The Euphoria actor has teamed up with Novig, a new platform that combines sports trading with prediction-market features and is restricted to users aged 21 and above.
But the conversation isn't about the platform, which she is the new strategic partner and equity holder for. Instead, the marketing campaign has sparked a debate about how women are represented in sports.
The minute-long ad, ****** led "Just Sports," features the Christy actress posing in nothing but strategically placed footballs, basketball hoops, hockey pads, and a pool cue. The concept is that the platform focuses on sports and nothing else.
Marissa Womack, manager of game day promotions for the Harrisburg Senators, addressed the video and its backlash in a TikTok video: "This isn't about me being jealous or insecure. It's about the fact that this is already a male-dominated field where we constantly have to prove we belong. When the only representation is ****** ualization, you see fewer and fewer young women wanting to pursue this industry."

Dana White hasn't kept his hate for Francis Ngannou private.
Once praising him as the baddest man on the planet, White quickly rescinded those comments and had a complete change of heart toward the Cameroonian. Both men fail to hide their hatred for the other, and rumors surfaced late last year of a previous physical altercation between the two, in which the former UFC heavyweight champion put his hands on the boss. Since then, their bitter feud has grown to an unprecedented extent, making it one of the most intense sagas between fighter and employer in company history.
Dana White having problems with a fighter isn't a new occurrence. He has famously feuded with many of his top stars over the years, but the Francis Ngannou problems run deep. According to White, Ngannou is blacklisted. He even sees the ***** an on the same level as Oscar de la Hoya, a man he has been at odds with for close to a decade.
Discussing his disdain for Ngannou, White turned to problems the fighter has with other promotions, hinting at his underwhelming time competing for the PFL.
"Listen, Ngannou is on my Oscar de la Hoya list," White said. "Look at the history of Francis Ngannou and the other companies he's been with. He's a bad guy, man. He's a bad guy."

DETROIT — Claressa Shields wants her next fight to be her biggest one.
And she wants it to be on the biggest stage yet.
Representatives for Shields, the undisputed "GWOAT" of boxing who remains undefeated as a professional, have had recent negotiations to stage her next bout at downtown Detroit's Ford Field. Shields would be the first female boxer ever to headline a stadium card in the United States. Promoters believe the fight could draw 50,000 fans.
"We just feel like it's the right time to make history again, to break another glass ceiling," Dmitriy Salita, of Salita Promotions, told The Detroit News on Thursday.
"We would love for this milestone to happen in Detroit, as well."

DETROIT — The Motor City Cruise — the G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons — announced on Thursday the hiring of Steve Scalzi as their new head coach. Scalzi will replace Jamelle McMillan at the start of the 2026-27 season, becoming the third head coach in the franchise's history.
Scalzi has worked as an ***** istant coach for the Pistons for the past three seasons. Renowned for his player development skills, he has been instrumental in developing players such as Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson. In July, he also served as head coach for the Pistons during the 2026 NBA Summer League tournament.
Scalzi's role as coach of the Cruise marks his return to the NBA's professional developmental league. He began his career as an ***** istant coach with the then-Tulsa 66ers (Oklahoma City Blue), the Oklahoma City Thunder's G League affiliate.

ANAHEIM — The year of change continues for the Angels.
Interim general manager John Mozeliak has been awfully busy since taking the reins in late June. In two months, Mozeliak has overseen a draft that saw the Angels select a high schooler in the first round for the first time in eight years, the first true fire-sale trade deadline in the Arte Moreno era and the firing of pitching coach Mike Maddux, as well as other members of the pitching side of the coaching staff.
And on Monday, the franchise's revitalization continued as the Angels promoted Michael Lord and Matt Swanson to ******* istant general managers, according to Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher, ahead of the Angels' series opener against the Yankees.

On August 21, Flowers Foods (NYSE:FLO) held its second-quarter earnings call, and management didn't try to spin the results. Net sales fell 4% to $1.193 billion, as a 5.8% drop in volume overwhelmed the modest gains the company squeezed out on price. Branded retail volume fell even harder, down 7.6%, and net income sank 30.3% to $40.7 million. Underneath the weak quarter, though, is a company trying to reposition itself around where bread shoppers are actually headed, even as the next few months look no easier.
Even with volume sliding, Flowers Foods still pushed price and mix up 1.8% company wide, a sign its earlier pricing moves found at least some traction in a brutal bread aisle. Management also said its comprehensive organizational review is finished and the company has moved into executing the resulting cost initiatives, aimed at a structure that's been squeezed by labor and freight. CFO Anthony Scaglione pointed to $20 million in savings he expects those restructuring actions to deliver once fiscal 2027 arrives.
The bigger swing factor is where the company is putting its innovation dollars. Chairman and CEO Ryals McMullian pointed to sourdough, a $1.3 billion category where the company admits it's still underrepresented on shelves nationally, along with protein-enriched loaves, as the two ***** es where consumer tastes are actually moving. The relaunched Nature's Own line, now carrying Non-GMO Project Verified labeling, is getting encouraging early signals from retailers and shoppers alike. Executives also expect fresh customer wins already in the pipeline to help lift results later this year, and the company still generated $241.5 million in operating cash flow year to date, giving it room to fund the turnaround while it plays out.
The near-term numbers tell a rougher story. Volume fell 5.8% across the business as the fresh packaged bread category ran into an environment where household budgets are tighter, tastes are shifting and competitors are fighting hard on price. Branded retail net sales dropped 3.8% to $794.6 million, and the company's other segment, largely store-brand products, fell 4.4% as inflation pushed more shoppers toward cheaper private label. Profitability took the harder hit. Adjusted EBITDA dropped 19.2% to $111.3 million, just 9.3% of net sales, while adjusted diluted EPS fell nine cents to $0.21.
Management pointed to weaker output levels and rising labor costs behind a 40 basis point jump in production costs to 51.6% of sales, and higher spending on its workforce, freight and marketing pushed adjusted SD&A costs up 140 basis points to 39.1% of sales. McMullian also noted that rival bakers didn't follow Flowers Foods' price increases, leaving the company facing more aggressive promotions than it had planned for. Scaglione flagged oil, diesel and packaging resin costs as ongoing risks heading into next year. All of that led management to cut its full-year outlook, with net sales guidance now set at $5.070 billion

Moses Itauma has a lot of changes to make if he's to become a boxing world champion in the future.
Itauma, 21, had the chance Saturday at London's O2 Arena to become the youngest heavyweight world champion since Mike Tyson. All he had to do was beat veteran contender Filip Hrgovic and claim the vacant IBF heavyweight world ******* le.
Despite winning the first round, knocking Hrgovic down in the second, and dominating many of the subsequent rounds with his dazzling offense and fast hands, Itauma nonetheless showed his inexperience, according to his promoter Frank Warren. He fell in love with his power and abandoned his jab, the Queensberry Promotions founder said.
Itauma (14-1, 12 KOs) ultimately punched himself out and lost in the ninth round, when he could barely stand on his own accord. He threw slower, more sluggish shots, and he was there for the taking. Hrgovic, 34, simply needed only to survive in order to claim the win once it was given to him.
"Moses started the fight really well — controlling the fight with his jab, but it didn't work out for him," Warren, Itauma's longtime promoter, said post-fight.

For the luckiest and best-executing companies, the value proposition drew consumers in.
With gas prices eating into wallets, the trade-down or value proposition of stores like Target (TGT) and Dollar General (DG) made an otherwise tough shopping choice easier to manage.
A twist this season was the impact of tariff refunds. Sure, fat checks from Uncle Sam padded corporate finances. But the refunds also brought in skepticism from investors and **** ysts. Did earnings beats and rosier outlooks stem from successful operations or the cash windfall that fell from the sky? (Or the Supreme Court, in this case.)
Even strong performances didn't automatically translate to wins on Wall Street. Walmart (WMT) and Dollar Tree (DLTR) highlighted that dynamic.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth blocked promotions of four Army officers picked for promotion to one-star rank, some of whom have ties to top Army generals the Pentagon chief ousted earlier this year, The Hill has learned.
Some of the officers pulled from the list have links to former Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Randy George, who Hegseth removed in April, and to Gen. Chris Donahue, the commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa who was ousted by the defense secretary in June, a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters, told The Hill on Friday.
"Military promotions are given to those who have earned them. This has always been the case under Secretary Hegseth and will not change." Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell told The Hill in a statement on Friday.
Earlier this year, Hegseth intervened and removed four Army officers — two women and two Black men — from a one-star general promotion list to the dismay of Army Secretary Dan Driscoll and other service branch officials, The Hill and other news outlets have reported.
Hegseth's allies have argued the Pentagon does not factor in the color of a service member's skin or their gender. The defense secretary has blocked promotions of officers in the Air Force and Navy as well, rankling former military leaders who argued the moves are an abuse of his power.

The FA Cup first qualifying round tie between Knowle and Worcester City will be shown live on the BBC next month.

PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov hasn't entered the UFC yet, but he's already talking trash about the quality of opposition he may face when he gets there.
Nurmagomedov fought the last fight on his PFL contract last month, and recently revealed he turned down a $2 million per fight offer from the organization in order to wait out the 90 day exclusive negotiation period and see what other promotions might offer him. Promotions like the UFC, where he could finally get his due as one of the best lightweights in the world.
In an interview with Sport24, Usman pushed back on the idea that the top fighters are all in the UFC.
"They say if you don't fight in the UFC, it's not the same level. I disagree with this," he said. "Just look at the guys in the UFC who sit in the top 10 and they just fight amongst themselves and keep the top ten closed. For example, Benoit Saint Denis. Won 4, lost to Dustin Poirier, lost to 'Money' Moicano, lost 3 more. Lost in 30 seconds. [Michael] Chandler. Top 15. He's there. Lost to [Paddy] Pimblett."
"[Ilia] Topuria, who praised himself endlessly, lost. Quit on the stool. Said 'I don't wanna continue.' Arman [Tsarukyan] lost to [Mateusz] Gamrot, and he lost to Islam [Makhachev]. Umar Nurmagomedov thinks his brother, Usman Nurmagomedov, can compete with the UFC's best.
Usman (22-0), who became a free agent after knocking out Archie Colgan at PFL New York last month, could be UFC bound if he opts not to re-sign with PFL. His older brother Umar raved about his work ethic, and thinks he's ready for the elite of the UFC's lightweight division – including champion Justin Gaethje.
"He's an amazing fighter, and I'm a huge fan of his," Nurmagomedov told MMA Junkie of Usman. "I like how he spars, how he works, how he does everything as a professional. And even in the cage, he shows he's a high-level fighter. I think he can be competitive with anybody in the world.
"Sometimes people think in other promotions, (they're) bad fighters, but it's not like that. For example, Shabliy is one of the toughest guys, Alexandr Shabliy. Even Arman (Tsarukyan) knows that because he sparred with him a lot. He knows how he's tough, and I think Usman can compete with anybody in the world. Gaethje, Ilia (Topuria), Arman, (Mauricio) Ruffy, anybody."
Their teammate, UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev, has openly said he wants to see Usman in the UFC. Nurmagomedov on the other hand, wasn't as direct with his opinion.

IndyCar president Doug Boles flew from Ontario to Washington, D.C., the evening of Aug. 16 with as much trepidation as he had optimism. Boles, who typically travels to the site of IndyCar's upcoming race mid-week, wasted no time getting to the nation's capital ahead of the series' second-biggest race of the year, the Freedom 250 Grand Prix.
After IndyCar and promoter Green Savoree Racing Promotions made a poor first impression – having to call off Friday's practice session – at their new street race in Markham, Ontario, it wasn't clear what awaited for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, although this race was promoted by Penske Entertainment with ****** istance from Monumental Sports & Entertainment and Harbinger.
"Honestly, I was worried just because how Canada had gone," Boles told IndyStar in an exclusive interview.

In a statement on 20 August 2026, the Directorate-General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) said Boohoo had mislabelled synthetic products as "leather," "faux leather," and "suede," breaching French rules governing the accurate description of textiles and footwear.
An investigation by the DGCCRF's National Directorate for Investigative Operations found that Boohoo failed to provide legally required information on the composition of textile products and the materials used for shoe uppers, linings, and soles.
The regulator also identified additional instances of misleading commercial practices. Boohoo was found to have advertised price reductions online that did not accurately reflect real discounts.

In a statement on 20 August 2026, the Directorate-General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) said Boohoo had mislabelled synthetic products as "leather," "faux leather," and "suede," breaching French rules governing the accurate description of textiles and footwear.
An investigation by the DGCCRF's National Directorate for Investigative Operations found that Boohoo failed to provide legally required information on the composition of textile products and the materials used for shoe uppers, linings, and soles.
The regulator also identified additional instances of misleading commercial practices. Boohoo was found to have advertised price reductions online that did not accurately reflect real discounts.
According to the DGCCRF, 40% of the **** ysed promotions offered no genuine saving, 7% provided a smaller discount than advertised, and 48% of the cases represented a price increase.
The Paris Public Prosecutor approved a criminal settlement requiring Boohoo.com UK to pay the fine to the State Treasury, which the company has done.

In an interview posted by the PFL on X, John Martin reflected onthe rivalry between Eblen and van Steenis, revealing hisdisappointment with the injury that forced their scheduled rematchto be postponed. He also recalled the chaotic scene that followedEblen's interim ***** le victory over ImpaKasanganay.
After Eblen won his fight against Kasanganay, van Steenisunexpectedly entered the cage, setting the stage for a dramatictitle unification showdown. Martin's comments suggest the promotionstill sees the matchup as a major attraction.

It was difficult to gauge where Sunderland actually stood in the summer of 1991.
Denis Smith had worked wonders to drag the club from the Third Division up to the top tier of English football in three years, but in so many ways, his progress was too quick for the club to keep up.
The promotions were achieved on a shoestring budget and were supplemented with a long list of names that Smith had brought through the ranks and fast-tracked into the first-team squad. Names such as Gary Owers, Paul Williams, Richard Ord, Brian Atkinson, Kieron Brady, David Rush and Warren Hawke were all given opportunities, and there's probably more, as those are just off the top of my head.
Smith's budget following promotion to the First Division in 1990 was set at £500,000, but it didn't include an increase in the wage budget. This resulted in one-in, one-out, so Peter Davenport replaced Eric Gates and Kevin Ball took the place of John MacPhail. It maybe didn't come as a surprise that, in a season where only two sides went down, we were one of them.
So, in 1991-92, we found ourselves back in Division Two and we were one of the favourites to go up – but without funds once again, Smith was unable to freshen up the squad and there were no new arrivals ahead of the opening day of the season.

Following his unanimous-decision victory over Orlando Brown at State Farm Arena on Aug. 15, Brandy found herself pulled into tense interaction with boxer-turned-streamer Adrien Broner. Charlamagne, clearly unimpressed, spoke out to say she has no business being anywhere near it. "I just don't like seeing Brandy in that mix," he said, characterizing the surrounding drama as a "n***a mess" — his words, not ours — according to a YouTube clip.
Brandy had shown up to State Farm Arena in support of her brother, who defeated Brown on a Salita Promotions card headlined by Claressa Shields and streamed by Zeus Network. During a pre-fight livestream, Broner accused Brandy of snubbing him after she walked into a room and greeted others before getting to him. "She just walked past me, but it's alright," Broner said on stream. In the clip, Brandy is seen acknowledging him before approaching the others in the room, including her brother.

Left-hander Andrew Sears is reportedly on his way to Detroit. The Tigers 11th ranked prospect on our preseason rankings, Sears has shown out in two Triple-A appearances since being promoted from Double-A Erie back on August 11. The X account Dr. Degenerate, apparently the burner account for someone with good sources, reported on Saturday that Sears is being promoted to Detroit. That account has nailed several recent promotions in the Tigers' system. The report has been circulated by both Emily Waldon as well as the MiLB Central official account on X, and Chris McCosky of the Detroit News confirmed that Sears is with the team in Kansas City and will be used as a bulk reliever in Sunday's bullpen game.
The 23-year-old Sears, he'll turn 24 on August 30, was the Tigers 10th round pick in the 2023 draft out of Connecticut. That makes him the first pitching prospect drafted by Scott Harris to reach Detroit, and another later round success story to go with Brett Callahan. Sears received a $167,500 bonus to sign, just barely over the base bonus of $150,000.
Sears made his full season pro debut in 2024 at the Low-A Lakeland level, where his strikeout rate was good and he was rarely hit hard, but had some control issues. Those were resolved by 2025, and the southpaw continued to rack up good strikeout numbers and prevent home runs while throwing a lot more strikes for High-A West Michigan. Left-handers often thrive in A-ball and then struggle as more advanced hitters get used to seeing more southpaws against them, but Sears didn't miss a beat moving into the upper levels. He closed out the season with a nice run over six starts at Double-A Erie. The hope this year was that Sears would refine his changeup and overall command a bit more, reach Triple-A and become available in the second half of this season to help the major league club.
Ultimately, this all came to pass, but it was a wild ride for Sears this year. He had a bone spur fracture in his throwing elbow to begin the season, and spent a few months recovering and rehabbing, returning to Erie in mid-June. He made nine starts for the SeaWolves, compiling a 2.57 ERA/3.44 FIP combination, with a 24.3 percent strikeout rate and a 7.6 percent walk rate. In two starts for the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens, Sears has been a strikeout machine, punching out 41.2 percent of hitters he's faced. His walk rate has ticked up to 11.8 percent, but he also hasn't allowed a home run.
We've pegged Sears for two seasons now as the next lefty swingman for the Tigers. He can start, but he makes plenty of sense as a long reliever and spot starter who also works out of the bullpen. His deception, built on a bit of funky, crossfire delivery and a quick arm from a low slot, makes him tricky to deal with, and his stuff has routinely played up compared to the raw stuff metrics. The big task this season was to refine his changeup and get to using the offspeed more often to take pressure off his good sinker-slider combination, and
