Jose Delgado has no regrets after a valiant effort against Jean Silva at UFC Fight Night 288.
Delgado (12-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) dropped Silva (18-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in Round 1 of their Noche UFC main event this past Saturday at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Ariz., but Silva rallied to submit him in Round 3.
Delgado, who took the opportunity on short notice after Silva's original opponent Yair Rodriguez withdrew, took to Instagram to speak on the loss.
"Well sh*t so it goes. Dared to be great yesterday and came up short. But man I loved every second of being on that stage with high level opposition, that includes the heartbreaking pain of failure. Pure freedom. Insert something cliche about bouncing back here. Thank you to God for His guidance and my village for backing me. Also thanks to everyone in that arena for making that walk what it was. Love yall🤎."

Jean Silva may have started slow but his aggression finally came through as he dropped Jose Miguel Delgado and finished with a one-arm rear-naked choke in the Noche UFC main event.
At the start of the fight, Silva just put his fists out and circled the octagon but once he got moving, he was hurting Delgado with a variety of strikes. Finally in the third round, Silva put Delgado against the cage and unloaded a huge shot that dropped his opponent to the canvas.

A moment later, Silva was on his back and ****** ing the submission with Delgado tapping out at 2:57 in the third round to end the fight. Silva has now won two fights in a row and it's no secret what he wants next.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight headliners Jean Silva and Jose Delgado came face-to-face Friday evening following the Noche UFC 4 ceremonial weigh-ins, held ahead of their main event tomorrow night (Sat., Sept. 12, 2026) inside Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Delgado quickly stormed onto the stage and soaked in a massive ovation from his hometown crowd. Silva, meanwhile, took his time—as usual—and initially hid his face from the fans.
When Silva finally stepped onto the scale and struck his pose, he revealed that his face had been painted like a sugar skull.
The two Featherweights then got directly in each other's faces. Silva unleashed his trademark bark, but Delgado refused to take the bait, standing his ground and staring straight through the Brazilian contender.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be back in the hurt business this weekend to stage Noche UFC 4 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Leading the way this weekend for UFC's celebration of Mexican Independence Day will be a featherweight clash between knockout specialist Jean Silva and rising contender Jose Delgado. Silva was originally expected to fight former interim UFC featherweight champion Yair Rodriguez in a long-awaited grudge match, but "El Pantera" was forced to withdraw due to injury just a few weeks ago.
Adding to the mix will be a co-main event clash between former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and recent Ultimate Fighter winner Joseph Morales. Fight fans will also get to see Octagon appearances by Tommy McMilllen, Alexa Grasso, Dan Ige, Curtis Blaydes, David Martinez, Tim Elliott, Waldo Cortes-Acosta, and Yousri Belgaroui.

Rising featherweights will collide at the Meta APEX this fall.
At UFC Fight Night 293, Austin Bashi and Lucas Brennan will look to regain momentum against one another in Las Vegas.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Bashi (14-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) entered the UFC with much hype but has encountered mixed results. He lost his debut to Christian Rodriguez, but bounced back with a win over John Yannis. In July, Bashi lost a hard-fought battle against Jose Delgado, who is now considered a contender at featherweight.
Brennan (11-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) gained notoriety for his nine-fight stint in Bellator during which he went undefeated. After a loss in PFL, Brennan departed the promotion and went to the regional scene. After a 2-1 run there, the UFC picked him up in April. He lost his debut to Francis Marshall by unanimous decision. Brennan is a second generation UFC fighter, being the son of promotional alumnus Chris Brennan.

On August 26, 1935, a Monday, José Manuel Ramos Delgado, the unforgettable center back Ramos Delgado, was born in the city of Quilmes, Argentina. His father, Faustino, a Cape Verdean, gave him the surname Ramos, and Delgado he inherited from his mother Maura, who was born in Sicily, Italy.
In 1956, at the age of 20, he began his career at Lanús, a team that in the following two years achieved excellent results, to the point of being called Los Globetrotters and coming close to winning the Argentine ***** le.
His solid, composed performances put him on the list of call-ups for the 1958 World Cup in Sweden and caught the attention of River Plate, which signed him in 1959. For the Buenos Aires club he did not win any ***** les, but he became a great idol of the fans because of his talent for dispossessing opposing players without violence, and his class when playing out from the back was applauded by his Argentine admirers.
Ramos Delgado was captain of the Argentine National Team for many years, and when he arrived at Vila Belmiro he was already an experienced player. At the age of 32, he came with the mission of replacing the star Orlando Peçanha and the legendary Mauro Ramos de Oliveira.

Silva (17-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) was originally scheduled to headline Noche UFC against former interim featherweight champion Yair Rodriguez, but an injury forced Rodriguez out of the bout. After suffering his first octagon loss to two-time **** le challenger Diego Lopes, Silva rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Arnold Allen at UFC 324.
Dana White's Contender Series graduate Delgado (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) has won nine of his past 10 fights. Nathaniel Wood put an end to his win streak, but the 28-year-old rebounded with back-to-back wins over Andre Fili, and Austin Bashi.
According to Caesars, Silva is a -450 favorite to beat Delgado, who is a +350 underdog.

Noche UFC, the mixed martial arts and fighting promotion's celebration of Latinos in the sport set for Glendale, Arizona, on Sept. 12, has adjusted its main event due to an injury.
José Delgado is in the main event of Noche UFC after Yair Rodriguez pulled out due to an injury, Rodriguez said in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Aug. 19. Delgado faces Jean Silva in a featherweight bout at Desert Diamond Arena.
Rodriguez (21-5-0) has not fought much over the past two years, and now it looks like he will have to wait until 2027 to fight again.
"I wanted this fight, and I know many of you did too," he said in Spanish on Instagram. "Now my job is to fully recover and return ready to compete at the level you expect of me and that I expect of myself."
Delgado, from Mexico, is 4-1 and has been in UFC for only about a year and a half. He made his professional MMA debut in March 2022.

Jose Delgado is ready to test himself against higher-ranked opposition.
Delgado (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) thinks it's time to get a bigger name following his latest win. The MMA Lab product beat fellow featherweight prospect Austin Bashi (14-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) with a unanimous decision this past Saturday on the UFC Fight Night 281 preliminary card in Oklahoma City. The win gave Delgado a two-fight winning streak after a decision loss to veteran Nathaniel Wood.
"I've always rated Nathaniel Wood very highly," Delgado told MMA Junkie. "I think he's a guy who hasn't gotten the opportunities to move up the ranking, but I think skill for skill he deserves to be up there. So skill for skill, I'm ready to compete with them all. I like the idea of a Steve Garcia or an Aaron Pico, I like the idea of that type of range of fights, and I think that's pretty realistic to what I can get, so I'm looking forward to those opportunities in the future. Yeah, somebody in those ranges would be sick."
Being a Mexican-American and living and fighting out of Arizona, many think a return at this year's Noche UFC would be perfect for Delgado. Noche UFC takes place Sept. 12 at the Diamond Desert Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
Delgado would love to participate on that card, and wouldn't say no if a name of interest came up, but he admits the timeline is looking tough.

In a friendly Sunday afternoon match, LAFC returned to the pitch for the first time since May 24, defeating the El Salvador national team 3-0 at BMO Stadium.
Despite the crowd in attendance overwhelmingly voicing support for El Salvador, the Black & Gold cruised through a mostly dominant showing and got their legs back under them. Mark Delgado, Jeremy Ebobisse and Ryan Hollingshead each provided scores en route to the victory.
"You want to make sure that your friendlies have the right amount of intensity," LAFC head coach Marc Dos Santos said. "Overall, I think the mentality was good. When you're in this world and you play friendlies, it's easy for players to relax and switch off. They were very pro and responsible, and that is a good sign of responsibility."
Delgado's score came relatively quickly as he rocketed a shot through the back of the net from the top of the box in minute nine. It was just the second goal of 2026 for the midfielder, who hadn't managed to score since LAFC's second game of the season against Houston Dynamo on Feb. 28.
Following a quiet next 30 minutes, Ebobisse put a bow on the half by finishing a well-placed cross from Denis Bouanga. Unlike Delgado, Ebobisse had not scored in 2026 before finally notching his first on Sunday afternoon.

Their careers have had a similar trajectory, but there'd be few arguments about who is the proverbial A side in Austin Bashi's next fight.
Bashi (14-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) takes on Jose Delgado (11-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) later this month at UFC Fight Night 281 (Paramount+) in Oklahoma City. Their featherweight matchup will be part of the prelims at Paycom Center.
Bashi arrived in the UFC through DWCS, just like Delgado did. And they both recently rebounded from their first UFC losses. But though Delgado has the bigger names on his resume, Bashi thinks the MMA Lab-based fighter is about to experience some Michigan muscle.
"He's definitely a tough guy, but I love this matchup," Bashi told MMA Junkie Radio. "I really think I'm going to finish him in the first or second round. This is definitely the biggest fight of my career.
"A win here puts me into a much bigger fight next and really accelerates my career. Right now, I'm just focused on July 18 and getting this win so my career keeps moving upward."

LAS VEGAS – Hyder Amil went through much more than many realized in recent months, aside from just losing his last pair of fights.
Amil (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) was an undefeated fighter until last June, when he was stopped by Jose Delgado at UFC 317. In his next fight, he dropped a unanimous decision to Jamall Emmers. Amil now knows what may have played a major factor in those outcomes.
"I lost my last fight, but I won something bigger," Amil told MMA Junkie and other reporters at media day. "I was puking, fighting stomach symptoms during the fight, and they found out I had an ulcer, a hole in my stomach with acid, while I was fighting, pouring out. That's why I was wincing and burning. I puked after. I don't know if everyone saw. I didn't know what was going on with me, then a doctor stuck a camera inside my stomach, and they found an infection I had. If I were not to get rid of the infection within a year or two, I would have got stomach cancer."
Amil says he's now fully healthy and ready for his return against Christian Rodriguez on the main card of UFC Fight Night 279 on Saturday. It's an interesting clash, because Rodriguez (12-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) also enters on a two-fight skid and has made recent changes in his life, although he wasn't dealing with a serious medical issue.
"I'm off the medications," Amil said. "My last two losses, my last two fights, because of my infection I got from Mexico when I ate something – I was wondering where I got all these symptoms and I wasn't recovering well. I was stressed. I was like eight pounds light on both my last fights – also my both last losses. I was wondering why I couldn't rehydrate, because my stomach was compromised. ... When the doctors found out, it cleared it, and now I feel so healthy."

LAS VEGAS – Christian Rodriguez is feeling better than ever after making big changes ahead of UFC Fight Night 279.
Six months ago, Rodriguez (12-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) moved to Las Vegas along with making other lifestyle changes on the heels of a two-fight skid. At UFC Fight Night 279, he'll look to get back into the win column against Hyder Amil, who is in a similar position. Rodriguez knows Amil (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) is a dangerous fighter capable of thriving in tough fights, but he's confident in his abilities to be good anywhere the fight goes.
"I've seen Hyder fight a couple of times," Rodriguez told MMA Junkie and other reporters at media day. "I was a fan of his style. He's very dangerous, very aggressive. I think it's a fight that fans are going to want to tune in and watch. It's kind of cool they put us on the main card. We're both coming off two losses, so that's definitely more motivating for both of us because we both want to get back in the win column."
Rodriguez started off his three-fight 2025 year with a win over Austin Bashi, but then dropped a pair of decisions to Melquizael Costa and Andre Fili. Amil had a similar 2025 campaign, winning his first fight of the year against William Gomis, but was then stopped by Jose Delgado and lost a decision to Jamaal Emmers, marking his first career losses.
Rodriguez isn't any more worried about job security in the UFC, but he admits the skid did prompt him to make changes to better his career.

The TikTok creator formerly known as Bela Delgado announced on June 3 that he is detransitioning after attending an "exploratory therapy camp" referred by his church, and will now be referred to on the platform as "TopHer," a play on his birth name, Christopher.
"A lot of people have been asking me to address the elephant in the room," Delgado said in the video. "Obviously, my display name is no longer Bela Delgado. It now says 'TopHer,' which is inspired by the name Christopher, my real name. I was born a male named Christopher Delgado."
Once known for stirring controversy online with his cultural commentary on public figures like Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, including a notable feud with actress Julia Fox, Delgado has built a large following on TikTok in the 2020s. In the new video, posted Wednesday, Delgado said that after first publicly identifying as a transgender woman at age 18 in 2017, "that has changed."
"After years of going on and off of medication and hormones and what not and trying to see why my head was in such a dark place, I decided that I was going to take some advice from my church," Delgado said. "I am a devout Christian. I have been since I was a child and my transgender identity was always kind of awkwardly balanced with that."

Emerson Hancock, the breakout star of the vaunted Mariners rotation in 2026, turned in another strong start last night against the Mets, going six innings with seven strikeouts and giving up just two runs, both on solo homers. This, in and of itself, is not particularly surprising; Hancock, one day after his 27th birthday, has settled into a steady hand in the Mariners rotation, and this kind of line now feels like just another day at the office for Hancock.
What is surprising is how he got there: last year, Hancock’s four seam-sinker combo accounted for over two-thirds of his pitches, with his changeup accounting for the bulk of the rest and a slider/sweeper rounding it out. He was a classic ***** ator, working within what Mario Delgado Genzor has termed the “pronator’s triangle.” Here’s Hancock’s pitch mix in 2025, with his particular ***** ator’s triangle skillfully drawn in for you:
A quick review, if you don’t know: Pitchers with a supination bias, or supinators, get on the outside of the ball as they release it (you can remember this by imagining scooping up a big spoonful of delicious soup), leading to glove-side movement. These kinds of pitchers excel at pitches that rely on horizontal movement like sweepers, cutters, and curveballs. Pitchers with ***** ation bias, on the other hand, stay to the inside of the ball, ending palm-out. ***** ators are able to get significant arm-side run. While ***** ators tend to throw a very spin efficient fastball, leading to more ride up in the zone, that comes at a cost of horizontal movement, limiting their options to enhance their ***** nals with things like sweepers or cutters.
But in 2026, Hancock changed up his pitch mix, somehow magically developing all those pitches that are supposed to be off-limits to ***** ators, as Michael Rosen examined in his article on FanGraphs about how Hancock dropped his arm angle and spin efficiency and in doing so escaped “low slot ***** ator jail”. All of a sudden we don’t have a triangle so much as we have…Massachussetts.
The cutter, while still classified as a hard pitch like the fourseam or sinker, has a totally different movement profile – while the sinker and four-seamer move armside, the cutter moves gloveside, although Hancock will still throw it to both sides of the plate, making things even less predictable for hitters.
