After holding a lighter practice on Tuesday, the New England Patriots are expected to ramp back up the intensity for Day 4 of training camp on Tuesday.
The defense got the better of the offense during the last competitive team period, and quarterback Drake Maye threw his first interception of training camp on an intended pass to star wide receiver A.J. Brown. Safety Craig Woodson, who has continued to show significant growth as an NFL defensive back, came up with the takeaway.
All eyes will be on Maye and the offense to see how they bounce back against the stingy Patriots defense. Can the third-year quarterback finally get things clicking with Brown on the field? Will some of the other new faces, like wideout Romeo Doubs and tight end Eli Raridon make more of an impact?

LIV Golf's season-ending team championship officially remains on the schedule for Aug. 27-30, but amid the league's major funding crisis, that might not remain in the case for long.
There has been no infrastructure buildout at The Cardinal at Saint John's Resort as of Wednesday night, with a Detroit News reporter spotting no hospitality suites on the 18th hole, no stage for the post-round concerts and championship celebration, no player walking bridge across the signature pond, no visible signage — no nothing to suggest a significant golf tournament will be played here five weeks from Thursday.
Buildout for golf tournaments of this magnitude typically takes multiple months.
Meanwhile, earlier Wednesday, a LIV Golf player, two-time major champion Martin Kaymer, cast serious doubt on the likelihood that the championship in Michigan will take place.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Chase Meidroth went 4 for 4 while he and Andrew Benintendi had a pair of run-scoring singles apiece, Anthony Kay pushed through five innings for his first win in more than a month, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 4-2 on Wednesday night.
Braden Montgomery scored all three times he reached base. Meidroth's fourth career four-hit game helped the White Sox move out of a tie with Cleveland atop the American League Central as the Guardians lost to Minnesota 10-6.
Texas rookie Cam Cauley hit his first major league homer as the Rangers dropped back to .500 but stayed in first place in the AL West by a half-game over Seattle with the defending division champion Mariners' second consecutive loss to Cincinnati.
Kay (7-4) allowed five hits and two runs to end a six-start winless streak. The left-hander hit his majors-leading 19th batter to put Cauley on and load the bases with no outs in the fourth. Elias Díaz’s double-play grounder brought home Brandon Nimmo, and Kay preserved a 3-2 lead by striking out Alejandro Osuna.
Four Chicago relievers finished with four hitless innings. Bryan Hudson had two strikeouts in a 1-2-3 ninth for his fourth save.

Major League Soccer says it is investigating allegations of tampering by Inter Miami after the club signed Brazil midfielder Casemiro.
On Wednesday, Miami announced they had signed the 34-year-old - who left Manchester United at the end of last season - on a deal that runs to the end of the 2027 MLS campaign, with an option to extend until June 2029.
But moments later, the MLS released a statement saying it was "reviewing a tampering allegation" against the club.
"The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete," it added.
"While Inter Miami CF and the LA Galaxy have reached a settlement for the discovery priority [first rights] to sign Casemiro, the terms will be released upon conclusion of the tampering investigation."

Former Lady Vols basketball player Zee Spearman was arrested for a DUI in Lawrenceville, Georgia, during the summer before her senior season, according to a police report obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
The 6-foot-4 forward played in all 30 of Tennessee's games last season and was not publicly suspended after the incident. Tennessee did not immediately respond to a request for comment. If she was disciplined by Lady Vols head coach Kim Caldwell, it was not made public. According to USA TODAY Sports, Caldwell was aware of Spearman’s arrest when it occurred.
Unlike Spearman, a pair of two arrests in less than three months before the of start of the season, led to the dismissal of Lady Vols guard Ruby Whitehorn was acknowledged by UT.
Whitehorn was arrested on Aug. 8 in Knox County after a domestic dispute. Whitehorn faced two felony charges, but eventually pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors. Whitehorn was reinstated to the team after serving a lengthy suspension, but was later dismissed on Nov. 2 after she was charged with simple possession on Oct. 30.
Spearman was pulled over by a Gwinnett County officer at 1:10 a.m. on June 13, 2025 due to the visible speed of her Chevrolet Malibu. Spearman was driving an estimated 100 mph, according to the report, and she told the officer she was going 75 mph when she last looked. The speed limit on the highway was 55 mph.

Real Madrid's pre-season preparations are gathering pace, with Jose Mourinho set to get a significant opportunity to **** s his squad before the club begins its schedule of summer friendlies.
According to journalist Arancha Rodriguez, Madrid will face Leganes in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Valdebebas on Tuesday, July 28.
The match will not be open to the general public or the media, but it will form an important part of Mourinho's preparations ahead of the new campaign.
The fixture comes just over two weeks after Real Madrid began pre-season training on July 13, with players returning in phases following their involvement at the FIFA World Cup.

Schlotterbeck suffered an ankle injury at the World Cup playing for Germany, and managing director Lars Ricken said as the squad gathered for pre-season training on Tuesday that more patience is required.
"It will take a few more weeks. We have to say that honestly. Whether that will be before or after the first international break, we'll see how the healing progresses," Ricken told reporters.
The first international break of the new season is at the end of September.
Dortmund were a distant second behind Bayern Munich last term but their points tally of 73 was the best since 2019 as coach Niko Kovač has steadied the ship after a difficult 2024-25 campaign in which they came fourth.

The future of Verdigris football won't be under the Friday night lights just yet.
Instead, it will begin this week with dozens of young athletes taking their first steps onto the field.
The Verdigris football program will host its annual Future Cardinal Football Camp on Thursday and Friday, July 16-17, giving boys entering first through sixth grades an opportunity to learn the game from Cardinal coaches and players.
The two-day camp will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. each day at the Verdigris High School football field.
Designed for players of all experience levels, the camp will focus on teaching football fundamentals while emphasizing skill development, teamwork and fun.
