Adolfson & Peterson has tapped John Herrera, a company veteran who joined when he was a teenager, as its next chief operating officer, according to a Tuesday announcement from the builder.
In his capacity as COO, Herrera will focus on leadership across the Minneapolis-based firm's national operations, per the announcement.
Prior to his appointment, Herrera served as the regional president of AP Mountain States, which includes Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. He will remain based in Colorado during his tenure as COO.
The appointment comes amid a broader executive shuffle at AP that began early last year when the firm tapped Brad Hendrickson as its COO in March 2025. Less than a year later, then-CEO Jeff Hansen announced his retirement, with Hendrickson lined up as successor.

Kohberger is working to undo his guilty plea to the 2022 Idaho murders.
The family of Bryan Kohberger is supporting his efforts to challenge his 2025 conviction, saying in a statement exclusive to ABC News, "Our full support of Bryan’s decision to pursue post-conviction relief does not come from a place of disregard.”
Kohberger, who is currently serving four consecutive life sentences for killing four college students in Idaho, said in his petition that the circumstances of his plea deal are now suspect because, among other things, he was “convinced to falsely confess” to a crime he says he did not commit.
“My actual innocence is my truth, and the plea, hinged on by false promises and blatant disinformation, MUST be withdrawn,” he said in a statement to the New York Times last month.
Kohberger's family told ABC News that they did not want their support of their son "to compound the unimaginable grief the families have borne so courageously."

Two of the biggest figures when Utah took the Rice-Eccles Stadium field Thursday night for its 2026 season opener were starting quarterback Devon Dampier and head coach Morgan Scalley — for obvious reasons.
Dampier is back for his senior year, and after dealing with injury during a successful 2025 campaign, he has his sights set on a memorable season. And more importantly, he's healthy.
Scalley, meanwhile, became the sixth straight Utah head coach to win the first game of his first full season as coach, as the No. 21 Utes rolled to a 66-14 victory over FCS opponent Idaho.
There were plenty of smiles from Utah fans, coaches and players throughout the night, as the Utes kicked off the new era in style.
"He was like, 'Y'all, we've been doing this for months now, so just go out there, do what you do. We're all going to make mistakes, but at the end of the day, forget it, move on to the next play,'" Dampier said of Scalley. "Just the way he carried himself definitely brought a different impact to us."

Utah picked right back up where it left off last season, delivering a dominating performance on the ground in a 66-14 win against FCS opponent Idaho Thursday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
The Utes set school records in rushing yards (3,462) and rushing touchdowns (41) behind a dominant offensive line in 2025, and they started 2026 at the same pace.
Wayshawn Parker led the way on the ground for Utah, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown on 12 attempts while hauling in three passes for 23 yards and two touchdowns.
The three-touchdown night was a career high for the junior running back and served as a glimpse of what he can do as the undisputed lead back this year.

LEXINGTON, Va. (WFXR) – Facing Virginia Tech for the first time since 1984, the VMI football team will renew the all-time series with the Hokies after a 42-year hiatus.
VMI looks to bounce back from last week's 38-10 loss to Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho. The Keydets trailed just 10-0 at halftime, but the Bengals pulled away in the third quarter with four touchdowns en route to the win.
Virginia Tech is eager to start the season under First-year Head Coach and former Penn State Head Coach James Franklin, who takes over a team that finished 15th in the ACC last season with a 3-9 record overall and 2-6 mark in conference.
Although the landscape of college football has changed dramatically since 1984 – the last time the two schools played each other – the Keydets do own 25 all-time wins in the series dating back to 1894.
The Hokies have won the last three matchups which were played in 1982, 1983 and 1984. The last time the Keydets took down the Hokies was November 21, 1981, a 6-0 win in Blacksburg.
The Keydets (0-1) and Hokies (0-0) will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Lane Stadium.

Yes, there is such a thing as a good 5-5 start – at least for now, considering how insane it is to try figuring out all these teams with mostly new players.

What's so good about it? Going 3-2 yesterday was fine, and over the first two runs, one loss was that horrific Hawaii beat against Stanford, another came in the final seconds of Illinois-UAB, and then there's the whopper – thinking Rutgers would destroy UMass. Historically shocking whiff, cap tipped, moving on.

There aren't many options for the Friday games, but let's force down an appetizer before the smorgasbord on Saturday.

Last Week's Results: 5-5
– All the Week 1 Picks
– Week 1 Expert Picks
Line: Point Total 46.5
ATS Pick: Under

This is one of those picks to see if we have our in-season game legs early on. Seriously, feel free to ignore this one, because it's a little dangerous.

Both teams have new coaching staffs, new ideas, and wholesale personnel changes. That, and 46.5 isn't all that hard to hit – the original call to make this one of the games was when the total was 49.5.

Again, I'm flying a bit blind here, but it's Pat Fitzgerald with a pieced-together team. It'll be about the defense and running game. Mike Jacobs' Toledo side will keep the chains moving and the clock rolling. This should be a good, tough fight.
– Toledo vs Michigan State Game Preview
Line: Kansas -41.5
ATS Pick: Kansas

It's a small sample size, but one key mini-trend isn't shocking – with the exception of Buffalo against Albany, FBS teams are annihilating the FCSers.

Utah 66, Idaho 14
UCF 73, Bethune-Cookman 6
Missouri 54, UAPB 14
Delaware 42, Merrimack 7
Kennesaw State 47, West Georgia 0 (I LOVED this and chickened out yesterday, not making this one of the five best picks)
Minnesota 59, Eastern Illinois 7

I never change our call on the predicted final score in our game previews unless something insane happens, but Kansas big at home against LIU – partly because it'll likely go full throttle for a full 60 minutes – was the call from the start. If anything, we were probably too conservative on what the Jayhawks will do.
– LIU vs Kansas Game Preview

Sticking with that FBS blowout over FCS thing …
Line: Purdue -35.5, o/u: 55.5
ATS Pick: Purdue

There's no need to do a deep dive here. Purdue has a brutal schedule ahead, it's been a rough run over the last few years, and the coaches will keep pushing because the program has to set a new tone. Purdue beat Indiana State 49-0 in 2024, and Indiana slipped past the Sycamores by 73 last year.
– Indiana State vs Purdue Game Preview
Line: Point Total 47.5
ATS Pick: Over

Two things are in play here. First, the Stanford defense didn't look like anything special once the Hawaii offense got rolling in the 37-27 Cardinal win. There's a real chance Miami takes care of most of the total on its own.

Here's the second part – the line is 24.5. In the six games last year when Miami won by more than that, all but the 38-7 win over Pi

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Devon Dampier threw for three touchdowns, Wayshawn Parker had the first three-touchdown game of his career and No. 21 Utah routed Idaho 66-14 coach Morgan Scalley's regular-season debut.
After 21 years at Utah, Kyle Whittingham moved to Michigan to make way for Scalley, the previous defensive coordinator who coached Utah's win over Nebraska last season in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Parker ran for 71 yards had two touchdown receptions and a 21-yard TD run, where he shed several tacklers, all in the first half.
Dampier, who was hampered by injuries last season, looked nimble and was accurate (13 for 18) except for some long-distance throws. He sat after the first drive of the second half — with Utah leading 38-7 — but still had 176 yards passing and 31 yards rushing while staying clean in the pocket.
Transfer wide receiver Braden Pegan dazzled with the hands and his feet — scoring on a 7-yard reception and a 12-yard end around. Backup QB Byrd Ficklin threw for 93 yards and two TDs and ran for 70 yards.

All last weekend, my kid told me that it was going to be Labor Day that next Monday. I kept telling her no, it was next Monday. I mean, like 10 or 12 times. Then I told this to the wife. She was very quiet, then asked "it's not Labor Day tomorrow?" Because she kept telling our kid it was, then I kept breaking her heart. So if you're broken hearted to hear that there's no game today, I apologize.
What is going on then? The Brewers and Cubs are kicking off shortly. The Cubs are 9 back of the Brewers, but they're not out of it. The Cardinals can complete a sweep of the Dodgers at 10 pm Eastern.
The mutant form of college football is going on tonight as well. Missouri and Utah look poised to devour their opening week cupcakes of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Idaho, respectively. That's going on at 7pm and 8pm.
Are you guys and gals going to the beach? Ima sit at home and broil myself. The next trip we take will be either to a sick relative's or to Atlanta for a playoff game. Hopefully, the family can pull through and the Braves can be victorious.
Do we want to debate what the Braves playoff position will be? I'm thinking the Braves might slide into that #2 slot if the Dodgers keep slipping up. Let's go take care of Philadelphia first.

Sep. 2—MOSCOW, Idaho — Losing to fellow Big Sky Conference member Cal Poly, 38-34, on a final-seconds touchdown pass on 4th and 8, in the season-opening game was a rude shock for Idaho, which, based on its 5-0 all-time record against the Mustangs and Cal Poly's recent reputation as a Big Sky speed ***** p had pretty much penciled this in as a win.
The defining game for the Vandals this year was supposed to be the home clash against defending Football Championship Subdivision Montana State Oct 2. But now the Vandals are already in damage control mode, needing to make a good showing against Football Bowl Subdivision Utah on Thursday to convince themselves, more than anyone, that they are a good team, better than their 4-8 record last year and their season-opening stumble, and still harboring hopes of making the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. This is all on Idaho. Utah has nothing to prove other than it can handle an FCS team.
Here are three things to watch when the Vandals and Utes collide.
1. Have the Vandals got their defense fixed?
Against Cal Poly the defensive line was regularly pushed off the ball. Idaho could not mount much of a pass rush or hold an edge against Mustangs' quarterback Anthony Grigbsy, who threw for four touchdowns and ran for 62 yards and another score, and Cal Poly's 197 rushing yard and 319 passing yards point to Idaho's shortcomings in tackling and pass defense. Linebacker Cruz Hepburn's 12 tackles and a pass breakup were notable. However, the Vandals can't give up 516 yards of total offense again against any opponent, let alone Utah, and expect to have much of a season.

Week 0 is here, and the first game of the day will feature North Carolina vs. TCU in Dublin, Ireland. Both programs will be down a few players, while the Tar Heels are without defensive coordinator Steve Belichick.
But the Horned Frogs will be without their star playmaker. According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, WR Jordan Dwyer made the trip to Dublin, but he will be inactive for the game against the Tar Heels.
Dwyer, a former Idaho standout, transferred to TCU ahead of the 2025 season. With Josh Hoover throwing the football, who is now at Indiana, Dwyer was the No. 2 WR on TCU last season. He caught 54 passes for 730 yards and seven touchdowns.

On August 20, 2026, Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said artificial intelligence has fundamentally altered the memory industry's historically volatile boom-and-bust cycle, telling CNBC's "Mad Money" that "today there is no AI without memory."
Mehrotra said data-center customers currently want roughly 50% more supply than Micron can commit to delivering. The firm has signed five-year strategic agreements with more than 16 customers to lock in demand, up from the number disclosed on its late-June earnings call. Micron is backing that outlook with a planned $250 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing through 2035, including two new fabs in Boise, Idaho. It separately unveiled a $10 billion Micron Research Labs initiative, endorsed by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Demand is running well ahead of what Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) can physically supply. Data-center customers want about 50% more memory than Micron can commit to, a supply-demand gap severe enough that all its customers across our end markets will buy everything that it makes. That kind of shortage, rather than oversupply, is the opposite of the environment that has historically crushed memory prices.
Long-term contracts are replacing the spot-market exposure that drove past boom-bust cycles. Micron has signed five-year strategic agreements with more than 16 customers who have "committed to taking the supply." It gives Micron real visibility into future demand instead of relying on volatile spot pricing that has wrecked memory margins in past cycles.
Micron is backing its confidence with capital, not just commentary. The firm's $250 billion U.S. manufacturing commitment through 2035, plus a separate $10 billion Micron Research Labs investment, signals a multi-decade bet on sustained AI-driven demand. The research initiative's endorsement from customers as significant as Nvidia and Apple lends outside credibility to that bet.

The final game of the Seattle Seahawks' 2026 preseason is just hours away, and once the game ends it'll be all about forming the 53-man roster and 16-man practice squad for the regular season.
Seattle wraps up its August on the road versus the Kansas City Chiefs, whom they'll be seeing in the regular season at Lumen Field at the end of October. There will be no starters playing for the Seahawks and highly likely the same will apply to the Chiefs, so it's one last chance for players who are just trying to make the team.
NFL preseason television rights are different than regular season, so we're here to simplify tonight's situation. KING-5 NBC, Seattle's flagship station for Seahawks preseason games and other local Seahawks television programming, is carrying Seahawks-Chiefs locally. KING-5's broadcasts are also shown on other television affiliates in the Seahawks' secondary markets, which include Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. Then there are mobile and online streaming options whether you're in Seattle, somewhere else in the USA, or overseas!
Here's a quick How to Watch guide.
On Friday, Aug. 28 at 5 pm PT, with pre-game coverage on KING-5 starting at 4:30 pm PT.

BZZR has reached another streaming agreement, this time with the Los Angeles Rams, as the upstart free streamer eyes further expansion.
The Los Angeles Rams announced an agreement with BZZR to make the service its local preseason streaming home. According to Sportico, all three preseason games will stream free to fans in California, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, as well as in Australia and Mexico. Rams preseason games will also continue to air on local television.
The agreement is a first for an NFL team with a streamer, as teams were only allowed to stream preseason games directly to fans this season. BZZR believes that gives it a leg up in the free sports streaming ***** e.
BZZR was launched without much fanfare in April 2026. But it really burst onto the scene in July, when the Texas Rangers moved their direct-to-consumer streaming platform to BZZR after financial issues at the prior home: Victory+.
The launch drew criticism from some fans because BZZR initially lacked apps for Roku, Samsung, and LG smart TVs. An app on Roku has since been launched.

Thinking about taking your family to a college football game in Utah this year? Be prepared to pay. How much depends largely on the opponent.
The University of Utah opens the season Sept. 3. at home against the Idaho Vandals, a Football Championship Subdivision or FCS school in the Big Sky Conference. A single-game ticket starts at $38 on SeatGeek.
But when BYU plays Utah in Salt Lake City in November, the cheapest seat starts at $331.

Aug. 20—PULLMAN — Somehow, in the blink of an eye, Washington State has all but wrapped up fall camp.
After going through a gameday walk-through on Thursday morning, technically speaking the Cougars' 13th practice of fall camp, they have just two more to go: A second and final scrimmage on Friday, then a practice on Sunday evening to complete the 15-session slate.
Across the last two weeks, WSU has solidified almost all positions on both sides of the ball, even if coaches are reticent to acknowledge how they have unfolded in public settings. They have been loath to detail the QB race, for example, but all signs point toward UC Davis transfer Caden Pinnick getting the starting nod over returners Julian Dugger and Owen Eshelman. And their starting defensive ends will be Matyus McLain and Linus Zunk, transfers from Idaho and Vanderbilt, respectively.
In fact, even with two more practices ahead of them, the Cougars have likely established their starting lineups. It's possible many of those players don't play the entirety of Friday's scrimmage, set for 11 a.m. at Gesa Field, for rest and injury-prevention reasons.
So what will they get out of the scrimmage, and what will their final practice of camp entail? Details on the latter have yet to materialize, but here are a few guesses at questions head coach Kirby Moore and **** istants might look to answer on Friday morning.

Aug. 18—PULLMAN — When ever the opposing quarterback drops back, it's not a matter of if Washington State defensive ends Matyus McLain and Linus Zunk will sack the signal-caller.
It's a matter of which one will get there first.
This was the case Monday during the Cougar football team's 10th practice of fall camp. McLain appeared to have the edge to open the week, whipping past left tackle Ashton Tripp to tally a simulated sack of sophomore quarterback Caden Pinnick; then doing it again on the very next snap.
McLain, the Priest River, Idaho native who spent the past three years eight miles east with the Idaho Vandals, has been a star of WSU's spring and fall camps — much to the delight of his coaches and perhaps to the annoyance of the offensive linemen he tries again and again.
Tripp has frequently been opposite McLain. The two have tested one another, WSU coach Kirby Moore said.

Aug 14 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge has ruled that Idaho's near-total abortion ban is unconstitutional because it provides exceptions when abortions are life-saving and not for broader risks to pregnant women's health.
U.S. District Judge ‌Lynn Winmill in Boise said in an 81-page ruling issued late on Thursday that the right to a health-preserving ‌abortion is protected by the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees due process and equal protection under the law.
The ruling is the first by a federal judge to recognize a constitutional right to abortion in certain circumstances since the U.S. Supreme Court in 2022 overturned Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that had legalized abortion nationwide, according to lawyers for the Idaho doctor who sued over the state laws.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A federal judge says Idaho can't prosecute doctors who perform abortions to protect a pregnant person's health or prevent self-harm.
U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill made the ruling Thursday, writing that Idaho's "Defense of Life Act" and "Fetal Heartbeat Act" — which together create a near-total ban on abortion — violate the due process and equal protection clauses of the 14th Amendment. Physicians who violate the laws can lose their license and face up to five years in prison.
Both laws include narrow exceptions, including abortions done to prevent the death of a pregnant woman or in some cases of rape or incest where the pregnant person has filed a police report.
The case isn't about bodily autonomy or reproductive choice, Winmill wrote in the 81-page decision, but rather the "limit of the state's power to make a woman suffer for the sake of an unborn child."
The state can't pick and choose which life-threatening conditions justify abortion, he wrote.

Aug. 15—MOSCOW — On the 14th day of Idaho football's fall camp Friday, the Vandals took their training to the outdoor practice field.
Throughout camp, senior quarterback Joshua Wood has looked increasingly comfortable in the offense that he'll be asked to lead this season.
Under second-year head coach Thomas Ford Jr., Idaho has spent the first couple weeks of camp building identity on offense, centered around new offensive coordinator Ian Shoemaker's system and Wood's ability to command it.
Ford said that Wood has been "phenomenal" throughout fall camp, and pointed to his attention to detail, improved footwork and a growing understanding of what Ford and Shoemaker have envisioned for the offense.
Plus, we'll look at the offensive line starters, with their depth, and how this year's camp feels fundamentally different for Ford in these Vandal Notes:

By the time Tallulah walked down the aisle, the Balenciaga gown had become a meeting point for family history, fashion and an extraordinary amount of craftsmanship.
