Dakota Johnson opened her third turn hosting Saturday Night Live on Oct. 3 by talking about her love life, starting with her "two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians."
Then her "literal therapist" walked out.
It was Taylor Swift, and she turned down the job on the spot.
"I'm not your therapist, actually," Swift told her. "You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some."

The dollar index (DXY00) fell from a 7-week high on Friday and finished down by -0.03%. The dollar gave its advance on Friday on weaker-than-expected US economic news that showed Aug manufacturing production and Aug leading indicators unexpectedly declined. Also, Friday's -1% fall in WTI crude oil eased inflation expectations and could persuade the Fed to loosen monetary policy, a bearish factor for the dollar.
The dollar initially moved higher on Friday on weakness in the yen, which fell to a 2-week low today. Higher T-note yields on Friday also supported the dollar. The dollar also has carryover support from Wednesday when the FOMC raised interest rates by 25 bp and signaled another rate hike by the end of the year. The dollar fell from its best level after US

Freight fraud risks and carrier vetting are the focus as Highway Chief Commercial Officer Michael Caney joins FreightWaves Today. He breaks down what brokers, carriers and shippers need to watch right now when onboarding and monitoring capacity. If you work fraud prevention, carrier compliance or network procurement, this conversation gets straight to the operational takeaway without the fluff.#FreightFraud #CarrierVetting #SupplyChain
Carrier-vetting platform Highway is putting its balance sheet behind its fraud-detection product: if a broker moves freight using Highway's guarantee standard and loses a load, Highway writes a check for $100,000. The company's chief commercial officer said the program covers the vast majority of carrier capacity in North America — and has paid out only once across roughly one million loads.
Of the approximately 175,000 carriers that move freight for freight brokers, Highway says more than 82% qualify for the guarantee tier. "What I would tell you is the industry keeps trying to solve for the bottom 18% of the market," the CCO said. "And what we're saying is if you will just move your freight to this cohort of carriers, which is the majority of capacity in North America, not only will you be fine, but Highway will stand behind it with a performance guarantee."
"The average cargo theft is not the $100,000, it's $250,000. This idea that a motor carrier can just show up and say, hey man, I'm gonna need this cargo, it's $250 grand, I'm good for it, is bananas."
The single payout to date stemmed from an identity-design flaw tied to California's non-domiciled limited-term licensing rules. A fraudulent carrier obtained a new license through California's process, resubmitted in Highway's system, and the alert dropped off before the bug was caught and fixed — costing Highway $100,000. The CCO described theft events as a "Swiss cheese" of compounding decisions rather than a single failure point, and said Highway continuously monitors for ownership changes, inbox compromises, and cyber anomalies within the guarantee framework.

Dallas, Tarrant, and Collin county records show 1,197 commercial and multifamily loans totaling $13.3 billion maturing over the next 12 months, with another $12.5 billion in loans already past their maturity date.
Only 3 of the 1,197 forward-maturing loans carry a recorded distress filing, underscoring how little of the real risk shows up in public records before a loan actually fails.
The wall stems from two colliding loan vintages: roughly $4.3 billion in 2016-2017 peak-era loans and $2.6 billion in short-term bridge debt originated since 2025.
DFW loan maturities over the next 12 months total $13.3 billion, according to a county-by-county read of deed of trust records by Circlemark. That's on top of $12.5 billion in loans that have already passed their stated maturity date and remain open. Circlemark, which reads scanned county clerk instruments rather than relying on servicer-reported data, calls its own $13.3 billion figure a floor, not a ceiling.

Legacy West apartments average $1,845 a month, a 9% premium over comparable Dallas properties that's smaller than any other demand pocket RealPage tracks, yet the submarket needs the fewest concessions to stay leased.
The pocket posted 95.5% occupancy in the second quarter, two points above the Dallas metro average, anchored by roughly 12,000 corporate jobs from employers including Toyota, JPMorgan Chase, and Frito-Lay.
Because Legacy West's strength rests on continued corporate expansion rather than a larger price premium, its durability depends on employers in the Plano-Frisco corridor keeping up their hiring pace.
Apartments in Legacy West command the smallest rent premium of any demand pocket in the Dallas metro, yet the submarket needs fewer concessions to stay full than any of its peers, according to RealPage. The corporate-anchored district straddling the Plano-Frisco border averaged $1,845 in effective rent in the second quarter, a 9% premium over comparable metro properties. That's the smallest premium among the demand pockets RealPage tracks across Dallas, even though Legacy West's occupancy and leasing strength outperform them.

Oil futures have been rising, but recently hit a peak. ConocoPhillips (COP) reported strong Q2 earnings on Aug. 6, and COP stock may be fairly valued. However, shorting COP puts and vertical put credit spreads are attractive alternatives for value investors.
COP closed at $137.35 on Friday, Sept. 11, a recent three-, six-, and 12-month peak. That followed WTI Oct. futures contract (CLV26) spiking above $104 late Thursday, Sept. 10.

The market clearly believes that Conoco's Q3 earnings and cash flow will be strong, given how high oil and gas prices have been this quarter. Barchart's CLV26 chart below shows the recent peak in oil futures.
Oil has been rising due to ongoing tensions and kinetic action between the U.S. and Iran, as well as in other areas in the Middle East where oil is transported.

Michelle Pfeiffer may be one of the most famous actresses in the world, but she's not afraid to go bare-faced on social media.
The beloved actress, 68, whose first starring film role was in Grease 2, rose to fame in legendary films like Scarface and Dangerous Liaisons. She later became a household name as Catwoman in Batman Returns. In recent years, she's earned tremendous acclaim as First Lady Betty Ford in The First Lady, and recently starred in the Amazon Prime Video Christmas movie Oh. What. Fun. Now dominating the networks with both Margo's Got Money Troubles and The Madison, the star is reigning supreme in Hollywood.
Despite her international fame, Pfeiffer manages to stay humble. Unlike many Hollywood queens, she has no hesitation to go makeup-free on social media. Looking bare-faced and beautiful in a fun selfie from pottery class, the film icon went completely natural without a stitch of makeup. AND she managed to successfully make something!

It's not often that we use "high yield" and "tech stocks" in the same sentence. However, some of the legacy software and consulting companies have joined the league, thanks to the drawdown in their stocks amid "AI-pocalypse" fears. With artificial intelligence (AI) looking to automate coding and back-office tasks, the "man-hours" model that IT services firms rely on could be at risk. Accenture (ACN) is among the names that have been in the penalty box amid fears that AI would cause large-scale business disruption for the sector. However, such fears have eased, and legacy tech companies, which were considered net AI losers, have jumped sharply from their lows. Looking at some specific stocks, Adobe (ADBE) and Salesforce (CRM) have respectively risen 54% and 76% from their 2026 lows, while Accenture has soared 60%.
Despite the rally, Accenture still has a dividend yield of 3.4%, which is well ahead of the S&P 500 Index ($SPX) average. The company has a long history of paying dividends and started paying a semi-annual dividend in 2005, eventually transitioning to quarterly dividends beginning in 2019. It has increased its payouts every year since its initiation, with an impressive annualized growth of 11.1%. Last year, the company raised its quarterly dividend by 10.1% to $1.63 per share.

Caitlin Clark remains at the center of an intense national debate regarding the league's Most Valuable Player award. While attention recently shifted toward Team USA during the international break, the awards race continues generating massive online discussion. Las Vegas forward A'ja Wilson remains the leading candidate, but the Indiana point guard has gathered tremendous public support. However, one passionate supporter recently took his advocacy to extreme lengths.
WNBA reporter Khristina Williams publicly called out former collegiate basketball player John O'Maley for harassing her inbox. The media personality revealed that the executive repeatedly flooded her email with detailed statistical breakdowns supporting the star rookie. Williams requested that he cease sending messages after receiving five separate emails within a single two-hour window.
She directly addressed the relentless email campaign on her public timeline to set firm boundaries. Williams wrote, "Pleeeease stop sending me emails, John!!!" She later clarified her frustration by adding, "I deleted the tweet. But seriously, stop! I received five emails in a two-hour span today, and multiple emails last month."
Traditional sports fans always value objective media evaluations over relentless personal lobbying. True hoops purists recognize that voters must evaluate the entire season without outside pressure. Harassing sports journalists' inboxes distorts legitimate award conversations and creates unnecessary friction. Respecting professional boundaries remains essential for everyone involved in sports media.
O'Maley is a West Point graduate who previously played collegiate basketball under legendary coach Bob Knight. The corporate executive built an extensive, source-linked comparison arguing that the Indiana guard deserves first-place MVP votes. He noted her impressive scoring efficiency, high usage rate, and transformative impact on the franchise's overall offensive output.

As Utah begins the Morgan Scalley era, optimism is high in the football facility.
There are many unknowns as the Utes embark on the 2026 season. How will the rebuilt offensive line and defensive line fare? Can Kevin McGiven's offense reach the highs of Jason Beck's? As head coach, how will Scalley manage the whole team (not just the defense), make critical in-game decisions like whether to go for it on fourth down, and handle the ***** ps in the road that inevitably pop up during a college football season? How will Colton Swan do as defensive coordinator?
In spite of all of the unknowns, Utah is still considered in contention for a spot in the Big 12 championship game, though solidly behind Texas Tech and BYU in the eyes of the oddsmakers, thanks to returning quarterback Devon Dampier, running back Wayshawn Parker, a wide receiver room that could be the best Utah has had in a while and returning starters in the secondary and at linebacker.
How does the 2026 schedule stack up for the Utes?

Bitcoin hashprice has recovered to about $39.06 per PH/s/day, up more than 43% from its June low near $27, as bitcoin's price moved toward $80,000 and network difficulty eased, according to data from Luxor's Hashrate Index.
The Aug. 22 difficulty adjustment reduced the mining threshold by 1.31% at block 963,648, according to Mempool data. Difficulty fell from 127.48 trillion to 125.81 trillion, leaving it just 0.7% above the 2026 low of 124.93 trillion reached in June.
The decline was in line with the flat-to-down-1% move expected before the retarget. It also erased the prior epoch's 0.99% increase and was Bitcoin's tenth downward adjustment of 2026, against seven increases.

Lower difficulty increases bitcoin production per unit of active hashrate, ***** uming price, fees and operating costs remain unchanged. The latest move is modest, making bitcoin's price rally the main driver of the hashprice recovery.

Trepp counted $12.1B of performing securitized office loans with cash flow below debt service, out of $97.2B reviewed.
Free rent explains $1.46B of the well occupied balance, with 280 Park Avenue accounting for $1.075B.
Floating rate debt and elevated operating expenses sit behind most of the rest.
Trepp reviewed $97.2B of performing securitized office loans and found $12.1B that cannot cover their own debt payments. None of those loans are delinquent. The unexpected part is where that balance sits. More than two-fifths rests on buildings that are at least 80% occupied.

Keeping your email inbox under control can feel like a full-time job in itself—with endless streams of messages making it difficult to separate what actually matters from the noise. Roland Busch, the CEO of Siemens, has a decisively minimalist approach: skipping email etiquette in favor of efficiency.
"I try to keep my inbox below 100. If you have more than 100 emails in your inbox, you lose the overview of what's actually on your plate," Busch told Business Insider. "I accomplish this by answering messages quickly and using a few words."
Oftentimes, those few words are simply "OK" or "No."
"I make it simple and fast. My team is trained to communicate this way. If I need to write something longer, I dictate my response while walking through the office."
That same emphasis on efficiency extends to how the 61-year-old manages his time with his direct reports. Rather than scheduling recurring one-on-one meetings, the leader of the $256 billion German engineering company—No. 143 on the Fortune Global 500—keeps his door open and lets his executives come to him when they need to.
