Simu Liu has married his partner of four years, Allison Hsu.
The Avengers: Doomsday star and the music exec wed over the weekend in France, TMZ reports.
Liu and Hsu first started dating in late 2022, and made their red carpet debut at a movie premiere in December of that year.
Liu, who is best known for playing the ****** le role in Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, proposed to his girlfriend in May 2025 while on holiday in Paris, with a little help from Taylor Swift.
"My fiancée works in music, and she grew up a Swiftie," Liu shared on The Tonight Show. "Taylor Swift's music was a big part even in the beginning of our relationship. I was getting to know her through those songs and why they meant so much to her.
"So I was like, well, if there's one person that would make this engagement so special... I reached out to Taylor through her publicist, and I said, 'Hey, is there any way that I could convince you to make a two-second video just to say congrats?' And she literally, two days later, sent it over, and I was able to play it for her, and so, Taylor Swift was the cherry on top!"

CHAMPAIGN, Ill — Katin Houser and the Illini are off to a hot start against the Blue Devils. It the first drive of the game, Illinois methodically picked apart the Duke defense and ended the 9-play drive with a Collin Dixon touchdown.
Houser looked ultra efficient throwing 5-5 for 55 passing yards. His connection with Dixon was also on display, who caught three passes for 31 yards.

The Carolina Panthers have ******* embled their initial practice squad for the 2026 season, with a familiar face as the cherry on top.
As announced on Tuesday, the Panthers have signed guard Chandler Zavala to the group. The 27-year-old was waived on Monday to make room for fellow interior lineman Corey Bullock, who was claimed off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens.
Carolina selected Zavala, a North Carolina State University product, in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He's gone on to make 14 starts over 34 career games.

The Lakers have added Ziaire Williams to their roster this season on a one-year, $3 million deal to add some bench depth for wings who are also lob threats. For the Red Sox, this weekend offered a tantalizing opportunity: Take three out of four in the Bronx against the Yankees, and Boston would secure the season tiebreaker and leap its rival in the standings. It would've been a fulfilling culmination of sorts for a club that was, just a few months ago, very down and incredibly out.
Instead, the Sox were outplayed and outclassed in a disappointing series loss that likely complicates their path to postseason glory. An ugly 16-1 drubbing on Sunday, in which infielder Andruw Monasterio had to throw the ninth inning, was the frustrating cherry on the **** mer sundae in which the Yankees took three out of four. Believe it or not, Soleil Moon Frye turned 50 on August 6, 2026. Under the cash-and-stock deal, CHMI stockholders will receive 0.3063 shares of MITT common stock and $0.93 in cash per share, implying a value of $3.10 per CHMI share based on August 7 closing prices. This represents a 29% premium to CHMI's unaffected price and a 32% premium to its 30-day VWAP. Unanimously approved by both boards and slated to close in Q4 2026, the combined entity will operate as TPG Mortgage Investment Trust under CEO T.J. As the firm's new CEO previously ran its cruise business, naturally, Cramer had a lot to say about The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) on August 17th:
"I have been a big believer in Josh [D'Amaro]. First, congratulations to Chris Berman, ESPN legend. . .it's a good example of what, they have this ESPN and it's been, somehow been an albatross. James Gorman put them in a terrific situation in the interim. Do I want to own Disney? We owned it, it's very hard to own that stock because it's kept down by the cohort. Ridi arrived in Qusra late on Monday after traveling from ‌the U.S., fearing he could lose the property to Jewish settlers who have encircled three Palestinian homes in the village for more than a week, prompting U.S. condemnation.
Ridi, who grew up in the village in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, was taking a morning walk among his cherry and fig trees on Tuesday when a settler approached from the hill above, in an encounter filmed by Reuters, the only media outlet present.

Jeff Brohm enters his fourth year as the Louisville head coach with his fourth new quarterback to lead his offense. Brohm has batted above .500 so far with his additions at quarterback, but he will be going out on more of a limb this season by bringing in Lincoln Kienholz from Ohio State. Kienholz is unproven, as he has not been a starter and has had very limited time on the field compared to the other players Brohm has brought in. But the talent is undeniable, and Brohm has had plenty of success developing players in the past.
Kienholz was a highly-rated quarterback coming out of high school, though he was known more for his athleticism than for his ability as a thrower. He is essentially one of the best athletes to ever come out of the state of South Dakota, and he could probably suit up for Pat Kelsey in a pinch. His running ability is the factor in his game that will really test Brohm's abilities as an offensive mastermind.
During the spring, Linc (I'm really going to make this happen) looked the part throwing the ball to all areas of the field while also being decisive when he needed to run. It was immediately obvious that he is a high-level athlete with great burst on his first step. He has also made it clear during interviews that he likes to be a tough runner who likes to take hits. I think Brohm will lean into that, which is the opposite of what we saw with Tyler Shough, who was an above-average runner.
Depth at quarterback is a clear concern with no option who has taken a snap at this level. Davin Wydner looked outstanding in the spring game after holding his own throughout spring practice. But he was very average at West Georgia last season after not seeing the field as a walk-on at Ole Miss. Wydner does have great size and should be an option as a short-yardage quarterback. I don't know that he's shown enough to be a real option to lead the team if Kienholz is out for an extended period of time.
Briggs Cherry will hopefully see the field in mop-up duty at times this year. He rocketed up the recruiting rankings once he pledged to the Cards, and he looked very good for a true freshman in the spring. Cherry isn't a runner, but he moves well in the pocket and can get down the field to pick up a first down in a pinch. Where Cherry has looked his best is throwing the ball down the seams and other deeper intermediate throws. He also utilized the flats and tight ends very well in spring practice. It has been a long time since Brohm developed a freshman quarterback, but I think Cherry has the tools to be a good one for him.

His year could hardly have gone much better so far. "Only" the World Cup ******* le would probably have been the cherry on top of his career cream cake. After all, after Facundo Medina finished as World Cup runner-up with Argentina at the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico, he has now moved to the Bundesliga, joining Bayer Leverkusen for 20 million euros.
As a child, the now 27-year-old surely could never have dreamed that he would one day cost that much money. Medina grew up in Villa Fiorito, a poverty-stricken neighborhood in the greater Buenos Aires area. "I was born just eight blocks from Diego's (Maradona, editor's note) former house. His presence is everywhere there. Fiorito is a neighborhood that literally breathes football," the Argentine said during the World Cup. Like his idol, he grew up playing on dirt pitches.
To help his family and earn money, he collected cardboard. In an interview with ESPN, he looked back on that time: "I had other jobs. You had to survive in the neighborhood. I had to get a cart and work, like everyone else. I went out collecting cardboard with my uncles and the whole family." He said it was family work from Monday to Friday. Looking back, he said that he and his family always had something to eat, but they still had to work hard for it: "We would leave around four or five in the afternoon and come back around nine or ten at night."
That he has to work hard for his success was also clear at the start of his professional career. When River Plate released him in 2018, he moved to CA Talleres and made his breakthrough there. Via RC Lens, the defender eventually made the jump to Europe and fully developed into a key player at Olympique Marseille. This summer, he was finally rewarded with a place at the World Cup.
During the tournament, he also benefited from Nicolas Tagliafico not being able to start right away in the opening matches and was named in the starting lineup twice in the group stage, among other appearances. Against Austria (2-0), he set up Messi for the opening goal. He was also on the pitch in the final, but had to be substituted after 50 minutes because of injury.

Gio Reyna has a new home.
The United States international has spent most of his career in Germany, surging onto the scene as a Borussia Dortmund prospect and most recently suiting up for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Now, he is headed for France, joining RC Strasbourg on a contract that will take him through the 2031 season.
While still only 23, Reyna has appeared in each of the last two World Cup tournaments for the United States – though his lack of minutes in the 2022 tournament became a controversial moment after conversations between Reyna's parents – former U.S. internationals Claudio and Danielle Reyna – and then-U.S. manager Gregg Berhalter were made public.
Reyna was included on Mauricio Pochettino's roster for the 2026 tournament and was able to make the mildly surprising decision pay off, scoring with the outside of his foot to put the cherry on top of the United States' 4-1 win over Paraguay in the opening match.

Seattle got one more in the second inning thanks to a solo homer by Randy Arozarena to make it 3-0, but from there, Prielipp was completely locked in. It took him 55 pitches to get through the first two innings, and then 33 to finish the next 3.1 frames. That's the exact kind of development you want to see from a rookie starting pitcher and why so many people within the Twins are high on his long term outlook. The Mariners did mount another threat in the fifth inning with two men on and one out, but Prielipp successfully worked his way out of that jam and got Josh Naylor to start the sixth for a cherry on top.
On the other half of the game, the Twins had yet another slow start against an opposing starter. If it feels like Minnesota has been playing from behind often you'd be correct. Setting aside the three and four error slop-filled games last week, the Twins have scored just eight total runs in first five innings of games since the All-Star Break. They've taken the first lead in just two of those games as well. It was more of the same against Logan Gilbert and Seattle today.
The Twins had just one hit and baserunner through the first four innings before a Luke Keaschall solo shot got rid of the goose egg on the scoreboard. Trevor Larnach added a bomb of his own in the sixth, and then the Twins played some good small following a Brooks Lee leadoff double and finally worked their way to a 3-3 tie. Minnesota then had a great opportunity to take the lead in the eighth with two runners in scoring position and one out, but Kody Clemens and Royce Lewis struck out to end the threat.
Then, a weird ninth inning happened. With Andrew Morris in to try to send things to extras, Arozarena led things off of with a sharp double and advanced to third on a fly ball. Morris then intentionally walked Julio Rodriguez to put runners on the corners with one out. The Twins brought the infield in for Cal Raleigh, hoping to either get the runner at home or set up a quick double play, and they got exactly what they needed with a hard ground ball hit directly to Royce Lewis at first. Lewis, still fairly new to the position, went to step on first base, but seemed to realize the problem with that mid-play, as you can see below.

Brighton scored all of their goals from set pieces as they fought back from 2-0 down to clinch a 4-3 win against Strasbourg to wrap up their week-long training camp in Austria.
The Ligue 1 side went two goals up inside the first 14 minutes thanks to Martial Godo and Samuel Amo-Ameyaw, before the Seagulls hit back with two goals in six minutes.
Pascal Gross needed a second bite at the cherry to convert his penalty, before ******* isting team-mate Olivier Boscagli from a free-kick for an important equaliser.
Brighton substitute Eiran Cashin, who has returned from his loan spell at Championship side Blackburn Rovers, headed in from a corner early in the second half to complete the comeback for Fabian Hurzeler's side.
The clubs agreed to play an additional 30 minutes at the end of the usual 90-minute fixture to give the players more game time.

CHICAGO − Michigan football's first game in the 2025 season came against New Mexico, a relatively innocuous foe.
But former safety Brandyn Hillman didn't see it that way. In fact, after spending all fall hitting people at practice that wore the same colors as he did, the defensive back couldn't wait to knock somebody else around, especially a team that looked like New Mexico, wearing cherry and silver − not dissimilar to the scarlet and gray sported by the Wolverines' biggest rival.
"How I look at it is, they got the same colors as [expletive] Ohio State," he said of switching his mentality from hitting teammates to hitting opponents. "I just play it like that, to be honest."
For decades, "The Game" has been the most important week on the schedule in both Ann Arbor and Columbus. After Jim Harbaugh lost the first five matchups to OSU in the rivalry (and then U-M bowed out of the sixth in 2020 after an outbreak of COVID-19 in the locker room), he went into 2021 saying the Wolverines were going to beat Ohio State "or die trying."
U-M snapped a decade-long drought that year, which begun a four-year run, featuring two wins in each city. Fans want to hear that a coach is full of vitriol towards the Buckeyes, but when Kyle Whittingham spoke earlier this week at Big Ten Media Days, he didn't exactly play into the fans' emotions and match their energy for their rival.

Gloucester chief executive officer Alex Brown says there are "talks ongoing" about new investment in the Prem club.
The Cherry and Whites' most recent set of accounts, for the year to June 2025, showed an increase in losses from £516,355 to £2.91m.
"There is interest in Gloucester Rugby but our shareholders and board are very sensitive to who that investment might be," Brown told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"It has to be right for the club, for the future and we'll take every opportunity that comes but there are talks going on about further investment."
In May, Gloucester owner Martin St Quinton told the BBC there was "more appetite" to invest in Prem rugby now promotion and relegation had been formally scrapped for the 2026-27 season.

Economic issues have forced another franchisee of the nation's largest fast-food chain, Subway, to file for bankruptcy protection, as the restaurant sector continues to battle rising costs.
Subway Sandwich Shop franchisee Cherry ****** e Company, which operates three North Dakota locations, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to reorganize its businesses, according to BankruptcyObserver.
The Regent, N.D.-based Subway franchisee filed its Subchapter V petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of North Dakota on July 21, listing over $19,000 in ****** ets and over $1.8 million in debts, according to court documents.
The debtor did not give a reason for filing for bankruptcy in its petition. Debtor counsel Karl Johnson of MJB Law Firm PLLC was not immediately available for comment.
The debtor's largest unsecured creditors include the U.S. Small Business Administration, owed over $487,000; Dakota Western Bank, owed over $394,000, Grasshopper Bank, owed over $343,000; TVT Capital Source LLC, owed $240,000; Glenridge Capital LLC, owed over $130,000; and Byzfunder NY LLC, owed $128,000.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — NCAA Division II athletes would move immediately to the age-based eligibility model adopted in Division I under proposed emergency legislation announced Tuesday.
The Division II Management Council recommended the division's executive board adopt the model that would create a five-year period of eligibility, effective for the 2026-27 academic year. Under the proposal, an athlete's eligibility would begin upon initial full-time enrollment or the regular academic year immediately following the student-athlete's 19th birthday, whichever occurs earlier.
The model was approved in Division I last month and would replace the current Division II model giving athletes four seasons of competition to be completed within their first 10 semesters or 15 quarters of full-time enrollment.
"As we continue evaluating the future of Division II eligibility, our focus remains on creating legislation that is not only easy to understand but is also equitable and centered on the student-athlete experience," said Ben Cherry, faculty athletics representative at Cal State San Marcos and chair of the management council. "This age-based model simplifies the rules structure by providing clarity and consistency while continuing to support academic success and student-athlete well-being."
A series of lawsuits have been filed in state and federal courts since the Division I Council approved age-based eligibility June 23. Athletes who graduated from high school in 2022 and exhausted their four-year eligibility in the last academic year have argued they have been unfairly denied a fifth year of eligibility in 2026-27.

It’s done. Well, it’s been done for a while but now it’s official. Tottenham Hotspur formally announced the departure of defender Luka Vuskovic to Brighton & Hove Albion. Spurs will receive a guaranteed £48m in fees, and the contract includes a 20% sell-on whenever Brighton decide to sell Vuskovic in the future.
The move comes before the Croatian wunderkind even made an official first team appearance with Spurs. Tottenham agreed to purchasehe Vuskovic from his boyhood club Hajkuk Split when he was 15, but weren’t able to formally sign him until he turned 18. In the meantime, Vuskovic spent his time eternally on loan — first at Radomiak Radom in Poland, then a stint at Westerlo in Belgium before his impressive loan with Hamburg in the Bundesliga last season. That Hamburg season was amazing — he was named to the Bundesliga team of the season and by season’s end he had cemented his status as one of the most talented young players in Europe.
However, he still seemed seemingly stuck as a 4th or 5th choice CB at Tottenham Hotspur, and there were questions as to whether his skill set would transfer to Roberto De Zerbi’s new tactics at Spurs. Vuskovic is excellent in the air and positionally solid, but his speed is something of a concern in the fast-paced Premier League. Named to Croatia’s World Cup squad, Vuskovic and his agents started making noise this summer about wanting to leave the club, eventually leading to where we are now.
£50m+ for a 19-year-old defender who hasn’t played in the Premier League yet is very good money, and Tottenham made the decision to cash in on his potential rather than keep a potentially unhappy future star on the bench. Vuskovic clearly just wanted to play ball, and he’ll have a much better chance of getting regular playing time at Brighton (replacing Jan Paul van Hecke, now at Spurs) than if he stayed in north London. I would’ve wished for a buy-back clause in the deal, but getting 20% of any future sale is a nice cherry on top of the cake.
I wish I could’ve seen Luka play for us at least once, but that’s not to be. Tottenham made a business decision with Vuskovic, and considering the outlay they’ve already spent on transfers this summer, it’s not a dumb move from a business perspective. But we’ll always be wondering what might have happened if we had stuck to our guns.

Anthony Moura was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI, Jackson Healy singled, tripled and scored and Garrett Mahoney doubled and scored for Hudson. Will Hastings sealed the win with three innings of scoreless and hitless relief for Post 100, fanning two.
Chase Eggen was 3 for 3 for Main South, including his 100th career hit, while Beckett Bailey doubled and drove in a pair.
Cherry Valley 13, Northborough 10: Jacoby Buniowski was 3 for 4 with a triple, RBI and four runs and Andrew Cloutier (2 for 5, 2 RBIs) and Andrew Lancette (2 for 4, 4 RBIs) each homered as visiting Post 443 (9-10) scored six runs in the top of the seventh to get past Post 234 (1-18).
Patrick Shilale and Nolan Remington (2 runs) each had two hits for Cherry Valley.
