Grail's Galleri blood test aims to detect signals from dozens of cancers before any symptoms appear. That seems like a game changer for the oncology market, but its stock plunged in February after its largest NHS England trial failed to meet its primary endpoint. That trial was considered a crucial stepping stone toward an FDA approval in the U.S. -- which would clear the way for private insurance and Medicare plans to cover its tests.
However, Grail already sells Galleri on a cash-only basis (for $749 to $949) to independent customers, select employers, hospital pilots, and telehealth programs. Its NHS England trial also wasn't a complete failure: Galleri's users in the trial still had fewer Stage IV cancers detected, and it achieved earlier (Stage I and II) detection of the deadliest cancers.
Even without a near-term FDA approval, ******* ysts expect Grail's revenue to grow from $147 million in 2025 to $281 million in 2028. It won't generate a profit anytime soon, and its stock isn't cheap at 17 times this year's sales, but an FDA approval could help it crush those estimates. Therefore, I think it's smarter to buy and hold Grail at under $70 than to hastily sell it.

Kevon Looney, a veteran the Los Angeles Lakers signed this summer, will play a key role for them this coming season. He will likely be their primary backup center behind Walker Kessler, and the team will be counting on him to put in lots of work on the boards, play aggressive defense, set picks and do other types of dirty work.
After a frustrating 2025-26 season with the New Orleans Pelicans, Looney was a free agent this summer, and there were other teams he could've chosen this summer. But he said during an appearance on the "Mason & Ireland Show" on ESPN LA radio that the Lakers were his top choice.
"Being a free agent this year, I didn't know what was going to happen. Lots of moving parts to this offseason with a lot of teams. Once the Lakers made a few moves and they had a need for a center, this was my top destination and I was able to make it happen and I'm super excited."
Looney, who played one season at the University of California, Los Angeles, also said during a recent interview with Mark Medina of Fadeaway World that he couldn't turn down the opportunity to play for the Lakers, especially since he has friends and family in the area.
His offensive numbers dropped last season, but he still produced on the boards. The 30-year-old has a career average of 5.7 rebounds in 17.1 minutes a game, and he won three NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors, which means he can provide some invaluable experience to a Lakers team that has gotten significantly younger.

Well, let's start with the good feelings. There was a sentimental feeling percolating around the Yard well before tonight's game, with a team Hall of Fame induction ceremony that saw former O's slugger Chris Davis, 1983 World Series Champion Storm Davis, and late scout Jim Russo all get their green jackets. Both Storm and Chris were in attendance, along with lots of their former teammates, including, to give short pre-game remarks and stop by the MASN booth to chat about their favorite memories.
It was cool to learn that Storm Davis actually served as a mentor to a young Ben McDonald, then a rookie pitcher, now a MASN ****** yst, but I was especially sentimental about Davis's reminiscences, which covered the especially sweet 2012-16 years, when the O's led the AL in wins. The college basketball landscape was rocked by yet another massive rule change over this weekend. A federal judge from Colorado granted an injunction declaring that high school class of 2022 athletes were eligible for a fifth season of play, retroactively applying the NCAA's new five-year eligibility model to this cohort.
Predictably, many fourth-year players are entering the transfer portal to use their additional year of eligibility, including former St. John's guard Oziyah Sellers. On3 reported on Saturday morning that the California native will return to college basketball for one more season.
A member of last year's star-studded transfer class, Sellers averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 ****** ists on 42.9% shooting and 35.1% from three last season, leading the Johnnies with 53 three-pointers made.
Sellers went unselected in the 2026 NBA draft and suited up for the New York Knicks in last month's NBA Summer League, recording 5.8 points per game in five appearances off the bench.
Unlike fellow seniors Zuby Ejiofor and Bryce Hopkins, Sellers retains his college basketball eligibility because he did not sign a standard NBA contract or a two-way deal. Dillon Mitchell can still return to college basketball since he has yet to ink a contract with the Boston Celtics, but he could potentially take one of the Celtics' remaining two-way contract slots following an impressive Summer League performance that saw him average 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in three games.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are buying at the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline, as it was announced today from Jeff Passan the Buccos acquired relife pitcher Camilo Doval from the New York Yankees. In return, the Bucs send two Minor Leaguers in catcher Omar Alfonzo and outfielder Luis Cruz. New York has also agreed to pay a portion of Doval's salary.
The 29-year-old right-handed reliever has elite velocity, touching 101 mph and throwing a fastball, cutter, ans slider. He has 3.53 career ERA and 393 strikeouts in 326 innings, but he hasn't been great since coming to New York last season, finishing with a 4.84 ERA last year and holding a 4.54 one this year.
This deal has been described as being one with "high-upside risk" as Doval has loads of arm talent and potential to be a key piece in Pittsburgh's bullpen. In 2023 as a member of the San Francisco Giants, the 29-year-old righty was an All-Star closer before being traded to the Yankees in the Summer of 2025. His stuff which includes a cutter that regularly touches triple digits, a sinker that sits at 98mph and an incredible cutter gives him the tools to be very effective on the mound. His results since arriving in the Bronx is why the Pirates were able to buy low with him, because he's had lots of problems with consistency.
Doval's rough adjustment to New York could be that it just wasn't the right environment for him. Going from San Francisco which is a pitcher friendly ballpark to the Yankees' shallow outfield could be why he struggled. Regardless the Pirates add another arm to what has been a struggling bullpen. Doval fits the mold that a player like Aroldis Chapman provides to the backend of the bullpen. His blazing pitch speed is pure power in late game situations, and could be beneficial in high leverage situations. Although he struggled at Yankee Stadium it's worth nothing that he's been very good on the road with a 1.86 ERA and just one homer allowed in 19 1/3 innings. The change of scenery and a great pitching staff could be exactly what Doval needs to get back to his All-Star ways. If he can find consistency, he could be a key contributor in helping the Pirates reach the playoffs for the first time in 11 years.
Mike Axisa of CBS Sports gave the Pirates an A grade on the trade, citing the low cost as one of the big factors that makes this trade a win for Pittsburgh.

The Raiders haven't gotten a lot of immediate contributions from their rookies classes that past couple years. That must change this year as they look to get off to a fast start in their rebuild. In the spirit of that, let's look at what we've seen from their rookie class through the first three days of training camp.
Day one of camp, Mendoza took the field as the newly minted backup to Kirk Cousins. This after Mendoza had been the number three QB throughout offseason workouts. He looks smooth playing under center and throws a very good ball. Each day he seems to be asked to make tougher throws and he has kept pace well. As of yet, he has not thrown an interception. Mendoza has said he has a long way to go to fully absorbing the playbook and having full command of the offense, but is feeling fairly comfortable already.
He was drafted to challenge for either a safety job or nickel cornerback spot. Perhaps a hybrid role like Jeremy Chinn played last season. As of yet, the first team safeties have consistently been Chinn and fellow incumbent starter Isaiah Pola-Mao with veteran addition Taron Johnson nailing down the nickel corner job. But lots of camp still to see if Stukes can earn more reps, perhaps with the first team.
He has been pretty routinely running with the third team and until pads go on, he won't have a shot to change that.
He was a college tackle who was projected as a center and drafted as a guard. The Raiders have been testing his versatility, playing him as the second team center behind Tyler Linderbaum and third team right guard behind Jackson Powers-Johnson and Caleb Rogers. Zuhn has had his struggles with giving up pressure inside and Friday he launched a snap way over Fernando Mendoza's head. Yeah, he's still working out the kinks.

Back on July 21, BYU finally got a big man when Polish forward/center Jakub Urbaniak committed to BYU. BYU hasn't announced the signing, but things seem to be moving in the right direction. Jakub's Pro Club announced last Thursday they have to a buyout of his contract.
Jakub will compete to start at the four or five spot, depending on who BYU brings in to fill out the roster. While Urbaniak isn't the prototypical 7-footer fans were clamoring four (he is 6-foot-9), he is a Big 12 caliber front court player and brings a high motor, rebounding tenacity, some offensive skill, and the ability to switch and guard on the defensive end. Arman Jovic is a European Scout and gave the below breakdown of Urbaniak. One of Urbaniak's best qualities is that he can make an impact with low usage rate.
Assuming Urbaniak makes his way to campus, BYU has two roster spots to fill. The bomb that dropped Friday in the US District court of Colorado granted class-wide preliminary injunction that requires the NCAA to declare eligible all HS class of 2022 athletes eligible. That essentially means that all four-year players, across all sports, who lost their eligibility are now eligible to play this next season. The NCAA can and still likely will appeal this, but the court decisions have not been going in their favor.
Many coaches around the country have been actively recruiting graduated seniors over the past couple weeks with the expectation that they will be eligible. There is still the risk for players and schools the NCAA will get federal courts to overturn the rulings, but for now many schools are full steam ahead in recruiting the impacted players.
Even with the influx of players, there is still questions schools need to answer outside of the uncertainty if the NCAA's appeal will be successful. How much money do schools have left? Many schools have exhausted most of their budgets. How many roster spots to schools have left? Will graduated players count against the 15-player limit, or will they get an exemption? Is it worth adding a one-year player this late and potentially disrupting team chemistry and displacing other players? Lots to consider, and the money one if the most practical and relevant out of all of them.

Amazon reported better-than-expected second-quarter earnings on Thursday, and investors loved what they saw. Net sales rose 20%, and cloud revenue stood out as a particular bright spot. This combination of positive results was enough to send Amazon's stock up nearly 10% in after-hours trading.
Crucially, Amazon isn't slowing down on data center spending, despite the conventional wisdom that investors want companies to rein it in.
One line item, in particular, illustrates Amazon's appetite for investing in infrastructure. Amazon spent $173 billion for the fiscal year ended June 30 on property and equipment — a category that covers GPUs, natural gas turbines, and plots of land — up from $107.65 billion from the year before.
It also raised its 2026 capex forecast from $200 billion to $220 billion — even as it has begun dipping into its cash reserves to help cover the cost. The company ended the quarter with $7.6 billion less cash than it had 12 months ago, marking its first period of negative free cash flow this year.
Under normal circumstances, ballooning expenses would be a tough pill for investors to swallow. But Amazon has a revenue engine that helps justify the spending. AWS revenue rose 37% year over year, clocking $42 billion for the quarter. That's not enough to balance out the capex spending in raw arithmetic, but it shows that demand is growing alongside supply. Given the years-long time lag between breaking ground on a data center and selling its capacity, that's reassuring for investors.

Adam Carolla is the latest conservative voice to crash out over Anne Hathaway's 2018 Human Rights Campaign speech about white, straight men.
Back in 2018, Hathaway gave a speech while accepting National Ally for Equality Award from the LGBTQ+ civil rights organization the Human Rights Campaign. In it, she called out straight white men in a way that is rankling conservatives and MAGA-minded people eight years later now that she stars in one of the biggest movies of the year, Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey."
"It is important to acknowledge with the exception of being a cisgender male, everything about how I was born has put me at the current center of a damaging and widely accepted myth," Hathaway said at the time. "That myth is that gayness orbits around straightness, transgender orbits around cisgender, and that all races orbit around whiteness. This myth is wrong. But this myth is too real for too many … It is a habit, so it's ***** umed to be the way things are."
On Friday's episode of "The Adam and Dr. Drew Show," both men took umbrage with the near-decade old quote. A meltdown ensued on the show as the two tried to figure out what exactly Hathaway meant while ***** uring listeners that regardless of what she meant, she was wrong.

The Las Vegas Aces will be looking to run it back as defending champs with the reigning MVP, A'ja Wilson, leading the way. Lots of other contenders hope to have something to say about that including the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty and Indiana Fever. The Fever, who were without floor leader Caitlin Clark for much of last season, are fully healthy. The Liberty, who were also bitten by the injury bug last season, already have Sabrina Ionesco on the sidelines after she rolled her ankle in a preseason game against the Connecticut Sun.

Boston Scientific posted second-quarter net sales of $5.44 billion and adjusted earnings of $0.86 per share on Wednesday, beating its own guidance, but the company trimmed its full-year profit outlook as demand for its Watchman heart implant fell short of expectations.
The company now expects full-year 2026 adjusted earnings per share of $3.28 to $3.32, the company said. That compares to a prior forecast of $3.34 to $3.41 per share. ***** ysts had expected full-year adjusted profit of $3.36 per share, according to Reuters.
Boston Scientific also cut its full-year organic sales growth outlook to a range of 5% to 6%, down from a prior range of 6.5% to 8%, the company said.
The Watchman is a device implanted in the heart to block blood clots that can cause strokes in patients who have atrial fibrillation. The drag on that business stems from changing clinical practice — doctors are more often pairing the Watchman with other heart procedures in one visit, which has eaten into the volume of dedicated Watchman-only cases, according to Reuters. Boston Scientific indicated that Watchman revenue is on track to be roughly unchanged in the second quarter and probably the third as well, even as combined-procedure volumes keep climbing.
The quarterly results themselves topped expectations. Second-quarter adjusted EPS of $0.86 came in above the company's guidance range of $0.82 to $0.84. Revenue of $5.44 billion exceeded the high end of the company's guided range of 5.5% to 7.5% reported growth. ***** ysts had expected quarterly revenue of $5.36 billion and adjusted profit of $0.83 per share.

July 29 (Reuters) - Medical device maker Boston Scientific on Wednesday lowered its annual profit forecast, citing pressure on its Watchman heart ‌device business.
The company, in May, warned of pressure on its ‌Watchman heart device, a small implant used to help prevent stroke-causing blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation, due to softer-than-expected uptake.
Boston Scientific said growth was being weighed down by a decline in standalone Watchman procedures as physicians increasingly combine the implant with other cardiac treatments during a single visit.
As a result, ‌the company said it expects ⁠flat Watchman revenue growth in the second and likely third quarter, despite continued uptake in combined procedures.
On Monday, Boston ⁠Scientific's board approved a new company-wide restructuring plan aimed at cutting costs and better positioning the company for future growth.

With Liverpool stating that they have more than 26 million supporters in the USA, there is little surprise over why the Reds chose America as the destination for their pre-season tour.
This has been quite the summer for football here and Billy Hogan, CEO of Liverpool and Fenway Sports Group (FSG), insists the aim is to build on that after what has been a "super difficult year" for the club "for lots of different reasons".
Last week, FSG, which owns Liverpool, confirmed that a consortium led by Amit Bhatia, a British-Indian millionaire businessman, was in talks over a strategic minority investment in the club. Those talks have been ongoing and there is a growing belief that a deal will be done.
"Look, John Henry (the principal owner) and FSG have always said that if there was an interest in an investment that would help the football club, then they would consider it. That was said many years ago and that remains the case here," Hogan tells BBC Sport.
"At this point, I wouldn't say anything different to the statement that a consortium led, managed and represented by Amit Bhatia has come forward and expressed an interest in a minority investment."

UFC star Jon Jones posted a video of him killing a pig in 2021 and that led allegedly to a long message from Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton.
Jones was living life after vacating his UFC light heavyweight ***** le at the time — and bulking up to eventually move to heavyweight — when he went on a helicopter ride to shoot at pigs alongside former rangers. Hamilton, who had just won just 7th world championship in Formula 1 months prior, apparently didn't like it.
"I went hunting years ago with bunch of army rangers, and we ended up hunting pigs from a helicopter from using AR-15s," Jones said in an interview with ALF Global. "I was so proud of myself 'cause I killed one of the pigs from the helicopter. My pig was donated to an underprivileged family in the community."

He said that the traditional way of killing animals should be with a spear or a bow and arrow. The Los Angeles Lakers have done lots of work this summer to remodel their roster around Luka Doncic after LeBron James and several other rotation players left. But that doesn't necessarily mean their current roster is the one they will take with them into training camp when the summer ends.
They still don't have a legitimate starting two-way wing or forward, and they reportedly are looking for another serviceable center to back up Walker Kessler. Of course, by this point in the offseason, the pickings are slim, either via free agency or trade.
Dan Woike of The Athletic outlined the Lakers' options as far as picking up another big man, and he noted that Jalen Smith of the Chicago Bulls "has some fans" within the Lakers organization, while also adding the concerns that would come with acquiring him.
"Smith has some fans within the organization because he plays with motor and has worked himself into a pretty good outside shooter," Woike wrote. "But Smith is expensive (one-year, $9.5 million remaining on his deal) and undersized at 6 foot 8. The previous Bulls' regime was a fan of his, which puts his actual availability into question."
Smith, 26, was the No. 10 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and can play both the 4 and 5 positions. This past season, he averaged 10.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 20.7 minutes a game while making 37.3% of his 3-point attempts. He has a wingspan of at least 7-foot-1, and while he isn't a freakish athlete, he has solid athleticism and runs the floor well.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass – After a slow day on Monday that consisted of just a walkthrough practice, the New England Patriots certainly ramped things up on Tuesday. The players took the field in shells, preparing for their first padded practice which is set for later this week.
And with that, those in attendance got their first look at the offense doing 7-on-7 drills as well as some time spent on 1-on-1s between the offensive and defensive lines.
With a higher-intensity practice comes lots more to talk about, so let's get into some takeaways:
The Patriots had three players depart practice early on Tuesday. First, it was starting cornerback Carlton Davis, who left after covering A.J. Brown during the 7-on-7 session. Kindle Vildor replaced him, and then Charles Woods. Then, when 11-on-11s began, it was Woods who was playing opposite Gonzalez, but he also left early. BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Since Russia's full invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the war has repeatedly spilled across Romania's border as drones violate the airspace of the neighboring European Union and NATO member.
Now Romania is trying something new to stop the incursions: shooting down the drones.
Romanian pilots shot down the first of three drones in as many days from F-16 fighter jets starting Friday as Russia intensified attacks against Ukraine near the border. After determining the drones were of Russian origin, Romania summoned Moscow's ambassador in protest and expelled a Russian diplomat on Monday.
Drones have crossed into Romanian territory multiple times from Ukraine to the north and east, including in May when a drone injured a mother and child after crashing into an apartment block in the eastern town of Galati along the Danube River.
Romanian authorities largely responded by scrambling jets, collecting debris, erecting fallout shelters near the border and frequently admonishing Moscow for its war spilling into its territory.

A federal appeals court has upheld a ruling that halted President Donald Trump's executive order to create a federal list of eligible voters and limit delivery of mail ballots only to people on that list.
The ruling over the weekend rejected the Trump administration's effort to move forward with the mail-in voting restrictions in 23 U.S. states that sued ahead of November's midterm elections.
Also, the Trump administration has acknowledged in court documents that it canceled $7.6 billion in grants for hundreds of clean energy projects "based solely on the political identity of the grant recipient's state" — in this case, 16 states that voted for Democrat Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

The Toronto Blue Jays have dealt with plenty of problems this season, and it has led to lots of disappointment after having made it to extra innings in Game 7 of the World Series to end the 2025 campaign.
Many of the problems still exist, but the Blue Jays seem to have at least solved Jeff Hoffman's issues.
Hoffman, who blew the save in Game 7, opened this year in miserable form. It was just a mighty struggle.
He earned himself a demotion from the closer role, and he's had to work to prove he still deserves decent bullpen opportunities.

Former ******* nal star Takehiro Tomiyasu is currently training with Crystal Palace as he plots a Premier League return, according to The Athletic. The ******* anese left the Gunners in July 2025 after his contract was terminated by mutual agreement at the North London club. Tomiyasu was a key player for ******* nal manager Mikel Arteta whenever he was fit, making 84 appearances for the Emirates Stadium club during his four seasons at the club. The Palace target joined Ajax last December on a six-month deal, leaving at the end of last season.
He is currently a free agent and a move to the Selhurst Park club could be on the cards. The former Gunners star could make an appearance for the Eagles in a friendly later this week. He has been training with the South London club as part of their pre-season preparations. The high-level training environment Palace is providing has come in handy for Tomiyasu as he looks to maintain and improve his fitness.
Tomiyasu made three appearances at the World Cup with ******* an and will fancy his chances of impressing in the Premier League again after overcoming his injury woes.
The Eagles are not the only ones keen on the full-back, with clubs in the Championship and other European leagues also looking to recruit his services.
He will not be short of suitors even if a move to Palace falls through, but a return to the English top-flight appeals to him.

The WNBA is back with a new collective bargaining agreement and million dollar players.
The Las Vegas Aces will be looking to run it back as defending champs with the reigning MVP, A'ja Wilson, leading the way. Lots of other contenders hope to have something to say about that including the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty and Indiana Fever. The Fever, who were without floor leader Caitlin Clark for much of last season, are fully healthy. The Liberty, who were also bitten by the injury bug last season, already have Sabrina Ionesco on the sidelines after she rolled her ankle in a preseason game against the Connecticut Sun.
The Atlanta Dream also made the trade of the offseason, getting Angel Reese from the Chicago Sky to add to a roster which won 30 games last season.

Enterprise AI agents were meant to be the breakout software offering for 2026, yet instead they've become one of the major sources of buyer distrust. According to Anaconda and Forrester research, over 88% of AI agent pilots never reach production, as confirmed by independent polls from a16z and MIT Sloan's CIO panel, while Gartner predicts that more than 40% of agentic AI initiatives will be discontinued entirely by 2027 due to questionable ROI.
Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) walked into the gap between agent hype and agent reality when it placed its growth narrative on Agentforce, and by 2026, that bet has made Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) one of the worst-performing components of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, down around 31.48% year to date.
The immediate cause appears to be a credibility problem, not a demand issue. Bernstein downgraded Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) to Sector Weight from Outperform on July 9, removing its price target completely and citing poor customer feedback on Agentforce in particular. According to **** yst Jackson Ader, the released data doesn't yet indicate growing momentum, and a recent CIO survey found Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) to be "a standout for the wrong reasons."
That said, this interpretation is not uniform, and the debate on the market is serious. On July 14, Goldman Sachs reiterated its Buy rating and $242 price target, expecting organic growth to pick up in the third quarter as more details on AI monetization become available at Salesforce's Agentforce event in September. Goldman's more constructive reading is based on management's own acknowledgment of headwinds in Tableau, Commerce, and Marketing, which the firm sees as realistic rather than concerning, arguing that Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) is being open about a 12-to-24-month drag on its organic growth algorithm rather than covering it up.
Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM)'s historical valuation decline looks to be the most mispriced aspect of the market story. Shares are currently trading at a compressed forward earnings multiple of only 10.83x, a substantial drop from the stock's five-year historical average of over 127x. The disparity is even more obvious when compared to prominent peers such as ServiceNow, which trades at a forward P/E of around 20.43x and requires consistent revenue growth above 18% through 2028 to maintain its valuation premium. Salesforce's current valuation of less than 11x forecast earnings is in near-total deadlock, despite the company's strong free cash flow generation and substantial enterprise data integration.

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Farokh Engineer believes teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already done enough to earn an ODI call-up and wants the 15-year-old to open alongside Rohit Sharma ahead of the 2027 World Cup.

Engineer feels India should reshuffle their batting order by moving Shubman Gill to No. 4, allowing Sooryavanshi to partner Rohit at the top while Virat Kohli slots in at No. 3.

"The ideal situation is Shubman Gill and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Gill is a class player. Gill, I think, is the best batsman in the team now. So, Gill should come at four," Engineer told PTI.

The former India star said the combination of a right-handed Rohit and left-handed Sooryavanshi would provide the ideal balance in ODI cricket.

"Gill is not a guy who lifts the ball. So, a left-right combination would be ideal in ODIs. So, if Rohit is playing, and I think he should be playing, let him open with Sooryavanshi.

"A batsman like him (Sooryavanshi) is much better at opening because he finds bigger gaps in the field. Virat Kohli can come third. Gill can come fourth and then we've got a solid batting line-up," he said.

Engineer's remarks come after Sooryavanshi enjoyed a breakthrough T20I series against Zimbabwe. The youngster finished as the leading run-scorer with 151 runs, including two half-centuries, and was named Player of the Series as India completed a 3-0 clean sweep.

According to Engineer, those performances are enough to fast-track the teenager into India's 50-over plans.

"This is probably the right time to draft Sooryavanshi into India's ODI side. I don't know why people distinguish so much between ODI and T20 because for me, a half-volley is a half-volley. He's been getting runs and he's got the confidence to open the innings.

"He'll win more matches for you than lose you. When he gives a start like that, the other players can have time to consolidate the innings and put on a big score," Engineer noted.

While Sooryavanshi struggled during India's T20I tour of England earlier this month, the Zimbabwe series showcased his ability to adapt. He produced a measured 81 off 49 ***** in the final T20I on a slow Harare surface after blasting a rapid half-century in the series opener.

The teenager has also shown areas that still require improvement, including handling short-pitched bowling, adapting quickly to overseas conditions and refining his shot selection. However, Engineer urged India not to overburden the youngster with technical changes, insisting his natural game is what makes him special.

"Anything which is slightly short of length, in Sooryavanshi's curve, is going to go for a six. He learned from his mistakes, he has learned to curb himself. But don't try to over-coach him. He's not from the MCC book of manual, which is completely out of date.

The game against York was a perfect start to the 2026/2027 season. Class weather, a regiment of the red and white army and a strong display on the pitch. As one of the many that travelled, it turned out to be a great day and really got me looking forward to the games to come.
Despite being on the wrong end of the result during our clash with Liverpool, there were still lots of positives to take and it didn't dampen my mood.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Monday to clear the way for an executive order from President Donald Trump that could dramatically change mail-in voting ahead of November's midterm elections.
The Justice Department asked the justices to halt for now lower court decisions blocking the sweeping changes in nearly half the country.
The request comes shortly after Trump delivered a primetime address elevating his yearslong push to raise doubts about the legitimacy of elections, and could be one of several voting-related challenges before the court ahead of the high-stakes midterm contest.
Trump ordered the government in March to create a "state citizenship list" of eligible voters and deliver mail ballots only to people on that list.
Democratic officials in 23 states and the District of Columbia sued, saying the Constitution gives states and Congress the authority to set election rules, not the president. Their attorneys have said Trump's proposed changes are ripe for abuse and could cause chaos.
