Left back Nathaniel Brown has said he wants to continu8e to impress and Bayern Munich like at previous club Eintracht Frankfurt and in the German national team.
"I want to show what I can do. I know what I can do and what I can't," Brown said at his presentation on Wednesday at Bayern's pre-season training camp in the Bavarian town of Rottach-Egern.
"The coach has already shown me what I do well. I've spoken with him a lot. I want to play as many games as possible, help the team, and ultimately win ***** les."
Brown will compete with Alphonso Davies for the left back position. The Canada captain has been plagued by injuries, but Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said they are not really considering selling him.
Brown made a big impression in Frankfurt which brought him into the national team, where he was among very few German players to do well at the World Cup where the team went out in the last 32.

Bayern Munich are hoping the arrival of Nathaniel Brown will motivate Alphonso Davies to return to his best form, according to Sport1.
A club source told the outlet: "Thankfully, the competition for places here is brutal."
The Bayern hierarchy reportedly expects Davies to respond positively to the increased competition and consistently improve his performances, provided he can stay injury-free.
Although the Bundesliga champions would be prepared to listen to exceptional offers for the Canadian this summer, Sport1 reports that a departure currently appears unlikely.
Instead, Bayern expect Davies to remain at the club and use the added competition from Brown as an opportunity to prove his critics wrong with consistent displays throughout the season.

It's a whole new world when rookies enter the NFL, no matter the level they played in college.
Coaches know part of the teaching process is to get rookies able to contribute as quickly as possible, while also understanding there can be anxious moments wondering how practice work will translate to games when everything is on the line.
Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett said last week that "when you first get the rookies, you know the rookies don't know what's going on."
Asked to expound on that and explain what that entails, he said, "Everything. Everything you can imagine. Coming to this league, just the speed is so different. Being in a new building a lot of the guys -- well I guess nowadays they might be in different rooms and different facilities because of all the transfers and stuff -- but most of the time they've been in one place for a while and now it's a whole new environment. New people to work with and definitely new playbooks that are very, very intricate due to all the things that we see."
Breaking it down to going against the defense in practice, Hackett said, "You get almost everything and more, which is great because it helps you for the season. But for a young player to have to be able to adjust and learn the basic system and then apply it to different defenses, it takes some time.

Jose Delgado is ready to test himself against higher-ranked opposition.
Delgado (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) thinks it's time to get a bigger name following his latest win. The MMA Lab product beat fellow featherweight prospect Austin Bashi (14-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) with a unanimous decision this past Saturday on the UFC Fight Night 281 preliminary card in Oklahoma City. The win gave Delgado a two-fight winning streak after a decision loss to veteran Nathaniel Wood.
"I've always rated Nathaniel Wood very highly," Delgado told MMA Junkie. "I think he's a guy who hasn't gotten the opportunities to move up the ranking, but I think skill for skill he deserves to be up there. So skill for skill, I'm ready to compete with them all. I like the idea of a Steve Garcia or an Aaron Pico, I like the idea of that type of range of fights, and I think that's pretty realistic to what I can get, so I'm looking forward to those opportunities in the future. Yeah, somebody in those ranges would be sick."
Being a Mexican-American and living and fighting out of Arizona, many think a return at this year's Noche UFC would be perfect for Delgado. Noche UFC takes place Sept. 12 at the Diamond Desert Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
Delgado would love to participate on that card, and wouldn't say no if a name of interest came up, but he admits the timeline is looking tough.

BOSTON, July 21 (Reuters) - A federal judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked President Donald Trump's administration from stripping tens of thousands of asylum seekers and immigrants who have ‌Temporary Protected Status of their ability to work in the United States.
U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton in Boston sided with ‌a coalition of immigrant rights groups and labor unions that sued to block U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services from moving forward with a series of policies designed to implement new immigration-related restrictions enacted by Congress last year.
Gorton's order will be in place until he decides whether to issue a longer-term pause of the Trump administration's policy. The judge said he would rule on that by August 5. USCIS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Alphonso Davies has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, according to Sport Bild.
The report claims that representatives from Saudi Arabian clubs have visited Bayern's Säbener Straße headquarters to explore the conditions for a possible transfer.
Nothing concrete has emerged so far, but Bayern would reportedly be open in principle to selling the left-back – not least because he earns a significant salary of €15–20 million per year.
Whether Davies would be interested in a move to Saudi Arabia, however, is doubtful.
After the Canada captain's injury-plagued 2025/26 season, Bayern have brought in Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt to provide competition at left-back.

During the World Cup, Bayern Munich managed to sign two promising players who performed well at the tournament: Moroccan Swiss army knife Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven and German rising star Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt. The Bavarians managed to sign both for below what their former clubs were asking for, yet Bayern president Herbert Hainer maintained a self-imposed rule regarding potential transfers before they were made official.
“Both are very good players, but I’m sure you’ll understand that I won’t comment on potential transfers,” Hainer said at the time (as captured by X account iMiaSanMia). “We have a very good squad, there’s absolutely no question about that. That’s why, if we do make additions, they will simply be targeted reinforcements, both in attack and in defense.”

One of the biggest concerns facing Michigan football this offseason has been the linebacker room. At this time last year, the Wolverines had at least four players who were expected to contribute, and contribute they did. Ernest Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham started out the season in the middle of the defense, but by the end of the year, Jimmy Rolder and Cole Sullivan were the primary stars there, with Hausmann out for the season and Barham having mostly transitioned to an edge rusher role. Now all four are gone, with Rolder having declared early and having gone to the NFL, Sullivan having transferred to Oklahoma, and the other two out of eligibility, so there are big question marks at linebacker at the moment.
On Wednesday, Wolverines linebackers coach Alex Whittingham spoke with Jon Jansen on the In the Trenches podcast and detailed what he's seen from some of his inherited players. Perhaps the one spoken of most generally is former four-star Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, and Whittingham likes what he's seen from him thus far.
"Nate has done a great job of buying into what we're trying to do," Whittingham said. "And he dealt with some injuries this spring, just got a little minor things got dinged up here and there. But he showed his toughness by playing through it and doing the best that he could to get his body out, his body healthy to get out there and practice for us. And he's getting more physical each and every day."
While Owusu-Boateng may have the name cache, it's his 2025 classmate, former three-star Chase Taylor, who has gotten perhaps the most hype behind the scenes.
There have been rumblings that the staff is ecstatic about what Taylor brings to the table and that he may be the one who has the star power, ultimately. And what Whittingham said about him certainly won't dissuade anyone from that opinion.

Bayern Munich's Deniz Ofli celebrated multiple milestones in the 2025/26 season. First the left back became captain of the U-19s, then he was promoted to the U-23s in the winter, made his unofficial debut for the senior team in a friendly against RB Salzburg, before making his official Bundesliga and Champions League debuts as well under head coach Vincent Kompany.
Having developed as much as he could in Bayern's academy, though, and his path to the first team blocked by imminent new arrival Nathaniel Brown, Ofli will need to take the next steps in his career elsewhere. Germany is preparing to play their first World Cup knockout fixture in 12 years, taking on Paraguay in the Round of 32 on Monday at Boston Stadium.
The Germans progressed as winners of Group E, although their form dipped just before the knockout phase. Julian Nagelsmann’s side began their campaign in emphatic style with a crushing 7-1 win over Curaçao, followed by a solid 2-1 victory against the Ivory Coast.
Their final group game raised concerns, as they were unexpectedly beaten 2-1 by Ecuador after showing clear defensive weaknesses. Despite possessing one of the most dangerous attacking units in the tournament, Germany will need more consistency from their key players to regain control and balance.
Centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to a serious ankle injury, meaning Nagelsmann will depend on the experienced pairing of Antonio Rüdiger and Jonathan Tah.
There is also uncertainty surrounding left-back Nathaniel Brown, who missed the Ecuador game with an adductor injury and remains doubtful.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — X-rays were inconclusive on Eugenio Suárez's left hand after he was hit by a pitch and forced to leave the Cincinnati Reds' 9-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.
Manager Terry Francona said Suárez will have a CT scan on Monday after traveling with the team to Milwaukee for the start of a four-game series against the Brewers.
“Right now, it’s very swollen. So, the X-ray doesn’t say anything because it’s too swollen,” Suárez said. “We’ll see what is in there. Right now, obviously, I feel a lot better than when I got hit. I thought he hit me really good. Was painful, but right now, I feel a lot better. So, I pray to God for nothing to come up.”
Suárez was hit by a 92.4 mph fastball from Mitch Keller with two outs in the sixth inning. The designated hitter was checked by Francona before slowly making his way to first base. Nathaniel Lowe came in for Suárez's next at bat in the eighth.
“It swelled up really rapidly,” Francona said. “The trainers' hope was that maybe it hit a blood vessel. ... He's very tender. So, we'll get more information tomorrow.”

Recent rumors linking Bayern Munich to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha appear to be wide of the mark. The German record champions are reportedly happy with the current group and Nmecha would be too expensive anyway, according to a report from Sport1 journalist Stefan ****** berger, as captured by iMiaSanMia:
Bayern believe they’re well-equipped in the central midfield area. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović are still planned as the starting double pivot next season. Tom Bischof will be used more often as a backup in the position. In addition, Noël Aséko has ‘influential supporters’ within the club who want him to be a squad player and get appearances as another midfield backup. Bayern want to continue with the strategy of having a small squad, which allows young players to get their chance and prove themselves. The recent links to Felix Nmecha are questionable. The German international is not for sale unless a nine-figure offer were to come in, which is beyond Bayern’s reach. In addition, BVB’s management would prefer to sell abroad [StefanKumberger, SPORT1]
This is good — Bayern probably should not be trying to add positions to spend this summer when it is already investing significant resources in transfers in attack and defense. Moreover, the attacker, Ismael Saibari, is slated to play centrally when Bayern also has a short-term need for reinforcements at wing. And the defender, left-back Nathaniel Brown, will provide cover and competition for Alphonso Davies at left-back while the Bavarians mull their next big center-back signing, which is probably also due next summer at the latest.
Nmecha is having himself a great World Cup and that is going to raise his stock. If there is not a huge need right now, why not see how things shake out with the younger players? Bischof’s future is extremely bright and Aséko might just serve the club better by being the next showcase of academy-to-first team success than by finding a move elsewhere. There is too little clarity right now on what type of midfielder Bayern would need to add to this mix, so if a player already on the roster can do the job — why not? Then hit the market, if necessary, once the need crystallizes.

The Eintracht Frankfurt player completed an individual session in Winston-Salem due to minor groin complaints.

Germany's FIFA World Cup group stage match against Ivory Coast was a hard fought match, but after the West Africans opened the scoring midway through the first half, a goal from substitute Deniz Undav brought the Germans back level. Fighting for the lead in the match, both sides were willing to give no ground.
So when Ivory Coast player Wilfrie Singo went down after attempting to dribble down the touchline, Germany's Nathaniel Brown chose to attempt to continue with the match rather than leave it off the field. This led to loud protests from Ivory Coast, who believe Germany should have quietly agreed to stop play and Germany, who wanted to keep playing and attack the goal with Singo on the ground. Opposition head coaches Julian Nagelsmann and Emerse Faé were particularly vocal in their complaints.
After the match, Faé spoke to the media and was asked about a discussion he held with Brown. FIFA's YouTube channel captured Faé explaining that he had told the rumored Bayern Munich transfer target to stay humble after the latter's reaction and insistence on playing on, that he does not need to talk badly about the team and that Faé had wished that the entire German team had shown more fair play.
The match was able to finish without any more controversies, but there was one more big moment as Undav doubled his tally to give Germany the 2-1 victory. Having sealed not just progression to the Round of 32 but also top spot in Group E, Germany will look to ride their current 11 match winning streak to a long overdue run in the tournament.

Côte d'Ivoire coach Emerse Faé believed Germany showed a "lack of fair play" during Saturday's World Cup clash in Toronto, which saw his team lose 1-2.
After Côte d'Ivoire defender Wilfried Singo put the ball out because he was injured, Nathaniel Brown decided to launch a German attack from the throw-in rather than returning the ball to the opposition.
Speaking to reporters after the game (via ESPN), Faé said he was disappointed with the German left-back.
“I told him [Brown] to stay humble. He had a great game, and he doesn't need to talk badly to us because he is losing or at 1-1 because he wants to win,” Faé said.
“We would have liked more fair play from Germany. We would have liked them to give us the ball back when Singo got injured. They are a great football nation, and we take example from them, so I was disappointed by their lack of fair play.”

Germany national team star Joshua Kimmich has praised both Nathaniel Brown and Felix Nmecha ahead of their next Group E game against Côte d'Ivoire.
“Generally he's [Brown] a very quiet guy off the pitch. He's always in a group with ******* an and Pavlo. On the pitch he's very brave and brings his qualities," he said at a press conference.
“He hasn't asked me yet about FC Bayern. But I'm happy that we have him here. He played a great game on Sunday with a goal and an ******* ist,” he added, before moving onto Nmecha.
“I already said before the tournament that he is one of the most talented players we have. He is very fast, robust, and his goal [against Curaçao] was exceptional.
“He also had many other notable moments in the game. He gives us a lot and can also defend well,” the German captain said of the Dortmund midfielder.

Bayern Munich are close to securing the signing of PSV Eindhoven attacker Ismael Saibari.
We have covered previously that the German champions had been negotiating a deal for the Morocco international, and they have reached an agreement.
Bayern have also reached an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for left-back Nathaniel Brown, who scored for Germany in the World Cup clash against Curacao.
We previously reported that Bayern had already agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old versatile winger, but they were haggling with the transfer fee.

Jürgen Klopp has praised Eintracht Frankfurt's Nathaniel Brown highly amid reports suggesting Bayern Munich are closing in on a deal for the Germany left-back for a fee of around €55 million.
"It was already enjoyable watching him last season. If Eintracht Frankfurt do sell this player, I would strongly advise them to get properly paid for him. He's a really good player," the former Liverpool head coach said on MagentaTV.

Few expected Nathaniel “Nene” Brown to even start a game for Germany at the World Cup. After all, fellow left back David Raum has become one of Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann’s leaders in the dressing room and had started most of the 2014 World Cup winner’s fixtures ahead of the 2026 edition. But Brown edged ahead of Raum in the preparation for the tournament and was even confirmed as a starter by Nagelsmann ahead of Germany’s opener against Curaçao.
Therefore, Brown’s family and friends will have settled into the stadium expected to see Brown start. But could they have dreamed to see the Eintracht Frankfurt player score? Because that is exactly what he did, **** isting Germany’s winner on the day to make it 2-1 and executing a beautiful finish with his right foot to score Germany’s 5th goal on the night in an eventual 7-1 romp.

One cannot say for sure that Brown has established himself as Germany’s starting left back moving forward, but his display tonight will have done his chances no harm whatsoever. If Bayern Munich do sign the former 1. FC Nürnberg player, they can look forward to some real displays of skill on the left flank.

Curacao's World Cup debut may have ended in a reality check of a 7-1 hammering by four-time champions Germany on Sunday but it "is nothing to be ashamed of" said their head coach ***** Advocaat.
The 78-year-old, the oldest coach to appear at a World Cup finals, had been out of his seat when a deflected strike from Livano Comenencia levelled the match at 1-1.
However, Nico Schlotterbeck, Kai Havertz with a double, Jamal Musiala, Nathaniel Brown and Deniz Undav scored to put to bed any possibility of one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history.
"It is not embarrassing to lose like that against such a team," said Advocaat at the post match press conference in Houston.
"This team (Germany) is worth 850 million and Curacao, 25."

Despite being pegged back after Felix Nmecha’s early opener, Julian Nagelsmann’s side quickly regained control and eventually overwhelmed their opponents. Goals from Nico Schlotterbeck, Kai Havertz (2), Jamal Musiala, Nathaniel Brown and Deniz Undav completed a dominant display as Germany flexed their attacking quality.
As expected, Germany started on the front foot, monopolising possession and pinning Curaçao deep inside their own half. Their early pressure paid off after just six minutes when Nmecha exchanged a neat one-two with Florian Wirtz on the edge of the box before curling a superb effort beyond the unsighted Eloy Room to give Die Nationalelf a deserved lead.

The subsequent hydration break arrived at an unfortunate moment for the Blue Wave, disrupting their momentum and allowing Germany to regroup. Nagelsmann’s men soon reasserted their authority and eventually restored their lead in the 38th minute.

One thing is already certain: there is no boredom with the DFB team at this World Cup. In the opening match against Curaçao, it was first a dream start through Felix Nmecha, followed by a bitter setback with the equalizer. Germany was still able to calm the nerves with a quick double strike before the break.
After a corner from Nathaniel Brown, Nico Schlotterbeck powered the DFB team back into the lead with a header.
Even before the halftime whistle, the DFB team had more promising chances to score. However, Pavlovic, Brown and Musiala were initially unable to make them count.
With the final action of the first half, the impressive Nmecha was fouled again in the penalty area - penalty. Kai Havertz nudged the ball over the line, and Germany heads into the dressing room with a small cushion.

After reports surfaced claiming that Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, the Germany international was asked about the speculation during a media round on Thursday evening, as reported by Sky Germany.
However, the 22-year-old declined to confirm or deny the reports, saying instead that he wants to concentrate solely on Germany’s World Cup preparations.
“I'm fully focused on the World Cup. That’s why I won’t comment on this today. My focus is only on the World Cup,” Brown said.
According to reports, Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt are currently in talks over the transfer fee, with Brown’s club demanding around €60 million to let him go.
After starting in Sunday’s 4–0 win over Finland, the 22-year-old could be involved again when Germany face the United States on Saturday in their final friendly ahead of the World Cup.
