The Cleveland Browns are set to kick off their 2026 regular season Sunday afternoon when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road. The team announced on Friday that they would be starting two rookies on their offensive line, ruling out Teven Jenkins and announcing that third-round pick Austin Barber would get the start at right guard.
Cleveland is also calling up two players from its practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game, elevating linebacker Nathaniel Watson and cornerback D'Angelo Ross. ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi reports that both elevations are special teams-related, which makes sense, as both have clear skill sets to contribute in that area of the game.
It will be interesting to see who ends up on the inactive list after these elevations; we know at least one of them is already Tevin Jenkins. Todd Monken talked about having all three quarterbacks active to use a package for rookie Taylen Green, which will be something to watch as kickoff gets closer.

Michigan improved to 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, beating Oklahoma 17-10.
Here are key takeaways from Michigan's win.
Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood was just 9-of-17 passing for 111 yards and was marginally better throwing the ball than he was in Week 1. However, he did some great things on the ground, including a 38-yard rushing touchdown to put Michigan up 7-0. In all, Underwood had 87 yards on the ground and the score. Underwood will have to improve passing. While Michigan should continue to lean on what he does best (running), that approach is bound to be stopped on a given week; the defense will give up more than 10 points, and Underwood's arm will decide if Michigan loses. Today was a step in the right direction; he didn't throw an interception despite a couple near picks. Even so, Michigan has a lot of tough games coming up this season (Penn State, Indiana, Oregon, Ohio State) and improvement is necessary through the air.
Michigan had 11 penalties for 90 yards, and many of these extended drives for Oklahoma. Jyaire Hill had a late hit, Dom Nichols ripped John Mateer's helmet off, Shamari Earls had a facemask penalty. Eliminating penalties was a point of emphasis heading into this game, but the team failed to follow the message that head coach Kyle Whittingham had. Michigan's lucky that all the yellow flags didn't cost them the game — because they nearly did.
Michigan held Oklahoma to just 289 yards and 3-of-13 on third down. Defensive end John Henry Daley (eight tackles, one sack) was an absolute force and disrupted Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer's timing, as was defensive end Dom Nichols (0.5 sacks). Linebackers such as Troy Bowles (nine tackles) and Nathaniel Staehling (seven tackles) played well, and safety Chris Bracy (six tackles) delivered hard hits throughout the game. It was a cohesive effort (besides the penalties).

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride will play with a refined passion in 2026. With the 2025 season in his rearview mirror and the Los Angeles Chargers ahead, McBride is hoping that his passion and premier pass-catching can spark the beginning of a new chapter for the franchise.
The Chargers lost defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who moved on to a head coaching position with the Baltimore Ravens. Still, Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. is on the roster and his skillset poses a significant opposition for McBride. Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur still has plans on making McBride the focus of the team offense and it'll come down to pure will to determine whether or not McBride can muscle up.
The Cardinals seem to have a competent offensive personnel group at the skills positions but time will tell how their offensive line fares in 2026. Play-action and the quick passing game are both strategies where LaFleur and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett are likely to call on McBride's jersey number. McBride is quick and physical, plus his route running makes him a mismatch for most opposing linebackers and safeties.
Ultimately, if the Cardinals are to stand a chance on Sunday, they will rely on their passing attack to propel the offense and that'll mean that McBride must be exceptionally magnificent. The Chargers allowed just 19.8 points per game in 2025, but without the mastermind of Minter, McBride might locate a few breaches that can be exploited.

The Cleveland Guardians are continuing to battle for a playoff spot. They are only two games behind the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central division, while Cleveland also holds the third and final AL Wild Card spot at the moment. One of their better power hitters, Rhys Hoskins, is currently on the injured list, however. The Guardians have some uncertainty and would benefit from his return, but will the slugger be available for the postseason?
According to MLB.com, Hoskins is expected to return "potentially" in September. He's been dealing with lower back inflammation but is reportedly participating in baseball activities and the Guardians are hoping to have him available for the playoffs.
Hoskins, 33, was hitting just .179 with a .682 OPS before landing on the IL. He hit 13 home runs, which is one of the higher marks on the Guardians. In fact, the only Guardians with more long ***** this season are Jo Adell, Nathaniel Lowe, Chase DeLauter and Angel Martinez.

The Baltimore Orioles (70-75) and the Cleveland Guardians (73-72) continue their three-game series tonight at Camden Yards. The Orioles opened the series last night with a 6-4 win to snap a six-game losing streak and pull them to within three games in the race with Cleveland for the final Wild Card spot.
Baltimore grabbed control early. Dylan Beavers delivered an RBI double in the second inning to score Samuel Basallo, giving the Orioles a 1-0 lead. In the third, the O's advantage increased to 4-0 thanks to a Coby Mayo solo homer followed by control issues for Cleveland's hurlers as evidenced by the fact they walked in a couple runs prior to the end of the inning. Mayo added a two-run blast in the sixth, extending the Orioles' lead to 6-1. On the mound, Trevor Rogers was excellent, working 7.1 innings, allowing just one earned run, six hits, and striking out six without a walk. The Guardians made things interesting in the ninth when Nathaniel Lowe blasted a three-run homer, but Baltimore closer Jordan Walker recorded the final out to preserve the win and arguably, Baltimore's season.
Tanner Bibee (5-15, 4.06 ERA) takes the ball for the Guardians tonight. His last outing came against the Blue Jays on September 3. As he has for much of the season, Bibee struggled, lasting only four innings while allowing five earned runs on four hits. Over his last five starts, Bibee has posted a 5.08 ERA. Brandon Young (9-3, 3.42 ERA) is expected to be on the mound for the O's. Young's most recent appearance came against Boston on September 3, when he worked 6.2 innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits. Over his last five outings Young owns a 3.37 ERA.

Vincent Kompany and Bayern Munich have received a major injury boost ahead of their opening UEFA Champions League game against Bodø/Glimt on Thursday. Serge Gnabry, who hasn't played since last season's Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid in April, returned to full team training on Monday, according to Bild.
Eager to make up for lost time following his adductor tear, it's quite possible that Gnabry could return to the squad as early as Thursday, which could have consequences for summer signing Ismael Saibari. The duo will compete for the No.10 spot behind Harry Kane, a position that has also been occupied by fellow summer arrival Nathaniel Brown, in the absence of Jamal Musiala.
Kompany, therefore, has plenty of options to keep things interesting. Notably, following Bayern's 0-0 draw against Bundesliga returnees Schalke 04, Didi Hamann criticised Saibari's performance. "Saibari is a wonderful footballer," he told Sky90. "But he's too slow. He's not fast at all, he's like a poor Kane.

Former UFC contender Tony Ferguson returns to the boxing ring Sept. 26 on the undercard of Henry Cejudo vs. "Deen The Great."
Ferguson will take on former professional soccer player Kenzo Biyong in a five-round boxing match for Misfits Boxing at James L. Knight Center in Miami.
Ferguson, 42, is 2-0 under the Misfits banner with one pro win and one exhibition win. He hasn't competed in striking competition since December when he beat Warren Spencer by unanimous decision. Prior to that, he defeated Nathaniel Bustamante, also known as "Salt Papi," by third-round TKO stoppage.
Since those boxing bouts, Ferguson took a wrestling match for RAF, which he lost to Arman Tsarukyan by technical fall.
Biyong, 28, has dabbled in combat sports before, though this will be his first outing involving striking. In April, he competed at UFC BJJ 7 and was quickly submitted by Raphael Ferreira.

When the Bundesliga schedule was first confirmed and it became clear Schalke 04 would host Bayern Munich on jut the second Bundesliga matchday, the expectation was that Die Königsblauen would be swept aside rather convincingly. After all, the team's last meeting, three years ago, ended 6-0 to Bayern. That was under Thomas Tuchel's inconsistent Bayern. What could Kompany & Co do?
Stutter to a 0-0 draw, that is what. A dour Bayern team struggled to get out of second gear and really punish a defensively solid Schalke, who celebrate their first point since their return to the Bundesliga. Here are some observations on the match:
It is easy to forget after the match, but the first 15 minutes completely belonged to Bayern. The Bavarians' counterpress utterly suffocated the hosts, who simply could not exit their own half in those minutes. The team pinged the ball around, kept it well and utterly annihilated any counter attacks.
But, in what would become an unfortunate running theme throughout the match, the passing was far too slow and the players seemed unsure of their positions. One of Bayern's most important strengths is their ability to move the ball quickly from side to side. Players know their positions, know how to move the ball on and ping it back and forth. This forces the opposition defense to move side to side, which opens up **** e in the middle and opportunities to score.
This was missing today. It was clear that the chemistry among forwards Nathaniel Brown, Ismael Saibari and Lennart Karl was missing, but regulars such as Konrad Laimer, Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano also struggled to really get into the flow of things. It was possible to overcome these issues (Nathaniel Brown, after all, would still have given Bayern the lead if it had not been for a phenomenal save by Loris Karius in the Schalke goal) and perhaps the players would have grown into the match more.

Salahdine Parnasse vs. Dan Hooker is our main event, going down in the Lightweight division. Parnasse is a long-time former KSW champion who made a big splash with his one and done appearance at MVP MMA. The reason he was done there was because UFC wanted to poach him out of that fledgling promotion before he drew too many serious mixed martial arts (MMA) fans over to it. Hooker comes into this one off two losses and looking very much like a sacrificial lamb. However, as last week taught us, -600 odds can be overcome.
The co-main is an all French affair, in the Featherweight division, with Fares Ziam meeting Axel Sola. Both of these guys are action fighters known for putting on a show. They should get the crowd roaring in Paris, even if it's not obvious to the locals whom they should be cheering for.
Rounding out the main card is Michael Page vs. Nursulton Ruziboev, Daniil Donchenko vs. Punahele Soriano, Kurtis Campbell vs. Trevor Peek and Losene Keita vs. Muhammad Naimov. Page might be trying to fight out of his UFC contract here, which is the reason UFC has pared him with a big, rangy striker who can also make you quit on the ground.
The featured "Prelim" is Morgan Charriere vs. Felipe Lima. The undercard also boasts Mario Pinto vs. Ryan Spann, Oumar Sy vs. Modestas Bukauskas and Nathaniel Wood against late replacement Pavel Andrusca. Further down the card we have Michael Aljarouj vs. Fabia Sintes, Nora Cornolle vs. Klaudia Sygula, Matthieu Duclos vs. Lucas Felipe Dias and Delphine Benouaich vs. Sofia Montenegro to make up the numbers. Aljarouj does look like an intriguing prospect, though.

A day after the 53-man roster cutdowns, the Cleveland Browns roster is already changing from the initial 53 that we were given yesterday evening. The team made one waiver claim, one I'm personally a fan of, claiming corner Toriano Pride Jr. from the Buffalo Bills. In a corresponding move, the team waived defensive end Julian Okwara to make room for Pride.
Pride was a seventh-round pick for the Bills this year who was competing for a nickel corner spot but does have the flexibility to play outside and provides a ton of upside and much-needed depth at the position. Pride is undersized at 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, but he is a great athlete with track speed, running a 4.32 40-yard dash.
In addition to adding Pride and waiving Okwara, the Browns added the following ten players to their practice squad on Monday: CB Myles Bryant, DE Logan Fano, OT KT Leveston, P Wes Pahl, CB D'Angelo Ross, DT Tyreak Sapp, DE Khordae Sydnor, S Zion Washington, LB Nathaniel Watson, and WR Kole Wilson.

"The Last Kingsman" has a new opponent in "The City of Light."
The Ultimate Fighter Season 32 winner and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight prospect Mairon Santos was scheduled to face No. 8-ranked Nathaniel Wood at UFC Paris this weekend (Sat., Sept. 5, 2026) inside Accor Arena in Paris, France.
Unfortunately, Santos has withdrawn from the matchup and has been replaced by undefeated UFC newcomer Pavel Andrusca on less than one week's notice.
Andrusca, 24, is a perfect 8-0 as a professional and enters his Octagon debut riding a seven-fight finishing streak. The Moldovan knockout artist owns an 88 percent career finish rate, including six knockouts and five first-round stoppages.

Three years after the 2023 NFL draft, CBS Sports has re-graded each team's draft class. And it's not looking so good for the Denver Broncos.
The 2023 NFL draft was the only one performed by former coach Nathaniel Hackett, and the first by current Broncos general manager George Paton. Denver's 2023 draft was a little light, after the team traded its first-round pick and a second-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for quarterback Russell Wilson.
"(The Broncos) had five picks in the draft and all five are still with the team," Pete Prisco of CBS Sports wrote. "The best pick was corner Riley Moss in the third. They also got receiver Marvin Mims in the second, trading up to take him. If only they hadn't made the trade for Wilson." Prisco originally gave the team a B- for their haul.
Although all five players from the draft are still with Denver, some of their careers have gone off in very different directions.
Of the lot, Mims, Moss and center Alex Forsyth have had the most success for the Broncos. Drew Sanders has been limited due to injury, and JL Skinner is a constant special teams player. Prisco gave the Broncos a C now, after looking back at the class.

Jean Silva will now take on a rising contender instead at UFC Fight Night 288.
Silva (17-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) was originally scheduled to headline Noche UFC against former interim featherweight champion Yair Rodriguez, but an injury forced Rodriguez out of the bout. After suffering his first octagon loss to two-time **** le challenger Diego Lopes, Silva rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Arnold Allen at UFC 324.
Dana White's Contender Series graduate Delgado (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) has won nine of his past 10 fights. Nathaniel Wood put an end to his win streak, but the 28-year-old rebounded with back-to-back wins over Andre Fili, and Austin Bashi.

A very businesslike win for the Guardians tonight as they beat the Angels 5-2.
The Guardians scored early to give Parker Messick a small lead to work with, which has been rare of late for Cleveland's best pitcher and Cy Young/Rookie of the Year candidate.
Nathaniel "Knows What to Do With RISP" Lowe got a sacrifice fly in the third after a Kwan walk, Jose single and Jo Adell walk. Rocchio had flied out sharply to begin the inning and Angel Genao was putting up an excellent AB when Adell was caught in a rundown that ended with Jose getting tagged out at third.
Messick's only troublesome inning was the fourth where a single from Zach Neto and single from Mike Trout allowed a Moises Ballesteros single to drive in the Angels' only run to tie the game at 1. I am so impressed with how Messick never gets frustrated. He finds his center and gets himself out of trouble over and over.
Another Guardians newcomer got a hit with RISP when Adell got an RBI hit in the fifth to make it 2-1 Guardians.

Ryan Jeffers has an excellent matchup and park factors to hit a home run tonight.
Samuel Basallo and Nathaniel Lowe didn't hit home runs on Friday. Sadly, that means the MLB best home run props have fallen to a 20-79 record, with three no-bets.
The home run bets have spent nearly the entire year in the black. After getting both picks wrong on Friday, profits disappeared. Anyone who has bet $100 on each of the suggested home run props has lost $50.
It's a disappointing outcome for spending all season grinding the data. Nevertheless, it's part of the betting game. Home run props are also long-shot wagers, and most won't cash. That said, getting just a few right can generate sizable profits, and there's time to right the ship and generate a profit on the home run bets for the 2026 MLB season.
Turning things around can start tonight with two teammates in a drool-inducing matchup and a homer-friendly ballpark. Their home run props are admittedly chalky, but they offer enough value to bet when factoring in their numbers and the conditions tonight.

After a starring role with France at the World Cup, Olise was Bayern's most dangerous attacker, regularly tearing down the right flank.

Back in the spring, Michigan football head coach Kyle Whittingham said his biggest concerns were the inexperience at the linebacker position and the depth at cornerback. Well, more than halfway into fall camp, it appears that both problems are in the process of being solved.
On Thursday, Wolverines defensive coordinator Jay Hill said that if there's one position group that's improved the most, it's probably linebacker, and behind that, he's feeling like he's starting to see solid depth develop at cornerback behind the four usual suspects who are starting caliber.
"Well, probably linebacker," Hill said. "There's, like I say, there's really five or six guys that I feel comfortable playing in games. I'd like to see some of those guys just completely cement themselves as the starter, but that's a good problem that we have right now. That and then the battles at that fifth, sixth, seventh corner and safety spots, those guys need to really -- someone needs to step up out of those groups and solidify themselves in those roles, five, six, seven at those, in the DB spots."
So why has the linebacker position managed to improve so greatly? Hill says he just sees steady development in the unit, and feels like they probably have up to six players (likely Nathaniel Staehling, Chase Taylor, Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, Troy Bowles, Max Alford, and Aisea Moa) who are playing at a high level in fall camp.
"I think we're getting better every day," Hill said. "That comes from knowledge of the scheme, the culture, the run of the football, the hitting, the tackling. I just think we're getting better every day. You ask about the linebacker group, I think that group continues to solidify themselves every day. Walt Weiss ran out to rescue Mauricio, getting ejected in the process. But was this the result of a Carlos Torres poor game in Houston two years ago?
Two years ago, Carlos Torres covered first base for a game between the Rangers and Astros. In the top of the sixth, Torres calls Wyatt Lanford out on a double play. This call would be overturned.
Two batters later, Nathaniel Lowe is called safe by Torres while trying to beat out a ground ball. This call would be overturned.
Carlos Torres was still not done. In the bottom of the ninth, Mauricio beats out a chopper to shortstop for a base hit. Torres calls him out.

One of the most enjoyable aspects during this time of the year is the sky high expectations from fanbases. Every player is healthy (for the most part), every club is undefeated, and every league race is wide open. Except the Bundesliga, of course, where Bayern Munich reigns supreme. CLEVELAND — It can be difficult to predict how small stretches during a regular season can unfold. The Guardians are fighting against that tide as they enter the stretch run to the playoffs.
The Guardians pulled off an aggressive trade deadline, highlighted by deals for outfielder Jo Adell, first baseman Nathaniel Lowe, All-Star starting pitcher Foster Griffin and reliever Craig Yoho. It was well received by the fan base and set the stage for an energetic, positive August.
That hasn't come to fruition just yet. As the Guardians welcomed several key additions that fit well onto the roster on paper, they came out of the deadline winning only three of their next 11 games. Despite the aggressive improvements, Cleveland has lost ground in the American League Central race, entering their Aug. 16 game against the San Diego Padres five games behind the Chicago White Sox.
Thanks to a poor American League in 2026, the Guardians entered Aug. 16 at 60-64, but still only one game out of the sixth and final wild card spot. They're in the thick of the AL playoff race, but a 3-8 record wasn't what they had in mind after adding Adell, Lowe, Griffin and Yoho (along with, technically, catcher Patrick Bailey earlier this season).
"I think the way we look, we still have an opportunity in front of us, and we have to play better baseball," Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said. "We have not played well over the last few weeks, and I think everybody believes we're capable of more."

The Steelers have made a raft of changes to their receiving corps in recent campaigns, trimming the fat while adding a pair of Pro Bowl-caliber pass-catchers in DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr.
Both are expected to feature prominently in Nathaniel Hackett's new-look attack. Metcalf and Pittman weren't quite able to hitting new heights during their 2025 seasons. And yet, Pittsburgh still is putting its faith in the 28-year-old wideouts to anchor its attack alongside Aaron Rodgers.
Pittman inked a two-year, $35 million accord with the Steelers in the offseason. Metcalf preceded him by signing a four-year, $132 million deal a year before. Both need time to cement their partnership with Rodgers, who toiled at times in his age-42 season. They haven't gotten many opportunities to do so thus far, with both Pittman and Metcalf missing practices after sustaining apparent injuries.

Bayern Munich clinched another preseason trophy (we know, we know) as it secured a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig to capture the prestigious Telekom Cup.

Vincent Kompany went with a mixed bag of a lineup, but was mostly comprised of returnees, but did also include newcomer Nathaniel Brown and youngster Tim Binder. Binder is a real live wire, but definitely needs some refining.
Binder's fearlessness is a great thing, but he does have to find a way to properly balance when to take his chances. He is surely a player with some potential, who could be another hidden gem from Bayern Munich's academy. If he can be a little more sure on the ball and keep that attacking mindset, he could be a real player to watch develop.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Joey Cantillo and three relievers combined on a one-hitter and José Ramírez had an RBI in one of his best games since undergoing hand surgery, leading the Cleveland Guardians to a 6-1 win over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.
Cleveland became the third AL franchise to reach 10,000 victories, joining the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
Cantillo (9-7) went six innings and cooled off the Padres, who had won six straight and 16 of 20 since July 24. The left-hander allowed only a single in the first inning on a ball that hopped over first baseman Nathaniel Lowe.
Colin Holderman, Hunter Gaddis and Erik Sabrowski finished up.
Cleveland hasn't had a no-hitter since 1981 — the longest current drought in the majors.
