start.
José Mourinho has spoken out after the controversial incidents in Cornellá. The Real Madrid coach publicly defended the Brazilian attacker, taking command within the Madrid dressing room and trying to ease the external pressure once again closing in on his biggest star.
He came, he saw, he conquered. Ferran Torres enjoyed a dream start in Ligue 1, rescuing PSG from the brink against Rennes. After trailing 0-2 at half-time, the Spanish forward took control in an extraordinary second half and scored a crucial brace to level the match.

Bradley Barcola has been left out of another Paris Saint-Germain squad as the France international continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool and ****** nal. The 23-year-old was not involved in PSG's victory over Aston Villa in the Super Cup or the defeat to Lens in the French Super Cup and has been left out of Luis Enrique's 21-man squad for their Ligue 1 opener against Rennes.

Liverpool have also been linked with PSG's 18-year-old forward Ibrahim Mbaye, who like Barcola is not part of the squad to face Rennes on Sunday. ****** nal, meanwhile, want to strengthen the left side of their attack and were recently explored a move for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz.

Barcola has played a role in PSG's back-to-back Champions League ****** les under Enrique but faces an uncertain future after the European champions strengthened their attack this summer. PSG have signed three attackers this summer in Spain's World Cup winner Ferran Torres from Barcelona, Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax and France international Maghnes Akliouche from Marseille.

Paris Saint-Germain enter the season with the expectation that they should lift their sixth Ligue 1 ******* le in a row. However, this week hasn't been ideal preparation for the campaign. On Sunday, a defeat to RC Lens in the Trophée des Champions was followed by the news that the Parc des Princes was unusable for their opening game against Stade de Rennais, meaning this match would have to take place in Rennes.
Luis Enrique would be without Nuno Mendes for this game due to his suspension after he picked up a red card in the loss to Lens. This meant that summer signing Lucas Digne would be back in the starting line-up for tonight.
L'Équipe expects that Digne will be alone among the new recruits, with the rest of the high-profile summer signings: Maghnes Akliouche, Mika Godts, and Ferran Torres on the bench.

Paris Saint-Germain completed a couple of key deals last weekend as Luis Enrique's squad was supplemented by the arrivals of Ferran Torres and Mika Godts, yet there was a quiet development elsewhere that, in time, could become a major problem for the Ligue 1 champions.
Much of the summer has been dominated by the saga of Bradley Barcola and Liverpool. It increasingly looks like the French winger will leave for Anfield in what is likely to be a club-record sale far eclipsing the €90 million transfer fee Al-Hilal paid to sign Neymar in 2023.
Losing Barcola is likely not what Luis Campos and Luis Enrique wanted at the start of the summer, but equally, it's not a disaster either.

His transfer fee alone is likely to cover the transfer fees of Godts and Torres combined, while his exit fits the club mantra of not keeping unhappy players. Furthermore, Barcola was not a guaranteed starter, though he was certainly PSG's most dangerous attacking alternative and a precious weapon because of his raw pace and acceleration.

Barcelona's interest in Lautaro Martinez appears to have hit an immediate obstacle, with Inter Milan making it clear that their captain is not available for transfer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter have received no offer from Barcelona for the Argentine striker.
More importantly, the Italian club are not expecting one and would have no interest in considering a sale even if Barcelona were to make an approach.
The report comes after Lautaro emerged as a leading name in Barcelona transfer news following the club's apparent failure to land Julian Alvarez.
With Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres' departures leaving a major gap in attack, the Inter captain had moved into the picture as a potential solution.

Barcelona have turned their attention to Lautaro Martinez and Gabriel Jesus as the Spanish champions look to strengthen at centre-forward.
Barca are on the hunt for forward options after the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres this summer.
Hansi Flick's side have been frustrated in a pursuit of Julian Alvarez, with Atletico Madridinsistent that the Argentine is not for sale. Atletico have said even bids of €200m (£171m) will be rejected, despite Alvarez's admission that he wants to leave.
As a result, Barcelona have now made Lautaro Martinez their top target. JournalistGerard Romero has reported that the Inter Milan captain is now the 'number one priority'.

Barcelona are still active in the transfer market, and sporting director Deco has made it clear that the club's summer business may not be over just yet.
The Catalan giants have already made headlines with their recruitment, including the arrival of Rodri.
However, the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres have left Deco and the Barcelona sporting department with very different problems to solve.
While the club believe they have enough options to deal with Ferran's exit, replacing a striker of Lewandowski's level is another matter altogether.
Deco did not hide the scale of the challenge when discussing Barcelona's transfer plans.

Fermin Lopez says he can play false nine for Barcelona following the exits of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres this summer.
Barcelona are still in the hunt for a new striker before the transfer window closes, but it remains to be seen if the Catalans will land a new frontman for the new campaign.
Lopez has now been asked if he'd be happy to play false nine next season and offered up the following response.
"I can adapt, yes. I have played as a false nine in the lower categories of Barça," he told ARA. "It's a position similar to my favorite, which is attacking midfielder. I can also play wide on the left wing, but my best version is as an attacking midfielder.
Lopez was also asked who he thinks will score the goals next season for Barcelona and says Hansi Flick has plenty of options.

Barcelona's summer has moved with that familiar blend of calculation, theatre and necessity, and now there is genuine momentum to examine. In a market where every move seems to carry a sporting purpose and a financial consequence, the Catalan club have reached an important juncture. Credit to The Athletic, the original source of these latest developments, for outlining a week that may yet define the rest of Barca's window.
What matters for Barcelona now is clarity. There has been activity, there has been sacrifice, and there is a clear sense of direction. Ferran Torres has gone to Paris Saint-Germain, Rodri is on his way in from Manchester City, Joao Cancelo is set to return on a free, and the club's hierarchy have narrowed their sights firmly on one remaining attacking priority. In the compressed language of modern recruitment, it all sounds neat. In the reality of Barcelona, it still carries layers of risk, ambition and pressure.
The first significant development is Ferran Torres' departure. As reported, "Ferran Torres' €50million move to PSG was made official." That sentence alone tells a wider story. Torres had talent, pedigree and moments of real quality, but he also represented one of those investments Barcelona had to manage carefully. From the club's perspective, this is far more than a footballing farewell. The report notes that "from a financial perspective, the Catalan club regards this deal as highly satisfactory", which is another way of saying Barca believe they have navigated a difficult piece of business with uncommon efficiency.
If the Torres exit was pragmatic, the Rodri move feels emblematic. Barcelona have "reached agreement with City over the signing of Rodri in a deal that could be worth up to €76.5million but involves an initial fee of €60m for the 30-year-old midfielder." It is a statement signing in age profile, in status and in intent. Rodri is not a speculative purchase, nor a developmental talent for the future. He is an accomplished operator arriving to impose order, rhythm and authority.
Rodri's arrival feels like the start of the final phase of this window, not the conclusion of it. He strengthens one line, but he also enables the club to move into the last stretch with a little more certainty and a little less suffocation from the wage structure.

Paris Saint-Germain forwards Bradley Barcola (23) and Ibrahim Mbaye (18) are both absent from Les Parisiens' squad to face Lens in the Trophée des Champions. The PSG duo are both the subject of interest from Liverpool as the Premier League club look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window.
The Merseyside outfit have been in active discussions with the Ligue 1 champions over signing both Barcola and Mbaye. However, as of yet, the Reds have been unable to strike an agreement with the French capital club for either of the forwards. PSG are demanding fees in the region of €200m to see the duo leave the Parc des Princes this summer. Nevertheless, with the pair absentees from Luis Enrique's squad on the hunt for their second trophy of the campaign, it could be sign that they could be on the move.
Over the weekend, PSG confirmed the arrivals of two new attackers. Mika Godts (21) arrived from Ajax, and World Cup winner Ferran Torres (26) has arrived from Barcelona. With the French club actively recruiting new attackers, Liverpool could be set to take advantage of a surplus of options in Paris, seeing the club needing to sell.

Barcelona have completed the sale of Ferran Torres to PSG, with the Spanish forward leaving to reunite with Luis Enrique.
The Catalan club ran the risk of seeing the World Cup hero leave for free at the end of next season and chose to cash in after he expressed his desire to move.
Ferran leaves after four and a half seasons at the Catalan club, which were a mixed bag, but after arguably his two best seasons at Barça.
Now, according to SPORT, the former Manchester City forward's move to PSG has handed Barça a massive financial boost.
The operation is expected to generate around €50 million in FFP for the Catalans, which could help them with their own signings this summer.

Tonight, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are set to take on Coupe de France winners RC Lens in the French curtain-raiser. Luis Enrique's PSG have already collected one trophy this week, beating Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup.
Nuno Mendes picked up a knock during the match against Villa on Wednesday, and should be replaced in the line-up by new signing Lucas Digne. The France international was left on the bench against his former team, but will likely be handed his debut tonight.
Yesterday, PSG completed a double signing for Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax. Of the two, Godts could debut off the bench, while L'Équipe writes that Torres will be rested and has been left out of the matchday squad.

Barcelona bid farewell to Ferran Torres after four and a half seasons at the club, with the Spanish forward securing a move to PSG ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old leaves the Catalan giants after a remarkable rollercoaster experience during his time there, but with his stock at the highest it has ever been.
Ferran's exit leaves Barça without a recognised striker option in the senior squad, as the club try to address that situation in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Since his exit was made official, farewell messages have followed, and Dani Olmo has now shared an emotional message for Ferran.
The Barça midfielder posted a picture alongside Ferran on Instagram, taken during the club's **** le celebrations, and made clear that the 26-year-old will be missed inside the dressing room.

There was something irrational about Barcelona signing Ferran Torres from Manchester City in December 2021.
The club were drowning in debt. President Joan Laporta had revealed only months earlier that Barça owed €1.35 billion.
Lionel Messi had departed because the club could not make the numbers on a new contract work, and La Liga had imposed a spending limit on the Blaugrana that season.
Barcelona could buy Ferran, but even registering him for the La Liga campaign required further financial manoeuvring.
Yet the Catalans found €55 million, with another €10 million potentially payable in variables, and spent it on a 21-year-old forward from Manchester City.

Ferran Torres has this weekend taken his place high up the list of La Liga giants Barcelona's biggest-ever transfer market sales.
Frontman Ferran is for his part fresh off seeing his long-anticipated Camp Nou exit made official. After a saga spanning much of the summer window, the 26-year-old put pen to paper on a long-term contract with Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.
Ferran leaves behind a solid legacy in the colours of Barcelona, featuring, most notably, 65 goals, three La Liga ******* les, the Copa del Rey, and a trio of Spanish Super Cups.
After moving on with less than 12 months remaining on his contract, though, where does the former Manchester City man feature on the Blaugrana's list of most expensive sales ever?
An insight into as much has today been provided by market experts 'Transfermarkt '.

Two former members of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona were on Saturday spotted alongside one another at the training base of Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.
This of course comes fresh off Barca and PSG doing business on the transfer front for the latest occasion…
After weeks of rampant speculation, Saturday morning finally saw Ferran Torres' Camp Nou departure confirmed. After four years on the books of Barcelona, the 26-year-old made the call to take his talents to France's capital.
Ferran, in turn, linked up with his new teammates in compatriot Luis Enrique's squad for the first time earlier today.
And these developments gave rise to a reunion for the versatile attacker with a former teammate and friend from his Blaugrana days.

Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola has dragged on long enough to invite doubt, noise and the usual transfer-window nonsense. Strip that away and the position looks fairly clear. Liverpool want the player, the player wants Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain may finally be approaching the point where keeping him becomes less important than cashing in at the right price.
That is the crux of the latest update, with credit to Ben Jacobs on GiveMeSport's Market Madness podcast. The key line remains unchanged: "Liverpool feel they've got that Barcola buy-in, so the only way someone else is going to beat Liverpool in Liverpool's eyes, at least, and I stress that's Liverpool's sources' perspective, is if they get completely outbid and then back away."
That matters because it frames this as a deal Liverpool believe they can still control. **** nal may admire Barcola, and plenty of elite clubs will keep an eye on any forward of this level, but admiration is cheap. Convincing the player is harder, and by all accounts Liverpool think they have done that part already.
The real development is not on Merseyside, it is in Paris. PSG are reshaping their attacking options, and once clubs start stockpiling players in the same area of the pitch, priorities change. As Jacobs explained, "And now, what is the domino or three dominoes really is Maghnes Akliouche coming in from Monaco, Ferran Torres coming in from Barcelona, plus the fact that Mika Godts is expected to join from Ajax. That's three attack-minded players, and suddenly PSG have more urgency to sell Barcola. So Liverpool have been playing a waiting game in order to see whether that 170 million euro price drops. Now PSG are about to add two more editions on top of Akliouche."
That is where this starts to look less like wishful thinking and more like sensible timing. Liverpool were never likely to sprint into a €170 million, £145m, agreement unless they had no alternative. They have already spent heavily in recent windows, and no serious club keeps throwing £100m-plus fees around without calculating the consequences. Waiting for market pressure to build on PSG was logical.

Barcelona find themselves in an unusual position heading into the new season.
Following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, Hansi Flick currently has no natural senior centre-forward in his first-team squad.
The Pole left at the end of last season upon the expiry of his contract, while Ferran asked to leave once PSG came calling.
The Spaniard was unveiled as a new PSG player earlier today, officially leaving Barça without strikers in the squad ahead of the new season.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez remains Barcelona's major target in the market.

The sports front pages this August 12 spotlight the major continental final between Luis Enrique and Emery, along with ongoing situations involving Julián Álvarez, Ferran Torres, and Güler.
Marca puts the focus on the European Super Cup Final between PSG and Aston Villa. With the headline "Who will outshine whom?", the newspaper contrasts Luis Enrique's ambition to win the ******* le again with Unai Emery's revamped project. It also highlights Real Madrid's return to the Teresa Herrera Trophy thirteen years later.
In the Madrid press, AS gives its entire front page to Arda Güler under the slogan "Güler still in charge". The Turkish player will spearhead Real Madrid's attack at Riazor in the absence of the Club World Cup players. On the international front, the paper also covers the European Super Cup, describing it as a "very Spanish appetizer."
Mundo Deportivo focuses on the high-tension face-off between JuliánÁlvarez and Diego Simeone after the Argentine striker's no-show, both standing firm in their tug-of-war over his possible move to Barça. It also gives top billing to the "Lucho-Emery" Super Cup clash and confirms that Ferran Torres has been granted permission to finalize his departure from the blaugrana club.
Sport leads boldly with "Adieu, Ferran", announcing an imminent agreement with PSG for around 55 million euros. The Barça news is accompanied by a terrible medical update: the serious knee injury suffered by Roony Bardghji, who will miss the entire season with a torn cruciate ligament.

Ferran Torres is one step away from becoming a Paris Saint-Germain player as the French club have reached an agreement in principle with Barcelona on a deal for the scorer of Spain's World Cup winning goal.
According to multiple reports, the two clubs have agreed a deal worth €50 million plus €5 million in bonuses, and the deal is expected to be fully closed after PSG's UEFA Super Cup clash against Aston Villa on Wednesday.
Fabrizio Romano says Ferran will not join training at Barça headquarters on Wednesday, when he was due to rejoin the squad along with the rest of his Spain teammates. The two clubs have agreed to keep Ferran out of the training pitch to avoid any possible injury.
Ferran opened the door to his exit last week and made headlines with comments on his Barcelona future, and PSG acted quickly as soon as they were given the confirmation of Torres' interest in a move to Paris. The deal is now all but done, and Torres will be a PSG player by the end of the week.

According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona defender Jules Kounde is back at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
The French defender returned to the Catalan club's training facilities on Tuesday following his holiday, exactly as planned.
Kounde finished his participation in the World Cup one day earlier than the Spanish internationals after playing in the third-place playoff against England.
As a result, he was given one fewer day of vacation than the world champions and returned to Barcelona on Tuesday.
With the Frenchman's return, along with the early arrivals of Gavi, Joan Garcia and Eric Garcia, Hansi Flick is now only waiting for Pau Cubarsi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal to rejoin the squad.
