Vanderbilt football will kick off against Auburn at 3:15 p.m. CT on Sept. 26 from Jordan-Hare Stadium, with the game televised on SEC Network, the league announced Sept. 14.
It will be the SEC opener for the Commodores (2-0), who will start off conference play on the road. Auburn (2-0) starts SEC play with a Sept. 19 contest against Florida. This will also be the homecoming game for the Tigers.
Auburn has a new coach in Alex Golesh, who was the head coach at South Florida and the offensive coordinator at Tennessee previously.
Vanderbilt defeated Austin Peay and Delaware in its first two contests, while Auburn defeated Baylor and Southern Miss.
This game had previously been designated as an afternoon game but did not get the ABC or ESPN slots, which went to Ole Miss/Florida and Oklahoma/Georgia.

There is a particular kind of quiet that follows a quarterback who hasn't needed to be loud. Marcus Washington Jr. throws touchdowns the way some kids collect grades—steadily, without much fuss, until one day the transcript is too good to ignore. The three-star, 2029 First Team MaxPreps All-American out of Cajon (Calif.), has spent this season quietly ******* embling one of the most productive stat lines in the country, and this weekend he trades the Southern California sun for the SEC's version of theater when he makes his way back to Lexington for Kentucky football's showdown with Alabama at Kroger Field.
Call it a homecoming, even if his mailing address says otherwise. Washington camped in the Bluegrass this past summer, and the visit left a mark. He is coming back not as a tourist, but as a young man doing due diligence on a decision that will shape the next four years of his life—and doing it the way the good ones always have, on his own clock, gathering information instead of chasing headlines.
THE NUMBERS DON'T WHISPER.
Whatever Washington is doing quietly, the box score is not. Last week alone he was 14 of 25 for 219 yards and a touchdown through the air, then shredded the edges for 138 yards and four more scores on the ground—the kind of two-way workload that makes opposing coordinators lose sleep and college recruiters lose their composure. Through three games this fall, he has piled up 1,176 total yards and 13 touchdowns, a pace that reads less like a high school box score and more like a mid-major Saturday.
Numbers like that don't need adjectives. They need context, and the context is this: Washington isn't just a runner who can throw or a thrower who can run. He is a West Coast problem that programs from four time zones away are now trying to solve, and Kentucky is convinced it has the answer.

Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq may have left England, but the troubles from Pakistan's disastrous tour don't seem ready to leave them just yet.

According to Geo News, the Pakistan duo have now been summoned by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over information reportedly obtained from their mobile phones. And as if that wasn't enough, both players are also set to miss the opening round of the President's Trophy Grade-I after failing to undergo mandatory fitness tests.

It has been quite the homecoming.

Rizwan and Imam were among seven players sent back to Pakistan by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following the team's heavy defeat to England at Lord's. The decision came after Pakistan's struggles in the Test series, but the drama clearly didn't end when the players boarded their flights home.
According to Geo News, the NCCIA has issued notices to Rizwan and Imam as part of an investigation involving information retrieved from their mobile phones.

The PCB had reportedly taken custody of the players' phones before handing them over to the relevant authorities. Geo News reported that Rizwan and Imam were questioned by the NCCIA for around two hours, with the inquiry reportedly linked to alleged dressing-room leaks during the England series.

The exact circumstances surrounding the investigation remain unclear, and being questioned does not establish any wrongdoing by either player. But for two cricketers who probably wanted nothing more than to forget the England tour, it is certainly an unusual sequel.
As if a cybercrime investigation wasn't enough post-tour paperwork, Geo News sources have now reported that Rizwan and Imam will miss the opening round of the President's Trophy Grade-I. The reason is far less dramatic but equally awkward: mandatory fitness-test reports.

According to the report, Rizwan's SNGPL and Imam's OGDCL did not have the required fitness reports for the two players. Under PCB rules, departmental teams must conduct the fitness tests and submit the reports before players can feature in first-class cricket.

As a result, both will miss the tournament's opening round, scheduled from September 12 to 15. Imam had been named OGDCL captain, while Rizwan was appointed vice-captain of SNGPL.

A royal expert claims Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want the "best of both worlds" with their UK move. She alleged that they want access to the royal family while maintaining their independent lives in the US. The Sussexes arrived in the country on August 26 and are reportedly looking for private accommodation outside London.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital that Harry and Markle's latest move to the UK could be more about testing the waters than a permanent relocation. She said, "I suspect they want the best of both worlds — access to Britain, proximity to the monarchy and the credibility that comes with Harry's royal identity, while maintaining the freedom and commercial opportunities they ***** ociate with life outside the U.K."
The commenter added that their current arrangement seems familiar to the "half-in, half-out" policy, which Queen Elizabeth rejected when they left the UK in 2020. She further cast doubt on the Sussexes' true plan, unable to comprehend whether they are back in the country permanently or simply want the experience of the "best of both worlds."
"Harry and Meghan never do what they say or say what they mean. One year ago, Harry told us the U.K. was not safe enough to bring his wife and children. Now someone is briefing the Daily Mail that Harry has a 15-year plan in the U.K. Alternatively, we're briefed this could be temporary," she elaborated. Schofield described their current arrangement as a trial rather than a permanent homecoming.
Recently, another royal commentator, Lady Colin Campbell, shared an update on whether the royal family would accept the Sussexes, now that they're back. She said, "The family wants absolutely nothing to do with her and as little to do with Harry as possible." She also stated that people who want to remain in the good books of the Waleses and the monarch would be unlikely to ***** ociate themselves with the Sussexes.

GREEN BAY, WI —This one wasn't nearly the laugher many predicted for Notre Dame football, but the fifth-ranked Irish eventually found their stride in a 41-13 win over unranked Wisconsin Sunday, Sept. 6.
Notre Dame (1-0) moved to 13-0 in Shamrock Series games, dating to their origin in 2009 against Washington State in San Antonio.
Successful homecoming: An emotional Green Bay homecoming ahead for Notre Dame's James Flanigan
Here is how we grade the Irish's performance against the Badgers.
As it turns out, losing a pair of first-round running backs to the NFL does impact a running game in the following season. At least it did in the first half, when Notre Dame's top trio of backs managed just 35 yards on 14 carries. Sullivan Asher replaced Styles Prescod at right guard to open the second half and made an impact as Aneyas Williams (two rushing touchdowns) got rolling after the break.

GREEN BAY, WI —Third-year Notre Dame football safety Brauntae Johnson and sixth-year defensive tackle Jason Onye headed to the locker room late in the first half with undisclosed injuries.
Johnson gave up a third-and-5 reception on the previous series that went for a 20-yard gain by Wisconsin wide receiver Eugene Hilton Jr.
Johnson missed the tackle and landed hard on his chest.
Former walk-on Luke Talich took Johnson's place at safety on the next series to close out the first half as Notre Dame held a 13-10 lead as a heavy favorite in the season opener.

GREEN BAY, WI — Notre Dame football linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (left ACL) did not participate in pregame warmups with his position group on Sunday night at Lambeau Field.
The third-year linebacker, who had been listed as questionable at the start of Wisconsin week, wore sunglasses and sweatpants as he tossed a football to his fellow linebackers along with Notre Dame graduate ****** istants.
Considered a potential high-round NFL Draft pick as soon as next spring, Viliamu-Asa suffered his second career ACL tear to his left knee in the Senior Day win over Syracuse last Nov. 22.

The North Texas Mean Green were ransacked by the transfer portal harder than almost any other college football program. After losing head coach Eric Morris to Oklahoma State, North Texas lost nearly the entirety of its production from a 12-2 team, including the nation's leading passer Drew Mestemaker and rushing touchdowns leader Caleb Hawkins.
Head coach Neal Brown, formerly of Troy and West Virginia, was tasked with reassembling a roster in Denton, TX. North Texas was one of two FBS teams returning zero starters, and instead, it brought 70 newcomers in attempt to recapture the magic of 2025.
However, the newcomer laden roster faced the ultimate test out of the gate. North Texas' first challenge was a road matchup at Indiana, immediately after the Hoosiers their 2025 National Championship banner. Indiana hadn't lost a game since 2024, and the Hoosiers' FBS-best 16-game win streak extended to 17 against the Mean Green. The reigning champions left no question in a 52-16 domination in Bloomington, IN.
Indiana made efficient work of North Texas, scoring seven touchdowns and notching one field goal on nine total possessions. TCU transfer quarterback Josh Hoover, called upon to replace Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, collected more touchdowns (4) than incompletions (3) in a 13-of-16, 231-yard passing performance. Wide receiver Charlie Becker recorded a team-high 64 receiving yards and two touchowns in the Hoosiers' third-straight season opener win under Curt Cignetti.
North Texas also debuted a transfer quarterback, bringing UCF transfer Tayven Jackson to campus this offseason. But before spending 2025 as UCF's primary starter, Jackson played two seasons at Indiana and logged six starts. Saturday marked a homecoming for the Greenwood, IN native, who registered 192 passing yards on a 22-of-28 showing. Jackson briefly exited the game with a lower-body injury, causing East Carolina transfer Chaston Ditta to take over, but he ultimately returned and finished the day for the Mean Green.

After spending six years in Montecito, California, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have now returned to the UK. However, a new report claims that their homecoming has made little difference to Prince William and Kate Middleton. The news comes as the brothers' bond remains deeply strained since Megxit, fractured by explosive interviews and claims in Harry's memoir, "Spare."
After years across the Atlantic, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK last week with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Yet a friend of the Waleses has said that the move "won't make any difference" in mending fences with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Before making their surprise comeback, the Duke and ******* ss of Sussex were seen at King Charles's Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire back in July. Royal observers interpreted the visit as a bid to rebuild relations with the royal family. It follows backlash over their media appearances and Harry's 2023 book, "Spare."
But a confidant of Prince William and Kate Middleton told the Daily Mail, "It makes no difference if Harry and Meghan are in Oxfordshire, California or Timbuktu. William and Catherine will continue their lives of public service. They intend to lead by example."
In fact, the royal heir is heading to India in November, with reports suggesting that Princess Catherine could join him. William will head to India for the Earthshot Prize in November 2026, though organizers have not yet confirmed the exact dates. While the Princess of Wales' attendance remains unconfirmed, the trip would mark the pair's first overseas visit since the Sussexes' return to the UK.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Shane Bieber's homecoming at Progressive Field gave him all the warm and fuzzy feelings he had hoped. It was perfect — except for one thing.
He didn't get to pitch.
"I was definitely looking forward to that," Bieber said Tuesday. "But it will happen. I trust it will happen at the right time."
Bieber, who won the AL Cy Young while pitching for Cleveland in 2020, made his first trip back to face the Guardians since the club traded him to Toronto last season. The 31-year-old said it felt "odd" walking up the steps into the visitor's dugout and he was certain that watching the game from the other side would be different.
But Bieber, who's currently on the injured list with an elbow issue, was savoring the chance to catch up with former teammates, coaches and others. He spent nearly an hour on the field holding court behind the batting cage, sharing hugs, laughs and long embraces with friends he considers family.

Many famous acting duos have had undeniable chemistry both on- and off-screen, going from costars to couples.
Following the series finale of That '70s Show in 2006, it would be a few years before cast members Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis reconnected at the 2012 Golden Globes and ultimately said "I do" in 2015. Though some actors have attempted to keep their budding romances and marriages low-key (looking at you, Zendaya and Tom Holland!), Yellowstone castmates Ryan Bingham and Hassie Harrison tied the knot while still working together.
From Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola's Mad Men beginnings to Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos' soap opera fairy tale, here's a look at the stars whose Hollywood love stories went beyond the set to the wedding altar.

Manchester United looked very good in the second half against Ipswich Town on Sunday, but the side's goals did not come from the forward line. Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo were the driving force behind the three goals, with the captain recording his first hat-trick in five years.
The front three of Matheus Cunha at striker and Marcus Rashford and Bryan Mbeumo on the flanks did not look poor. Cunha **** isted Bruno's first goal and Mbeumo finished an odd chip for the fifth and final goal, meanwhile Rashford had two excellent chances denied by the goalkeeper and last-ditch defending. There was balance, but it was still evidently a solution to a personnel problem.
Amad's preseason injury made the right wing options limited to Mbeumo, despite the Cameroonian's emergence as a good No. 9 option this season. Benjamin Sesko missed the entire preseason but has been fit enough to make appearances off the bench. Cunha, who typically played on the left last season, played as a No. 9 for Brazil at the World Cup and fit there with Rashford as a natural option on the left.
The options aren't bad for Michael Carrick to choose from. All three players have been flexible positionally in their careers and offer a balance of qualities. Rashford looked particularly comfortable playing with Luke Shaw again and he made a good effort out of possession to stay involved as well. He didn't get the goal his performance might have deserved, but overall it was a good homecoming.
Cunha was the only real odd fit, operating similarly to Bruno Fernandes and dropping into similar areas. It allowed the No. 10 to make good runs beyond the striker, but Cunha's lack of striker presence was felt at times, especially in the first half.

Friday practice at MotorLand Aragon produced the closest top three ever recorded on a MotoGP Friday, with Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Marquez and Marc Marquez trading fastest laps in the final minutes of a session that saw the circuit lap record fall three separate times, according to MotoGP.
Marc Marquez had controlled the running from the outset, exactly the kind of dominance his record at Aragon suggests. He owns seven MotoGP wins at the venue, and for most of the session he sat comfortably ahead of ****** le rival Bezzecchi, with Fabio Di Giannantonio in third after recovering from an FP1 crash. That control held until the final quarter of an hour, however, when time-attack runs turned the timing screens red.
Fermin Aldeguer was the first to unseat the #93 , briefly taking P1 before Jorge Martin, Bezzecchi and Pedro Acosta all fired in quick laps. Marc responded with a 1:45.493 to obliterate his own lap record. But the mark did not stand. Instead, Bezzecchi produced a 1:45.455 to ****** top spot from the home hero by just 0.038s, per MotoGP's timing.
Alex Marquez, on Gresini machinery, had been chasing throughout. He got within a few hundredths of the old record on his first attempt and was 0.273s off P1 heading into the closing minutes. His final effort was enough to leapfrog brother Marc but fell short of Bezzecchi and the top spot, leaving the two ****** le contenders separated by that slender margin at the head of the timesheets. As a result, the Marquez brothers were denied what would have been a perfect homecoming on a circuit that has long favored the family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's planned return to the UK is raising questions about what their homecoming could mean for the Royal Family, particularly their relationship with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Six years after leaving royal life and moving to the United States, the Sussexes are preparing to return with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, a decision royal commentators say could reopen old tensions.
The move has also prompted questions about whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to build an independent life outside of the UK has worked as they once envisioned.

Harry and Meghan's decision to return to Britain has sparked reactions and questions about why they left in the first place. Their 2020 departure was presented as an effort to gain greater freedom, financial independence and distance from the pressures of royal life.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing to return to Britain with their children, but new reporting suggests the move should not be mistaken for a permanent homecoming.
A source speaking to The Sunday Times said the Duke and ******* ss of Sussex could remain in the United Kingdom for six months, a year or longer before deciding where they want to live next. Canada and Australia were among the possibilities the source raised for the couple's longer-term future.
The same reporting introduced the phrase "private royals-plus" as a possible best-case arrangement in which Harry and Meghan would remain non-working, private members of the royal family but could potentially appear at selected family occasions. It is not an official ******* le, a confirmed proposal from the Sussexes or an arrangement Buckingham Palace has approved.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are due to begin school in Britain in September, while Harry and Meghan will establish a private home outside London. Their representative has described the plan more narrowly as spending "an extended period in the U.K. this autumn".
The Sunday Times report pushes back against the ******* umption that enrolling Archie and Lilibet in British schools means the Sussexes have chosen Britain as their permanent home. "It'll be an extended period of time," a source said. "It could be six months, it could be a year, it could be more. I don't think even they know yet."

Prince Harry could be heading into another challenging royal reunion, with an insider claiming the Duke of Sussex is aware that his return to the UK could bring renewed family tensions. While his recent meeting with King Charles has sparked signs of a possible thaw, the wider rift reportedly remains unresolved.
With Queen Camilla said to still have reservations about Harry, his return could put the Royal Family's willingness to move forward to the test.
Prince Harry could soon make another trip to the UK, but an insider claims he is not expecting an easy homecoming. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly aware that any progress with King Charles does not necessarily mean the wider family rift has been resolved.
That is especially true when it comes to Queen Camilla, according to the source. Harry's relationship with his stepmother has remained strained for years. His 2023 memoir, "Spare," included several personal remarks about Camilla. He also alleged that she had worked to improve her public image at his expense.
Now, an insider cited by Closer Online claims Camilla remains wary of Harry. The source alleged that her polite behavior during his previous visit should not be mistaken for a complete reconciliation. "Just because she was courteous and made nice … doesn't mean the bad blood has gone away," the insider said. They further claimed that Camilla remains "deeply resentful" about what was written in "Spare."

On a scorching afternoon in Madrid, Atlético de Madrid finally got their first weekend home kickoff of the season, with over 60,000 fans packed into the Metropolitano to welcome the Rojiblancos and properly usher in the new campaign against fellow Champions League side Villarreal.
Two penalties, a red card, and a very complicated homecoming later, Atleti walked away with a point they were truthfully fortunate to get.
Let's dive into the takeaways!
Between the heat and a lineup still finding its feet, this always had the makings of a sluggish start. Several of these players are only just back from a shortened summer, still getting reacquainted, and it showed.
For the opening hour, Atleti dominated the shooting charts on paper, outshooting Villarreal 11 to 6. But only two efforts were on target, and the underlying picture told a very different story. Villarreal had 23 touches in Atleti's box to Atleti's 19 in theirs. The visitors also created three big chances in the first half alone, while Atleti created zero. They even out-passed Atleti, 271 to 217. The Rojiblancos were a team going through the motions of control without really controlling anything.

AEW Dynamite has a Zilla Fatu problem.
For the uninitiated, Zilla Fatu is the son of the legendary Umaga. Descendent of the Anoa'i Dynasty. Future NXT champion and possible Bloodline member.
And now, an AEW Dynamite Killer?
Zilla Fatu's first advertised appearance on WWE NXT happened this week amid false claims of Bloodline Fatigue, and the result was one of NXT's best numbers of the year. WWE NXT drew 683,000 viewers with 0.14 in the 18-49 demographic. This is a surge of 16% and a whopping 56%, respectively, and NXT's best number since NXT Homecoming last September.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly eyeing a return to the UK. A PR expert has suggested a big move that could help change their image. The Sussexes first revealed their intentions to step back from their royal duties in January 2020. They officially exited in March following their remarks. However, they are reportedly planning to return to the UK.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made some explosive claims following their exit as working royals. This tarnished their image in the UK, making them the center of a backlash storm. Now, as they eye a return to the UK (via Express), PR expert Brand Shaw has suggested that a "film or documentary series" about their homecoming could help them in "winning over the public."
The expert said that they ought to be "anti-Kardashians" by answering the "hard questions." He explained, "They haven't controlled the narrative, which we've established, and they don't seem to have a narrative. Those are two different problems."
"So, not being able to communicate your narrative is a big, big, big issue," Shaw added. "It's an issue in Hollywood. It's an issue where it didn't work out. Here, it's an issue why Hollywood was able to come after them."
He advised that Harry and Meghan give "really smart" answers to "hard" questions. "Make a story that answers the hardest of hard questions anyone could possibly ask you, and use the next three to five years to refer back to that."

Tarik Skubal is coming back to Comerica Park next weekend, and he apparently won't be spending the entire series sitting in the visiting dugout.
The former Detroit Tigers ace is expected to pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers during their three-game series against Detroit from Aug. 28-30, according to a Thursday report from The Detroit News. Skubal is set to take the mound on Aug. 29 at 1:10 p.m. ET.
That takes what was already going to be an unusual homecoming and turns it into something considerably more interesting.
Skubal was traded to Los Angeles earlier this month in the blockbuster that sent outfielder Zyhir Hope and right-handers River Ryan and Brady Smith to Detroit. MLB confirmed the three-player return when the deal became official on Aug. 2.
Now Tigers hitters are going to have to deal with a problem they spent years watching other teams try to solve.

While Kentucky Basketball is focused on landing Mark Mitchell to round out the 2026-27 roster, there are a few other contenders for that final spot, namely Michigan State forward Jaxon Kohler.
On Tuesday, On3's Joe Tipton reported that Kohler was officially entering the transfer portal now that he's been granted a TRO against the NCAA as part of the California lawsuit vs. the NCAA.
Not long after, CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported that Kentucky was among the schools Kohler is now considering. Joining the Wildcats at Kansas, BYU, and Louisville.
For what it's worth, Tipton and Pete Nakos previously reported that BYU was the favorite to land Kohler, so Kentucky may just be window dressing on the list at this point. The Utah native grew up about 15 miles from BYU's campus, so this would be a homecoming of sorts if it comes to pass.
Still, if things don't work out with Mitchell, Kohler is someone Kentucky should make a run at. The 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward averaged 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game last season while shooting 38.9% from deep on 4.3 attempts per game.

August is here, which means football is near.
