GREEN BAY, WI —Third-year Notre Dame football safety Brauntae Johnson and sixth-year defensive tackle Jason Onye headed to the locker room late in the first half with undisclosed injuries.
Johnson gave up a third-and-5 reception on the previous series that went for a 20-yard gain by Wisconsin wide receiver Eugene Hilton Jr.
Johnson missed the tackle and landed hard on his chest.
Former walk-on Luke Talich took Johnson's place at safety on the next series to close out the first half as Notre Dame held a 13-10 lead as a heavy favorite in the season opener.
