Although sports on TV continues to be a big deal for TV networks and streaming services, local sports teams TV/media rights are still an uncertain proposition.
This comes as the next chapter for the biggest regional sports network cable TV group takes another major step: Main Street Sports finally ending operations after a bankruptcy filing, and a number of years trying to find new operating solutions.
With the former Fox Sports, Bally and FanDuel Sports operations stopping, the business now asks more questions about what happens now.
Where will local Major League Baseball, NHL, and NBA teams make deals -- streaming, over-the-air broadcast, or cable?
There is some thought that perhaps much of the new business structure could focus on a "non-exclusive" basis across a number of platforms -- cable, over-the-air broadcast, and streaming.

Morgan Rogers was quick to mention one of his closest friends, Cole Palmer, when he signed for Chelsea from Aston Villa.
"We've been speaking about this for a while - that we would always love to play together," said the £117m attacking midfielder.
"He's been non-stop ringing my phone, texting me, and I can't wait. That's probably the most special thing, playing with one of your best friends and being around him every day. It's something I'm really excited about."

We take a closer look at Rogers' skillset and ****** s how Alonso might set up his side this season.

Despite roster turnover, Indiana still has plenty of pieces in place to potentially make another run. With football season mere weeks away, now's the perfect time to see the defending champions in action.

The San Francisco 49ers are likely going to be tied to a slew of free agents throughout the early portion of training camp. Wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Deebo Samuel have both come up as possible additions for San Francisco in the days leading up to camp, but don't expect the 49ers to be active in the free agent market.
An significant addition in the day or two before camp or early in camp without an unforeseen injury isn't a typical 49ers move. If they were going to take a swing for a player like Diggs, Samuel or defensive end Joey Bosa, they likely would've had that business done by now.
Instead, we're more likely to see San Francisco lean on its veterans to pick up any slack left behind by rookies and second-year players who haven't proven themselves. They'll look to Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson to produce if De'Zhaun Stribling struggles. A player like Keion White will see a bigger role if a player like Romello Height can't make an impact as a rookie.
During the John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan regime, the club has tended to bet on its own internal talent before going out and taking a swing either via free agency or the trade market.
That's not to say a player like Diggs, Samuel or Bosa couldn't help the 49ers. Adding depth, especially high quality depth, can help round out a Super Bowl roster.

The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for their second uniform release of the offseason after making subtle tweaks to their current set earlier this spring. On Thursday night at a special event for season ticket members, they'll reveal two new alternate sets that will be worn this season.
Rams players got a sneak peek at the two new alternates and they all seem to love them. The Rams have given no hints about what the uniforms will look like, but a yellow and blue jersey appeared to have leaked recently. There are also rumors that the other will be a navy and white throwback.
Based on this video, we can tell at least one of the alternates will be getting a new helmet. Matthew Stafford said "the helmet's sweet" when he saw the uniforms, so clearly it's something different.
Kam Curl also said, "I've been waiting on this to come back. I've been waiting on this." Might he be talking about a navy and white throwback?
Steve Avila had the best reaction, running out of the room in excitement.

Former Lady Vols basketball player Zee Spearman was arrested for a DUI in Lawrenceville, Georgia, during the summer before her senior season, according to a police report obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
The 6-foot-4 forward played in all 30 of Tennessee's games last season and was not publicly suspended after the incident. Tennessee did not immediately respond to a request for comment. If she was disciplined by Lady Vols head coach Kim Caldwell, it was not made public. According to USA TODAY Sports, Caldwell was aware of Spearman’s arrest when it occurred.
Unlike Spearman, a pair of two arrests in less than three months before the of start of the season, led to the dismissal of Lady Vols guard Ruby Whitehorn was acknowledged by UT.
Whitehorn was arrested on Aug. 8 in Knox County after a domestic dispute. Whitehorn faced two felony charges, but eventually pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors. Whitehorn was reinstated to the team after serving a lengthy suspension, but was later dismissed on Nov. 2 after she was charged with simple possession on Oct. 30.
Spearman was pulled over by a Gwinnett County officer at 1:10 a.m. on June 13, 2025 due to the visible speed of her Chevrolet Malibu. Spearman was driving an estimated 100 mph, according to the report, and she told the officer she was going 75 mph when she last looked. The speed limit on the highway was 55 mph.

Stephen Curry is still adding to his legacy with the Golden State Warriors, but his latest achievement will not come with a basketball in his hands. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is honoring Curry with a dedicated exhibit while the four-time NBA champion remains an active player. According to an announcement shared by the Warriors on Tuesday, "Stephen Curry: Beyond the Arc" will open Friday as part of "The Vault," an immersive gallery at the Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
Curry will become the first active NBA player to receive his own exhibit in the museum's 75-year history.
"He changed the game for good," the Warriors wrote on Instagram. "And now, he makes history yet again. Beginning this Friday, Stephen Curry will become the first active player EVER to have an exhibit at the hoophall."
It is an unprecedented honor for a player whose impact has stretched far beyond his statistics, championships and individual awards.

Jul. 15—Few people brought as much joy and happiness to those around him as did Noah Boler-Kyle.
"Whenever he walked in a room his smile would instantly light it up," former Decatur Heritage basketball coach and Noah's adopted father Tommy Kyle said. "He made everyone happy."
That sentiment seems to be held by everyone who knew him.
"He was always bigger than the room," said Jason Marshall, Noah's basketball coach at Decatur Heritage. "He was so charismatic, so funny and just treated people so well. People were drawn to him and he was always smiling."
Tragically, that smile was taken away over the weekend when Boler-Kyle died after suffering respiratory arrest due to a severe asthma attack. The former Decatur Daily basketball Player of the Year was 25 years old.

The Orlando Magic television broadcast will have a different sound to it next season.
David Steele, who called 37 seasons of Magic basketball between both television and radio, announced his retirement from broadcasting on Tuesday. The veteran play-by-play announcer served as the Magic’s television voice for 28 seasons after nine years as the team’s radio voice.
“When I interviewed with Pat Williams back in 1988, I never dreamed it would play out this way. Now it is time for me to put the microphone down and spend time with my family. It’s been an honor to represent the Orlando Magic and I am forever grateful,” Steele said in the announcement.
Dante Marchitelli will serve as the new full-time television play-by-play announcer for the Magic beginning next season. Marchitelli is in his 28th season with the Magic, most of which he’s spent in the role of a studio host and sideline reporter. For the past three season, Marchitelli has filled in for Steele on play-by-play duties. Former Orlando Magic player Jeff Turner is expected to remain the team’s television **** yst.
“Working with David Steele for the past 20 years has been the highlight of my career,” Marchitelli said in the announcement. “He is an absolute legend and I can’t thank him enough for everything he has taught me along the way. This is a dream come true and I’m looking forward to continuing my connection with Orlando Magic fans everywhere.”
