The six-time All-Star is an unrestricted free agent after being waived by the Sacramento Kings. Bleacher Report's Dan Favale ranked DeRozan, 37, as the best free agent currently available and included the Celtics as one of his best fits.
Favale mentioned the Detroit Pistons, Utah Jazz and Miami Heat as other possible landing spots for DeRozan.
"DeRozan has missed 13 combined games over the past three seasons and racked up more than 10 DNPs just twice for his entire career," wrote Favale. "The absence of meaningful three-point volume works against him, but he's averaged over 20 points per 36 minutes on better than 50 percent shooting inside the arc through each of the past seven seasons. Nikola Jokić, De'Aaron Fox and Jaylen Brown are the only other players who have done the same while qualifying for the scoring leaderboard.

Tennis star Frances Tiafoe is in demand. The high-energy American has brand deals that span the gamut, ranging from apparel to beverages and vehicles to banking. Each one includes Tiafoe in campaigns requiring photo and video shoots. It's a part of the process the 28-year-old has grown into.
"Obviously a lot of my own time ends up going into that," he tells me ahead of a shoot for Evian's 200th anniversary campaign. "Ultimately I just got to be me and enjoy the process and the fashion part of it, the whole journey of connecting with brands who align with me and my values."
Each shoot requires a little something different of Tiafoe, all worked around his demanding tennis schedule. He says before each shoot, the brands let him know what they expect, allowing him to get is mind ready to approach the day with the energy that's required. "I'm such a fly-by-night guy, but ultimately it is your brand, and you don't want to fly-by-night with it. You got to put spice on it to make it look good," he says. "You have to know what works for you, how you approach it and how much you want pre-shoot. It has been good and cool to see how it has evolved over the years."

Jabari Smith Jr. is known as the Houston Rockets' "Swiss Army Knife" for his versatility. He is an elite defender and can guard any position. Whether he is guarding the perimeter or protecting the paint, he consistently disrupts the opposing team's offense.
Last season, he totaled a career-high 71 total blocks. He also had 56 total steals, earning himself a 114.2 defensive rating. These impressive numbers represent how crucial a role he played for Houston's defense, which had the third-best-ranked defense in the entire NBA.

After getting drafted first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2016 NBA Draft, Ben Simmons came into the league with high expectations. He was even getting LeBron James comparisons because he is also a gigantic ball-handler. For a few years, Simmons was a great player, even earning All-Star nods.
Unfortunately, his career took a nosedive with a combination of mediocre performances on the big stage and injuries. He took the entire 2025-26 season off to fully recover and reset after playing for the Los Angeles Clippers in the previous campaign, and now, he is on his way back to the NBA for the 2026-27 season.
During his prime, Simmons was a problem for opponents. He is a 6'10" player who can serve as a giant playmaker. Since he can see above almost any non-center, he was stellar with that during the first few years of his career.
Unfortunately, Simmons did have massive problems within his game, including his aversion to shooting. That signaled the end of his prime when he passed on an easy layup at the rim when only Trae Young was defending him. After that, he then suffered all kinds of injuries, including nerve damage in his back.

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) has been a part of the Northeast-10 since 2000, just a year before they changed their name from New Hampshire College to SNHU. The Penmnen captured two conference championships in 2013 and 2019. SNHU was a goal away from a third **** le, but ended up bested by **** umption in a 2024 double overtime nail bitter.
The Monroe Moccasins hosted the Baton Rouge Zydeco for a pair of theme games in the Snake Pit on Thursday, February 13 and Friday, February 14. Thursday night's Mardi Gras game treated the crowd to an overtime and shoot out with Mocs winning 4-3. Friday night's sell out Valentine's Day crowd saw the Zydeco win 3-2. After wearing No. 21 for much of his basketball career, Morez Johnson Jr. will have a new look on the court, starting next season with the Dallas Mavericks.
Johnson sported No. 21 in high school for his first three years at St. Rita of Cascia in Illinois. He kept it as a freshman at Illinois and for last season as a sophomore at Michigan, en route to helping the Wolverines to their second national **** le.
With No. 21 occupied by Daniel Gafford, Johnson was forced to make a change upon joining the Mavericks. He ultimately went with No. 14 as a nod to his parents.
"Both of my parents' birthdays are the seventh, one in June and one in October," Johnson said during his introductory press conference on June 25. "Three 7s are good luck, and 21 is taken; seven is taken. I wore 12 my senior year because 21 wasn't available, and I don't know, I just chose 14."
Johnson was a second-team All-Big Ten selection last season, averaging 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.2 **** ists and 1.1 blocks while shooting 62.3% from the field in 40 games. He ranked 12th in the country in box plus-minus (plus-11.8) and 16th in offensive rating (135.4).

At his NBA peak, Monta Ellis was a relentless, rim-pressure guard who enjoyed four separate seasons in which he scored at least 20 points per game. At his NBA peak, Steph Curry was the greatest 3-point shooter in the history of basketball; a bona fide pioneer who permanently changed the way one of the world's most popular sports is played, while serving as the MVP-caliber talisman for four Golden State Warriors championship teams. He is a franchise legend, an icon the Warriors will almost certainly construct some sort of statue out of his likeness years after he retires.
Yet Ellis, apparently, thinks their talent is comparable.
While talking about his background after becoming Alcorn State's new basketball general manager on Friday, Ellis claimed the only real difference between himself and Curry during their respective Warriors careers was that Curry played with stacked teams capable of making NBA Finals runs year in and year out. Whereas the best Golden State team Ellis ever played was a 42-win squad that upset the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 playoffs.
At a surface level, Ellis does have a point. In his prime, Curry shared the floor with three other surefire Hall of Famers in Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant. That definitely helped Curry be himself and focus on what he does best. Ellis never played with anyone like that in Golden State. What's funny is that the Warriors didn't think Ellis and Curry were comparable. If anything, they clearly thought Ellis would get in Curry's way as he blossomed, which is why they traded Ellis in 2012 as Curry was finishing up his third NBA season.
And again, Ellis was a dime-a-dozen rim-pressure guard we've seen so many times before. Curry, even now at his older age, sometimes remains unguardable because of his transcendent shooting ability that another player may never replicate. GREENSBORO, NC — Keegan Bradley's final round Sunday at the Wyndham Championship was reflective of his 2026 season: A little good. A little bad. A little inconsistent.
A bogey on the 18th was the final nail in the coffin of Bradley's FedEx Cup Playoff hopes, as he'll fall just a couple spots outside the top 70 to qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship next week in Memphis, Tennessee.
Six birdies Sunday were overshadowed by two bogeys and a double bogey as he finished with a 2-under 68 to finish at 6 under for the tournament. It followed Saturday's 1-under round that featured five birdies but four back-nine bogeys. He's projected to finish 74th in the final regular season standings.
"I played really well today and yesterday," Bradley said. "Just, I shot a couple under. Needed to shoot a lot lower obviously."

Signing day for the class of 2029 is a long way off, but Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies have already established an in with the nation's No. 1 overall player, JJ Crawford.
The son of Seattle legend and three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford holds over 20 offers after just his first season of high school basketball playing for his father at in-state Rainier Beach High School, where he won a state championship alongside the nation's top prospect in the 2026 class, Tyran Stokes. Even with a long way to go in the recruiting process, several programs have made an early impact in his recruitment.
In an interview with Rivals' Jamie Shaw, Crawford named Alabama, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Michigan (his father's alma mater), North Carolina, and USC, alongside the Huskies, as the early standouts in the process.
"At the end of the day, the decision was to go with Crawford as the initial No. 1 player," Shaw wrote in his reasoning for making Crawford the nation's top prospect. "A quick snapshot of Crawford's summer, playing with the NW Rotary Rebels club on Nike's E16 EYBL Circuit, he averaged 17.2 points on staggering 50/50/100 splits—55.4 percent from the field, 56.9 percent from three (5.8 attempts), and 100 percent from the free-throw line."

Aug. 9—CBS Sports' "Eye on College Basketball" podcast has featured a "Summer Shootaround" series each of the last few offseasons. Illinois was included this year for a reason. The **** le of the podcast — "Illinois' case as the best team in college basketball" — pretty much explains why.

Police released video Friday of a mass shooting that killed three people at an Idaho In-N-Out Burger, and praised an employee from a nearby store who engaged the gunman outdoors, slowing him down and possibly preventing more deaths as authorities were catching up.
The story of heroism told by police for the first time adds to the list of at least three more people who confronted the gunman with their own weapons as well as numerous others who rushed to comfort victims.
"What happened here was violent, frightening and deeply traumatic," Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said during a news conference.

Walker Kessler and Collin ****** ton, two of the more important members of the Los Angeles Lakers, were teammates together for three seasons on the Utah Jazz. This will no doubt help them, especially on the offensive end, when the team opens up training camp and then starts playing games in October.
Kessler is the legitimate defensive presence at the center position the Lakers have wanted and needed for a while, not to mention an excellent rebounder. ****** ton, meanwhile, will give them some of the complementary ball-handling, faciliating, scoring and pace creation they have needed, especially after LeBron James decided to leave.
In a video for the Lakers' YouTube channel, ****** ton briefly talked about how much he's looking forward to reuniting with Kessler.
"Walker, that's my guy, we're both from Atlanta," ****** ton said. "I grew up watching Walker. When I was in the league, I knew he was next coming out. Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. is in a position where he could secure his future with the Nets given that he is eligible for a contract extension this summer. Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks and head coach Jordi Fernandez have made it clear that they want Porter around for the long time, but the Nets may not have much time left to figure this situation out.
"The upcoming season's deadline is expected to be Feb. 11. Due to the quirks of the CBA, that does make this Tuesday worth watching," Brian Lewis of the New York Post wrote on Saturday. Porter is coming off the best season of his career after being casted as the primary scorer for one of the youngest teams in the NBA, but Marks and the front office have to decide how much of their salary cap they want to dedicate to Porter.
"If Porter gets an extension — with a raise of 5 percent or more than two additional seasons — then he can't be traded for six months," Lewis continued. "And if the Nets renegotiate his contract, he also can't be moved for six months. That means if Marks plans to do either of those things with Porter, he'd either have to do them by Tuesday, otherwise the forward couldn't be traded until next summer."
As Lewis noted, if the Nets are going to trade Porter at some point between now and February, whether they extend them or rework his deal, they will have to do so by Tuesday for the move to be allowable under the CBA. Porter is eligible to sign an extension worth four years and $234 million and the question between now and Tuesday could be how much money Brooklyn is willing to pay him to keep him around.
Porter, 28, is coming off a 2025-26 season in which he averaged 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.0 ****** ists per game while shooting 46.3% from the field and 36.3% from behind the three-point line. It's been a quick leap for Bayern Munich youngster Maycon Cardozo. The former Bayern World Squad talent made his way through the youth ranks, from the U-17s to U-19s to FC Bayern II. NONTHABURI, Thailand (AP) — A student opened fire at a high school outside Bangkok on Friday, killing at least five people and wounding more than 20, according to authorities, who said he also appeared to have killed his two grandparents at the family home earlier in the morning.
The 14-year-old shooter took his own life at the school, officials said.
Five school staff members, including teachers and administrators, died in the shooting around 10 a.m. at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi province northwest of Bangkok, Deputy Interior Minister Polapee Suwunchwee said at the scene.
The boy also killed his grandparents at the home he shared with them prior to the school shooting, Polapee said.
Bangyai Hospital, about 5 kilometers (3 miles) from the school, said 23 people were wounded, of whom 10 were in critical condition, with most suffering gunshot wounds. Earlier reports gave conflicting casualty numbers.

Heidi Klum's daughter, Leni Klum, 22, revealed the real reason she skipped her New York University graduation ceremony.
The 22-year-old model explained she was busy shooting a campaign with Guess in London when the ceremony took place.
Leni, the oldest of Heidi's four children, also shared her post-grad plans outside of modeling.

Lexie Hull has played an important role for the Indiana Fever since joining the team in 2022. Her defense, shooting and ability to play multiple positions helped make her a trusted piece of Indiana's rotation, especially during last year's injury-filled campaign.

After four more seasons with the Boston Celtics, veteran center and former NBA champion Al Horford joined the Golden State Warriors for his 19th NBA season. Although the 39-year-old wasn't the most durable (45 appearances), he increased his steals and blocks per game totals despite averaging the fewest minutes of his career.
During the year, Horford averaged 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 ***** ists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 blocks. Horford's shooting numbers were quite similar from a season prior, shooting 42.6% from the field and 36.1% from 3-point range. Ahead of his 20th NBA season, Horford signed a new two-year deal with Golden State.

Valerie Bertinelli found a forgotten strip of film frames while decluttering her home, and the discovery sent her followers straight into preservation mode.
The 66-year-old actor shared a close-up of two color frames showing her younger self posing in black lingerie and strappy heels around a chair. Bertinelli referred to the find as "negatives" in her Instagram caption and said she had completely forgotten she had them.
"I had totally forgotten that I had them, which is why we probably haven't seen them in print anywhere," Bertinelli wrote.
She asked followers a simple question: "Toss or save?" The answer in the comments was clear, with many urging her to keep the images from her early Hollywood years.
Bertinelli estimated that the shoot took place in 1979, when she was 19 and already several years into the role that made her famous. She joined CBS' One Day at a Time at 15, playing Barbara Cooper alongside Bonnie Franklin, Mackenzie Phillips and Pat Harrington Jr.

"While my friends and I were carefully unpacking these items and getting ready to shoot this, a gorgeous, gigantic bald eagle landed in a nearby tree, stayed for a moment and then flew off (see video). THIS IS SO RARE!! It definitely felt like Diane's energy was around us! The hat says, 'NO MORE WAR,' and she'd added a skull and crossbones. So, I'm passing along her message."
Keaton died of pneumonia in 2025 at the age of 79.

Cole Caufield's 51-goal breakout season has changed expectations around the Montreal Canadiens winger. NHL Network ***** yst Mike Rupp now believes the 25-year-old has a realistic path to 60 goals.
Caufield entered NHL Network's Top Wings Right Now list at No. 9 after producing 51 goals during the 2025-26 season. That marked his first 50-goal campaign and helped establish him among the league's top scoring threats.

Rupp pointed to Caufield's shooting ability as the main reason behind his scoring ceiling. "He is a stop-and-pop type shooter where he could just kind of wind up and let her rip," Rupp said.
