A featherweight clash between Patricio Pitbull and Doo Ho Choi is on for UFC 331 on Sept. 19; multiple people with knowledge of the situation confirmed the news to MMA Fighting.
The numbered event will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The promotion has yet to announce the headlining attraction for UFC 331.
Pitbull (37-9) attempts to rebound from a decision defeat to Aaron Pico in April, a result that dropped his UFC record to 1-2.
The Brazilian is a former two-division champion in Bellator, going 24-6 in that company before joining the UFC, and is currently ranked No. 15 on the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Pitbull's lone UFC victory was a decision over Dan Ige.
Choi (17-4-1) won three straight since 2024, stopping Bill Algeo and Nate Landwehr that year before coming back to action this past May to score a knockout and earn a $50,000 check for a "Fight of the Night" win over Daniel Santos.

Jose Delgado is ready to test himself against higher-ranked opposition.
Delgado (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) thinks it's time to get a bigger name following his latest win. The MMA Lab product beat fellow featherweight prospect Austin Bashi (14-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) with a unanimous decision this past Saturday on the UFC Fight Night 281 preliminary card in Oklahoma City. The win gave Delgado a two-fight winning streak after a decision loss to veteran Nathaniel Wood.
"I've always rated Nathaniel Wood very highly," Delgado told MMA Junkie. "I think he's a guy who hasn't gotten the opportunities to move up the ranking, but I think skill for skill he deserves to be up there. So skill for skill, I'm ready to compete with them all. I like the idea of a Steve Garcia or an Aaron Pico, I like the idea of that type of range of fights, and I think that's pretty realistic to what I can get, so I'm looking forward to those opportunities in the future. Yeah, somebody in those ranges would be sick."
Being a Mexican-American and living and fighting out of Arizona, many think a return at this year's Noche UFC would be perfect for Delgado. Noche UFC takes place Sept. 12 at the Diamond Desert Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
Delgado would love to participate on that card, and wouldn't say no if a name of interest came up, but he admits the timeline is looking tough.

Darren Elkins is ready to make the walk one more time at UFC Vegas 120.
"The Damage" is set to fight Yadier del Valle (10-1) on Aug. 8 in a featherweight bout, one of several matchups officially announced Thursday for the upcoming show at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. For Elkins (19-11), this will be his 31st octagon appearance.
The 42-year-old Elkins hasn't fought since April 2025, when he lost via first-round TKO to Julian Erosa, snapping a two-fight win streak. In a post on Instagram, Elkins referred to the del Valle fight as "My last dance!"
Del Valle looks to rebound from his first pro loss after he was defeated by Jordan Leavitt this past February.
Other bouts made official for Aug. 8 include a matchup between strawweight contenders Amanda Lemos (15-6-1) and Alexia Thainara (14-1), Diego Ferreira (19-7) welcoming Billy Quarantillo (18-7) to the lightweight division, and undefeated Dana White's Contender Series welterweight prospect Ty Miller (7-0, 1 NC) taking on Billy Ray Goff (9-4).

Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight veteran Darren Elkins is officially back, as "The Damage" returns to action against Cuban prospect Yadier del Valle at UFC Vegas 120 next month.
The event goes down Sat., Aug. 8, 2026, inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The promotion announced the matchup today in a press release.
Elkins (29-12) will enter the Octagon after a 16-month layoff. In his most recent outing at UFC 314, the 41-year-old veteran was destroyed by Julian Erosa (watch highlights), which snapped a two-fight win streak.

Friends and family of rising boxing star Hannah Rapp will host candlelight vigils Wednesday as part of a national movement to honor her life and memory.
Rapp, the 26-year-old Yorktown native and WBC women's featherweight boxer, died on Saturday after being hit by a car while riding her bicycle in Brazos County, Texas, in an apparent road rage incident.
The Brazos County sheriff's office said in a statement that 31-year-old Charles Medina had passed two cyclists Saturday morning before stopping his vehicle, shifting into reverse, and striking one of the riders, identified as Rapp. Medina has since been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Connor Mitton, owner and coach of Dark Side Boxing Club at 1433 E. Dollar Ct. in Brookston, said his club will host a candlelight vigil to honor Rapp, a former member of the club, to coincide with a vigil at her boxing gym in Bryan, Texas, and in her hometown of Yorktown, Indiana, held in Morrow Meadows at the Pavillion.
The vigils will start at 8:30 p.m., Mitton said, with candle lighting to begin at 9:30 p.m.

American boxer Hannah Rapp died on Saturday after being hit by a car while cycling in Texas.
Rapp, 26, was passed by a car which suddenly came to a stop then reversed into her, according to the Brazos County sheriff's office.
The driver has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Rapp challenged for the WBC women's featherweight championship in June, losing to Tiara Brown in Orlando, which left her with an 8-1-1 record.
WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said in a statement: "She was an exceptional boxer, but above all, an invaluable member of our boxing family."

And on Tuesday, MMA Fighting confirmed that a late addition fight between undefeated prospects takes place on the undercard when Damien Anderson takes on Ezra Elliott in a featherweight contest. Marcel Dorff was first to report the news.
Anderson (5-0) is a 29-year-old fighter out of Texas, with all of his MMA wins coming via stoppage. Anderson spent most of his MMA career in Fury FC, but also has an extensive grappling background, even competing at a UFC Fight Pass Invitational in 2024. Most recently, Anderson submitted Hondo Gutierrez with a kneebar at CFFC 150.
Elliott (7-0) is a 26-year-old prospect hailing from Arizona, where he trains at the MMA Lab. All of Elliott’s career wins have also come by stoppage, including his most recent win over Ashtin Canigla at RUF 68 in May.
Aside from the main event, UFC Oklahoma City also features a middleweight co-main event between Jared Cannonier and Christian Leroy Duncan.

“100 Grand” is moving down.
After 21 fights at Featherweight inside the Octagon, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Dan Ige announced recently that he is dropping down to Bantamweight for a fresh start after his test cut went well.
Ige revealed the news on Instagram, explaining that he successfully completed a trial run to 135 pounds and is now fully committed to making the move.
“Test cut/camp to bantamweight was a success,” Ige wrote. “Thank you to the staff at the UFC PI for their commitment to making this possible. Thank you to my wife and my kids for their patience with me during the hungry hours. It’s been a long journey and I can now say I will be making the full commitment to competing in the bantamweight division.
“I’ve had 21 fights in the UFC at featherweight against the world’s best, and now I’m looking forward to making my bantamweight debut this fall,” Ige continued. “New venture, new challenges and big opportunities lie ahead! Excited for this new chapter.”

Cross-over time!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight-turned Bantamweight contender Bryce Mitchell is putting down the gloves for the time being and stepping into the UFC BJJ bowl.
“Thug Nasty” will collide with UFC BJJ Bantamweight champion Mikey Musumeci at UFC BJJ 11, which goes down Thurs., Sept. 24, 2026, inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The grappling match will take place at Featherweight, meaning Musumeci’s Bantamweight ***** le will not be on the line.
In the co-main event, UFC BJJ Light Heavyweight champion Mason Fowler will defend his ***** le against Nick Rodriguez.

UFC 329 has come and gone. While the card delivered some incredible moments, it ended in the most deflating way possible. Conor McGregor returned after five years off, and it ended in 69 seconds.
McGregor blew his knee out after one left high kick attempt, and Max Holloway came out victorious. The headlines have been focused on McGregor, which is valid since he’s the biggest star ever in this sport.

One question that’s not being asked enough is: what does Holloway do next? The former Featherweight champion now primarily competes at Lightweight but came up to Welterweight to fight McGregor.
Holloway said he wants to run it back with McGregor, but who knows when that would be since McGregor is going to have knee surgery. If Holloway wants to stay active, he goes back down to 155 pounds and fights a contender that can earn him a **** le shot.

One needed only listen to the response from the fans still inside T-Mobile Arena when Max Holloway asked them to give it up for his opponent.
Moments earlier, Holloway (28-9 MMA, 24-9 UFC) beat Conor McGregor (22-7 MMA, 10-5 UFC) with a TKO that came just 69 seconds into their fight. After five years away and countless outside-MMA issues to dull his former superstar ****** er, McGregor's return went out with an absolute whimper.
He threw a wild kick right out of the gate against ex-featherweight champion Holloway in their UFC 329 main event and apparently blew out the knee on the leg opposite the one he broke against Dustin Poirier five years ago.
And when Holloway was on the microphone after the win, his first at 170 pounds, he asked the fans to show some love for McGregor. The Las Vegas fans showered down upon him with boos he hasn't been used to in fights. He appeared to symbolically grab his crotch while exiting the arena floor as a response to the fans' reaction to being asked to cheer for him.
Does that make Holloway's finish of McGregor, ostensibly just due to the injury, the most satisfying stoppage on the card, in a way? That's why we ask you to vote for the best finish – and there were plenty to cap off International Fight Week in the desert.

Hollway landed right hands standing over McGregor. Holloway let McGregor up. McGregor's leg is injured. McGregor looked to have blown out his knee in the first kick of the fight.
That's it. McGregor could not continue. The official time 1:09nof the stoppage was of the first round.

Paddy Pimblett might have stolen the show at UFC 329.
On a card headlined by the return of Conor McGregor facing longtime rival Max Holloway, Pimblett set the bar high for highlight of the night with a stunning submission win over Benoit Saint Denis in under 60 seconds. This was Pimblett’s first fight since seeing his unblemished UFC record spoiled by Justin Gaethje this past January and he wasted no time reminding fans and pundits that he is a legitimate lightweight ******* le contender.
Pimblett put Saint Denis to sleep to win his 10th fight in his last 11 appearances and he wowed his peers, with featherweight veteran Billy Quarantillo writing on Twitter, “Quick submission Paddy is the real deal.” Kenny Florian and Glover Teixeira, a couple of retired stars who know a thing or two about grappling, were also effusive in their praise for “The Baddy.”
The performance was so impressive, UFC veteran Matt Brown suggested that it’s time for Pimblett to have his long-awaited showdown with former two-division champion Ilia Topuria.

Luke Riley is leaving UFC 329 with a knockout victory on his record, but his fellow fighters aren’t in agreement with the stoppage call.
Referee Kerry Hatley stepped in for the save to close out Riley’s featherweight fight against Kai Kamaka III on Saturday’s preliminary card, stopping the fight 3:03 into Round 1 with Riley battering a retreating Kamaka. Though Kamaka was visibly dazed, he appeared to be trying to clinch Riley when the bout was waved off, which drew a number of negative reactions from pros on social media.
Fellow featherweight Billy Quarantillo said, plainly, “That stoppage sucked.” UFC fighters Josh Hokit, Jamahal Hill, and Matt Frevola also wondered why Hatley didn’t give Kamaka more time to recover.
It was a big win for Riley, who improved to 14-0 as a pro and 3-0 in the UFC with the win, while Kamaka will be left disappointed as he falls to 1-1 in his second stint with the promotion.
