Rodgers refuted Patrick's account of their breakup and said Patrick had presented a version of their relationship that made him look like a "monster of a partner."
Rodgers said Patrick was struggling emotionally during their relationship, especially after she retired from full-time racing in 2018.
"I dated Danica. She had just retired. She was depressed and not fun to be around," Rodgers said.

Actress and liberal activist Jane Fonda had some surprisingly positive things to say about Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison despite her complete opposition to a merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Fonda took questions this week at the DVF Awards charity gala held during the Venice Film Festival, and she said she likes Ellison "very much," which makes her vocal opposition to his $111 billion merger a bit awkward.
"It's sad for me because I like David Ellison very much," Fonda said, according to Variety.
The 88-year-old actress noted Ellison's Skydance financed her Netflix series Grace and Frankie which ended in 2022.
"David's Skydance financed Grace and Frankie, my seven-year-long run for Netflix, and I got to know him, and I like him. But that doesn't change things. This is not a personal thing. This is what it will do to the entertainment industry, which is already suffering terribly," Fonda said.

Brian Austin Green is opening up about a frightening health crisis that changed nearly every part of his daily life. The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum says he once struggled to walk, speak, read and write. Green described the symptoms as neurological and "stroke-like."
During the Aug. 26 episode of Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson, Green revisited the health struggle he experienced more than a decade ago. "I ended up with this neurological thing, and it was, like, stroke-like symptoms," Green said.
The actor explained that the illness began when he was around 39 or 40. According to Green, the symptoms became so severe that he had to relearn basic skills. "I had to learn how to walk again, to talk again," he said. Green added that he could not read or write during the worst period.
The Beverly Hills 90210 star told Robinson that his brain and body felt completely disconnected. He estimated that his recovery took roughly four and a half years.
Green said doctors never reached a complete diagnosis for the neurological symptoms. However, he believes internal inflammation played a role. He also discussed diet and emotional stress as possible contributing factors.

Norway's Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Mette-Marit marked their silver wedding anniversary by posing for a new photograph, published on Tuesday, in the grounds of their home at Skaugum estate.

On Tuesday morning, the couple arrived at the Oslo hospital where King Harald V is currently being treated, apparently to visit the 89-year-old monarch, who is Haakon's father.

The post-judgment discovery marks another major development in the ongoing legal battle between Cosby and plaintiff Donna Motsinger. According to newly filed court documents, her attorneys are casting a wide net to determine which ******* ets could be used to satisfy the multimillion-dollar judgment.
RadarOnline reported that Motsinger's legal team served extensive post-judgment interrogatories seeking information about nearly every aspect of Cosby's financial life. The requests reportedly cover checking and brokerage accounts, cash holdings, private equity investments, business interests, real estate, automobiles, aircraft, jewelry, artwork, collectibles, retirement accounts, insurance policies, cryptocurrency, safe deposit boxes, and storage units.
The filing also seeks information about income-producing ******* ets, including royalties, licensing payments, residuals, copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property. According to the report, Motsinger's attorneys are attempting to identify every possible source of revenue that could help satisfy the judgment entered against Cosby in March.
The outlet reported that the requests extend beyond Cosby's personal finances. Attorneys are also seeking information about his wife, Camille Cosby, including ******* ets held in her name, jointly owned property, trusts, financial accounts, income sources, and any marital agreements that could affect ownership of ******* ets.
