Toni Fernandez's time at Barcelona could be approaching its conclusion, with Venezia emerging as the club best placed to take the highly rated La Masia attacker to Serie A.
According to SPORT, the Italian side is advancing in their efforts to sign the 18-year-old, with discussions now focused on a deal that would allow Barcelona to receive a transfer fee while retaining a percentage of any future sale.
Toni has known for some time that he was not part of Hansi Flick's plans for the current season, despite completing pre-season with the Barcelona first team.
Furthermore, a return to Barça Atlètic has also been ruled out, leaving the youngster searching for the next step in his development.
Notably, interest has arrived from several countries, including clubs in the Bundesliga, Serie A and Premier League.

Xabi Alonso is at Stamford Bridge. Serie A giants Napoli are making a concerted push to sign Marc Guiu, tabling a €16 million bid for the Chelsea striker, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Guiu has emerged as Napoli's top target to replace Romelu Lukaku, who recently joined Fenerbahce.
While Napoli are offering €16m, Chelsea reportedly value Guiu at closer to €29m. The Blues signed the striker from Barcelona's La Masia in 2024 for €6m, meaning even a deal near Napoli's bid would represent a significant profit.
The 20-year-old was initially loaned to Chelsea last summer, but was recalled early after Liam Delap's injury.
However, Guiu struggled for regular minutes and made just one league start throughout the campaign.

Although the Bundesliga season is about to begin, Borussia Dortmund are still in the hunt for defensive reinforcements. According to Ruhr Nachrichten and numerous other sources, the BVB front office is in negotiations with FC Barcelona for right-back and La Masia graduate Hector Fort. While a deal has not yet been reached, the club is reportedly confident that the transfer will go through soon.
The transfer fee will likely be within the €10-20 million range, with Barcelona willing to go a little lower if Dortmund is willing to add a sell-on clause. While other clubs including Real Sociedad are interested, Fort apparently has a clear preference for Dortmund.
Fort has not had much senior experience. He spent last season on loan at Elche, where he played about 500 minutes, missing most of the season with a shoulder injury. At least he suffered this injury while celebrating a spectacular goal which was apparently voted the La Liga Goal of the Month for December.
While Fort is viewed highly in Barcelona, there is little room in the squad with Eric Garcia, João Cancelo, and at Xavi Espart all ready to play at right-back. With the departure of Yan Couto to Como, BVB desperately need reinforcements at right-back. Hopefully Ole Book can get the move across the line soon.

Earlier today, reports emerged suggesting that Alejandro Balde had decided to leave FC Barcelona before the transfer window closes.
The 22-year-old left-back faces competition for a starting berth now that Joao Cancelo has been re-signed permanently.
Moreover, reports suggest that Barça manager Hansi Flick has some doubts the player as well.
The German's pointed remark at the La Masia graduate during his press conference earlier today seemed to underline the point, which eventually gave way to rumours of a departure.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Balde is not giving up.

Alejandro Balde's future at FC Barcelona has been generating plenty of speculation throughout the summer transfer window.
As already reported, the coaching staff led by manager Hansi Flick had doubts about the 22-year-old. But the player and his representatives insisted that he had no intention of leaving the La Liga champions.
However, with the transfer window approaching its final stretch, the situation has flipped completely as the La Masia graduate has changed their stance.
Indeed, Balde has accepted that a departure is now very much a possibility after the signing of Joao Cancelo earler this week.
As such, Balde has given his agent, Jorge Mendes, the green light to use his contacts and find him a new club during the remaining 10 days of the summer window.

FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick looks to have effectively signed a new midfielder for his team's upcoming 2026/2027 campaign, which kicks off with an away trip to Elche on Sunday night in Spain.
In 2025/2026, where Barca retained the La Liga ****** le, Flick promoted another promising graduate of La Masia's gifted Class of 2007.
Like Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi and Marc Bernal, who were all born in that year and grew up in the academy together, Xavi Espart fulfilled the dream of millions of youngsters worldwide by making his Barcelona debut.
His first outing in blaugrana - or rather the orange away shirt of the era still being used in preseason this year - came towards the end of a 1-1, Champions League last 16 first leg draw at Newcastle United.

It is now official. FC Barcelona goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili will spend the season on loan at UD Almería, who have an option to buy him at the end of the campaign.
Barcelona confirmed the goalkeeper's departure on Thursday, giving Yaakobishvili another opportunity to gain experience in La Liga Hypermotion after spending last season on loan at Andorra.
"FC Barcelona and UD Almería have reached an agreement for the loan of player Aron Yaakobishvili until June 30, 2027. The Andalusian club has an option to buy," the club statement read.

Hansi Flick has called up plenty of youngsters to pre-season training at Barcelona, due to a host of his players returning late from World Cup 2026.
Fermin Lopez has also been part of the sessions after missing the World Cup due to injury which has given him a good chance to get a closer look at some of the latest emerging talents at the club.
The midfielder has now been asked which youngsters have surprised him the most and came up with two names in particular.
"They are all very good. The work done at La Masia is very good," he told Ara.
"If I had to choose two, I would tell you Orian Goren and Ebrima Tunkara. I had practically not seen them play, but they are very good and have a very high level."

Barcelona have confirmed an agreement with Ajax for the transfer of left-back Jofre Torrents. Before the official confirmation, Mundo Deportivo reported that the clubs had agreed the move and were finalising details for an official announcement. Torrents will join former teammate Marc-André ter Stegen in Amsterdam.
FC Barcelona confirmed the agreement on its official channels, thanking the La Masia product for his commitment, professionalism and dedication and wishing him well in the next stage of his career.
Jofre Torrents celebrates during a match for FC Barcelona.
Ajax first explored a loan for Torrents at the end of last season. Barcelona considered the possibility attractive because the defender had already made his first-team debut but faced strong competition in his position, with a move to Míchel's Ajax viewed as a suitable next step in his development.
That initial plan changed, with the clubs instead agreeing a permanent transfer. Barcelona have nevertheless structured the deal to retain an interest in Torrents' future.

In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Manchester City are in talks to land Barcelona youngster Tommy Marques. It has been claimed that the Mancunian club will have to compete with Borussia Dortmund and Braga in the race to sign the Spanish talent in this transfer window.
Marques is a product of Barcelona's La Masia academy and deserves credit for breaking into their first team last season. The 19-year-old featured in two matches for the Catalan club in the previous campaign.
The talented teenager is currently one of the most gifted young central midfielders in La Liga. Hence, Man City would do well to get a deal over the line for him this month.
His current contract at the Catalan club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, the Mancunian giants would have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit him in this transfer window.

Earlier this week, more of the Real Madrid first team returned to Valdebebas ahead of the 2026-27 season starting soon. Among them was Marc Cucurella, who was signed earlier in the summer from Chelsea in a deal worth up to €60m.
Cucurella, who won the 2026 World Cup with Spain earlier in the summer, spoke to the club's official media channels (via Marca) upon partaking in his first Real Madrid training session. He admitted that he's very proud to have joined, and he feels that his career has been building up to this point.
"It's a source of pride. I don't think many people can say they've worn this shirt. We have seen great legends, it is a club with a lot of history, the greatest in Europe. Being here today is a privilege, an honour and above all a reward for all the effort I have had to make in my career. It's been a long time waiting, it's been long, but I'm already here
"Everything is very good. I was already looking forward to meeting my teammates. I have spoken to some who had written to me. The welcome has been very good. A hard, long day, but already getting a feel for it and training little by little because nothing comes from the good things."
Despite coming through the ranks of Barcelona's La Masia academy, Cucurella has many positive memories of Real Madrid, which he opened up on. He's also hoping to make more history in the coming years.

Barcelona have a number of talented La Masia starlets ready to break into the first team who are unlikely to get a chance due to the immense competition for places.
One such youngster who has been part of Hansi Flick's plans for two consecutive pre-seasons is Jofre Torrents.
The 19-year-old defender is competing with Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martin for a first-team spot and is unlikely to get much game time.
Barça are also pushing to sign Cancelo from Al Hilal, with the veteran Portuguese defender keen on securing a return to the club.
Thus, Torrents is unlikely to get much game time if he stays at Barça, and it was revealed that the club were finalising a loan deal with Ajax for the teenager.

La Masia has been constantly producing talents ready for the first team for Barcelona in recent seasons, but that is not their only success story.
There are many other players who come through the famed academy but leave Barça in search of regular game time, going on to succeed at another club.
Among them is Sergi Dominguez. The 21-year-old left the Catalan club last summer in a €1.2 million transfer and enjoyed an impressive first season at Dinamo Zagreb.
One year on, Dominguez has established himself as one of the Croatian league's standout defenders, helping Dinamo win both the league and cup while earning a place in the division's Team of the Season.
Now, the former Barça defender has admitted that his long-term dream remains returning to the club.

FC Barcelona is set to adopt a transfer policy of bitter rival Real Madrid moving forward as explained by Cadena SER, which cited anonymous sources.
Fans of La Liga's two behemoths have plenty to bicker about, and one common topic of disagreement is which has the superior youth academy.
There's no denying that with products such as Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi to name five of many, La Masia does an excellent job of transforming young talent into elite superstars.
On the other hand, La Fabrica is just that. A factory with a non-stop production line where the youngsters that fall off it are sold around Europe for premiums each transfer window.

Barcelona have a very talented midfield filled with La Masia graduates, and one of them with a very high ceiling is Marc Bernal.
The 19-year-old Spaniard was one of Hansi Flick's first bets when he joined as manager of the Catalan club, but an ACL injury prevented him from gaining as much prominence as some others.
The Spaniard made a successful return last season and had a spell where he was one of the team's best midfielders.
With Frenkie de Jong out injured for the foreseeable future, Bernal could get an extended run of games at the start of the new season.
Speaking in an interview with AS, the 19-year-old midfielder made it clear that his long-term future lies at Camp Nou while also discussing his recovery from injury, Barcelona's ambitions and his hopes for the new season.

Barcelona have largely not had to enter the transfer window to sign superstars in recent seasons, due to the immense talent coming through La Masia.
Although the club also had their hands tied by their financial situation, it coincided with one of the best golden generations the academy has produced.
Among the flag-bearers of this golden generation is Marc Bernal. He is increasingly being viewed as one of Barcelona's most important long-term projects.
There is growing belief inside the club that the teenage midfielder can become the natural successor in the holding role that has lacked a permanent owner since Sergio Busquets left.
According to SPORT, Bernal is regarded as Barcelona's version of Rodri, a midfielder capable of controlling games from the base of midfield and becoming the foundation of both Barça and Spain for years to come.

Few players coming through La Masia are regarded as highly as Marc Bernal, and Barcelona's faith in the young midfielder appears to be matched by his commitment to the club.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United explored the possibility of signing Bernal while negotiations involving Marcus Rashford were still active.
