Puerto Rico is getting ready for one of the biggest nights in Miss Universe history, and now fans are getting their first look at the stage where the next queen will be crowned. The Miss Universe Organization has revealed the stage for the 75th anniversary competition, set for November 24, 2026, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.
And this isn't being designed as your typical pageant stage. Costco is expanding its same-day delivery network as it looks to grow e-commerce sales and compete with retailers like Walmart and Target.
The retailer this week launched collaborations with DoorDash (NASDAQ: DASH) and Uber (NYSE: UBER) to pick up online orders at U.S. stores and drive them to the customer's door. The arrangements give Costco more channels to reach customers through ultra-fast delivery, made possible by gig drivers who use the platforms to select ******* ignments.
DoorDash, best known for delivering restaurant food, announced that Costco (NASDAQ: COST) members can now order groceries, dry goods, household essentials and other products from its marketplace and then arrange fast delivery from their local store, all through the DoorDash app. The U.S. launch extends the existing relationship between the companies in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland and Puerto Rico.

Estes Express Lines is investing nearly $56 million to expand its cross-border and offshore freight network, including terminals, equipment and capacity serving Canada, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Alex Peebles, senior director of offshore and international at Estes, said the privately held, family-owned carrier is taking a longer view of the freight market rather than allowing current conditions to dictate its investment strategy.
"We're really looking at all of these investments from a long-term horizon and viewpoint perspective and one that's going to help accommodate growth and capacity into all the offshore international markets that we service," Peebles told FreightWaves.

Coca-Cola announced plans Tuesday to invest $10 billion in U.S. infrastructure between 2026 and 2030, covering new and expanded production, distribution and office facilities across the country.
That $10 billion commitment is calculated across the full Coca-Cola system — meaning it rolls in spending by bottling partners and is not limited to the parent company's own capital budget, according to Reuters. In July, the company forecast its own capital expenditure at approximately $2.2 billion for the fiscal year. Projects covered by the broader $10 billion commitment include previously announced work in Rancho Cucamonga, California; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Indianapolis, Indiana; Birmingham, Alabama; Coopersville, Michigan; St. Cloud, Minnesota; Orlando, Florida; and Webster, New York, the company said.
The announcement accompanied an independently commissioned study measuring the Coca-Cola system's 2025 economic contributions in the United States. The study found the system contributed $85 billion to U.S. gross domestic product — roughly $10 million in economic activity per hour — and supported nearly 1 million jobs, the company said. Rounding out the economic picture, the system directed roughly $37 billion toward American suppliers and channeled $177 million into community initiatives via The Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
"This ****** sment reinforces what we see every day: the Coca-Cola system is deeply rooted in America and continues to deliver meaningful value for the people and communities we serve," John Murphy, president and chief financial officer of The Coca-Cola Company, said in a statement.

An Amazon cargo plane crashed just outside Miami International Airport after it overran the runway while landing, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The plane was arriving from Puerto Rico. Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel clarified that it was an Amazon flight operated by 21 Air and the company is working to support everyone affected. Well, Team USA had tons of trouble with Italy.
Less than six months ago, Team USA defeated Italy by 34 points in the World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico. On Sunday in Berlin, Germany, Team USA squeaked out a three-point win, 55-52.
On paper, the Italians may not have had any advantages over the United States. The resumes and statistics that convey the Americans' superiority, however, failed to account for the firey and feisty motivation that the Italians brought to the matchup.
Team USA was going through the motions. Italy played with emotion.
As indicated by the final score, it was an ugly affair.

Former Notre Dame star Sonia Citron is headed to Berlin.
USA Basketball announced on Monday that the second-year player has been added to the Women's National Team roster for the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup. The United States are pursuing their fifth consecutive gold medal when the tournament begins on Friday, Sept. 4.
Citron, who plays for the Washington Mystics, will be joined by Kiki Iriafen to replace two-time World Cup gold medalists A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum. The two stars had to back out due to health reasons, which in turn provides Citron her first opportunity to play for the U.S. senior national team on the sport's largest stage.
Citron participated with the USA Women's National training camp in December 2025 so she has been on the radar for a while. An injury prevented her from playing in the World Cup qualifying event in Puerto Rico, but it appears Monday she has finally made her breakthrough to the senior team.
The 6-foot-1 guard was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and was named an all-star in her first season in the league. Through 37 games this season, she is averaging 16.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.3 ***** ists from the field.

While everyone is gearing up for the Ohio State football season, and rightly so with the Buckeyes checking in as the preseason No. 1 team in both the preseason US LBM Coaches and **** ociated Press polls, the OSU basketball team is still putting in some work in the offseason to begin its season this winter.
One of the things some college basketball teams do these days is to take an overseas trip for added scrimmage and practice time, and for Jake Diebller's crew, they decided to get on an airplane and visit Puerto Rico to take in some sunshine, enjoy all the island has to offer, and, of course, get in some time playing as a unit against competition other than themselves.
We didn't really get to see much from the trip, but thanks to the Ohio State basketball creative team, we can get a little peek of the action in a short two-minute and 40-second video recap. From taking in the food and culture, hosting a kids' camp for island residents, to sailing on the ocean, to some scrimmage highlights with plenty of dunks, we think the video is well worth the little bit of your time to watch.
The national media has had a hard time figuring out what this Ohio State basketball team will be in the 2026-27 season, but some are calling the Buckeyes a dark horse. Heliot Ramos has been a source of frustration for New York Yankees fans since his trade-deadline acquisition. Ramos has gone hitless in his last 23 at-bats and has totaled just two hits in 31 plate appearances as a Yankee. Hundreds of thousands of people in Puerto Rico's capital and surrounding communities woke up without running water as a massive rationing measure took effect Friday. It comes amid a severe drought on top of shortages due to infrastructure issues on the island.
"It's brutal," San Juan resident Gloriany Baba told CBS News in Spanish. "It's unbelievable to live through this today."
Residents were seen filling up jugs and buckets with water ahead of the rationing, which affects more than 180,000 customer accounts — meaning households and businesses — in San Juan and six other municipalities. Customers were divided into two groups that will alternate not having water for at least 48 hours at a time.
Government officials have not said when the rationing will end and have warned the outages could be extended to 72 hours at a time.
In San Juan, July was the driest month in more than 120 years and the second hottest on record. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, about 36% of Puerto Rico is facing a severe drought, and another 32% is in a moderate drought.

Father Gerard Paul, who hails from Grenada, can no longer officiate masses, funerals, weddings or baptisms after repeatedly criticizing the church and clergy. But that hasn't stopped him from preaching via the lilting rhythms of calypso, an Afro-Caribbean music genre known for its witty lyrics and satirical social commentary.

The 64-year-old priest made his debut this year at Spicemas, Grenada's biggest soca and calypso carnival. Like many annual carnivals across the Caribbean, it celebrates rebellion against enslavement. Paul sang his way into the finals and is scheduled to compete as "Father Paul" against 10 other singers this weekend, including "Killa B" and "Sour Serpent."
Paul joined the seminary 40 years ago and has been a priest for 32 years: "I was always concerned about the plight of the masses, so I saw the church as a vehicle for societal change."
