A Bahamian national who arrived in the U.S. during President Gerald Ford's administration and was living with a green card racked up a violent rap sheet before investigators found he voted illegally in the 2020 election, sparking the deportation process, officials say.
The case of Anthony Tyrone Higgs is only the latest in a slew of arrests connected to illegal votes cast in recent elections, as the Trump administration engages in a broader crackdown on election integrity-related crimes.
"This alien was a guest in our country who forfeited his right to be in the U.S. when he committed these violent crimes and voted in the 2020 election," White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis exclusively told Fox News Digital on Friday.

Multiple 76ers spotted playing in annual Rico Hines Runs originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The NBA offseason is starting to enter its final stages as players and teams around the league will start to get ready for the campaign to come. This is certainly the case for the Philadelphia 76ers, who are going into a preseason camp with a plethora of new faces, whether it was the blockbuster trade acquisition, Jaylen Brown, another marquee signing in LeBron James, or their first-round pick, LaBaron Philon Jr.
The latter of the aforementioned trio was spotted during an off-season pick-up game at the annual Rico Hines Runs, as reported by ESPN's Dave McMenamin. Hines has been an ***** istant coach with the Sixers for several seasons at this point, and his scrimmages have become a staple of the offseason for that time period.
Given that Hines is a member of Philadelphia's coaching staff, it's no surprise that there were multiple other members of the Sixers, as V.J. Edgecombe, Adem Bona, Dominick Barlow, and Caleb Love were all spotted in the gym. Edgecombe went into the offseason off a fiery rookie campaign in the NBA, averaging 16 points and 4.2 ***** ists, while Barlow and Bona managed to carve a sizable role into Nick Nurse's system throughout the season.
Something to point out about Edgecombe is that this isn't his first on-court action in the offseason, given that he was a part of the Bahamian National Team during a recent run of FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in early July.

Lets's call him INTREPID. My guy in the gym in the Bahamas.
That was the code name for the head of British Intelligence in the Caribbean during WWII.
All observations are obviously his, phoned in to your intrepid chronicler within minutes of the final buzzer of U of L's 101-52 thrashing of "Bahamas."
"The Bahamian team was pretty good."
"I was really impressed with Isaac Ellis. He was a pest on defense. Clogged up the passing lanes. Lots of deflections."

A devastating double aviation crisis in the Bahamas, including a deadly North Andros plane crash and a separate aircraft fire Friday, prompted the government to suspend flight operations for a local airline and launch a federal safety probe.
Shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, a Cessna 402 aircraft with Bahamian registration departed Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau bound for San Andros Airport.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) said the plane "encountered difficulties" and crashed into bushes prior to landing.

First responders, including the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Airport Authority and emergency medical personnel, rushed to the dense brush where the aircraft went down.

76ers' VJ Edgecombe dazzles in FIBA World Cup qualifier originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
While the NBA season is well in the rearview mirror and players around the league are resting up for the campaign to come, some are choosing to hone their craft for their national team in the meantime. This has been the case for Philadelphia 76ers' star VJ Edgecombe, who has been with the Bahamian national team for their qualification campaign for the FIBA World Cup.
This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone keyed into Edgecombe's social media, as he's been busy posting snippets from the team's training sessions, including some shots of former Sixers rotation pieces, Eric Gordon and Buddy Hield. It's worth noting that the team's Sixers roots run a bit deeper; former two-way star Kai Jones also sits on the national team roster.
On Saturday afternoon, Edgecombe and the Bahamian team would take to the court against Jamaica for the fifth game of qualification.
The Sixers' rookie would show off his talents against his opponents on Saturday, dropping 26 points and eight rebounds, shooting the lights out with 66.7 percent accuracy from the field, as well as 60 percent from beyond the arc. While this point tally doesn't sound like too much, it was the highest total in the game, with Jamaica's Andrew Thelwell's 24 points coming as a close second.
