Sophie Cunningham sparked a debate about trans athletes in women's sports. It's been a hot topic in WNBA discourse for the past week, and now Stephen A. Smith has something to say.
The WNBA has recently become a bit of a battleground for a culture war issue. The Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham caused a stir when she spoke against trans athletes being allowed in women's sports.
This led to a cascading reaction. While many people agreed with Cunningham, many voiced their disagreement. Minnesota coach Cheryl Reeve was prominent among the detractors.
As the controversy has raged on, more big names from around the sport have given their takes. And now Stephen A. Smith has gotten involved, calling Reeve out in the process.
