Most Valuable Promotions and Professional Fighters League on Thursday announced a merger "bringing together world-class boxing, MMA, live events, athlete development, and worldwide content distribution under one fighter-first organization, creating a combat sports company for the new era."
The combined company will operate under the MVP banner. It will be led by Co-Founders and Board Members Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, with John Martin serving as CEO and Board Member.
""Since launching MVP, our goal has always been bigger than just building a boxing promotion. It has been to build the future of combat sports. In less than five years, MVP has become one of the most influential and culturally relevant brands in the industry, producing some of the biggest events in combat sports history, elevating women's boxing to unprecedented heights, and bringing millions of new fans into the fight game. The success of MVP MMA's first event confirmed our belief that there is enormous demand for a modern, fighter-first approach to MMA. This merger accelerates our MMA ambitions while strengthening our ability to continue investing in boxing and MVPW. By combining MVP's audience-building engine, storytelling capabilities, and brand with PFL's roster, infrastructure, and international footprint, we are creating a new global home for combat sports. Under the leadership of John Martin, a world-class media executive with deep MMA knowledge, and investment from leading financiers 885 Capital and Knighthead Capital, MVP is going to achieve great things for fighters, fans, and partners," said Nakisa Bidarian, Co-founder and Board Member of Most Valuable Promotions.

This merger brings scale - in operations, in distribution and media rights, in sponsorship, in fighter development and in fan engagement. We're not just combining companies, we're bringing an entire combat sports community together and creating a more powerful platform to accelerate growth. One company, one global stage, millions of fans and we're only just getting started. Hey Creatorverse readers,
Amid all the chatter about brand deals and follower counts, the charitable side of creators is often overlooked. This past week, two major creators — MrBeast (510 million YouTube subscribers) and Jacksepticeye (31 million subscribers) — doubled down on giving back.
Though MrBeast and Jacksepticeye are the two creators making headlines right now, philanthropic efforts are baked into the work of many creators, partially because giveaways and community alignment are so core to the creator ecosystem. That focus has translated into an increase in donations from Millennial and Gen Z audiences as donations overall have declined.
MrBeast partnered with Disney and Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) on "I Granted 100 Kids Their Biggest Wish!" a video that chronicled celebrities like MrBeast, Dwayne Johnson and LeBron James granting some of the biggest dreams to children who have been diagnosed with cancer. The goal of the video is to increase awareness for pediatric cancer and raise funds for research, which naturally includes an elaborate MrBeast giveaway for anyone who donates to the charity Give Kids The World. Since being posted on Sunday, the video has accumulated over 30 million views. Those views will only increase as the video remains on MrBeast's channel for the next six months.
"We've never had an opportunity like this to engage people all over the world, and certainly not through a creator platform at this scale. So, it's truly a 'first' for SU2C," Pam Williams, a member of the SU2C founders and advisors committee, told me. So far it's a strategy that's working. The video has been seen by people in 68 countries so far, and almost 90% of donators are supporting the organization for the first time.

Amelia Dimoldenberg knew exactly where she drew the line when fans suggested a surprise guest for Chicken Shop Date. The YouTube star revealed she wouldn't invite UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham onto her hit dating series, even though she welcomed the idea of speaking with him elsewhere.
Her comments arrived as she reflected on more than a decade of internet success. She also opened up about mentoring young creatives through her growing media platform.
Speaking to the BBC, Dimoldenberg quickly dismissed the idea of Burnham appearing on Chicken Shop Date.
"I don't think that maybe he's my type for Chicken Shop Date," she said.
The creator explained that politicians simply didn't fit the show's playful format. However, she supported Burnham's reported interest in working with digital creators because many people now consumed news through social media.

About 80 metro Detroit youths got a firsthand look at how golf and technology can merge during the inaugural Youth Golf and Tech expo on Wednesday, July 22.
Presented by Black Tech Saturdays and the Rocket Classic, the event gave participants an opportunity to test their golf skills with mentors from Midnight Golf along with hands-on tech demonstrations.
Black Tech Saturdays (BTS) created the expo to celebrate the Rocket Classic, as it concludes an eight-year run in Detroit later this month and hopes the city’s youth will build on the tournament’s legacy.
“We really want to make sure youth get to see it, touch it, feel it with technology from robotics, digital automation to video game creation with local creators, but really pulling together what you would say is the three pipelines,” said BTS co-founder JohnnieTurnage, referring to the Expo’s partnerships with Midnight Golf, First Tee and BTS.
Dean Bokuniewicz, director of marketing for the Rocket Classic, was happy with the expo’s turnout.

The Kentucky Wildcats still have one final roster spot remaining, but Mark Pope isn't in any rush to get it filled. As the team heads to Las Vegas for some bonding and a few fun events, the third-year head coach is feeling good about his roster as he enters Year 3.
Pope joined KSR on Wednesday for a handful of questions from Matt Jones, and he didn't hold anything back as the listeners wanted honest answers from the Wildcats coach. When asked if he would add a player to this upcoming season's roster, Pope said the coaching staff is always in an active recruiting ******* e, but he's very content with where his team is at right now.
"Maybe. We're still active. I love my roster right now, but if we find the right piece at the right time, it could look different. It could be a devolpmental piece or it could be a depth piece," Pope said on KSR.
"I like our gym. Our gym feels good. You know, we set out with some very clear intentions as we worked through the portal, trying to put this particular team together, and I think I like where we are. I think we have a ton of creator vibe, and we're seeing that on the practice floor," Pope added.
As always, Pope has been raving about the current form of his roster. The backcourt depth has been a big emphasis as the coaching staff brought in a couple of true playmakers with size, unlike the past couple of seasons. Bringing in true shot creators, surrounded by shooters, will be a big help to this squad.

Every July, all 30 teams cram into two gyms in Las Vegas and we collectively overreact to basketball games that will be forgotten by Halloween. And yet, Summer League matters because it's the one place where every fanbase, from the contenders to the doomed, gets to squint at a 19-year-old and think, "Hey, he's gonna be a guy for us!"
Here are the 50 players I'll be watching, including one player from every team. Some are star rookies. Others are second-year guys who need to show something. A handful are just fighting for a chance in the league.
Peterson's lone Kansas season was a medical drama with a hamstring strain, mysterious cramps, and 11 frustrating absences. So naturally, he showed up in Salt Lake City and reminded everyone why he was still the second pick: 28 in his debut against Atlanta, including a 3 to answer a fourth-quarter push and another to break a tie in overtime. Two days later, 25 points and 12 ****** ists against Memphis. The guy with the cramps appears gone. The high school phenom has returned.
In high school, he was a dynamic playmaker who used his burst to get into the teeth of defenses and generate buckets for himself and his teammates, while also showing off the kind of shot-making that draws comparisons to Hall of Famers. At Kansas, he thrived in an off-ball role, stroking jumpers out of movement actions and showing he can scale up or down depending on what a roster needs. With Utah, he appears to be combining both of those skills to so far look like the star of the summer. Will this run continue? On Thursday night, he'll face off against the one player drafted ahead of him.
Dybantsa could become one of the NBA's most unstoppable shot-creators, but he's already under pressure entering his Summer League debut on Thursday with a matchup against Darryn Peterson, who is looking like a superstar for Utah, and with the third pick, Grizzlies forward Cameron Boozer, resembling a veteran All-Star.

Brooke Shields is calling out "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone over what she describes as a "disheartening" dispute between staff and management at the Colorado restaurant co-owned by the two men.
In an interview with CNN published over the weekend, Shields revealed she used a fake name when she visited Casa Bonita in March to deliver a letter asking for better wages and improved safety conditions for the restaurant's live performers.
Buzz: Rob Reiner Gets To Blast 'Narcissistic *****' Trump 1 Last Time Thanks To Larry David
"The place is so big it took a while for management to realize we were there," the "Suddenly Susan" actor told the outlet. "And then word got out because, you know, I didn't have a hat on and mustache or anything."
She went on to note: "It was slightly an ambush… you try doing things respectfully, and then you're not met with equal respect… so you have to resort to other tactics."

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) was among the stocks on Jim Cramer's Mad Money radar as he taught investors how to profit from the upcoming wave of takeovers. Cramer noted why the stock "could be punished," as he commented:
Second worst performer, Amazon, off 12% from June. My Trust owns Microsoft; it owns this Amazon. This is a tough one because the company's doing so much right, but they're not getting credit for their advertising business or the Prime offerings. Wall Street only seems to care right now about Amazon Web Services, which is actually doing much better than expected, but it isn't pleasing buyers.
Nobody seems to have any interest in what could be a potentially $50 billion semiconductor business that's under the same roof. Investors are worried here. Yes, they are. They are worried. Why? Because they want free cash flow. Amazon used to have it. They need to start making money with AI next year, no matter what, or else. Because otherwise you can't justify the extreme capital expenditures. We need to see a bountiful return, or the declines will continue, and the stock could be punished.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Luciano Spalletti wants to give Douglas Luiz a fresh start at Juventus by deploying him as a regista, a deep-lying playmaker role similar to how Stanislav Lobotka operated in his Napoli side. The manager wants to test the Brazilian midfielder in this position before the pre-season friendlies begin.
This tactical experiment is further influenced by Juventus’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, as a successful transition for Douglas Luiz would allow the club to save money and avoid spending heavily on another midfield signing.
His loan stint back at Aston Villa showed clear glimpses of his high technical baseline and ball retention. Under a manager like Spalletti, who excels at maximizing deep-lying creators, Douglas Luiz can provide the exact press-resistance and distribution Juventus needs from a structured midfield anchor, solving an expensive problem internally.

Qualcomm agreed to acquire AI software startup Modular in an all-stock deal valued at $3.92 billion, the semiconductor company said Wednesday, as it works to expand beyond smartphone chips into data center and edge AI markets.
Equity holders of Modular will receive up to 19.2 million newly issued Qualcomm common shares through a private placement, according to the company. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Modular builds software that allows AI models to run across different hardware architectures — including chips from multiple vendors — without requiring developers to rewrite code for each processor. The platform supports CPU, GPU, NPU, and custom chip architectures, the company said.
Qualcomm said the acquisition is intended to deepen its software capabilities for data center AI, supporting inference, orchestration, and deployment across distributed systems. It also positions the chipmaker to attract developers, cloud service providers, and model creators who want hardware flexibility.
"As agentic AI scales across data centers and edge environments, the industry is moving toward disaggregated, multi-vendor architectures that demand a more open and modern software foundation," Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon said in a statement.

Ohio State basketball legend Bruce Thornton has found a home in the NBA.
Thornton was the first pick of the second round of the NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. The Rockets seem to have targeted Thornton because they had to package multiple second-round selections to secure the No. 31 pick and take the Buckeye floor general. Technically, it was the New York Knicks who selected Thornton, but that is just for logistical purposes, as the trade could not be made official until the new league year.
Thornton left Columbus as Ohio State's all-time leading scorer after a four-year career in which he started every game. In his senior season, Thornton averaged 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.9 ****** ists while shooting 55.4 from the field. He also shot 40 percent from 3-point range and 82.9 percent at the free-throw line. It is those stats that showcased his three-level scoring and efficiency that attracted many NBA teams.
The 6-foot, 223-pound guard was a four-year captain as well and had one evaluation call him "a high-IQ playmaker." Thornton projects as a potential rotational guard who can ****** e the floor and fit alongside ball-dominant creators. His 6-5 wingspan and stout frame will allow him to absorb contact and be able to handle himself defensively.
Bruce's selection adds to Ohio State's lineage of NBA guards and cements his legacy as one of the most productive players to ever wear the scarlet and gray.

Chelsea’s transfer strategy has rarely lacked aggression, and their move for Marco Palestra appears to be another example of that sharp, opportunistic approach. As reported by Nizaar Kinsella, the Atalanta defender is now set for Stamford Bridge in a deal worth around £43m.
The key line is striking: “Chelsea are set to sign Atalanta defender Marco Palestra for a fee around £43m. The move is a hijack of Inter’s offer and green-lit by Xabi Alonso. Feeling is that he can play in both wing back and full back positions. Fits within the wage structure.”
For Liverpool, who were linked with the player, this is another reminder of how quickly the market can move. Interest is one thing. Execution is another. Chelsea, for all the criticism that has followed their recruitment model in recent years, remain capable of identifying a target, moving decisively and bending the race in their favour.
Palestra’s appeal is not difficult to understand. Modern elite football asks defenders to do more than defend. Full backs are creators, recovery runners, auxiliary midfielders and sometimes even wide forwards. The line that he can play “in both wing back and full back positions” explains why clubs of Liverpool, Chelsea and Inter’s stature would all be interested.
That versatility matters. Squads are being built for tactical flexibility as much as depth. A player who can operate in different systems gives a coach options without requiring a reshuffle every time injuries, form or opposition demands change the plan.

For decades, soccer in the United States carried a reputation as a sport many Black children couldn't easily access.
Unlike basketball or football, which are often rooted in schools and local communities, youth soccer increasingly became ***** ociated with expensive club teams, travel leagues and a pay-to-play system that created barriers for many families.
Former U.S. Men's National Team goalkeeper Tim Howard said those barriers continue to impact who gets access to the sport.
"With a pay-to-play model," Howard told Blavity, "socioeconomically, we sort of outcast so much of this country."
Yet as the FIFA World Cup unfolds, Black players, supporters, creators and storytellers are more visible throughout the sport than ever before. From African nations competing on soccer's biggest stage to the rise of Black soccer media in the United States, many see this moment as evidence of how Black soccer culture has continued to grow despite longstanding barriers to entry.
