I thought it was a promising game from Levi Onwuzurike, Tyler Lacy, and although his chances were limited to the very end of the game, Eric O'Neill looked disruptive again. And starter DJ Wonnum kicked things off with a solid performance, including a sack.

Russell's strong Zandvoort weekend continued later on in the afternoon,beating a frustrated Antonelli to P2 by 0.03s behind pole sitter Lando Norris.
Asked on whether the Dutch GP could represent a turning point in his championship hopes - having suffered a string of bad luck with DNFs and power unit struggles for much of the season's first half - a measured Russell replied: "I'm just going to take it race by race. I'm not going to come away from this weekend and say all issues are resolved.
"I do think I made some big changes going into the Barcelona weekend, and as I said earlier this morning, I had some good races, Barcelona and Austria. Then Silverstone and Spa, we had the PU issue, and Budapest was just not a competitive weekend on my side. So, I think it just hasn't been a clean run this season. On August 13, Karyopharm Therapeutics (NASDAQ:KPTI) held its second-quarter earnings call, and the story split cleanly in two. The company laid out a myelofibrosis combination therapy with data strong enough to earn an accelerated approval pathway from the FDA, alongside a cash position that funds operations only into September. A $15.8 million loan payment lands September 10, and management admitted that paying it without new financing could trip a liquidity covenant and trigger default. Investors are being asked to weigh a genuinely differentiated drug against a genuinely short clock.
The bull case rests on selinexor paired with ruxolitinib, which Karyopharm plans to submit for FDA review this month under the Accelerated Approval Pathway for myelofibrosis. The Phase III SENTRY study found statistically significant, rapid, deep, and sustained spleen volume reductions, along with a preliminary overall survival signal and hints of disease modification. At week 24, the combination nearly doubled the spleen response rate versus ruxolitinib alone, with responses showing up as early as week 12 and holding through week 36 across patient subgroups. Even when ruxolitinib was dosed below 15 milligrams a day, the combination produced SVR35 rates as high as 50%, compared with zero for ruxolitinib alone, suggesting doctors could trim ruxolitinib without losing efficacy.
The overall survival hazard ratio at the time of the topline ******* ysis was 0.43. If cleared, this would be the first approved combination therapy in frontline myelofibrosis, a disease affecting roughly 20,000 people in the US with about 4,000 newly treated each year and no combination option on the market. Karyopharm pegs the peak US revenue opportunity at up to $1 billion and plans to lean on the commercial infrastructure it already runs for XPOVIO, including its KaryForward patient support program, to move quickly if approved. On the existing business, XPOVIO generated $30.8 million in U.S. net product revenue in the quarter, with demand holding roughly flat from a year earlier even as the treatment landscape gets more crowded.
The financial picture is where the caution belongs. Total revenue fell to $33.4 million from $37.9 million a year earlier, largely because Menarini's reimbursement of development costs ended in late 2025, a roughly $6.5 million swing. Net loss widened to $67 million from $37.3 million, and while some of that reflects non-cash mark-to-market adjustments tied to the company's financing structure, the cash balance tells its own story: $65.4 million in cash, equivalents, and investments at quarter end. Management said that funds current plans only through September 2026. A $15.8 million term loan payment is due September 10, and if it goes out without additional financing or a lender waiver, cash would fall below the $10 million minimum liquidity covenant, an event of default.

When Andrew Rappleyea was deciding whether to stay at Penn State or transfer after last season, he received a message from new Nittany Lions offensive line coach Ryan Clanton.
"Coach Clanton sent me a picture of one of our formations," Rappleyea recalled. "It was 14 personnel (one running back and four tight ends). He said, 'We need you here.' It was pretty funny. They use tight ends a lot. They produce them. They have good ones."
The Nittany Lions have several of them this season, giving them a deep group and perhaps the strongest position on the team.
Ben Brahmer, Gabe Burkle and Cooper Alexander transferred from Iowa State to join Matt Campbell, their coach with the Cyclones. Rappleyea, Finn Furmanek and Brian Kortovich remained at Penn State.

This is Hernandez's first fight since he was stopped by Sean Strickland. Had that not happened, Hernandez would have likely fought for the ****** le. Rodrigues is on a three fight winning streak and just KO'd Brunno Ferreira. Both these guys have lots of wins and finishes in the division. But it also feels like they'll need more than a win in Sacramento to get back into the 185 lbs. ****** le picture.
It's not the co-main, but the second most interesting fight on the card is Reinier de Ridder vs. Roman Dolidze, also in the Middleweight division. Both these guys are miles away from ****** le contention, but they are well-known names at least. De Ridder is coming off losses to Caio Borralho and Brendan Allen. Dolidze is coming off a loss to our headliner, Hernandez.
Rounding out the main card tonight is Serghei Spivac vs. Vitor Petrino, MarQuel Mederos vs. Mason Jones, Carli Judice vs. Jeisla Chaves and Anthony Wint vs. Terrance Chatman. Jones already had a Fight of the Year candidate, against Axel Sola, earlier this year. Judice and Chaves might also put on a fun brawl. Wint is a super prospect, and former NFL player, who has been fed a total newcomer.

When the green flag waves at New Hampshire on Sunday, every car will run the same 301 laps on the same track, chasing the same checkered flag. But with only two races left before the Chase begins, what counts as a good Sunday has a different meaning for every driver.
Start near the back of the Chase picture, where the margin for error is thinnest. Shane van Gisbergen currently holds the 16th and final Chase spot with a 50-point cushion over Ryan Preece. For SVG, Sunday is about keeping Preece from making a significant dent in that advantage. For Preece, it's about closing the gap enough to give himself a realistic shot at taking that final Chase spot when the regular season ends at Daytona.
Move up the standings and the picture changes. Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell have already clinched their Chase spots and enter New Hampshire tied at 695 points. Getting in isn't the problem anymore. Now it's about improving where they'll start when the points reset.

Piastri dropped to fifth following Antonelli's move, while Max Verstappen held sixth ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The field made it through the opening lap without any incidents, with Russell remaining in control at the front.

Everton begin the 2026/27 Premier League season at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday, and David Moyes already has problems to solve. Some are familiar, some are self-inflicted, and one or two are simply down to injuries.
The biggest issues are in midfield, at right-back, and up front. That is where the team selection gets interesting. Everton have added bodies this summer, but opening day rarely waits for a squad to feel complete.
At the Hill ******* inson Stadium, Moyes is likely to trust what he has, even if what he has still looks short in a couple of areas.
James Garner, Christian Norgaard and Tim Iroegbunam are all out, which strips Everton of depth and balance in the middle of the pitch. Add Idrissa Gana Gueye's summer departure and the picture is obvious, Moyes is light in one of the most important parts of the side.
That opens the door for Harrison Armstrong. He has reportedly done enough in pre-season to earn serious consideration and, right now, Everton need legs, discipline and composure more than reputation.

Aug. 21—PULLMAN — Washington State sophomore placekicker Jack Stevens' brother, Drew Stevens, did not exactly rush to inform his family about an exciting career development.
Instead, the parents of the newly named starting kicker for the NFL's Washington Commanders found out on social media, Jack Stevens said.
"I opened the family chat like two days ago and it was blowing up after practice, and (there were) 24 pictures (sent)," Jack Stevens said. "My dad sent posts that he saw on Twitter. It was crazy."
The Cougar kicker's older brother, Drew, just wrapped up a standout career at Iowa, where in four years he set the Hawkeyes' records for field goals made (76), the most 50-plus-yard field goals (12) and the longest field goal (58 yards). His 352 points are the second most in school history.
As an undrafted rookie, Drew Stevens edged veteran Jake Moody for the Commanders' kicking job on Tuesday.

A pair of Washington Huskies icons made their way back to Montlake this week, as Jermaine Kearse and Myles Gaskin stopped by fall camp to check out the 2026 edition of Jedd Fisch's program.
Kearse spent Tuesday morning at his old stomping grounds, looking on at the current generation of Husky pass catchers. The Lakewood, Washington native played his college ball for his hometown team from 2008-2011, where he finished his career No. 2 in program history in career receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
Following his illustrious college career, Kearse signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent, where he played for five of his seven years in the NFL and helped bring his hometown team its first Super Bowl in franchise history.
From playing his high school ball 45 minutes south of Seattle, to becoming one of the greatest receivers to don the purple and gold, to bringing home a Super Bowl to his home state, Kearse is regarded as a local legend in the Seattle community, and rightfully so.
The following day, running back Myles Gaskin paid a visit to fall camp. The Huskies' all-time leading rusher posed for a picture with Jedd Fisch following Wednesday's practice. In his four years in Seattle, Gaskin put himself in the conversation as the greatest Husky running back of all time, rushing for over 1,000 yards in all four seasons while helping Washington make the College Football Playoff in 2016.

For decades, Natalie Portman has been one of our most cerebral stars. A 1999 Vanity Fair cover, promoting "The Phantom Menace," asked whether the then-17-year-old might "choose Harvard over Hollywood." She managed to do both, earning an Ivy League degree and an Oscar. Her characters in movies from "Jackie" to "May December" are often overthinkers, and her Instagram book club picks tend toward high literature.

Who better, then, to serve as the heroine of a Rachel Cusk novel?

Cusk, the experimental novelist, is set to publish "Life of M," about an unnamed actress coping with feelings of alienation and depersonalization, on Aug. 25. Cusk's work, like the well-loved "Outline" trilogy, favors deep excavation of inner turmoil over what might be called "plot," and "Life of M" is no exception. Still, the obvious similarities to the known facts of Portman's life have earned the book plenty of buzz.

To wit: M, a former child star who received her greatest acclaim for playing a ballerina, is raising children, seemingly solo, in Paris. All of this checks out, and Portman's putative connection to Cusk — she selected Cusk's last novel, 2024's "Parade," for Natalie's Book Club, and both actress and author live in Paris — lends the enterprise a juicy overlay of gossip.

There's no public information indicating Portman's involvement in the project, or whether she approved it at all. (Portman's rep and the book's publicist at Farrar, Straus and Giroux did not respond to requests for comment.) And if people are reading "Life of M" as a document of truth, it may be in part because the novel so confidently places its reader within restricted access zones. We see M through the eyes of a narrator, an unnamed person who has obtained M's permission to document her life. And so we accompany M to a spa, where she and a younger actress chitchat about their peers and discuss Hollywood's gender pay gap, and to an interview at a chic restaurant, where she observes strangers snapping her picture. The access Cusk grants extends deep into M's mind as well: With her friend, M ponders how she might help a new generation of actresses despite her own "ennui" about the industry; with the journalist interviewing her, M is burdened "by the impossibility of anyone ever understanding what she is."

The project of this book is to help us to know a person who rejects examination, just as journalists have struggled to crack Portman, who avoids discussing her personal life in interviews. "Life of M" is not the sort of novel that one can "spoil," but suffice it to say that M ultimately makes her displeasure at the narrator's project plain: Being under a writer's gaze is, for her, intolerable. M comes by this aversion to fame honestly. We're informed that "starring in a film as a child had immediately brought her childhood to an end," and that press coverage of her entanglements as an adult have strained her relationship with her family. Natasha Perry, daughter of the "Fuller House" star and former NHL All-Star forward, Valeri Bure, announced that she was expecting a baby with her husband, Bradley Steven Perry, in May 2026. To celebrate the arrival of their newborn, the Bure family and friends held a shower for Natasha on August 16, 2026 that looked as fun and joyful as could be. Perhaps best of all was the grandma-to-be Candace Cameron Bure, who stunned in a yellow, brown, and red striped dress.

Cameron Bure's look was a delightful contrast to the dreamy pastel tones surrounding her pregnant daughter. While Natasha looked like a goddess in her off-the-shoulder gown, the "Fuller House" star looked modern and playful wearing an asymmetrical neckline and white platform mules. The stylish outfit was further complemented by her cosmopolitan bob and gold, statement earrings. It was all the proof we need that grandmother style doesn't have to be frumpy.
Even more special was how well the looks perfectly complemented each other. Once upon a time, Cameron Bure and her daughter, Natasha, twinned in inappropriate wedding guest dresses, causing a huge stir. But at the baby shower, things were completely different. Instead, she and her daughter struck the perfect balance on such a sweet and sentimental day.

Last weekend, Pierce Brosnan, 73, and his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, 62, went sightseeing in Sydney, having just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Their relationship has proven to be one of Hollywood's most enduring and life-affirming love stories.
They met in 1994 when she was a journalist, two and a half years after Pierce lost his first wife, Cassandra Harris, to ovarian cancer (tragically, Cassandra's daughter Charlotte, who he adopted, died from the same disease). Pierce and Keely married in 2001 at the historic Ballintubber Abbey in Ireland and have been inseparable ever since.

Going back two seasons, Liverpool had one of the best squads in Europe. On paper, a lot of talent remains. Yet even accepting many players individually and collectively under-performed last season, the squad today looks well short of what Liverpool fans expected it to be at this stage.
Lacking depth and wildly imbalanced in places, with the season kicking off against Newcastle on Sunday and work still to be done in the transfer market, there's plenty of concern and consternation amongst the fanbase. New head coach Andoni Iraola, though, says that signings are coming.
"We will definitely sign some players," Iraola told Sky ahead of the opening round of the Premier League season. "Some deals you have to wait until the end, but the end is the important part of the picture, the one we will have on September first, because it is true that we are still quite thin."
In the past, Liverpool managers have tended not to explicitly say signings are coming, tending to stick to more vague promises about the club always looking for opportunities to improve and similar. The question then is if a shift in how potential transfers get discussed is just how Iraola communicates.
Alternately, it could be an acceptance of the trust gap that has begun to grow between fanbase and club watching so many of the gains of the Klopp era seeming to have been taken apart—at times almost consciously so—since Michael Edwards returned and named Richard Hughes sporting director.
