Caleb Williams broke a franchise record held by Mitch Trubisky and did it after a surprising celebrity call-out that went well for the former USC Trojans and current Bears star.
Williams revealed that he watched the violent action flick John Wick to prepare for his comeback game against Atlanta and had a chance to speak with lead actor Keanu Reeves, according to Jordan Schultz.
"I was watching John Wick for this week. One of my people reached out to him and he was a fan…I'm inevitable. That's always my mentality," Williams said.

Sandra Bullock's journey to becoming one of Hollywood's most recognizable stars began far from the blockbuster action movies that eventually made her famous. Growing up with an opera singer mother, she was introduced to performance at an early age and studied music, ballet and other forms of movement. Acting eventually became her focus, but major success did not arrive immediately. Bullock spent years building experience before finding the role that transformed her career. That gradual rise helped shape a performer known for moving comfortably between action, comedy, romance and drama.
Bullock began appearing professionally during the late 1980s, taking smaller roles as she worked toward greater opportunities. Her breakthrough finally arrived with Speed in 1994. Starring alongside Keanu Reeves, she played Annie Porter, a passenger forced to take control of a Los Angeles bus rigged to explode if its speed dropped below a dangerous threshold. The movie combined large scale action with humor and chemistry between its leads, turning Bullock into an international star.
The production also demanded considerable physical commitment. Bullock later described the genuine fear she experienced while filming scenes aboard the speeding bus. Although she was not actually controlling the vehicle during the most dangerous sequences, being positioned at the front made the action feel very real. That sense of physical vulnerability contributed to the urgency of her performance. She returned to the franchise for Speed 2: Cruise Control in 1997, this time facing danger aboard a runaway cruise ship.
Bullock was already looking beyond acting alone. In the 1990s, she established Fortis Films, giving her greater involvement in developing and producing projects. That experience became especially important with Miss Congeniality, the 2000 action comedy in which she played FBI agent Gracie Hart. A woman who found hairs in her Aldi dip has said she was disappointed the company included an AI prompt in its reply when she complained.
Jo Reeves from Cotteridge in Birmingham said she found the "vile" hairs when she popped out for a snack, while her partner was in hospital.
The AI prompt included the phrase: "Make it short and concise but do not overdo it" and Reeves said: "Everyone uses AI but the language is disappointing as a customer.
An Aldi spokesperson said: "This response fell well below our normal standards of customer service. We have contacted Ms Reeves directly to apologise and fully resolve the issue she had with our product."
Reeves said: "My partner was having an op in Worcester hospital so popped to the local Aldi to get 'recovery food'."

John Healey, the Chancellor, is facing backlash over plans to extend a windfall tax on UK oil and gas profits, with energy chiefs claiming this would destroy investment and accelerate job losses.
Russell Borthwick, the chief executive of the chamber of commerce in Aberdeen, which represents the likes of BP and Shell, said another tax raid would cripple an industry "which Britain cannot afford to lose".
Labour already taxes oil and gas profits at 78pc under an existing windfall levy which Rachel Reeves, the former chancellor, previously extended from 2028 to 2030.
Under a more punitive regime, Mr Healey could increase the levy and extend it beyond 2030, as reported by The Telegraph.

Tim Curry, the oddball English actor who gravitated toward playing kooky personalities like the extravagant Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and devilish villains like Pennywise the Clown in "It" and Mr. Hector in "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," has died. He was 80.
Curry died peacefully at his Toluca Lake home on Wednesday, his longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz confirmed. No cause of death was disclosed. Curry suffered a paralyzing stroke in 2012 that put him in a wheelchair, from which he said last year, "I've been recovering for quite a long time."
Celebrated for his versatility, cartoonish expressions and flamboyant style — all paired with a distinctly wry sense of humor — Curry soared to fame for his portrayal of the androgynous mad-scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the midnight movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

NatWest is seeking to rebuild its position in the US helped by changes to UK rules on overseas banking activities, reported the Financial Times.
Recently, the lender received approval from the US Federal Reserve to open a representative office in Connecticut that would "act as a liaison with current and prospective US customers of the bank".
The bank already operates a US-licensed broker-dealer in Stamford, Connecticut, which carries out trades for institutional investors including hedge funds.
This is the first notable effort by NatWest to expand in the US since the financial crisis.
It follows revisions to ringfencing rules introduced by former chancellor Rachel Reeves.

A former Michigan State tight end has been added to the Eastern Michigan roster for the 2026 season. Reeves Taylor has joined the Eagles, a late announcement before the season begins.
Taylor, a Dexter (MI) native, played at Ventura Community College in 2023, his freshman year. Following that, he joined Michigan State as a walk-on tight end. He did not see game action for MSU.
Following a season with the Spartans, Taylor went to Independence Community College to play quarterback. At Independence he Completed 45-of-72 passes for 449 yards and two touchdowns. Now, he has joined Eastern Michigan, where he is slated to be a long snapper for the Eagles.

Cheryl Reeve thinks that Olivia Miles belongs in the WNBA MVP conversation, and Minnesota's record gives that argument real weight. The Lynx improved to 31-7 after beating the Washington Mystics 94-84 Friday, earning their sixth straight win.

The Minnesota Lynx secured a 77-66 victory over the Golden State Valkyries, propelled by yet another standout performance from Olivia Miles. Miles orchestrated the offense, delivering a game-high 20 points, seven ***** ists, and five rebounds on 8-of-10 shooting before exiting in the fourth quarter.

The Packers came to the Cotton Bowl to face Dallas in the 1966 NFL Championship Game, which was held on New Year's Day 1967. The winner would represent the NFL in the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game, now known as Super Bowl I.
Dallas, a seven-season expansion franchise, had never achieved a winning record or postseason appearance. However, under the guidance of Tom Landry, their young team went 10-3-1, clinched the Eastern Conference ****** le, and earned the privilege of hosting Vince Lombardi's defending champions, the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay arrived at 12-2, boasting a roster brimming with championship experience. The 31-year-old's condition was described as "critical but stable" after he was admitted for treatment following his defeat to Gary Cully.

There was a rally outside the Target Center that pitted those supporting Fever reserve Sophie Cunningham, who told ESPN last week she believed trans athletes should not play against girls, against those with the opposite feeling. Minnesota coach Cheryl Reeve wore a shirt that read, "Trans kids belong," and had a pregame conversation with Cunningham, who was booed throughout the game.
Minnesota had a 96-82 lead with 6:41 to play before the Fever, who had scored 100 in a record six-straight games, pulled within 100-98 with more than 2 1/2 minutes to go. Miles and Williams both came up with big baskets as the Lynx won their 10th straight for the first time since 2016.
"First time playing each other, so there's a bit of a feeling out sort of thing," Reeve said. "And offense definitely had their way with each of the teams' defense. Certainly knew it probably wasn't going to be sustained, and it wasn't. We were hoping at some point our defense could be a separator.
The league's No. 1 offense definitely made life difficult for the league's No. 2 defense, but the Fever, who played in Portland on Friday night, struggled to stop the Lynx on the offensive end. A "reckless" young driver who killed two people in a crash while speeding has had her prison sentence increased at the Court of Appeal.
Attorney General Ellie Reeves KC referred the case of Liberty Mitchell to the court under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme, and it was increased from six years and eight months to nine years and three months.
Taxi driver Octavian Codreanu died at the scene and passenger Moyra Whelan died in hospital after the crash on the B4425 in Gloucestershire in December 2022.
Mitchell, 21, who passed her driving test three weeks before the crash, had admitted two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving while uninsured.

Last year, the United Soccer League began looking at Pensacola to set up a new team for its USL League One, but one of the biggest questions beyond who would invest in a team is where a team would play. Blue Wahoos Stadium may be the only viable answer.
Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves told the News Journal that the city will conduct a feasibility study into converting Blue Wahoos Stadium to host a soccer team along with the Minor League Baseball team.
“This is a feasibility study in every form of the word,” Reeves said. “Is this idea even possible? And if it turns out it is, then we can take another step.”
Several USL soccer teams share their stadiums with baseball teams, including Blue Wahoos' rival, the Knoxville Smokies, which shares the new Covenant Health Park with One Knoxville SC, a USL League One team.
USL, which has multiple levels, has been expanding in recent years as part of a plan to create a Division I league in 2028 that would compete for the same level of players as Major League Soccer. As part of that, it has been looking to start more teams at the Division III level, which is USL League One.

Before the Minnesota Lynx's road matchup against the Seattle Storm, head coach Cheryl Reeve gave Napheesa Collier a piece of advice ahead of her long-awaited return to the court.
"Cheryl (Reeve) did say ... 'It's going to take time to come back and to get settled in,'" Collier said Wednesday, July 22.
Well, it didn't take long for the five-time All-Star to get back into the swing of things. Collier recorded a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double in the Lynx's 86-76 win over the Storm, marking her first game since Sept. 26, 2025.
"I was just so excited. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I couldn't wait to get on the court to get with these guys," Collier said. "I was just really just happy to be here. ... It's just a year of pent-up excitement."
Collier underwent surgeries to both ankles this offseason after suffering multiple ankle injuries during the 2025 WNBA season. She injured her ankle during a 111-58 win over the Las Vegas Aces in August 2025 and missed 11 games. During Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals against the Phoenix Mercury, Collier suffered a Grade 2 tear of three ankle ligaments and her shin muscle after a collision with Alyssa Thomas.

The WNBA's best team is getting a massive boost ahead of the All-Star Game. Napheesa Collier, a four-time All-WNBA selection who led Minnesota to the Finals in 2024, is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Seattle Storm.
Minnesota has thrived without Collier, going 21-6 including an impressive 11-2 on the road. Olivia Miles has been the driving force. The Rookie of the Year favorite is averaging 19.6 points, six ***** ists and 4.8 ***** ists. Natasha Howard has also been stellar with averages of 16.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals.
Collier underwent surgeries on both of her ankles during the offseason. She had a right ankle procedure on New Year's Day then got her left ankle repaired in March. Collier returned to team activities on July 1, so she's had three weeks to ramp up her conditioning.
For her career, Collier averages 18.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks. Her return makes Minnesota the runaway ***** le favorite.
Collier is expected to suit up against Seattle. Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve told reporters earlier his month to not expect much of a minutes restriction upon Collier's return.

TRENTON, New Jersey — Gov. Mikie Sherrill built her political brand around her time piloting helicopters for the Navy.
As New Jersey's governor, she isn't in the ****** pit anymore. But she's a frequent flier.
Sherrill flew aboard a State Police helicopter eight times over roughly three months, according to records obtained by POLITICO. In one instance, the records show, Sherrill used a State Police helicopter to fly from New Jersey to Maryland to attend a "black-tie" alumni event at the Naval Academy, her alma mater.
Access to the helicopter is one of the perks of being New Jersey governor, albeit an expensive one. As of 2021, it cost taxpayers approximately $2,500 an hour for the governor to use the State Police helicopter, according to press reports.
Prior New Jersey governors have faced scrutiny over use of the state chopper, especially when it is not explicitly for state business. Democratic former Gov. Jim McGreevey used it for personal trips, which resulted in the New Jersey Democratic State Committee agreeing to reimburse the state $18,200. Republican former Gov. Chris Christie was ensnared in "choppergate" in 2011 when he arrived at his son's high school baseball game in a State Police helicopter. He and the New Jersey Republican Party reimbursed the state $3,300 days later, but the flights raised questions around his image as a fiscal hawk.
