A 6-0 7-6 (7-5) victory meant Hewett added to the doubles ***** le he won alongside fellow Briton Gordon Reid on Friday.

John Galliano has canceled his Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibit, saying in a statement shared Monday (Aug. 31) that he remains "fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past."
In the statement, which comes amid mounting criticism against the designer, Galliano expressed gratitude to Anna Wintour and others involved with staging the exhibit, but conceded that the planned project should not move forward.
"After much reflection and discussion with all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time," Galliano said Monday, in part. "I remain fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities, and I remain deeply sorry. I understand that meaningful atonement is not achieved through an exhibition, institutional recognition, or a single public gesture. It is a continuing responsibility, demonstrated through listening, learning, and one's conduct over time."

Sept 2 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John Williams said on Wednesday rising long-term bond yields aren't driven by inflation fears but are instead a reflection of a solid economy, in ‌comments that also said he was still collecting information to drive his next monetary policy decision.
In terms of the ‌increase in real-world borrowing costs, "what's driving it…is really a strong U.S. economy and a strong economic outlook fueled by big investments in AI and data centers and technology in general, so I see this as more of a reflection of the strength of the economy," Williams said on CNBC.
Williams downplayed the idea that worries over inflation are driving a surge in borrowing costs. Market moves have rattled investors and even prompted action by the Treasury Department aimed at helping limit the increase.
Williams indicated that higher borrowing costs, which in theory should create restraint on economic activity, ‌don't definitely drive the monetary policy choices of ⁠a central bank that must take responsibility for getting too-high levels of inflation back to the 2% target.

The Los Angeles Rams are just a week away from kicking off their 2026 season in Australia, starting the year with a rivalry game against the San Francisco 49ers. Their 53-man roster is set and on Thursday, the Rams released their first unofficial depth chart of the regular season.
It's much briefer than the preseason depth chart because there are 37 fewer players on it, and even though it's unofficial, it's still useful to see how the team looks heading into Week 1. While it's not a direct reflection of how the coaching staff views starters and backups, it does show where the Rams are deepest and where they could use some more depth.
The Rams have plenty of talent at wide receiver with seven players on the depth chart, but it's clear they're a little thin at offensive tackle. Keagen Trost's injury makes David Quessenberry the backup at left and right tackle. Tutu Atwell is buried as the No. 7 wide receiver, behind CJ Daniels and Xavier Smith.
At quarterback, Stetson Bennett is penciled in as the backup to Matthew Stafford, though Sean McVay has yet to commit to a QB2 between him and Ty Simpson. As was the case in the preseason, the Rams have four co-starters at tight end: Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen and Terrance Ferguson.
There are no real surprises on defense. Aaron Donald, who was a late arrival after coming out of retirement, replaces Braden Fiske as a starter at defensive end, joining Poona Ford and Kobie Turner up front.

Elastic N.V. (NYSE:ESTC) delivered a quarter that should have won over Wall Street. An earnings beat, growing enterprise adoption of its AI-powered search and cloud platform, and guidance pointing to continued revenue growth through fiscal 2027.
The AI-fueled beat led shares spiking more than 15% in after-hours trading, but DA Davidson chose to remain Neutral on the stock. On August 28, the firm raised its price target on Elastic NV (NYSE:ESTC) shares to $100 from $80 while maintaining a Neutral rating.
For first quarter of fiscal 2027 ending July 31, 2026, the Search AI Company announced total revenues of $478 million, an increase of 15% year-over-year. Total subscription revenue also rose by the same percentage year-over-year to $449 million. Sales-led subscription revenue was $399 million, an increase of 18% year-over-year.
Sales-led subscription revenue is a reflection of Elastic's progress with its larger customers, a segment management is explicitly focused on to improve for achieving its long-term financial and product milestones. The company also reported adding more than 80 customers with annual contract value above $100,000, bringing the total to over 1,800.
Firm Da Davidson particularly mentioned the company's improving demand for Elastic's Security solution backed by a heightened threat landscape.

SentinelOne (NYSE:S) reported solid second-quarter performance when it reported on August 27. Despite a clean beat, shares surged down in extended and post-announcement trading, with investors focused instead on a trimmed profit/ EPS outlook for future quarters and high restructuring costs.
However, not everyone on Wall Street is pessimistic about SentinelOne's story. On August 28, Scotiabank ******* yst Patrick Colville raised the firm's price target on the stock to $26 from $23.50 and kept an Outperform rating on the shares.
For the second quarter, total revenue for S grew 21% to $292 million, compared to $242 million in the same quarter last year. Annualized recurring revenue (ARR) grew 22% to $1,218 million, while customers with ARR of $100,000 or more grew 13% to 1,715. These customer additions are a reflection of the company's market penetration and strategic demand for its platform. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share was $0.08, double the prior year.
Despite the obvious beats, the one factor Scotiabank particularly focused on was new Annual Recurring Revenue, coming in above management's guidance. Net new ARR measures how much new recurring revenue the company is adding to each quarter. The firm slightly increased its third and fourth quarter net new annual recurring revenue estimates as management indicated expectations for fiscal 2027 annual recurring revenue growth in the mid-single digits. This is up from prior guidance of low-single digit growth.
Another factor bulls pointed out for SentinelOne has been its AI readiness spending acceleration broadening across industries. SentinelOne's core endpoint and AI native products including agentic SOC, Purple, and runtime security are likely to benefit from improved demand based on this acceleration.

My eleven-year-old is still trying to learn the Dougie. Over a decade since it entered the cultural bloodstream, and it is still moving through generations like a living thing. I grew up on the Running Man, the Kid-n-Play kick step, the Wop. These were not just moves. They were rituals, practiced on living-room floors, performed at local parties. And yet, in most cases, I had no idea who originated them. I knew the artists who introduced them to the zeitgeist. Still, the actual creators, the people whose bodies birthed the movement, had essentially vanished from the record. That gap, between cultural impact and cultural credit, is precisely what Connor Lim is trying to close. So, we brought him onto the latest episode of the FROM THE CULTURE podcast to better understand how.
Lim is the co-founder and CEO of the International Dance League, the world's first global professional dance league. Six city-based teams, a regular season, a championship, and, as of this past summer, a global media rights deal with ESPN. IDL grew out of STEEZY, an online dance education platform he built after a childhood in Queens, completely consumed by the craft. For most people, dance is considered an art form, but Lim sees it as that and much more: a sport. Consider the battle traditions of breaking, krumping, and voguing, and Lim's perspective no longer feels like much of a stretch. In fact, breakdancing made its Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Games as an official event, a testament to dance's competitive nature. It's this thesis that fuels Lim's ambition for the IDL to make dance as big of a sport as basketball, football, or baseball. However, unlike athletes, dancers have never sat inside a structure that captures the value they generate.

This is a double-edged sword because, even as an art, dance misses out on this value capture. Music has royalties, touring, and publishing rights. In the longer format, patience and discipline are traditional routes to building an innings. The beauty lies in embracing that challenge when the situation demands it.

South Zone found themselves in a similar situation on Monday. At 80/5, they were staring at the prospect of conceding first-innings lead to North Zone, who had posted 195 in their Duleep Trophy semifinal at the BCCI Centre of Excellence here.

What followed over the next 271 minutes was an exhibition of restraint and disciplined batsmanship as Tilak Varma (106 batting, 225b, 7x4) and Shreyas Gopal (87, 169b, 11x4) took centre stage with a 175-run sixth-wicket partnership. Their stand eventually turned the tide, helping South secure a first-innings lead. They were 285/9 at stumps, 90 runs ahead on the second day.

South, who resumed on 40/2, were rocked by the brilliance of pacer Gurnoor Brar (4/70), who arrived in the city from the Sri Lanka tour on Friday. Making the most of windy conditions, Brar produced a peach in his fifth delivery of the day to disturb Narayan Jagadeesan's stumps. He struck again soon after, producing a similar delivery to castle R Smaran's off stump before dismissing Kodimela Himateja for a duck.

With their backs against the wall, Tilak and Shreyas joined hands and tested the North bowlers' patience.

The Karnataka all-rounder brought up his first four off the 42nd ball he faced. Tilak did not find the boundary again until his 154th delivery, with that four taking South into the lead. Having curbed his instincts and reached his fifty without a boundary, the Hyderabad batter gradually shifted gears.

Shreyas, meanwhile, completed his fifty in 107 ******* and looked in control as he appeared on course for his seventh first-class hundred. But pacer Arshdeep Singh ended his vigil when he edged one through to stand-in wicketkeeper Abdul Samad.

With South's tail beginning to crumble, Tilak was in danger of missing out on a deserved century. The Hyderabad batter, though, held his nerve, smashing two successive fours off Gurnoor to bring up his eighth first-class hundred in 219 ******* .

Interestingly, all seven of Tilak's fours came after he reached his fifty — a reflection of the restraint that underpinned his innings. With South nine down, he will be eager to carry that momentum into the third day and stretch their lead into three figures and beyond.

The 2027 Met Gala will no longer honor John Galliano following mounting backlash against an exhibit dedicated to the controversial British designer.
Galliano, 65, announced in an Instagram statement Monday that he was pulling out of the iconic New York City event. "After much reflection and discussion with all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time," he wrote.
He continued: "I do not want the debate surrounding me to place the Met in a difficult position or to distract from the remarkable work of the Costume Institute. I also recognise and respect that an exhibition honouring my work would be painful for some."
The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced last month that the annual event would be **** led "John Galliano: Horizon," prompting immediate criticism over the decision to platform the designer after antisemitic and racist remarks he made in 2011.

Last week, Denver Broncos head coach went scorched earth on FS1's Geoff Schwartz for his Bo Nix take on First Things First. After a few days of reflection, Payton addressed the situation once and for all after the Broncos' final preseason game, a win over the Minnesota Vikings on Friday night.
"That was crazy, wasn't it?" Payton said of the viral exchange. "I can't help myself, though. When I see something like that, I'm sorry. It's just, I have a pause and then it's like, 'What are you watching?' Just watch the tape."

Skims has made two major changes to its leadership positions, including the hiring of former Supreme chief creative officer Eric Magee.

For Q2 2026, Liberty Broadband's standalone performance reflected GCI's steady operational baseline, generating steady regional revenue and positive free cash flow. However, because over 80% of Liberty Broadband's net **** et value was tied directly to its Charter common stock ownership, Liberty's financial health was effectively a leveraged reflection of Charter's core performance.
In terms of financial strength, CHTR is performing better execution-wise as an operating entity. ESPN and Words + Pictures announced on Thursday that Saban, a "landmark multi-part ESPN Original docuseries chronicling the life, legacy and extraordinary career of Hall of Fame coach Nick Saban," will premiere on Thursday, October 8, with all six episodes being made available on the ESPN app at launch.
The first episode will debut on ESPN's network on October 8 at 6 p.m. ET, with the remaining five episodes airing throughout October and early November.
Directed by Russell Dinallo and produced by Words + Pictures' Connor Schell, Libby Geist, Aaron Cohen, and Alexa Conway, along with Tom Rinaldi, with Gabe Honig serving as co-executive producer and showrunner, Saban will chronicle Saban's 17-season coaching career as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, during which he won six National Championships.

Liverpool's transfer plans have been questioned this summer and fan Sam Milne believes the Reds have been too "scattergun" in their approach for a new forward player.
Andoni Iraola's side have been linked to a host of new attackers, including Paris St-Germain duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, and have had offers knocked back for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh - and are now exploring a move for Crystal Palace's Isamila Sarr in the last week of the transfer window.
Speaking on BBC Radio Merseyside, Milne said: "I was surprised at first because if you look at the right wingers that Liverpool have been trying to sign all summer, they have all been very different.
"The reaction to the bid for Sarr has been quite negative. I don't think that's a reflection on Sarr himself because Liverpool fans have seen what he can do against us - I think he's scored six goals against Liverpool. It's more the difference in Sarr to the other players that have been linked.
"The rumours came out about Minteh and Liverpool put £60m in for him. An injured Minteh and a left-footed Minteh - which is interesting because Mohamed Salah was left-footed and Yan Diomande was both-footed, but Mbaye wasn't left-footed and neither is Sarr. Dolly Parton, the songwriter and singer from Locust Ridge, Tennessee, died Tuesday, Aug. 25. Her death sparked a tsunami of support and reflection from the media, her family and friends, colleagues, and her fans.
When someone lives a life as loudly and publicly as Parton did for 80 years, it's of little surprise that that person will be written about for days, weeks, and years to come after their death. But one article about Parton from The Washington Post is getting a lot of attention — and it's because its author missed a crucial detail of the singer's life.
"Dolly Parton's lack of children demonstrated that the world could in fact love a woman who wasn't a mother," the Post wrote on X — a statement that's already fairly outrageous. The message continued, "But more importantly, she was proof that a person could be an advocate for children while personally choosing against parenting."
In her column, Ashley Fetters Maloy wrote that she loves Parton "for the same reasons everyone loves Dolly Parton." For Maloy, that list includes that her "songs are undeniably powerful, her joy infectious, her hair magnificent" and her "quietly subversive jokes about her ***** and her fashion sense will never not be funny, or poignant."
(I feel compelled to note here that people loved Parton for many, many more reasons — for example, those of us who also grew up in small Southern towns and who have been on the receiving end of a whole lot of judgement for that have often been buoyed by Parton's take-no-prisoners approach to being true to who she was, where she was from, and what that meant culturally over the decades.)

Dolly Parton's death at 80 years old this week has sparked numerous tributes and sweet reflections on the Queen of Country Music's legacy. It's also shining a light on a symbol that played a significant role in Parton's life: the ******* erfly.
If you Google Parton's name on Wednesday, you'll see a flurry of ******* erflies across the screen, along with the words "We'll Always Love You." The 9 to 5 actor, who died after a "brief battle with cancer," has long incorporated ******* erflies into her work, making them a central theme of her 1974 track "Love is Like a ******* erfly" as well as using them in her clothing, stage shows and even in the logo for her Pigeon Forge, Tenn., amusement park, Dollywood, where the W is a pair of ******* erfly wings. She's also previously shared that she has pastel ******* erfly tattoos, which, like her other hidden tattoos, she got to cover scars.
In an interview with W Magazine in 2021, Parton explained why ******* erflies, which she "loved" all her life, were her favorite symbol.
"They didn't sting. They didn't bite, and they were so beautiful," she said. Parton explained that while growing up in Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains, she would get "lost in the woods," and "wander off" chasing after the insects from "one bush to another."
