A woman who found hairs in her Aldi dip has said she was disappointed the company included an AI prompt in its reply when she complained.
Jo Reeves from Cotteridge in Birmingham said she found the "vile" hairs when she popped out for a snack, while her partner was in hospital.
The AI prompt included the phrase: "Make it short and concise but do not overdo it" and Reeves said: "Everyone uses AI but the language is disappointing as a customer.
An Aldi spokesperson said: "This response fell well below our normal standards of customer service. We have contacted Ms Reeves directly to apologise and fully resolve the issue she had with our product."
Reeves said: "My partner was having an op in Worcester hospital so popped to the local Aldi to get 'recovery food'."

Amal Clooney's opening-night look at the Venice Film Festival combined custom Tom Ford, hundreds of thousands of dollars in Cartier jewelry and the kind of polished beauty expected from a major red carpet. One part of the finished look was considerably easier to copy.
For the Sept. 2 opening ceremony, hairstylist and makeup artist Dimitris Giannetos used Charlotte Tilbury products on Clooney, including the brand's Hot Lips 2 lipstick in Dancefloor Princess. A new PEOPLE breakdown lists the pink-nude lipstick at $39 alongside products for her complexion, eyes and cheeks ranging from $28 to $52.
Clooney paired the makeup with a custom black Tom Ford gown by Haider Ackermann and Cartier jewelry worth approximately $375,000. She was in Venice with husband George Clooney, who received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement during the festival's opening ceremony.
Giannetos kept the beauty considerably softer than the architecture of the dress. He described the overall effect as "soft and ethereal," pairing warm skin and defined eyes with a muted lip and long brunette waves that he had shifted into a richer "blurred brown" shade for fall.
Vogue Italia identified Clooney's gown as a custom Tom Ford design in black silk taffeta. The column silhouette was shaped by narrow sculptural panels and irregular razor-sharp pleats, while sheer black georgette panels ran along the sides.

New York Fashion Week occurs twice a year; once in February and once in September.
Each year brings a star-studded front row, with celebrities donning sky-high platform shoes, towering headdresses, and more out-there looks.
InStyle gathered 10 of the wildest and most memorable celebrity appearances, below.
Every year, twice a year, New York Fashion Week is a feast for all of the senses. You find yourself craning your neck left and right at whiplash speed just to take in all of the sumptuous looks sauntering down the runway, ID'ing the supermodels, and hoping for a glimpse of the star-studded front row. If you're really lucky, you may find yourself backstage, where you have a chance to inhale the hairspray that holds the looks together and swatch the lipsticks that define them; or you may find yourself in a showroom, tentatively running your fingers across a hand-embroidered beaded gown. And you can't forget the afterparties, where you'll more than likely be treated to a caviar-encrusted chicken nugget and a bespoke designer **** tail.
It shouldn't be surprising, then, that it's difficult to stand out in such a flurry of beauty and creativity. But a handful of celebrities have managed to leave an indelible mark on NYFW history. Teyana Taylor and Julia Fox consistently arrive in some of the most head-turning looks in the crowd, while Lil Nas X's pink feathered headdress extended high into the heavens (and back into the second row) at Christian Cowan in 2013. Famous kids also snag coveted front row seats—North West made her NYFW debut at the tender age of two.

NEW DELHI: Social media has found a fun new way to bring the 1980s back, with AI turning modern-day pictures into vintage portraits. The trend has now reached the Indian cricket team, with several players enjoying a hilarious surprise ahead of their T20I series against Afghanistan in Delhi.
Two days before the series, the Indian players gathered at their hotel for a photo session. But before it began, they found a table filled with AI-generated pictures of themselves.
The portraits, featured in a video shared by the BCCI, showed the players in classic 1980s looks, complete with bell-bottom jeans, big sunglasses and retro hairstyles.
India allrounder Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma picked up the portraits and burst out laughing as they showed them to their teammates. Jasprit ****** rah also joined in the fun.
Sanju Samson, Washington Sundar, Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube checked out their retro pictures and appeared amused by their new 1980s avatars.
Ishan Kishan, who recently led East Zone to Duleep Trophy glory, fully embraced the retro look. He held up his AI-generated picture, sang and posed for the camera as his teammates enjoyed the moment.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yash Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi also broke into smiles after seeing their 1980s avatars.
India and Afghanistan will face each other in a three-match T20I series, starting Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The second and third T20Is will be played on Tuesday and Thursday at the same venue.

Sandra Bullock has been taking a break from acting in recent years, but she's back to promote her movie on the 2026 release schedule, Practical Magic 2. And wow, am I realizing how much I missed her. Exhibit A: Her hilariously relatable rant about chin hairs.
Man, did I forget how real the actress can be, and then the Practical Magic 2 press tour came along. Bullock is just one of those celebrities that I want to be best friends with. As if I didn't already love her for calling herself "Zendaya's shoe polisher", just check out Sandra Bullock's thoughts on the topic of chin hairs:
This is a very important subject. My sister and I have an agreement. Should any of us be in a coma, the other one has to come to the hospital and always pluck the chin hair. Do you know what I mean? You're on it all the time, you're like, 'Oh, I got this thing.' But, you're still alive and awake. When that's no longer available what's going to grow without permission? Get the sister. That's why sisterhood is important.

Ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor once faced unexpected resistance from a royal family aide. Despite losing his prince **** le and royal honors, the palace staffer's actions reportedly left the disgraced royal shocked. King Charles later revoked Prince Andrew's royal status as the monarchy faced continued backlash over his ties to convicted **** offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Former Buckingham Palace press secretary **** ie Arbiter has recalled a never-before-heard clash with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
During his appearance on the Daily Expresso podcast, Arbiter revealed that he rejected one of Andrew's demands during a royal garden party. He later hung up on the ex-prince after the ousted royal slammed the phone down on him.
The episode unfolded at Buckingham Palace during the Lambeth Conference, the decennial summit of Anglican bishops. Around 100 clergy in crimson robes were in attendance when Andrew rang Arbiter with an idea for a picture.
The former palace official shared, "He phoned me up one day during a garden party at Buckingham Palace and said, 'Get some chairs out because I've got a good idea for a photograph.' There were about 100 priests in their crimson frocks at the garden party, and he thought it would make a good picture of the Queen with all the clergy around her. I just said, 'No, it's not your garden party.'"

New York Fashion Week officially kicked off with Ralph Lauren presenting his Spring 2027 women's collection with an intimate runway show, and naturally, the front row came dressed for the occasion.
Darian DiCianno/BFA.com
With leather, tailoring and a decidedly fall-leaning palette dominating the arrivals, the guests looked more ready for the season ahead than the collection being presented.
This head-to-toe olive Ralph Lauren look is not Elizabeth Debicki's usual style, but I'm not opposed to seeing her try something different. The relaxed trousers, shirt, tie and trench have an appealing menswear influence, although I think a different hairstyle would have sold it to me. Something slicked back would have complemented the tailoring and made the whole look feel sharper.

President Donald Trump appeared to have a different hairstyle on Sept. 4, the latest chapter in the long-running public interest in his hair.
Photos of Trump as he exited Air Force One in New Jersey en route to Trump National Golf Club Bedminster appeared to show his hair looking darker than usual. Trump has famously sported blonde hair, but it appeared brunette in photos taken at the Morristown Municipal Airport in Morristown, New Jersey.
The apparent change came days after he denied allegations that he wore a wig.
"I don't wear a wig," Trump said in a Sept. 2 speech describing a 2024 campaign rally. "That night, they found out I did not wear a wig because if you did, it was not going to be on your head very long."
Trump's Labor Day weekend trip comes as fighting between the United States and Iran intensified earlier this month. The war has sent gas prices to over $4 per gallon on average on the popular travel holiday, as diesel costs hit record highs.

Model Emily Ratajkowski is taking fashion lovers back in time with a spectacular archival cover shoot. Starring on the cover of EE72 magazine's Fall 2026 issue, the supermodel embraced full '90s nostalgia. Styled by chief creative officer Edward Enninful, Emily wore legendary runway pieces straight from Vivienne Westwood's iconic Fall/Winter 1993 collection. Photographed by Craig McDean, her daring tartan ensemble proved that true vintage fashion never goes out of style.
For the dramatic "Made in the 90s" cover story, Emily stepped into a museum-worthy plaid creation. The colorful tartan micro minidress featured a dangerously high hemline that showcased her long legs. The outfit combined rich red, green, and blue tartan fabrics. It was artfully layered with a fuzzy wool wrap, a fitted waist belt, and pleated side panels. Across her hips, she wore a traditional fur-trimmed sporran bag hanging from a delicate silver chain.
Stylist Edward Enninful carefully curated every detail to match Westwood's famous punk-meets-royalty aesthetic. On her head, Emily wore a matching tartan beret topped with a dramatic sweeping feather. Down below, she wore bright, colorful argyle socks pulled up her calves. She paired the socks with sky-high black lace-up platform heels. In behind-the-scenes video footage, Enninful admired the rare footwear and hat, calling the entire look a true museum piece.
During the photoshoot, Emily posed against a bold red studio backdrop while photographer Craig McDean directed her movements. He guided her to place her hands firmly on her hips and turn into a dramatic side profile. Emily worked the camera effortlessly, bringing moody, smoldering energy to every frame.
Meanwhile, her beauty team created a quintessential '90s grunge-glam look. Hairstylist Karim Belghiran gave her textured, messy waves with long fringe bangs. Makeup artist ***** Page finished the look with intense plum-smoky eyeshadow, sharp eyeliner, and a nude lip. Ultimately, Emily Ratajkowski brought a legendary fashion moment back to life with unmatchable supermodel poise.

Pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo continues to showcase her passion for edgy vintage fashion. Recently, the singer attended the "An Evening with Olivia Rodrigo" event at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Naturally, her stylish appearance captured everyone's attention. She cleverly repurposed an archival designer top into a thigh-skimming micro minidress. Ultimately, her unique outfit seamlessly blended spooky graphic elements with classic preppy aesthetic details.
For the special museum appearance on September 1, 2026, Olivia Rodrigo selected an iconic archival piece from ***** anese brand Undercover's Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Specifically, the vintage silk top showcases a soft peachy-orange shade with short sleeves. Furthermore, a contrasting black rounded collar and dark shoulder cap trims give the top a neat, structured silhouette. However, rather than pairing the top with pants or a skirt, Rodrigo wore the piece as a teeny tiny micro minidress.
The front of the dress features a detailed black ribcage and spine print running down the middle. Consequently, this bold skeleton graphic adds a rebellious, punk-rock twist to her sweet look. Moreover, celebrity stylists Chloe and Chenelle elevated the leggy silhouette by pairing the dress with semi-sheer black Wolford tights. The dark tights created a striking contrast against the bright orange silk fabric.
In addition, Rodrigo chose shiny black patent leather Stuart Weitzman "Babette" Mary Jane pumps ($495) for her footwear. The block-heel shoes featured delicate straps across her feet, injecting a dainty vintage charm into the edgy outfit. Furthermore, she kept her jewelry very subtle so the graphic vintage dress could remain the main focus.
Her beauty team complemented the look with effortless styling. Hairstylist Mary Kendall brushed her long dark locks into soft, glossy waves that fell over her shoulders. Meanwhile, makeup artist Karissa O'Hanlon gave her glowing skin, rosy flushed cheeks, and a glossy berry-pink lip. Overall, Rodrigo perfectly demonstrated her ability to turn a vintage top into an iconic micro-dress.

Joey King's Practical Magic 2 LA premiere look wasn't just about the dramatic Ilya Mingmoon gown. Her softly textured waves were created by celebrity hairstylist Rena Calhoun, who took inspiration from Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite hair to complement the romantic, slightly eerie mood of the look.
Calhoun used HONEYQUE throughout the process, with maintaining Joey's hair health a priority midway through a press tour that has required near-daily heat styling.
"I first prepped her hair with the HONEYQUE Deep Repair Moisturizing Shampoo + Hair Treatment. Joey is about midway through press, and with her hair being heat-styled almost every day, maintaining its health and integrity is key. The combination of Manuka honey and proteins helps moisturise, repair and strengthen while keeping the hair soft, airy and lightweight," Calhoun explained.
After towel-drying, she applied the HONEYQUE Deep Repair Honey + Protein Hair Mist to damp hair for hydration and heat protection.
Rather than creating perfectly uniform waves, Calhoun wanted to retain Joey's natural texture. Flat-setting clips were placed around the front to sculpt the hair around her face, while the rest was diffused with an Ion Luxe Turbosonic Hair Dryer.

Red carpet glamour may look effortless, but behind every polished celebrity appearance is usually a team of professionals working together. Stylists, makeup artists and hairstylists help stars prepare for major events, making sure every detail feels right before the cameras start flashing. For many celebrities, getting ready is less about following a strict formula and more about trusting experienced people who understand their personal style. The process can feel like playing dress up, with different outfits, beauty looks and accessories tested until everything comes together.
Celebrities often describe the experience as highly collaborative. Stylists may bring several clothing options, but the final choice still depends on what makes the person wearing it feel comfortable and confident. Stars can suggest changes, remove details or add something that better reflects their personality. Even when the glam team does most of the technical work, personal input remains important. The strongest red carpet looks are often the ones that feel natural to the person wearing them rather than simply following whatever happens to be fashionable at the moment.
Preparation can also begin long before the makeup brushes and clothing racks arrive. Eating well, drinking enough water and taking care of the skin can help create a better starting point for the beauty team. Just as important is working with familiar professionals who understand a celebrity's face, preferences and comfort level. That trust can make the hours before an event feel less stressful, especially when the same makeup artist or hairstylist has developed a recognizable approach over years of working together.
Makeup artist Gucci Westman is one example of how personal that relationship can become. Her work has been described as gentle and artistic, almost like painting a face rather than simply applying cosmetics. For a celebrity, having someone who knows exactly how to create a familiar look can provide confidence before stepping into an environment filled with cameras and attention. The same principle applies to fashion styling, where understanding the person matters just as much as understanding clothes.
Stylist Erin Walsh, known for working with stars including Anne Hathaway and Selena Gomez, describes red carpet dressing as a collaboration. Trends can provide inspiration and help fashion continue evolving, but they should not completely control the final look. Instead, pieces of current trends can be adapted to suit an individual's personality, comfort and appearance. That may be the real secret behind memorable red carpet style. The best looks are not created by one person alone, but through teamwork, trust and a shared understanding of what makes someone feel their best.

Berets have recently become John Travolta's signature look as the Grease star was spotted rocking another one at the Ramones 50th anniversary tribute.
Travolta, 72, took to the stage at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Sunday, August 30, with Linda Ramone — the widow of the late Johnny Ramone — while wearing a red beret, a leather biker jacket, round sunglasses and, naturally, a Ramones tee.
"Two years ago, I had the pleasure of experiencing the Hollywood Forever Johnny Ramone Tribute for the first time. It was a blast, and I want to return again for the Ramones tribute! With showing something new, my directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach. And something old, the 50th anniversary of [the] original Carrie. It is going to be a fun night. See you there," he said in a statement, per Daily Mail.
The bold fashion choice came three months after the Hairspray actor debuted a similar white beret on the red carpet at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in May.
"I love it," he told People when asked about the headwear in New York on May 21. "Once Vogue and Harper's Bazaar voted me the best dressed at Cannes, I went, 'Okay, we've arrived.'"

"I love it," he told People when asked about the headwear in New York on May 21. "Once Vogue and Harper's Bazaar voted me the best dressed at Cannes, I went, 'Okay, we've arrived.'"

CHICAGO — On the last day of June, the flags danced in a stiff wind above Wrigley Field and Moe Mullins arrived more than three hours before first pitch, just like usual. He set up his camping chair under the ash tree at the corner of Waveland and Kenmore, across the street from the back of the left-field bleachers, and the neighborhood slowly came to life.
In time, the street vendors appeared and the merchandise stands opened and the patio at Murphy's, a block away, started to fill in. Soon, the spectators gathered along the brick wall and waited for the bleacher gates to open. For a while, though, it was quiet, and the last refuge of old Wrigley, and its old neighborhood, belonged to Mullins.
He is the unofficial mayor of Waveland and Kenmore avenues, the elder statesman among the characters who give it character. The Chicago Cubs this weekend celebrated their 150th anniversary as a National League member. They've spent 110 of those years at Wrigley, where the corner just beyond left field remains old-school, a small throwback in the middle of ever-expanding change.
The Cubs have bought up many of the nearby buildings. The rooftops are a little less organically charming and a lot more expensive. Trendy bars and restaurants have moved in all over. Even Wrigley's iconic marquee comes with a corporate sponsor, and has for more than a decade.
The corner, though, remains the corner. Lawn chairs. Lifers. Good banter, some of which is even suitable for children. The most prominent ad there is handwritten, for the Gatorade that Dave Davison sells out of a cooler: $3 for Cubs fans and $4 for Cards fans, with the $5 for White Sox fans crossed out and replaced with "stay thirsty."

Olivia Rodrigo wore a micro minidress from Nōl Collective to the Daisy Chain Fields press presentation. With this look, she proved once again that romantic silhouettes never go out of style. The singer stepped out in a flared design adorned with floral embroidery, turning a simple silhouette into a memorable fashion moment. The outfit perfectly balanced elegance with a flirtatious attitude.
Olivia Rodrigo attended the Daisy Chain Fields Press Presentation in a stunning micro minidress from Nōl Collective. The event took place in Santa Monica, California, on August 28. The "deja vu" hitmaker wore a soft pink dress that truly made heads turn. Featuring a sleeveless design, the dress fell well above her knees, creating a daring hemline. The dress was cut high on the thighs, giving it a sharper edge and an elongating effect while also making the straight silhouette feel playful. Instead of relying on a dramatic shape, the dress let the short hemline and delicate floral details do all the work.
The dress also featured intricate floral embroidery that lent it a romantic quality. The decorative motifs added a playful touch while also giving the dress a vintage-inspired feel. The fitted bodice was another element that enhanced its elegant appeal. While the straight silhouette gave it a refined touch, the asymmetrical shoulder introduced an unconventional element.
A ruffled accent at the shoulder added texture to the dress. Rodrigo paired the pink minidress with burgundy platform heels and kept her makeup understated, wearing flushed cheeks, defined eyes, and a soft pink lip. She wore her straight hair down, completing the look with a simple hairstyle. Photos from the appearance were shared on X by JumpTrailers.

All eyes were on Buffalo Bills second-year cornerback Maxwell Hairston during the team's preseason finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hairston started at cornerback Thursday night, and there's been plenty of attention paid to his missed tackle in the open field early in action.
To that end, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic shared that head coach Joe Brady gave a very definitive and public vote of confidence in Hairston, stating to reporters that "(h)e's our starting corner" when asked if there's a competition at CB2. That competition query of of course refers to the presence of rookie cornerback Davison Igbinosun.
The question now for One Bills Drive is whether or not they write Hairston's name in pencil or permanent marker. That's something Hairston will have to influence in his second season, and likely hold off any incursion by Igbinosun.
After putting a difficult rookie year behind him that saw his first season bookended by significant injuries, it appeared as though Hairston was setting up to take off in year two. Well, at least that seemed like the plan for as long as Sean McDermott was the head coach.
The trouble for Hairston may have been that McDermott's future at One Bills Drive perished the same night of Buffalo's playoff loss to the Denver Broncos last January. Though that could appear short-sighted when considering that the main person responsible for selecting him in the first round was still in house — Brandon Beane — and received a promotion to include president of football operations within his executive **** le as general manager.

The fallout from owner Jed York's arrest continues to hang over the San Francisco 49ers, but NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco doesn't believe it will cost the York family the franchise.
York was charged with two misdemeanors — disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools — after responding to an undercover ad on what was described as a known prostitution website. He received a two-day jail sentence and a $1,150 fine. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed at the league's preseason owners' meeting that the incident is being reviewed under the personal conduct policy. York did not attend the meeting, a decision that wasn't surprising given how recent the arrest was.
Speaking on KNBR, Maiocco addressed the inevitable speculation about a forced sale directly, pointing to how deliberately the York family structured its ownership just two years ago.
"I can't see that. Jed bought equity from his mom in order to become the principal owner. Yes, the 49ers raised a lot of money by selling off around 9.7% of the organization, but when they transferred ownership officially over to Jed as the principal owner, the idea was this was a move made to ensure that it remained in the family," Maiocco said. "I would imagine the long-term plan is for Jed to hand it over to one of his sons or keep it in the family. I don't think this [arrest] will impact that. I think that there will be some discipline by commissioner Roger Goodell. I think it can happen sooner rather than later because the legal process has run its course. I would expect a fine and even a suspension, where he has to stay away from the team for a certain amount of time."
York became the 49ers' principal owner in March 2024, purchasing additional equity from his family specifically to formalize what had effectively been his role since taking over as CEO in 2010. At the time, York did frame the move as a long-term succession plan, saying it was "reflective of how we've operated" and intended to keep the team "in our family for generations to come." His mother, Denise DeBartolo York, and father, Dr. John York, remained co-chairs.

PHOENIX (AP) — A polygamous sect leader already serving a 50-year federal sentence for orchestrating ***** involving children was given another 24 years in prison Tuesday on separate state convictions for child abuse for hauling girls in an unventilated trailer in Arizona.
Samuel Bateman, 50, was convicted of three child abuse counts stemming from an August 2022 traffic stop in Flagstaff that led to the discovery of three girls, ages 11 to 14, in the trailer. It had a makeshift toilet, sofa and camping chairs and lacked air conditioning and seat belts. Someone tipped off authorities about the trailer after seeing small fingers reaching through gaps in the doors.
Bateman's small group was an offshoot of the polygamous sect once led by Warren Jeffs. Bateman is currently serving 50 years in federal prison for coercing girls as young as 9 to submit to ***** acts with him and other adults and for scheming to kidnap girls from protective custody — the story of which is the focus of the Netflix series, "Trust Me: The False Prophet."
Citing an "insane danger" to the girls in the trailer, among other factors, Judge Joshua Steinlage ordered Bateman to serve the state sentence after completing the 50-year federal sentence.
"I love these dear people with all my heart, and I had no intention in the entire world to harm them," said Bateman, who represented himself in the case and didn't make a plea for leniency during his sentencing hearing.

Michael Saylor says Bitcoin passes what he calls the Bernard Arnault test, a rule he uses to decide whether an **** et deserves serious money.
The Strategy executive chairman posted the argument on Monday in a short video clip on X, urging followers to think like a billionaire before committing capital.
Bernard Arnault chairs LVMH Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, the luxury group behind Louis Vuitton, Sephora and Tiffany & Co. The company owns 75 fashion and cosmetics labels. Forbes ranks Arnault 11th in the world with $142.3 billion.
Saylor borrows the name as shorthand for buyers at the very top of the wealth ladder. His test turns on a single question about future demand.
"Bitcoin passes the Bernard Arnault test. The Bernard Arnault test is this: I have a lot of money, what should I invest it in? I should buy something that someone richer than me, smarter than me, and more cultured than me will want to buy from me in ten years," Saylor said.

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian residents of war-battered Gaza fled homes and businesses as Israeli strikes and tank fire killed at least four people Monday, including two children, hospital officials said, a week after a U.S. delegation asked Israel to draw down attacks.
After evacuation warnings by Israel's military, a strike hit a building in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. One family was unable to flee and a 4-year-old child was killed, according to Awda Hospital, where he was taken. His mother and sister were wounded. There was no Israeli military comment.
Israeli strikes hit three other buildings across the territory after residents said they received evacuation warnings. Some people sprinted away, with mothers carrying children, while others moved amid the rubble in wheelchairs or with canes.
Smoke rose over the already devastated landscape.
Israel's military said it carried out strikes in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City and in Deir al-Balah after issuing warnings, targeting what it described as two Hamas weapons storage facilities inside mosques. The military did not provide evidence but said the facilities contained dozens of "Kalashnikov rifles, magazines and additional military equipment."

Kate Middleton unveiled her latest hairstyle during the royal family's summer stay at Balmoral. The Princess of Wales rocked her new look as she joined Prince William for Sunday service at Crathie Kirk. For the unversed, it is the royal family's go-to parish church near their private Scottish retreat.
Kate Middleton recently turned heads at Balmoral, debuting her lightest hairstyle.
Photographed on August 23, the Princess of Wales traveled to Crathie Kirk in a Range Rover with Prince William at the wheel and their children in the back. The Waleses joined fellow royals for the Sunday service amid their ongoing summer break at Balmoral, the family's longtime late-summer haven in the Scottish Highlands.
As reported by InStyle, Middleton's outfit was mostly out of sight, but her radiant, sun-kissed complexion and blonder locks were unmistakable. Her ensemble included a white blouse with a high neckline, a tweed blazer, a dark hat, and statement gold earrings.
The Wales family has been at Balmoral since August 20, including Prince William, Princess Catherine, and their children – Prince George, 13; Princess Charlotte, 11; and Prince Louis, 8. Their arrival came one day after reports emerged on August 19 that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, would be returning to the U.K. soon for an undisclosed period.

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (AP) — A lip-licking alligator, a smiling moose and a hat-wearing bear are among the many cartoon animals to have found themselves in the crosshairs of Buc-ee's, the popular Texas convenience store chain that has a penchant for protecting its buck-toothed beaver.
But now Buc-ee's has set off a Buckeye backlash across Ohio and beyond after taking on a beaver in the city of Beavercreek.
It's yet another Buc-ee's Ltd. trademark infringement lawsuit. Supporters of Beaver's Mini Mart have attacked Buc-ee's online and boycotted the stores, and the mini mart's home city passed a resolution making the beaver an official part of its history. British comedian John Oliver has even weighed in on the kerfuffle.
On an episode of "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver," the comedian detailed Buc-ee's aggressive history of trademark lawsuits targeting various woodland creatures and launched a website hawking merchandise bearing a knockoff "Buc-off" logo and a squirrel mascot named Mr. Nutterbutter. On X, #boycottbucees trended.
Buc-ee's sued Beaver's Mini Mart in late July, four months after the chain known for its extensive food offerings and massive restrooms opened its first Ohio store less than a half-hour's drive away.

When it comes to Zooey Deschanel, a few things instantly come to mind. Deadpan comedy and the cult classic "(500) Days of Summer" are some key ones, but today, we're talking about Deschanel's signature hairstyle: her bangs. Some celebrities are all about switching their hairstyles with every new era and role, while others tend to stick to what works best for them — and Deschanel certainly falls in the latter camp. Over the more than two decades she's worked in the entertainment industry, she's almost exclusively rocked bangs, whether they were bulky bangs, straight-across ones, a wispy '90s fringe, or boho bottleneck bangs. Basically, she's sported some variety, but she's stayed in the same realm.
Will this theme continue through her wedding day? Deschanel and reality television star Jonathan Scott — best known as half of HGTV's "Property Brothers" — announced their engagement in August of 2023, and we can't help but wonder if Deschanel will rock bangs for the event. After all, she's known for them, but bangs are notoriously hard to manage. Well, it appears that Deschanel is up for the challenge, as she told People when asked about her wedding 'do, "Always bangs. Always."

Zooey Deschanel wearing bangs to her wedding falls directly in line with previous interviews she's done. "You could say that I'm hooked on bangs. Would I ever give them up? I have, and I might again — for a role, perhaps — but I really don't feel like myself without them," Deschanel told Glamour back in 2013. "When I first got into acting, I was a bit of a chameleon ... So I used my look to help create an identity. Now people know me as the girl with bangs." And over the past decade, not much has changed. She's remained a poster child for bangs, and we mean that as a sincere compliment.

So I used my look to help create an identity. Now people know me as the girl with bangs." And over the past decade, not much has changed. She's remained a poster child for bangs, and we mean that as a sincere compliment.

Hormuz traffic remains near a standstill as Trump's 'Economic D-Day' campaign pushes Brent closer to $100.
Friday, August 21, 2026
Transits through the Strait of Hormuz have been in single digits the entire week, with Trump's announcement of an 'Economic D-Day' campaign against Iran increasing geopolitical risk premia in the markets. With ICE Brent at $94 per barrel, Asian LNG prices at $24 per MMBtu and VLCC freight rates at exorbitant levels, this week's gradual upward creeping momentum towards $100-per-barrel oil should continue over the remaining days of August.
Trump Turns the Iran War Economic. US President Trump threatened sweeping penalties and 'tremendous consequences' against countries trading with Iran, putting China and its imports of Iranian oil in the crosshairs as the White House announced the start of 'economic warfare' against Tehran.
Iraq Targets 10 Million—If OPEC and Export Routes Allow. Despite current production restrictions that see output around 2.9 million b/d, the new Iraqi government claimed it plans to reach output of 8–10 million b/d within 6 years, seeking a larger OPEC quota and developing alternative export corridors.
