Brandy and Whoopi Goldberg, the stars of 1997's live-action "Cinderella," reunited front row at Christian Siriano's fashion show Thursday, Sept. 10, during the first official day of NYFW. NEW LONDON - The Connecticut Heritage Maritime Festival is playing in this waterfront town this weekend. The "Eagle," the Coast Guard's iconic three-masted ship, will be a big draw.
On Thursday night, the New London football team got the party rolling a day early, running the "Jolly Jack" up the S.S. Cochran and defeating Joel Barlow 56-17 in a Connecticut High School Football Alliance game at Pat Cannamela Field that marked coach Jack Cochran's return to the New London sidelines after a 17-year absence.
Cochran and his Whalers came in with a roar - literally. They were led down to the field by a motorcycle escort.
From there, they simply kept revving.

There haven't been many games like last night, but the couple that the Brewers have had have felt like the worst time to have them. Tonight, the conditions at The Friendly Confines look to be similar to last night, meaning the best pitching staff in the National League will have their work cut out for them yet again.
To make things more interesting, both pitchers toeing the slab have had quite the interesting lines for their respective scenarios. For Robert Gasser, he has not looked comfortable in road games this season, entering tonight's game with a 5.10 ERA, having allowed 45 hits with nine home runs. On the bright side of things, he is coming off of one of his better performances this season as he allowed just one run in 5.1 innings, something he hasn't done since August 1 against the Angels.
While Gasser's stats might sound scary, it's not quite as bad as what we've seen from the Cubs starting pitcher Matthew Boyd during home games this season. Through eight starts, Boyd has posted a 5.44 ERA, allowing at least five runs in each of his last two starts. To pour a little more salt into the wound, Boyd hasn't fared well against the Brewers throughout his career, as he has a 9.00 ERA in five starts, allowing nine home runs, 16 walks, and 30 hits.
With the offense looking like it's going to be the name of the game tonight, the Brewers will continue to go with the home run-heavy top of the lineup. As will the Cubs tonight, as they're fresh off of the second most home runs hit by an MLB team in history with nine last night. The man who had three of them last night, Alex Bregman, will be in the three spot of their lineup last night.
As the calendar flips to September, reinforcements enter the clubhouse. Earlier this afternoon, the Brewers recalled Bo Naylor from Triple-A Nashville, giving the team their third catcher on the active roster. The second reinforcement comes in the left-hander JoJo Romero, who will look to make his Brewers debut tonight. Before the trade with the Cardinals, Romero had appeared in 44 games, recording 20 holds while posting a 3.51 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers are set to face the Mets in New York this week, as the Crew looks to continue their winning ways. Louisville football went from having only one returning starting defensive back to three.
Three days after cornerback Jabari Mack reportedly returned to the Cardinals' squad under the new 5-for-5 rule, 2025 starting safety D'Angelo Hutchinson announced on social media Tuesday, Aug. 18, that he'll do the same.
Hutchinson is a modern-day rarity having spent his whole career at Louisville. He was a role player for most of that time before earning a starting spot last season. Hutchinson capitalized on the opportunity, becoming the Cardinals' second-leading tackler (84) and tying defensive lineman Clev Lubin and Tayon Holloway, who was previously the lone returning starting cornerback, with the second-most pass breakups (5).
His return gives UofL more continuity at the safety spot after the squad also lost starting safety Jojo Evans to graduation. Although the influx of transfer safeties has had eight months to acclimate, Hutchinson's extensive familiarity with the system will be key in having another leader in the room. Prior to his return, the Cardinals were looking to Iowa transfer Koen Entringer and Tennessee transfer Kaleb Beasley to provide veteran leadership and become the team's starting safeties.

This week's example? The St. Louis Cardinals.
They dealt away starter Dustin May and reliever JoJo Romero and respected outfielder Lars Nootbaar at the trade deadline and promptly won four consecutive series and eight of their past 12 games. That's lifted them above .500 and within three games of a playoff spot.
Talk about addition by, well, addition: Nootbaar's trade helped open some ****** e for rookie Joshua Báez, who merely had the greatest debut in major league history. Phenom? He is now, it seems.

BYU receivers coach and passing game coordinator Fesi Sitake has a son whose middle name is Legend.
That son now wants to be called by his middle name.
Why?
Because there's a newcomer to the football team, a freshman receiver, named Legend Glasker who just might be the next big thing in Provo. Glasker, a three-star recruit (247Sports) who graduated from nearby Lehi High last December so he could enroll early at BYU, was one of the breakout stars in spring camp and has picked up where he left off this month in preseason training camp.
Sitake said Monday that Glasker has "solidified his spot" with the first-team offense, along with Oregon transfer Kyler Kasper and Jojo Phillips, the redshirt junior who has shown flashes of brilliance but a lack of consistency, partly due to injury, in three seasons in the program.

This members-only card featured four high-octane Muay Thai and MMA bouts, which streamed exclusively on live.onefc.com from "The Madison Square Garden of the East." With three of the four bouts ending in highlight-reel fashion, the show delivered non-stop thrills from beginning to end.
A new bantamweight MMA king was crowned in the main event, as Azerbaijani-Russian destroyer Elbek Alyshov turned off Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu's lights in the second round.
Alyshov dropped the Mongolian ******* leholder with a thunderous uppercut in the clinch, and then he followed up with relentless ground-and-pound to force the referee to wave off the contest. Ramadan "The Scorpion" Ondash and Abdallah Ondash are brothers, close friends, and ruthless training partners who have spent much of their lives pushing each other toward the highest levels of Muay Thai.
The 19-year-old Ramadan will face former friend Johan "Jojo" Ghazali in a flyweight Muay Thai co-main event of The Inner Circle 24 on Friday, July 31.

When we heard that JoJo Boumtje Boumtje said the following on the Brotherhood Podcast, we knew it wouldn't go unnoticed. If you missed it, here's what he said about choosing Duke over UNC:
"Really just my gut feeling. Like, I like a lot of the schools that I had offers from, but at the end of the day, I think the thing that sold it was, if I go to one of these schools, I feel like I'm missing out on Duke. For Duke, I didn't feel that way for the other schools.
"Like, I didn't feel like I was missing out on going to, I don't know, UNC, for example. Like, it would have been great, but I feel like I would have been missing out on Duke if I had gone to UNC. So, just stuff like that, the fit, like the plan that Coach Jon [Scheyer] has for me, like all of that, it's really what brought me here."
Needless to say, this hasn't gone over well with the fans of the Lesser Blue.
Honestly, though, it's the funniest thing we can remember a freshman saying since Jason Williams went on Duke's WXDU and talked about how much he hated UNC and looked forward to killing them. He was, um…inappropriately enthusiastic.
