REDDING, Calif. — Clint Curtis thinks something doesn’t smell right in Shasta County. Literally.
As the registrar of voters for this Northern California community, Curtis was both election administrator and candidate this summer. After he lost, he certified the results as “full, true and correct.”
He nonetheless harbored doubts. Some ballots smelled too inky, he said. Some seemed too heavy. Some felt too rough.
He stashed the ballots in a storage room, slapped a padlock on the door, ordered subordinates to destroy the keys and reported his suspicions to President Donald Trump’s administration.
In another place or era, Curtis’s concerns would be dismissed as kooky. But in Shasta County in 2026, they have been taken seriously enough to spur FBI agents to show up with bolt cutters so they could take a look.

Sabrina Carpenter brought playful charm and vintage romance to Bernadette Antwerp's latest knitwear campaign. The singer posed for the brand's Instagram page wearing a soft green knit mini dress. Choosing a daring, open-back silhouette, she commanded instant attention with her effortless take on countryside style. Her striking floral-knit look highlights the label's signature charm while making a memorable style statement for the brand.
For the shoot, Sabrina Carpenter wore a green Bernadette Antwerp knit minidress as she posed on a wooden porch overlooking a lake. The fitted bodice featured white daisy embroidery across the chest and shoulders, along with a bow at the back of the neckline. The open-back design extended from her shoulders to her waist before wrapping around the hips. The dress finished with a short hemline. The "Espresso" singer completed the outfit with a white crochet headscarf tied loosely around her head. Her blonde hair fell in loose waves beneath the scarf.
Carpenter leaned against the porch railing while glancing back over her shoulder for the camera. For the brand's photoshoot, she stood framed by greenery and a quiet lake view, striking a relaxed, sun-drenched pose. Ultimately, the dress gave Carpenter's outdoor shoot a breezy edge, with no major jewelry or accessories competing with the dress's standout cutout.
Carpenter constantly redefines playful, girl-next-door style with her signature charm. She easily transforms a demure floral knit into a surprisingly daring moment. Clearly, the soft green fabric caught the golden evening light with every pose. She effortlessly combines delicate embroidery with a dramatic cutout and relaxed countryside styling. Undoubtedly, Carpenter delivered one of Bernadette Antwerp's standout campaign looks. She continues to show how to wear vintage-inspired knitwear with effortless allure.

Awards show red carpets may be the perfect place to scout the latest formal fashion trends, but they're also major predictors of jewelry fads. We can tell a lot about what accessories might be coming back into fashion based on what ice the A-listers adorn themselves with, and at the 2026 Emmys, a few jewelry trends were abundantly clear. Being a distinguished and prestigious event, the Emmys naturally attracted high-end jewelry style made up of diamonds, other rare gems, and curated pieces from the world's top jewelry houses.
Necklaces are often the first accessory to catch the eye, and this year's show was full of loud, bold, and over-the-top designs that brought all the drama and then some. The common thread through all of 2026's jewelry trends is clear: Quiet luxury is out, and celebrities have taken note. TV stars like Nicole Kidman, Sarah Pidgeon, and Lisa Rinna had all eyes (and camera lenses) on them as they graced the carpet in eye-catching pieces that made it their business to be unforgettable. The Emmys also saw the return of a few more vintage-coded jewelry trends that are perfect for older women in 2026, from classic earring styles to long-adored gemstones straight from the sea.
Many of the biggest stars on the red carpet demonstrated their style expertise by flawlessly rocking more than one of these jewelry trends at once. With these pieces showing up on multiple famous faces — and sometimes layered with each other to create the ultimate style moment— there's no doubt that they're officially the trendiest high-end jewelry movements of the year.

Helfstein estimates META needs 115 million paying Muse subscribers at $20/month to unlock $28 billion in AI revenue, but doubts it happens.
META's Q2 operating margin collapsed from 43% to 31%, while full-year capex guidance soared to a range of $130 billion to $145 billion.
Just released. Our ******* ysts combed the entire stock market and named the ten best stocks to buy right now, and Meta didn't make the cut. Enter your email to see the names that beat METAPLATFORMS. The report is free. Enter your email and see if any of your stocks made the cut.
Jason Helfstein, Oppenheimer's Managing Director and Senior ******* yst covering the Internet sector, laid out a striking scenario in a September 2026 note: Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) would need roughly 115 million paying Muse subscribers at a $20/month price point to generate about $27.5 to $28 billion in annual AI agent revenue. His conclusion, however, was skeptical. For long-term investors, the math frames just how high the bar is for Meta stock to earn a consumer-AI premium on top of its advertising engine.

GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) is one of Jim Cramer's favorite stocks. Throughout 2025, the CNBC TV host continued to heap praise on the firm. Cramer's praise came at a time when new-age nuclear power and quantum computing stocks were experiencing strong gains. Throughout this period, he continued to **** ert that GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) was the only nuclear firm with a stable delivery timeline and the capacity to deliver. In his morning appearance on the 15th, Cramer discussed the recent dip in shares and worries about a slowdown in the AI buildout:
"One company, GE Vernova, which was hit incredibly hard, which actually builds these, was saying they're seeing an order acceleration. So I really doubt the idea there's going to be a decel. Now that stock got hammered yesterday, it's been a horrendous stock since we started getting this political controversy. But again I point out that you just hear no one say anything about pullback."
For GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV), as perhaps indicated by the share price movement, the narrative is driven by its backlog and overall exposure to AI's power generation demand. On this front, CEO Scott Strazik, another Cramer favorite, outlined during the firm's second quarter earnings that data center orders of $5 billion for H1 2026 had already doubled over the full year 2025 figures. Additionally, during Q2, the firm's total orders touched $24 billion to mark an 88% growth driven by its Power and Electrification segment. As a whole, GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV)'s Q2 revenue grew by 22% annually, while its overall backlog and electrification backlogs sat at $176 billion and $446 billion.
At the same time, with GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) also relying on gas turbines for its business, the debate is also about whether exposure to AI can remove the inherent cyclicality in the business. Additionally, with data centers accounting for 40% of the Electrification business's orders, any slowdown in capex spending by big tech players could generate tailwinds for GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV). Similarly, while the data center business is booming and the gas generation business remains tied to prices and interest rates, the firm's wind business is a drag and expected to hurt the bottom line throughout 2026.
In Q2, 106 out of the 1,006 funds tracked by Insider Monkey had held a stake in GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV), which marked a dip over the 118 out of 1,022 funds in Q1. Whether the dip was due to the order mix and AI sentiment or due to profit taking, your guess is as good as ours. On the valuation front, GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) trades at a forward P/E ratio of 35, while short interest as a percentage of float is 3.29%.

The FOMC began a new interest rate cycle, raising the federal funds rate a quarter point on Sept. 16. Wall Street traders expect at least one more rate increase before the end of 2026.
The federal funds rate. The Fed. The FOMC. No doubt you've heard and read these terms before. But what do they mean? How does this impact your financial life?
The federal funds rate is the interest rate the government sets for one bank to charge another bank for ultra-short-term loans, usually just overnight. It's actually an interest rate range. Banks negotiate a specific rate with each other within that range set by the Federal Reserve.
The current federal funds rate is now 3.75% to 4.00%.

GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) is trying to recover after an 8.5% decline, with Bernstein defending the stock as "wired to win" and highlighting that data centers account for only 38% of its electrification order book. This supports the argument that the company's utility exposure extends beyond AI power demand alone. That diversification is a real consideration, but it does not directly address the concern raised by GLJ Research. The firm's Sell rating is not based on doubts about AI-driven power demand. Instead, GLJ Research argues that GE Vernova is still a fundamentally cyclical gas-turbine manufacturer, while its current valuation reflects an **** umption that the ongoing boom can remain permanent.
GE Vernova shares stabilized after an 8.5% decline triggered by GLJ Research's new Sell rating and broader concerns that a slowdown in AI spending could weigh on the company's order book. Bernstein **** yst Sunaina Ocalan directly challenged the view that GE Vernova's outlook depends mainly on AI infrastructure spending:
While data center orders were $5 billion in H1 2026, or about 38% of electrification orders, the remaining 62% was utility-driven. Utility spend should continue to grow, supported by grid reliability and resilience investments. A slowdown in data center demand may alleviate generation bottlenecks but would do little to address existing grid constraints.
Bernstein continues to rate the stock a Buy with a $1,298 price target, while nearly 80% of **** ysts covering GE Vernova also have a Buy rating. In a separate development, the company announced a wind turbine supply agreement with Eurus Energy Holdings in **** an.
GLJ Research's Gordon Johnson argued that GE Vernova's turbines being sold out does not justify the stock trading at roughly 38.9x forward EV/EBITDA at the time the report was released. Johnson described the company as "a cyclical gas turbine manufacturer priced as a secular compounder," highlighting the premium valuation placed on a fundamentally cyclical business. His model estimates 2027 EBITDA at $7.42 billion, which is 22% below Wall Street consensus. The lower forecast is partly based on the timing of turbine orders, as equipment scheduled for 2027 delivery was ordered in 2024, before the company introduced its more recent price increase.

He was the sole holdout on a 12-person jury who otherwise voted to acquit Lindsay Clancy of murdering her three children — frustrating the defense and causing a mistrial.
After seven days of deliberations, and with specific instructions from Judge William Sullivan to follow the letter of the law on reasonable doubt, the jury said it still had one holdout who refused to budge. A mistrial was declared on Sept. 4.
Now, the lone juror, named Michael Desronvil, has come forward to share his side of the story, saying that he "didn't have any doubts" that Clancy was criminally responsible for the killings.
In a statement shared with Yahoo on Sept. 18 by his attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik, Desronvil said: "I didn't have any doubts. As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence presented.
"Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presented, I thought it was enough proof that she (Clancy) knew exactly what she was doing and planned."

A Federal Reserve rate hike is largely priced in for Wednesday, but JPMorgan says the S&P 500 could still swing anywhere from 1% higher to 2% lower depending on how Chair Kevin Warsh frames the move.
A surprise decision to hold rates steady could prove painful. JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) estimates the index could fall 1.25% to 1.75% if the Fed leaves rates unchanged.
Polymarket traders put the chance of a 25-basis-point hike at 89% Wednesday morning, compared with 11% for no change, with roughly $193 million traded on the decision.
JPMorgan argues that an unexpected hold could raise doubts about the Fed's willingness to contain inflation, potentially pushing longer-term Treasury yields higher as investors demand more compensation for inflation risk.

Alluvium **** et Management, an **** et management company, released its "Conventum – Alluvium Global Fund" second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. The second quarter reflected a sharp shift from geopolitical uncertainty and oil market volatility to a powerful equity rally led by semiconductor companies. Despite the broader market strength, the Fund declined 1.4% in EUR terms, 2.2% in USD terms, and 3.9% in AUD terms. Portfolio results were mixed, with Alphabet benefiting from strong Cloud growth, while Robert Half, H&R Block and other holdings posted solid gains. In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Conventum – Alluvium Global Fund highlighted Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK). Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) is a communication services company that provides a range of data, wireless, video, voice, and managed services. GCI Liberty, Inc. rebranded to Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) in May 2026. On September 15, 2026, Liberty Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:GLIBK) closed at $25.55 per share. This perfectly aligns with Liberty's GCI operations. We understand Quintillion generates around USD 55-60m in revenue and USD 30m in free cash. Citi has begun coverage of the newly listed The Magnum Ice Cream Company (EURONEXT:MICC, LSE:MICC, NYSE:MICC) with a lukewarm "neutral" rating, warning that the maker of the eponymous chocolate-coated lollies faces a tougher year ahead after a **** per summer.
The broker set a target price of €17.7 on the shares, arguing that kind weather and solid delivery on cost cuts have already pushed Magnum's valuation up to broadly match its European food peers, leaving little room for further gains.
Citi's central doubt is whether the good times can last. A durable re-rating, it said, takes more than one strong season, and history suggests companies leaning on cost-saving stories rarely hold on to lofty valuations for long.
Several clouds loom over next year. The broker flagged the risk that El Niño weather patterns push up ingredient costs in the second half of 2027, which could expose how sensitive take-home ice cream sales are to price rises.
It also cited the spread of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs as a potential drag on demand, alongside the usual uncertainty over weather comparisons.

A day after a disappointing outcome at the Solheim Cup, U.S. captain Angela Stanford has a new gig.
Stanford has joined the TCU women's golf team as an ***** istant coach.
TCU's website said: "The greatest player in TCU women's golf history is back in purple and white."
Stanford, who is from nearby Saginaw, Texas, about 15 miles away from Ft. Worth, was a four-time All-American for the Horned Frogs from 1996-2000, the only four-time All-American in program history. Stanford holds the school record for wins with 10.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Angela Stanford back home to TCU as our third coach," said TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin. "As one of the most decorated and respected figures in golf history, her transition from a legendary professional career to our coaching staff is a monumental moment for our program. Angela's elite competitive experience as a major champion, combined with her leadership as a U.S. Solheim Cup captain, will provide our student-athletes with unparalleled mentorship. She embodies what it means to be a Horned Frog, and her passion for TCU will undoubtedly elevate our team to new heights."

Congressional Republicans have a plan to pass key portions of the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act before the end of this year.
The election integrity bill backed by President Donald Trump and fiercely opposed by Democrats has stalled in Congress, where Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., has been reluctant to call it up for a vote, given that it's all but ***** ured to fail.
At least several Democrats would be needed to reach the Senate's 60-vote threshold to break a filibuster. But left-wing lawmakers in the House and Senate have panned the legislation as an attempt to sow doubt in U.S. elections at best and voter suppression at worst.
Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is now pushing Republicans to pass the bill's main mandates via the budget reconciliation process, which allows the party in power to pass sweeping fiscal policy without input from the minority due to its sidelining of the Senate filibuster. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., chairman of the Committee on House Administration, is tasked with overseeing how that part of the bill gets done.

Since his debut in 2018, Ronald Acuña Jr. has been one of baseball's most exciting players. His power-speed combo has made him one of the sport's best players. In 2019, Acuña fell just short of the elusive 40/40 club. In 156 games, he tallied 41 home runs and 37 stolen bases, which led the National League.
He was on an MVP trajectory in 2021. In 82 games that season, Acuña had a .990 OPS with 24 home runs and 17 stolen bases. Unfortunately, everything changed on July 10 when he tore his ACL attempting to make a leaping catch at the wall down in Miami. During his first three and a half seasons, Acuña was on the fast track to the Hall of Fame. His injury not only slowed that down, but it also raised questions about whether he'd ever be the same again.
The Braves eventually won the World Series, but Acuña was sidelined and could only celebrate from the dugout. Still, though, he received a World Series ring on Opening Day in 2022. He would return to action on April 28 against the Chicago Cubs. However, it was clear that Acuña wasn't the same player. In 119 games, he only hit 15 home runs, and his OPS dropped to .764—the worst mark of his career. It seemed he would never be the same again, but Acuña quieted the doubters with one of the greatest individual seasons in MLB history.
Acuña didn't just make history; the Braves did, too. In 2023, Atlanta finished with the best record in MLB (104-58). That year, they tied the MLB record for home runs in a season (307). Three players, including Acuña (41), hit at least 40 home runs that season. In 2023, MLB also made a slew of rule changes, including making the bases 18 inches. The extra three inches, along with the new pickoff rule, were meant to influence more action on the base paths.
Acuña took full advantage by stealing 73 bases that season. In the process, he became the first, and only, player to hit at least 40 home runs and steal at least 70 bases. Along the way, he also became the first and only player to hit at least 30 home runs and steal at least 60 bases.

After their late loss to Sassuolo last night, it is becoming increasingly difficult to see Juventus finishing inside the top four at the end of this season, according to pundit Roberto Pavanello.
The Bianconeri have been one of the top teams in the world for several decades and have done well to maintain that status, but since they last won the league ******* le in 2020, they have been far from achieving that feat again.
One thing Juventus have consistently managed to do is secure Champions League football, but last season they failed to achieve that. Many believed their failure was linked to the quality of their squad and the fact that Luciano Spalletti did not start the season as their manager.
He has now been given a new deal for another season and was their coach during pre-season, yet Juventus cannot beat Sassuolo in their fourth league game of the season.
It is certainly too early for the team to be struggling as much as it is at the moment, but their poor start has already created doubts about what they can achieve this season.

Ex-OL mocks viral Sonny Styles video after Commanders LB trucks Saquon Barkley for sack appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Washington Commanders were inconsistent on offense during Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, just as many anticipated, but fans got to see one player exceed the expectations that a large portion of the public had set for him. After getting roasted for a perceived lack of strength during preseason play, which was captured via video, rookie linebacker Sonny Styles displayed eye-catching power in Philly.
The former Ohio State star bowled over 2024 Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley before sacking Super Bowl 59 MVP Jalen Hurts. Retired offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz was quick to taunt the doubters following the thunderous play.
"So maybe that preseason week 1 'film review' mocking Styles wasn't indicative of how he might play in the regular season," the NFL ******* yst and podcast host quipped.

Ole Miss football AD accuses Lane Kiffin of 'manipulating' players, coaches appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
With Lane Kiffin's departure from the Ole Miss football program to the LSU Tigers still talked about to this day, despite being two games in with his new team, there is no doubt about the ripple effects left by the coach. As the showdown between the Ole Miss football team and LSU comes underway this Saturday, the Rebels' athletic director Keith Carter kept it real on Kiffin's time with the school and his rocky exit.
Speaking to On3 Sports' Chris Low, Carter reflected on Kiffin's six years with the Rebels, as there's no denying the success that the controversial coach brought, totaling a 55-19 record and amassing four double-digit win seasons.
While Carter said that Kiffin was "good for us" during that time and emphasized the mutual relationship they had, his "problem" was trying to "manipulate the players and the coaches on his way out and work behind the scenes to hurt us."

Chargers news: NFL ***** yst tries making sense of LA's 'horrific' Cardinals loss appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Chargers suffered undoubtedly the most shocking loss of the Week 1 NFL slate by dropping a home game to the (seemingly) lowly Arizona Cardinals. The Chargers entered this game as the biggest favorites of any team this weekend but ended up losing by a score of 26-14, with Mike McDaniel's new-look offense never getting off the ground.
On Monday, NFL ***** yst Kevin Clark of ESPN stopped by The Dan Patrick Show and tried to explain what went wrong with Los Angeles.
"This is as bad as it gets. You want to talk about offseason hype, the Chargers, it's every year… You can't lose this game. You can't have Jim Harbaugh saying that Justin Herbert's going to go down as the best quarterback in history and then lose to the Arizona Cardinals… this was horrific, and it just seemed disjointed. It seemed like not a Jim Harbaugh team," he said, per Dan Patrick Show on X, formerly Twitter.

Sydney Sweeney has been busy. A lot of it you get to see; HBO ended Euphoria with a third and final stranglehold on the timeline, and word recently hit that Netflix's live-action Gundam, which Sweeney stars in alongside Noah Centineo and an ensemble cast, wrapped filming in Australia. And while we have no doubt that you've seen her the new "Just Sports" campaign she has launched with Novig—the first campaign from the 21+ sports prediction market—what you don't see is the work that Sweeney puts into projects like this, where she isn't just the face on the brand; she's an equity partner, putting together pieces of this campaign while away in Australia filming Gundam.
"Because I've been a part of the creative conversations from the very beginning," Sweeney shared with Complex via phone, "I had built an amazing relationship with everyone involved, and I was really excited to get to set."
"It can be kind of isolating when you're away for that long," Sweeney continued, "so being able to have my entire glam team come down, and my team who I've been with for almost a decade—they're like my family—it was really exciting to be able to see them again."
COMPLEX SHOP: Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Uncover what's next. Buy. Collect. Obsess.
Sweeney calls the "Just Sports" campaign "a very simple and playful idea," aimed to "really bring the concept of 'just sports' to life," and the spot really does get to the heart of what Novig is all about. Novig's vision is truly just sports, with "a marketplace designed around transparency and efficiency" that is built by sports traders, for sports traders. Sweeney says that this was a true collaboration.

NEW YORK (AP) — Oprah Winfrey stood alone at the Sphere, attempting to comprehend what she had witnessed after U2's opening night performance in 2023. Mesmerized by the multisensory event, the Queen of All Media had a thought: Could she use the groundbreaking, 4D capabilities of the globe-shaped arena to help others reach their highest potential?
"You could use this technology as a visual, immersive experience to allow people to go deeper for themselves and walk away with a sense of awe and wonder about what it means to be alive," the media mogul, whose empire was built largely by inspiring viewers of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," told The ****** ociated Press. "I know that there's more, and the more could really help people see themselves differently. It has the potential to be an incredible experience of magnificent wonder."
That initial thought became "Oprah Winfrey's AHA," taking place April 2-4 at the Sphere, the $2.3 billion state-of-the-art Las Vegas arena that has hosted performances by The Backstreet Boys, Phish, the Eagles and No Doubt — and a popular "The Wizard of Oz" film experience.
The two-hour live event will feature Winfrey with special guests and performances, including multiple Grammy winner Jacob Collier, poet and author Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet and gospel singer Wintley Phipps. Among all-star collaborators crafting the experience with Winfrey are Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter, Grammy-nominated musicians Jason White and Jon Hopkins, playwright and MacArthur "genius grant" recipient Tarell Alvin McCraney and Es Devlin, the stage designer for Beyoncé's "Formation" and "Renaissance" world tours. It's been 15 years since Winfrey ended her iconic talk show, which last week celebrated its 40th anniversary of reaching U.S. syndication. She has stayed busy with her podcast, her CEO duties for her namesake OWN TV network, and various tours and live events. At 72, when many are embracing retirement, Winfrey isn't ready to slow down completely.

Well, that was fun until it wasn't.
Ohio State was up and in control of what would have been a massive win for its College Football Playoff résumé, but then the game plan turned into a grinding of gears instead of the team popping the clutch and continuing to go out on the open road and run away into the night.
The result? The Texas Longhorns scored 21 unanswered points to enjoy what they will no doubt consider an epic comeback. Buckeye fans will think the opposite, and for good reason. A game profile that should never go in the loss column did just that because of some curious decisions and gameplay in the second half.
After each game, we like to look back and see what kind of lessons we might have learned about Ohio State, and things tend to be a little more negative after a loss, but that's life in the big city.
Here are five things we think we learned after Ohio State's collapse in the Texas night.

Ryan Garcia left no doubt. After a heated build-up between two of boxing's biggest names, the reigning WBC welterweight champion delivered a devastating performance Saturday night inside of Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena, needing less than two rounds to dispatch Conor Benn and successfully defend his belt in a statement performance.
After controlling the opening round, Garcia ended matters in spectacular fashion early in the second, uncorking a massive right hand that sent Benn crumbling to the canvas. Benn managed to beat the 10-count, but Garcia immediately swarmed his wounded prey and unloaded against the ropes until the referee mercifully stepped in to stop the bout.
Afterward, Garcia (26-2, 21 KOs) called for WBA welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez to join him in the ring, teasing the possiblitiy of a massive unification clash next. Benn (25-2, 14 KOs), meanwhile, suffered the first stoppage loss of his pro career.
Unsurprisingly, as is often the case with anything Garcia does, Saturday's result instantly set the boxing world ablaze, prompting a flood of fellow fighters to gush over Garcia's spectacular performance on social media — and eliciting a healthy amount of revelry from Benn's critics. Chief among those critics was Chris Eubank Jr., who couldn't help but chime in with a roast of his longtime rival following their two-fight series in 2025.
Welcome to the ’fighting after cutting too much weight’ club… Enjoy

Fundstrat's Tom Lee took the Future Proof Citywide stage earlier this year with CNBC's Scott Wapner for a session that landed in the middle of a jittery tape that included geopolitical conflict, oil spiking, private credit cracking, and fresh doubts about AI spending. Not too far off where we find ourselves currently, but with an awful lot of volatility and shifting, uncertain outlooks between these six months. While their conversation was a snapshot in time, you can expect more of this kind of sharp, thoughtful ****** ysis next week.
The contrarian take of the session was oil. High crude, Lee argued, is actually constructive for U.S. equities. With the U.S. as a net exporter, our economic competitors are importers, and stalled global growth pushes investors toward growth stocks, which is about 80% of the U.S. market. On AI CapEx, he pushed back on the sticker shock, claiming roughly $700 billion a year is a fraction of the $60 trillion global labor market and small change against daily moves in gold.
Lee also made the case that software had bottomed at the time, that enterprises building their own tools inherit the maintenance burden software companies exist to carry, and that private credit is genuinely bad but not a GFC repeat, with the real fix being taking private companies public rather than pushing private product into retail portfolios. On crypto, his argument shifted from a perspective of digital gold to one of plumbing whereby Wall Street tokenizes ****** ets, and AI agents needing a settlement rail that handles fractions of a penny.
His parting advice was the oldest one in the book, dressed in new clothes: miss the 10 best days of each year and a 16% average return goes to roughly nothing. Danger and opportunity show up together. Staying invested is the perpetual drumbeat of advisors to their clients, but one that needs banging louder when markets feel much less certain.
Future Proof Festival is September 14–17 in Huntington Beach and includes four days on the boardwalk with advisors, ****** et managers, and fintechs building the modern wealth management industry. Find us at the ETF Oasis and don't miss the stellar agenda we've got lined up.

AVAV stock has plunged 40% in a year despite a historic $464M Army laser contract and a record $1.5B funded backlog.
AeroVironment's LOCUST laser cuts drone intercept costs from millions to under $10 per shot, backed by 300 cartel drones already downed at the southern border.
Nawabi sold 28,265 shares at $139 while ***** ysts set a $226 average price target, leaving investors to weigh insider doubt against a 47x forward P/E.
Just released. Our ***** ysts combed the entire stock market and named the ten best stocks to buy right now, and AeroVironment didn't make the cut. Enter your email to see the names that beat AVAV. The report is free. Enter your email and see if any of your stocks made the cut.
AeroVironment (NASDAQ:AVAV) chairman and chief executive Wahid Nawabi went on CNBC this week with an arithmetic problem for defense investors. Drones being thrown at Western militaries and border installations cost roughly $150,000 apiece, according to Nawabi, while the interceptors historically used to knock them down cost millions of dollars per shot. His pitch is that AeroVironment's LOCUST directed-energy laser, per Nawabi, brings that engagement cost down to less than $10 per shot.

The I-35 Rivalry returns to San Marcos, as Texas State football hosts UTSA on Saturday in a clash between two of Texas' biggest midmajor programs.
The Bobcats' rise has coincided with increased success against the Roadrunners. Head coach GJ Kinne has led Texas State to two straight wins over UTSA and his former mentor, Jeff Traylor, after a 20-13 loss in Kinne's debut year. The Bobcats handed the Roadrunners a 49-10 drubbing last time they met in San Marcos, and Traylor made it clear in the days leading up to the game that he hasn't forgotten that embarrassment.
MORE: Is Texas State football or UTSA favored? The I-35 Rivalry's keys to victory
Although Texas State was thoroughly outmatched against Texas in Week 1, there were a few positive takeaways. There is no doubt in the offense led by quarterback Brad Jackson and his dynamic wide receiver duo of Chris Dawn Jr. and Beau Sparks, but the defense left a lot to be desired. UTSA quarterback Owen McCown and running back Will Henderson will test how effective Texas State's offseason changes were in improving the unit that has been its kryptonite the past three seasons.
Traylor adjusted his offseason approach, bringing in veteran transfers and a new offensive coordinator. UTSA kept things vanilla against UTRGV last week and will likely have some nasty surprises for Texas State. Here are live updates from the I-35 Rivalry.

The New England Patriots may need to address their edge rusher unit after another injury landed on Harold Landry's doorstep to begin the 2026 NFL season.
The Patriots have a productive unit when healthy, led by Landry and Dre'Mont Jones, with rookie Gabe Jacas expected to produce meaningfully for the team. However, more may be needed.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox labeled Maxx Crosby and Kayvon Thibodeaux as being two star edge rushers that the Patriots ought to trade for in 2026, in the event that they pursue a player to fill their needs in the trade market.
"If another team comes calling about Crosby, the Raiders will undoubtedly listen," Knox said. "They're in the early stages of a rebuild and may not be ready to contend while Crosby is still in his playing prime. The asking price will be high, but teams that believe they can chase a Super Bowl are bound to target him before November 10."
Crosby is a superstar edge rusher who has the talent to take New England over the top in the Super Bowl race. Giving up draft picks and a player or two will do the Patriots much good to stack their roster with Drake Maye, A.J. Brown, Christian Gonzalez, Romeo Doubs and Crosby as the heaviest-hitters on their team.

Sep. 12—CADDO — It's been a long time coming for the East Lawrence Eagles.
Over the past five years, the Eagles (3-1, 2-0) haven't put together more than three wins in a single season.
But just four weeks into this year, and they're already there.
With a 34-6 win over Oakman on Friday, East Lawrence has won three straight and got its second win in Class 3A, Region 5.
"We're hungry. There's so much excitement in that locker room," East Lawrence running back Chantler Bolding said. "People always doubt us because of our past, and we're changing that."

After coming back to Santiago Bernabeu with heaps of promise and an excellent loan spell at Lyon, Endrick's season hasn't really unfolded the way he was hoping for.
The Brazilian international's progress has been slowed by injuries and a lack of game-time. The fact that Real Madrid have landed on a brilliant deal by signing Carlos Espi doesn't help things either.
All of these factors have led to question marks over Endrick's future, with AS Roma credited with interest in the forward in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to English commentator Feargal Brennan (h/t Defensa Central), Jose Mourinho could reconsider his position on Endrick's future when the winter market opens.
