Vanderbilt football will kick off against Auburn at 3:15 p.m. CT on Sept. 26 from Jordan-Hare Stadium, with the game televised on SEC Network, the league announced Sept. 14.

Stillman Valley High School has announced the Athletic/Activities Hall of Fame Class of 2026, recognizing a coach, former student-athletes, community supporters and championship teams for their achievements and contributions to Cardinal programs.
The inductees will be honored as part of Homecoming festivities Sept. 25, according to a community announcement. The class includes girls basketball coach Bobby Mellon, former student-athletes Michelle ******* er Rogers and Dan Godfread, Friends of Athletics honorees James and Russ Elliot, the 2002-03 Scholastic Bowl Team and the 1989-90 Chess Team.
Mellon has led the Stillman Valley girls basketball program since 2010 and has compiled a 252-105 varsity record. During his tenure, the Cardinals won five regional ******* les, two sectional championships and a Big Northern Conference championship. Mellon also has earned Illinois Basketball Coaches ******* ociation District Coach of the Year honors five times.
Fager Rogers, a member of the Class of 1996, competed in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She helped two girls basketball teams qualify for the state tournament and qualified for the IHSA State Track Meet in the hurdles. Her honors included Girls Track MVP and SVHS Female Athlete of the Year.
Godfread, a graduate from the Class of 1985, became one of the school's most accomplished basketball players before continuing his career at the University of Evansville. He finished his collegiate career with 1,386 points, 737 rebounds and 226 blocked shots while earning first-team all-conference recognition.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Shane Bieber's homecoming at Progressive Field gave him all the warm and fuzzy feelings he had hoped. It was perfect — except for one thing.
He didn't get to pitch.
"I was definitely looking forward to that," Bieber said Tuesday. "But it will happen. I trust it will happen at the right time."
Bieber, who won the AL Cy Young while pitching for Cleveland in 2020, made his first trip back to face the Guardians since the club traded him to Toronto last season. The 31-year-old said it felt "odd" walking up the steps into the visitor's dugout and he was certain that watching the game from the other side would be different.
But Bieber, who's currently on the injured list with an elbow issue, was savoring the chance to catch up with former teammates, coaches and others. He spent nearly an hour on the field holding court behind the batting cage, sharing hugs, laughs and long embraces with friends he considers family.

The game that draws the most attention, the White Out Game, will be Oct. 10 when the Nittany Lions take on USC at 7:30 p.m.
For the home opener against Marshall on Sept. 5, the theme is the 11th annual "Stripe Out," where fans are encouraged to wear either white or blue depending on where they will sit.
The THON game this year will be when Penn State plays Buffalo on Sept. 19. Then, when the Nittany Lions take on Wisconsin Sept. 26, that will be the homecoming and helmet stripe game.

Police and firefighters escorted a parade of Jeeps carrying the team, as more than 100 people waiting at Legion Field cheered on the New England Regional champions.
The heartwarming homecoming softened the blow after heartache in Williamsport, Penn., where the team was eliminated from the tournament Saturday, falling to Hamilton, Ohio, 10-0.

Florida A&M has an action-packed 2026 schedule, featuring the newly hired head coach and the school's Hall of Fame quarterback, Quinn Fordham Gray Sr.
The 12-game slate includes old foes such as South Carolina State, the defending Black College Football National Champions, in Miami's Orange Blossom Classic and the Rattlers' former Atlanta Classic rival, Tennessee State, for out-of-conference games.
The Rattlers will also look to play spoiler against top Southwestern Athletic Conference teams, Alabama State and Jackson State, who are hosting FAMU for their homecoming games. FAMU's own homecoming will be against Arkansas-Pine Bluff
And Orlando's Florida Classic is not to be forgotten as FAMU seeks revenge against Bethune-Cookman after a last-second loss in 2025 in one of the oldest rivalries in football.

The Dallas Cowboys are bringing former All-Pro edger rusher and Super Bowl champion Von Miller home in an effort to help their questionable pass rush.
Multiple sources confirmed that the two sides agreed to a one-year deal on Sunday night.
The Cowboys subsequently announced news of the agreement on their social media states.
And Miller himself confirmed the homecoming on his X account and via via an Instagram post.
"Hereee Weee Gooo," Miller posted with a photoshopped image of himself in a No. 40 Cowboys uniform and a photo from high school in DeSoto, a suburb south of Dallas.
