If you're trying to build a consumer-focused corner of your portfolio that can grow through a lot of different economic backdrops, three names stand out right now: Church & Dwight Co. (NYSE: CHD), YETI Holdings (NYSE: YETI), and Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL). Each of these is making deliberate moves in 2026 and into 2027 that communicate to me more about their future than any single rocky quarter's earnings line.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Church & Dwight has built its identity on everyday products like baking soda, laundry detergents, and cleaners that quietly show up in millions of homes. In May 2026, it moved to deepen that footprint by buying the Miss Mouth's Messy Eater brand, a fast-growing, non-toxic stain remover built for parents. It's a small thing on paper, but it fits this successful company's patterns: Keep layering niche, repeat-use products into an existing distribution machine instead of chasing flashy new categories.
The company's first-quarter 2026 update backs that strategy up. Organic sales rose 5% even though reported net sales were basically flat due to past portfolio pruning, per company management. Management described 2026 as a year of "volume-driven" organic growth, meaning they're focused on selling more units to real customers, not just leaning on price increases. On top of that, Church & Dwight extended its long dividend record yet again. Although it is not quite a Dividend King, it has consistently raised its dividend for 29 years.
For investors, my advice here is straightforward: Treat Church & Dwight as a core holding in a consumer bucket. It's unlikely to deliver fireworks in a single year, but it keeps making acquisitions to deepen its understanding of existing categories.

XRP shook off a sharp regulatory setback this week, climbing more than 7% over 24 hours to trade near $1.39 after briefly touching lows around $1.27.
The rebound followed a rocky 48 hours that combined a failed Senate vote with the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023.
Cloture is the Senate procedure required to end debate and move a bill toward a final vote, needing 60 senators to succeed. On September 15, the CLARITY Act fell short in a narrow 50-49 tally, missing that threshold and stalling a proposed federal framework for digital **** ets.
XRP dropped more than 8% in the immediate aftermath, touching lows near $1.27 to $1.28. Pressure intensified the next day when the Fed raised its benchmark rate by 25 basis points to a range of 3.75% to 4.00%, a move that typically weighs on risk **** ets broadly.
The sell-off, however, proved short-lived. XRP has since rebounded to $1.39, up 7.23% over 24 hours, even as the token slipped slightly by 0.30% in the past hour. Trading volume held near $3.9 billion, close to its 30-day average, suggesting genuine buying rather than thin, low-liquidity trading.

Teck Resources Ltd (NYSE:TECK) stock's pullback from its Sept. 8 record high of $72.56 has found support at the 60-, 80-, and 100-day moving averages. The 100-day trendline in particular is a historically bullish signal that presents an intriguing 'buy the dip' angle.
Per Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative ******* yst Rocky White, TECK has traded within 0.75 times the 100-day moving average's 20-day average true range (ATR) after spending at least 80% of the previous two weeks and 80% of the prior 42 trading sessions above the trendline. This setup has occurred eight other times over the last decade, after which the stock was higher one month later 75% of the time, averaging a large 13.8% gain.
Short interest accounts for a healthy 7.5% of the stock's available float, leaving ample sideline buying power should some of these bearish bets begin to unwind. TECK's 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) of 28.4 also sits in "oversold" territory, which often precedes a short-term bounce.
Plus, TECK's Schaeffer's Volatility Scorecard (SVS) sits at 81 out of 100, suggesting the shares have tended to outperform options traders' volatility expectations during the past year.

Shares of Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock are inching 0.4% higher to trade at $211.72 this afternoon, taking a breather after five-straight losing sessions, including yesterday's AI-induced selloff of 3.4%. The equity is still up 13.3% in 2026, however, and a rebound could soon be on the way, per a historically bullish trendline.
According to Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative ***** yst Rocky White, NVDA is trading within 0.75 times the 126-day moving average's 20-day average true range (ATR), after spending at least 80% of the previous two weeks and 80% of the prior 42 trading sessions above that trendline.
This setup has appeared 11 times over the last decade, after which the stock was higher one month later 82% of the time, averaging a 6.2% gain. From its current perch, a move of this caliber would put the equity just shy of $225.
NVDA sports a 50-day put/call volume ratio at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Cboe Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX) that stands higher than 83% of readings from the past year. Should this bearish sentiment begin to unwind, it could trigger a new round of tailwinds for the shares.
Options are looking affordable as well. The stock's Schaeffer's Volatility Index (SVI) of 34% stands higher than just 2% of all other readings from the past year. In other words, near-term option traders are pricing in low volatility expectations at the moment.

Ole Miss football AD accuses Lane Kiffin of 'manipulating' players, coaches appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
With Lane Kiffin's departure from the Ole Miss football program to the LSU Tigers still talked about to this day, despite being two games in with his new team, there is no doubt about the ripple effects left by the coach. As the showdown between the Ole Miss football team and LSU comes underway this Saturday, the Rebels' athletic director Keith Carter kept it real on Kiffin's time with the school and his rocky exit.
Speaking to On3 Sports' Chris Low, Carter reflected on Kiffin's six years with the Rebels, as there's no denying the success that the controversial coach brought, totaling a 55-19 record and amassing four double-digit win seasons.
While Carter said that Kiffin was "good for us" during that time and emphasized the mutual relationship they had, his "problem" was trying to "manipulate the players and the coaches on his way out and work behind the scenes to hurt us."

Well STS readers, I come to you this week recovering from an extremely sobering experience last Saturday night. I predicted a fight even in a loss, and if it even qualified as a fight, it resembled Drago vs. Apollo in Rocky IV. Probably an adequate ******* ogy because Apollo USED to be great, but he was no match for the modernized superweapon Drago. Did the Soviets cheat to develop him? Absolutely, but at that point they were doing whatever it took to be superior no matter the morality of it. Clemson fans like me could be heard yelling "throw in the ******* towel!" by maybe the fourth possession of the game. It was that obvious that Clemson was completely and totally outmatched at the lines of scrimmage and the surrounding skill had zero chance because of it on either side of the ball.
How did it come to this? I posted this in a comment on the game review thread and will paste it here as it summarizes what I have painfully allowed myself to realize: "I hate it for Dabo and others who really want to do this the way it is supposed to be done, which is to develop men and grow boys to men and that takes time more often than not. That is what the transfer portal and NIL and lack of tampering control has created and as much as Dabo has tried to evolve I just don't see how he could ever get to what actually has to be done now if you want to be elite. I bet if you begin to track LSU, Ohio State, Texas, etc, going forward, you will see that maybe 50% of their rosters will start and finish with them and the other half will be brought in from elsewhere at some stage of their five-year playing window. Dabo swallows hard just to have the maybe 15% we are up to now that would check that box. I totally understand why, but either Dabo has to let go of that OR Clemson needs a huge break and actual sane rules return to CFB. Otherwise, we are back to 1995 where we might be able to beat ok teams and bad teams but are done beating anyone that is legit top 15 in stature."
I am a Clemson Tiger for life and lived through the lean years between Ford and Dabo. I'll still tune in and attend games when I can, but I know now that something has to give if Clemson is ever going to hope to compete at the highest level and it may get worse before it can get better. I'm still looking for pathways to wins, as many wins as this team can find a way to manage. I agree they are likely better than that product we saw in Baton Rouge, but that is not saying a lot either considering how FCS level the Tigers looked in that game.
I also want to add that I highly recommend gear from our sponsor Section 103. Their polos in particular have already become some of my favorites in the closet.

Luke Evans reflected on his relationship with Tim Curry and shared how he responded to his letter shortly before his death.
During the Toronto International Film Festival, Luke Evans spoke to Entertainment Weekly and recalled Curry, saying, "He was very appreciative. I think he was very sick when he got the letter — he was struggling a lot — and I've spoken to his publisher since. He struggled to speak and talk, so I think he was really in a bad place, but what a legacy."
Evans shared that fellow actor Tim Curry responded to a heartfelt letter he sent to the actor shortly before Curry's death at the age of 80.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show star died of coronary artery disease. Curry also had a history of stroke and kidney cancer. These conditions were made public but were not the underlying cause of his death.

Etsy Inc (NASDAQ:ETSY) stock is down 2.6% to trade at $70.20 today amid broader market pressure, though Argus reiterated its "buy" rating and lifted its price target to $89 from $67. The $70 level has served as both support and resistance in recent months and could provide a potential pivot point for the shares. What's more, the e-commerce name is now within striking distance of a historically bullish trendline.
According to Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative ***** yst Rocky White, Etsy stock is trading within 0.75 times the 100-day moving averages' 20-day average true range (ATR), after spending at least 80% of the previous two weeks and 80% of the prior 42 trading sessions above that trendline. This setup has appeared 13 other times over the last decade, after which the stock was higher one month later 77% of the time, averaging a 10.3% gain.
Short interest represents 10.8% of the stock's available float, and would take shorts over three days to cover at the stock's average pace of trading. A move higher could pressure some of these bearish bettors to exit their positions, creating additional buying power.
Now also looks like a good time to weigh in on ETSY's next move with options. The stock's Schaeffer's Volatility Index (SVI) of 49% sits in the low 10th percentile of its annual range, suggesting options traders are pricing in relatively low volatility expectations at the moment.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left practice Thursday with an oblique injury.
Tagovailoa bent over in obvious discomfort after throwing a pass during a portion of practice open to media and grabbed his right side. He dropped to the ground for a few seconds before getting up and trying to shake off the injury.
It's unclear if he returned to practice. The Falcons listed him as a limited participant.
Tagovailoa's first game with the Falcons is at Pittsburgh on Sunday. It's the same spot where he made the last start of his rocky final season with Miami.
Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski announced Monday that Tagovailoa will open the season as the starter and Michael Penix Jr. will be inactive. Cooper Rush will be the backup.

Kourtney Kardashian has opened up about what heading back to work while going through postpartum looked like for her.
The Lemme founder, 44, is a few months into the postpartum stage, often dubbed the "fourth trimester," after welcoming her fourth child, son Rocky Thirteen, her first with husband Travis Barker, in late October.

Lyft Inc (NASDAQ:LYFT) is slightly lower this afternoon, down 0.2% at $14.86. Heading for a fifth-straight daily drop, the Uber Technologies (UBER) rival is trading near its late-July lows, sporting a grim 23.3% year-to-date deficit. All may not be lost, however, as this pullback looks to be placing Lyft stock near a trendline with historically bullish implications.
According to Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative ****** yst Rocky White, LYFT shares are within 0.75 of their 126-day moving average's 20-day average true range (ATR), after remaining below it 80% of the time in the past two weeks and in 80% of the last 42 trading sessions.
This signal has occurred five times in the last 10 years, after which Lyft stock was higher one month later 60% of the time, averaging a 9.4% gain. From its current perch, a surge of this magnitude would put the shares back above the $16 area.
Put traders have been circling, per LYFT's 10-day put/call volume ratio at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), which stands higher than 76% of all other readings from the past year. Echoing this, the stock's Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) of ranks higher than all other readings from the past 12 months. Should this bearish sentiment begin to unwind, it could trigger tailwinds for the shares.
Options are attractively priced as well, per the stock's Schaeffer's Volatility Index (SVI) of 51%, which stands higher than just 18% of all other readings from the past year, implying that near-term option traders are pricing in relatively low volatility expectations.

SINGAPORE, Sept 8 (Reuters) - A blistering rally in the ******* anese yen ahead of an expected interest rate hike from the Bank of ******* an next week is upending the long-established and lucrative carry trade, as investors rethink the path ahead for the volatile currency.
Early hints of capital repatriation and expectations of a faster pace of monetary tightening by the BOJ along ‌with U.S. pressure are combining to boost the yen, which hit 40-year lows in July, triggering a joint U.S.-Japan intervention.

Draymond Green wrapped up a rocky 2025-26 season that saw the Golden State Warriors fall in the play-in tournament, with the veteran forward starting all 68 games while averaging 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 ******* ists.
This offseason, Green has used his podcast to speak freely, and this week he turned his attention to one of the NBA's biggest storylines. However his take has already caught plenty of attention around the league, there is more to why Green feels this way.
Green's comments on his podcast reflect a recent pattern of him weighing in publicly on league matters, from a warning he sent the NBA over Damian Lillard's shooting display to issues touching his own Golden State Warriors locker room. This time, the target was the structure of the salary cap itself, not just the punishment handed down.

NASHVILLE – The only thing more chaotic than Broadway in Nashville on Sunday night was Nissan Stadium about five miles away.
What started out as a deeply flawed first-half offensive performance from Louisville ended in a second-half shootout between the Cardinals and No. 10 Ole Miss.
The Cardinals tied the game, 24-24, just before the end of the third quarter, but the Rebels had more firepower. Ole Miss outlasted Louisville, 41-38, Music City Kickoff victory. It's the first season-opening loss in the Jeff Brohm era of Louisville football.
Lincoln Kienholz got off to a rocky start but became the star that the Cardinals needed late in the game. The Ohio State transfer quarterback answered 14 straight Rebels points with a 54-yard touchdown pass to Lawayne McCoy and a 7-yard TD run in a little more than three minutes for a 38-all tie late in the fourth quarter.
But Ole Miss got the ball back with 1:28 remaining in regulation and barely escaped with a 48-yard field goal.

Bitcoin (BTC) mining name Riot Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:RIOT) is surging today, up 11.6% at $20.79 at last glance while Bitcoin taps three-month highs. Along with sector tailwinds, RIOT has its own bullish signal to keep an eye on as well.
According to Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative ******* yst Rocky White, Riot Platforms stock is trading within 0.75 times the 260-day moving averages' 20-day average true range (ATR), after spending at least 80% of the previous two weeks and 80% of the prior 42 trading sessions above that trendline. This setup has appeared six other times over the last decade, after which the stock was higher one month later 100% of the time, averaging a large 19.7% gain.
Short interest represents a hefty 14.35% of RIOT's available float, or more than 50 million shares, and would take shorts nearly three days to cover at the stock's average pace of trading. A move higher could pressure some of these bearish bettors to exit their positions, creating additional buying power.
Now also looks like a good time to weigh RIOT's next move with options. The stock's Schaeffer's Volatility Index (SVI) of 76% sits in the low 9th percentile of its annual range, suggesting options traders are pricing in relatively low volatility expectations at the moment. Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries (NYSE:TEVA) is moving 2.9% lower to trade at $36.41, pulling back from its Aug. 27, nearly nine-year high of $38.36. The $36 level looks to have moved in as a floor of support, a former level of resistance for the shares since late January. More gains could be on the table, however, with a fresh bull signal now flashing for the drug maker.
TEVA's long-term outperformance comes amid historically low implied volatility (IV). Specifically, the equity's current SVI of 29% stands in the low 5th percentile of its annual range.
According to data from Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative ******* yst Rocky White, there have been five instances in the past five years when the equity traded within 2% of its 52-week high, while its Schaeffer's Volatility Index (SVI) ranked in the 20th percentile of its annual range or lower.
TEVA was higher one month later 80% of the time after those signals, averaging a 5.5% gain. From its current perch, a shift of this amount would put the equity back above $38 -- within a chip-shot of its August peak.
Options traders are still not convinced. This is per the equity's 10-day put/call volume ratio at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Cboe Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), which sits higher than 96% of readings from the past year. Should this bearish sentiment begin to unwind, it could trigger more tailwinds for the shares.

Colorado QB depth chart: Can Julian Lewis, Zach Wilson's brother end post-Shedeur struggles? originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
When Colorado won nine games in 2024, its most in a season since 2016 and its first bowl-game appearance since 2020, it wasn't just because of two-way star Travis Hunter. Elite quarterback play guided the Buffaloes' offense.
While Shedeur Sanders' NFL career has been rocky thus far, he was undoubtedly one of the best passers in the country throughout his final season in Boulder, completing 74% of his passes for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns. Since then, however, Deion Sanders hasn't found stability at the quarterback position.
Colorado won just four games in 2025 as starting quarterback Kaidon Salter threw seven interceptions. With Salter now gone, however, Sanders has some intriguing passers around for 2026, led by a former top recruit.
Here's a look at Colorado's new quarterback room entering the 2026 season.

British actor Tim Curry died of coronary artery disease, his spokesman has confirmed to the BBC.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show star died in his Los Angeles home on 25 August, aged 80.
In addition to the heart condition, Curry had a history of stroke and kidney cancer, which were significant conditions that contributed to his death, his spokesman said, citing a death certificate filed in Los Angeles County.
Stars of stage and screen paid tribute to the actor, who shot to fame as the lingerie-clad Dr Frank-N-Furter in the cult 1975 film The Rocky Horror Show.
After having a near-fatal stroke in 2012, the actor used a wheelchair. He shifted his focus to voice acting exclusively, expressing gratitude that the stroke resulted in paralysis rather than taking away his ability to speak.

As September gets underway, we want to help you stay ahead of the game with our monthly list of stocks to buy and avoid. We've hit the best Dow stock to own in September, but below we're going to take a look at where you might want to avoid putting your money in what historically tends to be the worst trading month of the year.
Below is a list of the 25 worst-performing S&P 500 stocks in September over the last 10 years, per data from Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative ******* yst Rocky White. Among the historical underperformers is Adobe Inc (NASDAQ:ADBE).
According White's data, ADBE averaged a loss of 6.2% over the last 10 years, and has finished higher only twice. From its current perch, a pullback of this magnitude could put the software name back near $271. The stock is already living up to the data, down 1.6% to trade at $288.04 at last check today and looking to snap a three-day win streak.
The stock's recent rebound appears to be losing steam at the $300 level, while long-term pressure at the descending 320-day moving average lingers above as well. Year to date, ADBE is down 17.7%.
Options traders are still buying into the hype, however. This is per the equity's 50-day call/put volume ratio of 2.21 over at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Cboe Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), which sits higher than 82% of readings from the past year. Should this bullish sentiment begin to unwind, it could trigger more headwinds for the shares.

Tim Curry's cause of death has been revealed eight days after his passing on Aug. 25.
According to documents obtained by People from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" actor died of coronary artery disease. The report also cited his history of health issues including his 2012 stroke and kidney cancer. While these ailments contributed to his death they were not the underlying cause.
The actor died last week at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, 14 years after he suffered a paralyzing stroke. He maintained a presence in the public eye through the intervening years through fan conventions, social media and his 2025 memoir "Vagabond."
"Though widely known for his inimitable, flamboyant characters and colorful stage performances, his greatest legacies to those who knew him were his curious, expansive mind and generous, gentle heart, both of which remained open and filled with anticipation until his final breath," Curry's team shared in a statement last week.
