Wide receiver Deuce Alexander exited the game late in the third quarter. He was helped to the locker room after outrunning the defense on a long touchdown pass.
Alexander has two 62-yard touchdown receptions and has 144 yards and two touchdowns. He is known for is speed and for being the fastest Ole Miss player. After his touchdown, he laid down on the sideline and received attention from trainers before being helped to the locker room.
Alexander did not return on Ole Miss subsequent offensive drive.

The Seattle Seahawks have a new injury concern just days before opening the 2026 season against the New England Patriots.
Starting safety Ty Okada did not participate in practice, according to Seattle's Week 1 injury report. No injury had previously been publicly identified for Okada, making his absence one of the more noteworthy developments on the Seahawks' first report ahead of Wednesday night's opener.
Twenty-four hours earlier, Mike Macdonald had been mum about giving any injury updates during a press conference, noting Sunday's official reporting would suffice.
The report did not list a game-status designation for Okada. The injury column shown on the initial report also did not specify what kept him out of practice.

After weeks of delays and behind-the-scenes attempts to cobble something meaningful together, UFC 332 in Salt Lake City, Utah finally has a championship main event: Natalia Silva vs. ****** Cong for the vacant women's flyweight belt.
Wait, what? The flyweight belt that Valentina Shevchenko has defended a whopping nine times since 2018 across two ****** le runs? That's now vacant? When announcing Silva vs. Cong, they cited a "Bullet" injury but didn't really get into details on how the belt was put back up for grabs. A statement from Shevchenko's coach Pavel Fedotov gave a bit more info.
"We were supposed to fight on October 3 against Natalia Silva, but due to an injury to the ligaments in the shoulder and back, we decided not to push things and postpone the fight," Fedotov wrote (via Ushatayka). "Given that the recovery will take a long time, we've made the decision to temporarily vacate the belt, and once she recovers, she will fight for it again."
According to Fedotov, they're expecting the injury to take eight months to recover from.
In the past, you might expect to see an interim ****** le go up for grabs after similar injuries taking under a year to heal. But these days, the UFC has gotten into the habit of asking its injured champions to relinquish their belts. Jamahal Hill did it when he ruptured his Achilles tendon, and so did Jiri Prochazka when he injured his shoulder. Now we've got Valentina Shevchenko doing it.

Roger Goodell reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension, the league announced Sunday. The deal runs through March 2031 and would mark 25 seasons with Goodell in charge, if he completes the contract.
The compensation committee headed by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft informed the full ownership regarding the extension. The memo, reviewed by Sportico, said the committee worked with a third-party compensation consultant and outside counsel to "structure a deal that aligns Roger's compensation with the League's long-term interests and success." The value of the deal was not disclosed, but the memo stated that it is bonus heavy with more than 95% of the total compensation tied to Goodell's and the NFL's performance measured against certain metrics.

Little more than 20 years after he signed his first contract to be the Commissioner of the National Football League, Roger Goodell has put his name at the bottom of the newest one.
The NFL announced on Sunday afternoon that the league's Compensation Committee has informed the full membership that an agreement has been reached on a four-year extension. Goodell is now under contract through March 31, 2031.
His prior deal would have expired in March 2027. With few if any obvious successors in play, Goodell had plenty of leverage.
In the memo to all owners, a copy of which PFT has obtained, Patriots owner Robert Kraft explained that the Committee "worked closely with an independent third-party compensation consultant and outside counsel to structure a deal that aligns Roger's compensation with the League's long-term interests and success."
The contract ties 95 percent of the total compensation to Goodell's and the league's "performance measured against various metrics and at the discretion of the Compensation Committee."

Surrounding yourself with a bunch of yes-men is not a recipe for success—at least according to AT&T CEO John Stankey. Instead, he wants employees to come to meetings prepared to share their ideas and perspectives—not simply sit back and listen.
"I love discourse," Stankey said in a recent joint interview with JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon hosted by LinkedIn. The telecommunications executive added that one of the principles in his company's cultural documents is to not show up to meetings without having done your homework.
"Don't walk in there and just be an observer," Stankey said. "When you have a point of view, it shouldn't just be some uninformed opinion. It should be a point of view that's built on facts, information, and data. I crave that."
If employees aren't willing to speak up—or don't have a constructive point to make—Stankey suggested there may not be the right people in the room.
Dimon has similarly emphasized the importance of making sure meetings are both necessary and productive. Leaders should create an environment where employees aren't afraid to disagree or raise uncomfortable issues in meetings—even if that means putting the proverbial "dead cat on the table," he said.

Wall Street sees a blowout jobs report and spiking Treasury yields as another sign that the Fed is going to have to hike rates to clamp down on inflation.
The US economy added 162,000 jobs last month, blowing past economists' expectations. If the Fed was looking for clues of a slowing economy, this report wasn't it.
"They're a little bit behind the curve," Joe Brusuelas, RSM chief economist, told Yahoo Finance, in reference to the central bank. "They're going to need to hike rates if they want to reinforce their credibility, and that's going to cause a lot of problems at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."
The Trump administration has been pushing hard for lower rates to bring borrowing costs down and flatten the yield curve, with the president threatening a trade embargo if they don't.

Pakistan's troubled England tour has taken another unexpected turn, with the Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly taking mobile phones belonging to members of the national team into its custody ahead of the third and final Test at Edgbaston.

According to Pakistani 365 News, the players' devices have been handed over to the PCB and will remain with the board until the conclusion of the final Test. The report did not reveal the identities of the players whose phones were taken, while the PCB has not publicly stated why the devices were placed in its custody.

The development has raised questions about the extent of the authorities' powers over players' personal devices, particularly regarding when phones can be seized, retained or accessed and what safeguards apply to private communications.
Mobile phones are already subject to strict restrictions in international cricket, particularly inside areas designated as restricted during matches.

Under the ICC's Player and Match Officials Area regulations, players and support staff are not permitted to possess or use mobile phones or other communication devices inside restricted areas, including dressing rooms, during an international match.

Players are expected to place their devices in secure storage before entering such areas. The primary purpose of these regulations is to protect the integrity of international matches and prevent unauthorised communication.

However, those match-day restrictions are separate from a situation in which a player's personal phone is retained for an extended period.

The ICC Anti-Corruption Code gives authorised anti-corruption officials considerably broader powers when a formal integrity investigation is underway.

Under the code, an authorised anti-corruption official can make a written demand requiring a participant to surrender a mobile device or allow investigators to copy or download information from it when there are reasonable grounds to believe the material could be relevant to an investigation.

The information potentially covered by such a request is wide-ranging. It can include telephone and internet records, text messages, WhatsApp conversations, photographs, videos, audio files and other electronically stored documents.

Participants can also be required to provide passwords or access codes needed by investigators to obtain the relevant material.

A failure to comply with a legitimate demand during an anti-corruption investigation can itself result in disciplinary action.
Despite the ICC's provisions, the reported decision by the PCB to take possession of the players' phones does not, by itself, establish that an anti-corruption investigation is taking place.

There has been no confirmation that the PCB's action in England is connected to an integrity investigation involving corruption, betting or match-fixing. No player has been publicly accused of an integrity offence either.

Ethan Pecko entered his fifth inning Saturday unscored upon but with a reliever warming behind him in the Houston Astros' bullpen. Three batters later, his outing ended. Nootbaar occupied the leadoff spot in the Diamondbacks' lineup and was facing Pecko for a third time in the game. His single put the potential tying run on base, brought manager Joe Espada out to remove his starter and reinforced an issue within Houston's rotation with 19 games left in a postseason race.
Two of five starters the Astros are deploying - Cristian Javier and Pecko, the right-handed prospect - are under tighter reins, with Houston hesitant to have them face opposing lineups a third time. Javier hasn't faced more than 19 batters in any of his past four outings, one of which he pitched in bulk relief.
Having three starters who will work deeper - Hunter Brown, Peter Lambert and Hayden Wesneski - can mitigate that usage somewhat. Despite Florida football opening the season with a strong offensive performance, the Gators missed one of their key transfer players.
Florida's eventual 66-21 rout over Florida Atlantic was played without wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr.
Singleton was sidelined for the game after a player fell on him while setting up a block for Vernell Brown III's 49-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
Singleton never left the sidelines, and remained fully dressed out for the duration of the game.

Florida football came into the season opener against Florida Atlantic relatively healthy. While Saturday night's result was ideal, the Gators are now dealing with a few injury concerns to follow heading into Week 2.

It's been a season of big changes for the Colorado Rockies, and tonight is no different. According to Woody Paige of the Denver Gazette, ******* and Charlie Monfort may be planning to sell even more of the team to the Penner Sports Group, who joined the ownership group in April by purchasing 40% of the club.
Paige writes, "According to multiple sources, the Penners and Waltons intend to take over the 30-season-old club when and if Major League Baseball returns sometime in 2027." They are looking to purchase 35% more of the team, bringing their total ownership stake to 75%. However, the Monforts will likely remain on as minority owners, keeping around 20%, according to Paige.

Sept 5 (Reuters) - A federal appeals court panel rejected the Trump administration's bid to lift a ban on ‌using a federal immigration database to check the accuracy ‌of citizenship records on states' voter rolls.
In a 2-1 ruling on Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia declined to lift a lower court's ban on using the Homeland Security Department's Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements database. The earlier ruling ‌determined that the government ⁠cannot use the system ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, in which Trump's Republicans ⁠will be defending narrow majorities in both chambers of Congress.
Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan and U.S. Circuit Judge Robert Wilkins, both appointed to the appeals court by President Barack Obama, upheld the lower ‌court decision that the SAVE system violates the Social Security Act as it shares millions of Americans' private information. The appeals court judges also noted concerns around the potential for inaccurate citizen information that could lead to people having to prove ‌citizenship to remain registered voters, and in some cases could even lead to voter registration being canceled.
U.S. Circuit Judge Gregory Katsas, an appointee ‌of President Donald Trump, dissented.
A federal judge in Florida in July ordered the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to resume giving four Republican-led states access to the database after another ‌judge blocked it from continuing to use the database nationwide.

Artificial intelligence companies are racing to secure one increasingly valuable resource: computing power.
That race has resulted in massive investment in Nvidia (NVDA) processors, data centers, and power. It has also spawned a new breed of specialist cloud providers promising to provide the infrastructure necessary to train and operate ever more advanced AI models.
Now firms are putting a stunning amount behind that demand.
U.K.-based AI infrastructure firm Nscale is telling potential investors that it has about $103 billion in total contracted revenue, according to documents reviewed by The Information and cited by Reuters. The Nvidia-backed startup might launch an initial public offering as early as September.
However, the headline figure comes with a crucial caveat.

The delay was announced at approximately 5:25 p.m. CT — kickoff originally was scheduled for 6 p.m. CT — meaning the start still could be relatively close to schedule if no other lightning strikes are detected in the area. The teams will still have to have some warm-up time once the delay is over.
