Lens finished just six points behind PSG last season in what was a remarkable push for the ******* le. What were the key factors behind your excellent form?
I would say there are three key factors behind the season's success:
First, the alignment between the ownership, the sporting management, and the coach was solid, with everyone completely on the same wavelength;
Second, Pierre Sage's coaching played a pivotal role. He is a brilliant tactician with a great feel for the game who always seems to be one step ahead of the opposition;
Third, the team remained reliable across every area of play, even when dealing with numerous injuries. Added to this was a strong sense of team unity that was directly linked to the club's values.

Mortgage rates have been higher in the last few years. But where are rates headed in the next five years, and should you wait for mortgage rates to fall significantly before buying or refinancing? Mortgage interest rates are determined by several factors, all of which can give us clues about the future. Let's take a closer look at mortgage rate predictions over the next five years.
Here are the housing market predictions for 2026.
One of the most useful indicators for predicting mortgage rates is the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note. Mortgage rates and 10-year Treasury yields typically move in the same direction, although mortgage rates are usually higher because lenders factor in additional risks. This difference between the two is known as the spread, and we'll account for that when estimating where mortgage rates could go.
With that in mind, the first step is to look at where economists believe Treasury yields are headed over the next five years. To build a forecast, we'll combine expert economic projections with data compiled using artificial intelligence.

Your car insurance liability limits determine the maximum amount your insurance company will pay for a covered claim. While most states set minimum car insurance requirements, the required amounts usually aren't enough to adequately protect your finances after a serious accident. When selecting the right coverage limits, it's important to consider several factors, including your ***** ets, income, vehicle, and risk tolerance.
Choosing the right car insurance coverage limits isn't always straightforward. This guide explains how the different types of coverage work and what to consider when deciding how much car insurance coverage you may need.
Learn more: How does car insurance work? The basics explained.
Almost every state requires drivers to carry a minimum amount of car insurance so they can help pay for injuries or property damage caused by an accident they are responsible for. However, meeting your state's minimum requirements doesn't necessarily mean you'll have enough coverage to pay for all related costs or adequately protect your finances. Because insurance requirements vary by state, it's important to know whether the minimum car insurance coverage limits are right for your situation.

Teams who take care of their business by rolling over opponents that they're supposed to beat are typically the ones that are the most successful in sports. A lot has been made of Penn State's schedule for 2026, with the storied school projected to have one of the easier slates in the nation.
USA Today's Paul Myerberg game up with one important question for each team that appeared on the US LBM Coaches Poll, and his question for the Nittany Lions addressed the enviable schedule. Myerberg wonders, "How much can PSU make out of an easier Big Ten schedule?"
Whenever a team in arguably the best conference in college football can avoid the heavy hitters like Oregon, Ohio State, and Indiana, they are in an advantageous position. Myerberg acknowledges that Penn State has a real shot at earning a spot in the College Football Playoff, citing the relatively easy schedule and the continuity of the roster.
The Nittany Lions will be led by a new voice and implement new practices this year under head coach Matt Campbell, but there's a level of familiarity thanks to the massive number of Iowa State transfers he brought over. This combination creates a strong possibility for the team to gel quickly and surprise some people with a fast start to the season.
Penn State still faces a few challenges along the way, like their mid-season battles with Michigan and USC, but they'll take this path any day. There are a multitude of factors that are aligning for the Nittany Lions to have a major bounce back season — now they just need to go on the field and prove it.

American Express (NYSE: AXP) stock has sputtered this year compared with its benchmarks, sector, and major competitors. The stock is down about 6% year to date, while Visa is up 6%, and Mastercard is flat. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 -- two indexes that include American Express -- are each up 13% so far this year. And the financial services sector within the S&P 500 has averaged a 5% return.
But based on several factors, investors and ****** ysts may be underrating the financial services giant. Just 48% of Wall Street ****** ysts rate it a buy, compared with 93% each for Mastercard and Visa. Here's why you should consider this underrated and overlooked payments stock.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
American Express stock struggled in the weeks leading up to its second-quarter earnings release as investors grew concerned about the macro environment and its impact on banks, consumer spending, rates, and credit quality. But when American Express reported Q2 earnings on July 24, the stock price rose as investors were pleasantly surprised.
Revenue increased 10% year over year to $19.6 billion but fell just short of estimates of $19.7 billion. Earnings were up 11% to $4.53 per share, beating estimates of $4.40 per share. And credit quality was strong, with provisions for credit losses and 30-day delinquency rates down year over year and net write-offs holding steady.

Mikel Arteta is at the Emirates Stadium with the Gunners. Galatasaray are actively preparing contingency plans in the transfer market, with ***** nal winger Gabriel Martinelli emerging as their top alternative should the Turkish champions fail to land AC Milan star Rafael Leao, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Istanbul club have made signing a marquee left-sided attacker a central priority for manager Okan Buruk this summer. While Galatasaray remain firmly in the race for Leao, negotiations have become increasingly complex due to intense competition from rivals Fenerbahce and AC Milan's strict €50m valuation.
Martinelli, who is a 'real threat in front of goal', has moved to the top of Galatasaray's shortlist as a high-calibre alternative. The Brazil international faces an uncertain future in North London, with ***** nal seeking a marquee left winger.
Galatasaray intermediaries have begun preliminary enquiries regarding Martinelli's willingness to move to Super Lig football. While ***** nal are not actively pushing the winger out, the club's hierarchy could be open to substantial offers.
For Galatasaray, convincing a player of Martinelli's pedigree would represent a major coup. The Turkish champions can offer guaranteed regular minutes, a starring role in their domestic ***** le defence, and Champions League football—factors that could appeal to the Brazilian as he looks to safeguard his place in the national team.

The Buffalo Bills are set to begin their sixth day of open practice at training camp at St. John Fisher University, and after Tuesday's salty drills, who knows what we can expect.
The sun was finally out at camp, temperatures were up, and the Bills were wearing their pads for the entire practice for the first time. All of those factors likely led to some spirited fights during the two-hour workout.
None were more talked about than the scrum that ensued after rookie linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr delivered a late hit on tight end Dalton Kincaid.
Will cooler heads prevail today? Did Joe Brady remind his players that they're teammates? Or is he a coach who likes mayhem at practice?
We'll see.

"When I spoke to David Moyes and others at the club, I was told about the whole project and I was very intrigued. Coming here just makes that feeling even stronger, this is a big honour for me.
"Leadership is something I will bring without really thinking about it, and hopefully that will fit really well with the culture and the players here.

The Institute for Supply Management said its manufacturing PMI rose to 55.6 in July, up 2.3 percentage points from June's 53.3 and the highest reading since May 2022, when the index hit 55.9. The sector has now expanded for seven consecutive months following a 10-month contraction. Readings above 50 indicate growth.
Economists had forecast the index would rise to 54.0, according to Yahoo Finance.
The production index drove much of the gain, jumping 6.3 percentage points to 58.5 — its highest level since November 2021. After 33 months in contraction, the employment index crossed above 50 for the first time, climbing to 52.8 from June's 49.7. New orders grew for a seventh straight month, with the New Orders Index edging up to 56.7 from 56.0. The Backlog of Orders Index rose 4.5 percentage points to 55.0, and the New Export Orders Index returned to expansion at 53.0, its highest since March 2022.
Susan Spence, chair of the ISM Manufacturing Business Survey Committee, said the July result reflected broad-based momentum, with four of five PMI subindexes growing at a faster rate than in June. "My gut is, it's not just a one or two month trend," Spence told Bloomberg. "Companies are seeing six or more months of these solid demand factors going in the right direction."
Fifteen of the 16 manufacturing industries ISM monitors expanded during the month, with Chemical Products alone reporting a contraction.

A housing market crash happens when home values plummet due to a lack of demand for or an oversupply of homes. The factors leading to a housing market crash are varied, ranging from economic recessions to high mortgage rates that make it less affordable to buy a home. A housing crash can have upsides (low home prices) and downsides (losing built-up equity and tighter finances).
So, what's ahead for the housing market in 2026?
➡ Read more: Want to buy a house in 2026? Here's what you need to know.
Generally, experts don't foresee a housing market crash in 2026. If anything, they see a greater sense of normalcy following multiple years of twists and turns.
"We're not heading toward a housing crash; we're in a market correction defined by stability, not volatility," Hoby Hanna, CEO of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, said via email. "Today's housing environment is fundamentally different from 2008. Homeowners have record levels of equity, lending standards are sound, and inventory remains constrained. What we're seeing now is a normalization, not a collapse, as the market adjusts to new economic realities. For buyers and sellers, this is a market filled with opportunity and resilience, not instability or uncertainty."

Sean "Diddy" Combs is now expected to remain in federal prison nearly one month longer than his most recent projected release date.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records list the 56-year-old music mogul's release from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey as February 20th, 2028. His previous projection was January 24th, 2028, a difference of 27 days.
The agency has not explained the change or connected it to Combs' reported July altercation with another inmate. Bureau of Prisons release dates are projections and can change as sentence calculations, earned credits and other factors are reviewed.
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after a federal jury convicted him of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Jurors acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and two ******* -trafficking charges.
Combs' projected release date has changed several times since he began serving his sentence. Bureau of Prisons records had listed February 23rd, 2028, as his expected release before the date moved forward to January 24th. PEOPLE reported that earlier versions of his federal record included April 15th, April 25th and June 4th, 2028.

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their worst season in over a decade. 2025 was not only the first losing season of the Patrick Mahomes era, but it was also the first losing season for head coach Andy Reid since joining the organization in 2013. Finishing 6-11, the Chiefs lost eight of their final nine games in 2025, including losses to division rivals the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers.
There were a lot of factors that played into the Chiefs' disappointing 2025 campaign. Like the fact that the Chiefs' pass rush was exclusively found on a milk carton, or the absence of any hint of explosiveness at the running back position.
Kansas City's season was already in the trash heap by the time Mahomes tore his ACL in the Week 15 loss to the Chargers. Still, there is no doubt that Mahomes' injury is when things went from bad to a dumpster fire.
For a team that appeared in three straight Super Bowls from 2022-2024 (winning two of them), 2025's fall from grace was a stark reminder that in today's NFL, the fate of a franchise is constantly ebbing and flowing. As hard as the climb to the top is, the fall from grace is twice as sudden and ******* py on the way down.
If the Chiefs want to climb out of the AFC West cellar and improve on last season's third-place finish, they need to be more balanced on offense and find a way to get to the opposing quarterback.

Welcome to the 2026 edition of the 30-Day Countdown!!!
Every year we get ready for the new Husky football season by coming out with a daily article that examines the approaching games through a certain lens. Sometimes they're serious, sometimes they're not. But we generally try to get you, the reader, involved with a poll to get a sense for where Husky nation's head is at on that topic.
To start us off, I'm looking at some of the factors that likely aren't being discussed by the national media in their early previews of Washington. Today we'll focus on the positives and some of the reasons why the Huskies may surprise in 2026.
Hidden Returning Starters
Preseason magazines love to look at returning starters as a metric for how much returning experience a team has. That shouldn't be a surprise. Most positions have somewhere between 65-90% of their snaps come from one player so having that starter come back is essential to keeping up continuity.

For most of the last two decades, the anxiety in power planning was about demand: would consumption grow fast enough to justify new capacity, and how would an aging fleet keep pace? That question has inverted. Demand is no longer the uncertain variable—it is the one thing forecasters are confident about. The uncertainty now sits on the supply side: whether the workforce, the equipment, and the political and economic conditions needed to build and run generation can keep up with a demand curve that is accelerating for the first time in a generation. The International Energy Agency (IEA) put a number on the demand side in its Electricity 2026 report, projecting that global electricity demand will grow by an average of 3.6% per year through 2030, roughly 50% faster than the average over the previous decade, driven by industrial electrification, electric vehicles, air conditioning, and data centers. For the first time in three decades outside of a crisis period, electricity demand has begun to grow faster than the global economy itself. The demand is coming. The open question is deliverability. That framing—supply-side constraints as the binding risk—runs through recent research from Verdantix, a UK-based **** yst firm whose Industrial Dislocation Index scores nine major economies on how far their operating conditions have diverged from their own 30-year norms. For power generation specifically, Verdantix identifies four factors that carry disproportionate weight: politics, geo-economic friction, energy prices, and production inputs.
The clearest signal in the Verdantix data for a power audience is the energy sub-index, which scores each country on how far its energy position has moved from its own historical baseline. The spread is wide. The U.S. sits at the resilient end, with the lowest energy-dislocation score in the study at 1.83, a reflection of its position as a net exporter of natural gas, crude, and coal, with electricity and fuel costs below the global average. At the other end is the UK, at 7.33, the highest in the study—a measure of how sharply its energy position has diverged from what UK industry was historically built around. Germany (5.67) and France (5.50) sit high as well; **** an (4.50), India (3.50), China (3.17), Saudi Arabia (3.00), and Canada (2.67) fall in between. What that gap looks like on the ground varies by market, and Verdantix's country profiles fill it in. The UK's high score traces to underinvestment in nuclear, the grid-modernization costs of shifting to decentralized renewables, and windfall taxes on oil and gas—a combination severe enough that Verdantix notes chemical producers citing UK energy costs as a reason to pull back operations. France is Europe's largest net electricity exporter thanks to its nuclear fleet, but that same concentration is a vulnerability: recent questions about the quality of French reactor maintenance, Verdantix observes, show how quickly a strength can turn into a present-day problem. ****

It's a three-peat until proven otherwise.
That much became apparent as Major League Baseball's trade deadline passed and the Los Angeles Dodgers added the greatest left-handed pitcher in the game while the chief threats to their bid for a third consecutive World Series ******* le were relegated to leftovers.
So just how does the acquisition of Tarik Skubal affect the path and probability for clubs aiming to knock off the Dodgers?
Injuries and other factors will surely affect the composition of contenders come October, but the end of the trade deadline tells us exactly the composition of an organization for the rest of the way. And with that, USA TODAY Sports ranks the top eight World Series contenders:

HSBC believes the recent period of volatility across global financial markets has largely passed, with the bank saying a key sell signal in its market sentiment framework has disappeared, reinforcing its positive outlook for equities.

The New York Giants finished with a 4-13 record last season, but they weren't your garden-variety last-place team.
The Giants were very competitive in most of their games. They could have very well ended up 7-10 or 8-9 had they been able to finish out games. They squandered five fourth-quarter leads last season, three of which were 10 or more points. They also were 1-7 in one-score games.
Sign of a bad team? Sure. The reasons were aplenty: Bad coaching, poor conditioning, lack of depth due to injuries, and being short on talent. They seemed to run out of gas late in games, and a change across the board was called for.
Enter veteran NFL coach John Harbaugh to instill and/or reverse all of those factors that made the Giants losers the past three seasons.
But Harbaugh has had his own fourth-quarter issues in his career, as pointed out by Ryan Dunleavy of The New York Post:

The Toronto Blue Jays seemed to signal the team was giving up on the 2026 MLB season when it traded away top starter Kevin Gausman on Sunday. Turns out, the team's decision is less a tear down, and more a re-tooling, especially after it acquired starter José Soriano in a deal with the Los Angels Angels on Monday.
Soriano, 27, has a 3.29 ERA over 123 innings. In exchange for Soriano, the Blue Jays gave up shortstop prospect Arjun Nimmala, outfielder Eddie MIcheletti Jr. and pitcher Angel Rivero.
While the decision to acquire a major-league caliber pitcher a day after shipping another one out might seem confusing on the surface, there are a few factors that make it a reasonable exchange for the Blue Jays.
Gausman — while an incredibly important part of the franchise's resurgence — is old, declining and in the final year of his contract. He has his highest ERA since the 2019 season and may not have been in the Blue Jays' plans beyond 2026.
Soriano, on the other hand, is still very much in his prime and showed signs of growth earlier in the season. In 42 2/3 innings in April, he had a minuscule 0.84 ERA. That figure ballooned in both May and June, when he posted a 5.34 ERA over those two months, before Soriano settled back down in July to a far better 2.74 ERA.

Northampton Saints have signed Italian international tight-head prop Ion Neculai from Italian club Zebre.
The 25‑year‑old joins the Prem champions after five seasons with Zebre, where he made 51 appearances.
Neculai joins former Zebre team‑mate Malik Faissal in moving to Franklin's Gardens this summer.
Neculai has four senior Italy caps, earning his latest last month in Perth when he came off the bench during his side's 57-10 defeat against Australia in the Nations Championship.
Having linked up with his new team‑mates for pre‑season last week, Neculai said he wants to make the most of being at a club of Saints' stature. "The quality of the coaching, the facilities and the players around me were all major factors in my decision," he said.

Each season, Washington fans hear a new name, see a new player in preseason games, and wonder, 'Where did he come from?'
It happens every single year without exception. One of the names Commanders fans will be hearing for the first time this 2026 training camp and preseason is Jeffrey M'ba, an undrafted free agent. The rookie has been given No. 60 by the team. When he is out on the field, you probably won't be able to not notice M'ba because he stands 6 feet 6 inches tall. Weighing 312 pounds, the Commanders have M'ba listed as a defensive tackle.
M'ba is already 26 years old (27 on September 14) and yet is still an NFL rookie. This is because of a couple of factors differing from the typical American path for football careers of high school, college and then the NFL. You see, first of all, M'ba did not grow up in the United States. He was born in France, lived in Cameroon, and returned to France. Therefore, when playing sports, Soccer was a constant. He also delved into track, judo, and horse riding.
At 18, M'ba moved to Baltimore and began playing football. With his size and athletic ability, he was declared to be a 4-Star recruit and committed to the University of Virginia. There were legitimate issues for M'ba regarding Visa and transcripts, resulting in his not going to Virginia but Independence Community College instead, where he played in 2020 and 2021.
M'ba has mysteriously remained a bit unsettled, moving from place to place on his football journey. For instance, M'ba was an Auburn Tiger for only one season (2022), before playing in 2023 and 2024 for the Purdue Boilermakers. His final college stop was in the Dallas, Texas area, where he played for the SMU Mustangs in the 2025 season. In 2025, M'ba achieved career highs of 42 tackles, 5.0 sacks, and 7.5 TFL in his final college season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are buying at the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline, as it was announced today from Jeff Passan the Buccos acquired relife pitcher Camilo Doval from the New York Yankees. In return, the Bucs send two Minor Leaguers in catcher Omar Alfonzo and outfielder Luis Cruz. New York has also agreed to pay a portion of Doval's salary.
The 29-year-old right-handed reliever has elite velocity, touching 101 mph and throwing a fastball, cutter, ans slider. He has 3.53 career ERA and 393 strikeouts in 326 innings, but he hasn't been great since coming to New York last season, finishing with a 4.84 ERA last year and holding a 4.54 one this year.
This deal has been described as being one with "high-upside risk" as Doval has loads of arm talent and potential to be a key piece in Pittsburgh's bullpen. In 2023 as a member of the San Francisco Giants, the 29-year-old righty was an All-Star closer before being traded to the Yankees in the Summer of 2025. His stuff which includes a cutter that regularly touches triple digits, a sinker that sits at 98mph and an incredible cutter gives him the tools to be very effective on the mound. His results since arriving in the Bronx is why the Pirates were able to buy low with him, because he's had lots of problems with consistency.
Doval's rough adjustment to New York could be that it just wasn't the right environment for him. Going from San Francisco which is a pitcher friendly ballpark to the Yankees' shallow outfield could be why he struggled. Regardless the Pirates add another arm to what has been a struggling bullpen. Doval fits the mold that a player like Aroldis Chapman provides to the backend of the bullpen. His blazing pitch speed is pure power in late game situations, and could be beneficial in high leverage situations. Although he struggled at Yankee Stadium it's worth nothing that he's been very good on the road with a 1.86 ERA and just one homer allowed in 19 1/3 innings. The change of scenery and a great pitching staff could be exactly what Doval needs to get back to his All-Star ways. If he can find consistency, he could be a key contributor in helping the Pirates reach the playoffs for the first time in 11 years.
Mike Axisa of CBS Sports gave the Pirates an A grade on the trade, citing the low cost as one of the big factors that makes this trade a win for Pittsburgh.

Apple says it has now topped 1.5 billion subscribers for its services business, up from 1 billion in January 2025. However, this segment of Apple's business, which includes the Apple Store, AppleCare, music, video, and cloud services, was the only miss in what was otherwise a record-breaking quarter for the company's hardware sales.
In Apple's fiscal third quarter, the company reported $30.74 billion in services revenue, falling short of the $31.22 billion Wall Street **** ysts had expected. Combined with a miss in China, Apple's stock tumbled over 4% in after-hours trading.
When asked to dive into what led to the decline in services revenue, Apple CFO Kevan Parekh pointed to several factors. Most notable, however, were the impacts on Apple's cash cow, the App Store.
One factor contributing to the App Store's performance in the quarter was a slowdown in mobile gaming. It also called out the App Store business model changes in certain countries, including the U.S.
The latter is a reference to Apple being under a court order that requires it to now allow app developers to process customer payments outside the App Store — and outside the reach of Apple's commission. While Apple didn't say to what extent this specific issue had impacted App Store revenue, it did remind investors that the matter will be heard by the Supreme Court for a final decision.

Ohio State is known for its long list of standout wide receivers, and this year's roster will have no shortage of talent. But there's a name that may not be at the top of the list of potential x-factors that could raise the Buckeyes' ceiling even more. According to ESPN, Ohio State freshman wide receiver Chris Henry is labeled as the key x-factor for the Buckeyes' success in 2026.
"Can Henry make an impact as a true freshman, alongside All-American Jeremiah Smith and veteran Brandon Inniss? At 6-foot-5, Henry has the tools to become a dangerous downfield and red zone weapon for quarterback Julian Sayin," ESPN's Jake Trotter wrote. "Defenses will be loading up to slow Smith, which figures to give Henry plenty of favorable opportunities to show he can be Ohio State's next great wide receiver."
Henry was a consensus five-star prospect in the 2026 class and enters his true freshman season as a pivotal part of the offense for Ohio State. While Smith and Innis will be one of the top 1-2 combos at wideout across the entire country, adding the skill and size that Henry brings to the field would be another addition to an already explosive offense.
Ohio State has always had two stars on the outside, but what has made its offense so dependable and effective year after year is the ability to have 3-4 wideouts consistently on the field and producing. Whether it was Smith, Emeka Egbuka, Innis and Carnell Tate or the years of Marvin Harrison Jr, Julian Fleming, Egbuka or the dating back to the early 2020's of Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba -- the talent level at wideout has made it nearly impossible for opposing defenses to slow down Ohio State's offense.
With the 2026 season right around the corner, though there's still a competition and other veterans in the room, Henry appears to be the guy that Ohio State is looking at to step up and be impactful from day one.

Goalkeeper Beau Reus says he chose to join Hearts in the hope he and Wouter Vrancken can replicate their respective success stories last season in Belgium.

"I didn't know the manager personally, but I know him of course from the great story he wrote in Belgium with Sint-Truiden," the Dutchman said.
"It was an unbelievable story. I only spoke with him one time because we had a friendly game against Sint-Truiden, but he's one of the biggest coaches in Belgium for sure.
"I think last year he made it clear why. He's a really big name in Belgium. I think, if you choose a club, especially if you're a free agent, you look at so many factors in the club, but of course the head coach is one of the biggest points in this. A lot of factors are in his favour."

Andreas Christensen's Barcelona career has been far from straightforward, but the club believe the defender has earned their trust through both his professionalism and willingness to help during one of their most difficult moments.
