Britain's Alfie Hewett beat Tokito Oda to clinch a fifth US Open men's wheelchair singles ***** le and prevent the ***** anese top seed from completing a clean sweep at the Grand Slams in 2026.
A 6-0 7-6 (7-5) victory meant Hewett added to the doubles ***** le he won alongside fellow Briton Gordon Reid on Friday.
Hewett, 28, lost to Oda in the finals of the French Open and Wimbledon earlier this year, winning only two games in a 6-1 6-1 defeat at SW19, while the ***** anese also triumphed at January's Australian Open.
Hewett told BBC Sport that his loss to Oda at Wimbledon made him "look in the mirror" and a period of reflection led to him wanting to "be a little bit more like me" as he pursued an 11th Grand Slam singles ***** le.
"I'm known for being just as fearless, brave and courageous in big moments and I felt I was everything but that in Wimbledon," Hewett said.

The U.S. Tennis ***** ociation announced the 16-player fields for men's singles, women's singles and quad singles on Monday. There are also eight-team doubles competitions.

The top seeds claimed a 6-2 6-3 victory over Spain's Martin de la Puente and France's Stephane Houdet to win their 24th Grand Slam ****** le together.
"This was one of the toughest tournaments we faced when we first started playing doubles with each other and it took us a fair few years to get our hands on this trophy," Hewett said during the trophy presentation.
"To win seven in a row is some achievement and I just want to say it's an absolute pleasure to be your doubles partner."
With the crowd cheering against them, in favour of home hope Houdet, Hewett and Reid produced a clinical performance - hitting 29 winners to their opponents' 14 and winning 55% of points on the French-Spanish duo's first serve.
