The piece is topped with heart-shaped bow motifs and was originally set with 38 pearls (19 dangling, 19 upright). Queen Mary later had the upper pearls removed and replaced with enormous diamonds.

Tate McRae traded stagewear for a softer kind of drama at Schiaparelli, arriving at the fashion house's Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris in a sweeping champagne-toned satin look.
The 23-year-old singer attended the October 1 presentation in a deeply plunging blazer paired with a matching floor-length slip skirt. Her hair was worn long and loose, while the styling remained relatively spare, allowing the reflective fabric and dramatic neckline to carry most of the look.
CNN Style identified the outfit as a champagne blazer and coordinating slip skirt, clearing up a detail that was easy to miss from photographs because the uninterrupted satin silhouette could initially read as a gown. McRae joined other music figures at the Schiaparelli presentation, including Peggy Gou and JT.
The front-row appearance came during an unusually significant day for McRae away from the concert stage. October 1 also marked the official launch of TATE 01, her debut fragrance and first major move into the beauty business, putting a new entrepreneurial project alongside one of her most prominent Paris Fashion Week appearances.

Megyn Kelly criticized Mariska Hargitay over her response to a ****** ual ****** ault case involving Cornell University students. During her podcast, Kelly questioned Hargitay's comments and also criticized the outfit worn by the actress's 15-year-old daughter at the 2026 Emmy Awards.
The criticism came after Hargitay spoke out about a case involving a former Cornell student who alleged that seven fraternity members drugged and ****** ually ****** aulted her in October 2024, according to OK! Magazine.
The case drew renewed attention in September after the woman filed a civil lawsuit. The Tompkins County District Attorney later reopened the criminal investigation and said the case would be presented to a grand jury.
Hargitay, who stars in Law & Order: SVU and founded the Joyful Heart Foundation, criticized Cornell's handling of the case. She also shared posts calling for consequences for the accused men, writing, "Yes, I think we should ruin the futures of adult men who drug and gang r— a woman."
Kelly began her podcast segment by discussing Hargitay's career and appearance at the Emmys. Hargitay hosted the ceremony and attended with her family, including her 15-year-old daughter, Amaya.

Rebel Wilson is facing a new sanctions motion in her Los Angeles defamation battle with three producers of The Deb.
Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden accuse Wilson of giving false sworn testimony, withholding documents and mishandling evidence during pretrial discovery. Their lawyers characterize the alleged conduct as a "fraud on the court" and are asking Judge Thomas Long to impose penalties.
Wilson's attorney, Allyson Katherine Thompson, disputes the accusations. She told MyNewsLA that the motion is another attempt to malign Wilson and described it as "gamesmanship" in a heavily contested case.
The sanctions motion is scheduled for an Oct. 22 hearing. The producers' underlying defamation case against Wilson is currently scheduled for trial in Los Angeles in January 2027.
One of the examples in the motion concerns a demand letter tied to the dispute.

CBK meet HRB. While in Paris for the Spring/Summer 2027 shows, Hailey Bieber celebrated fashion week with a piece of fashion history—stepping out in one of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's most-recognizable looks.
Sourced by London-based curator My Runway Archive and styled by Dani Michelle, the white midi dress seen on Bieber was first worn by her It girl predecessor during her rehearsal dinner with John F. Kennedy Jr. And while it's typically Bessette-Kennedy's minimalist bias-cut silk slip wedding dress that gets all the recognition, this backless number was a quieter star of the weekend—with its sleeveless silhouette, low V neckline, and shimmering transparent fabric.
The piece (see here) was designed by CBK's longtime friend and collaborator, Narciso Rodriguez, for his Spring/Summer 1997 collection for Cerruti. The house's then-creative director first met his muse while they were both working at Calvin Klein—him as a designer, her as a publicist—and went on to design several of her most-beloved looks, including the aforementioned wedding dress, which helped kick-start his solo career.
In fact, their creative relationship was so central to Bessette-Kennedy's story that Ryan Murphy gave it ample air time on Love Story, even dreaming up a dramatized sequence in which the two had to frantically sew her into the dress last minute, which Rodriguez has since clarified was a fictional addition.

The champagne-hued midi dress is adorned with crystal embellishments and features a bias-cut with a plunging neckline, sleeveless design, and a figure-hugging silhouette.
The garment is the same dress that Carolyn Bessette Kennedy wore to her wedding rehearsal dinner in 1996. Carolyn first met the designer in 1990, when they worked together at Calvin Klein, and soon after enlisted Narciso to craft her wedding dress. I had an overwhelming feeling that her platinum-silver silk-satin Armani Privé one-shoulder gown, with micro-crystal embroidery along the lining, was inspired by the archives. The silhouette and futuristic feel immediately took me back to Mr Armani's Spring 2011 collection, but the design is actually based on a Silvana Armani gown from the Fall 2026 collection.

As much as I adore that rich hue and the velvet fabric, I think Claire made the right choice. The silver feels better suited to both the occasion and her red carpet style, while still retaining everything that made the original design so striking.

Sept 14 (Reuters) - Hollywood designer Bob Mackie, known for making stars such as Cher and ‌Elton John sparkle, died on Monday at ‌87, according to a post on his official Instagram account.
His career spanned five decades and included designing a Barbie doll clothes collection.
Born in 1939 into a middle-class family in Monterey Park, California, he was nominated for ‌more than 30 ⁠Emmys, winning nine. He received Academy Award nominations for costumes worn in ⁠the films "Lady Sings the Blues," "Funny Lady," and "Pennies From Heaven."
"His genius and extraordinary designs will live on forever, continuing to bring beauty into this world," his ‌team said in an Instagram post. His cause of death was not stated.
Mackie was known for sequins, rhinestones and glitter, but also humor. The highlight of his 11-year run for The Carol ‌Burnett Show was the "curtain dress" worn by Burnett in a sketch parodying 1939 film classic "Gone with the Wind." ‌The costume, now in the collection of the Smithsonian's American History Museum, included a brass curtain rod balanced on Burnett's shoulders and a bit ‌of valance worn as a hat.

The fashion and costume designer Bob Mackie, whose glittering creations have been worn by Cher, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner and Miley Cyrus, has died at age 87, according to his social accounts.
"It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Mr. Bob Mackie passed away today. He lived his 87 years to the fullest, fulfilling his dream of being a Fashion and Costume Designer, which is all he ever wanted to do," read a post on his Instagram account. "His genius and extraordinary designs will live on forever, continuing to bring beauty into this world."
Mackie became known for his glamorous designs after collaborating with Cher, dressing her on television and on tour. He also served as the costume designer for "The Carol Burnett Show," responsible for Burnett's entire wardrobe. Nicknamed the Sultan of Sequins, the Rajah of Rhinestones and the Guru of Glitter, Mackie's ostentatious, flattering looks became instantly recognizable over the course of his career. His popularity continued into the modern day, with his archive coveted by a new generation of stars.
For his stage and screen work, Mackie has been awarded nine Emmys, an induction into the Television Academy Hall of Fame and three Academy Award nominations. In 1999, he received a retrospective at the Museum at FIT. More recently, he won a Tony Award for the musical "The Cher Show" and a lifetime achievement award by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Fern Mallis, former executive director of CFDA and founder of New York Fashion Week, credited him with many of the red carpet trends we continue to see today.

NEW YORK (AP) — Bob Mackie, the fashion designer whose visually provocative Hollywood style defined glamour for the 1970s — including putting Carol Burnett in some of her kookiest getups and Cher in her raciest ones — died Monday. He was 87.
"He lived his 87 years to the fullest, fulfilling his dream of being a Fashion and Costume Designer, which is all he ever wanted to do," a read statement on his social media accounts. "His genius and extraordinary designs will live on forever, continuing to bring beauty into this world."
Dubbed the "Designer to the Stars," Mackie won nine Emmy Awards, a Tony Award and was nominated for three Oscars, including one for Barbra Streisand's "Funny Lady," in which she wore a sheer batwing gown. He was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Science's Hall of Fame in 2002.
He designed gowns for Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Sharon Stone, Diana Ross and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and concert costumes for Pink. When Marilyn Monroe delivered a breathy, seductive take on "Happy Birthday" at a fundraiser for President John F. Kennedy and the Democratic National Committee, she did it in a sheer, beaded gown that Mackie dreamed up in a sketch.
His influence can be seen in the styles of Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. His archival pieces are worn today by the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy, Miley Cyrus and Zendaya, the latter who wore a Mackie gown to honor Cher at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. When Taylor Swift wanted to look like a showgirl on the cover of her 2025 album "The Life of a Showgirl," she turned to some Mackie originals.
