The Green Bay Packers' defense hasn't had Micah Parsons on the field this season. However, it found another way to shut the door on Sunday night. The Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 23-13 at Lambeau Field, holding Dak Prescott to 34-of-54 passing for 258 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Notably, it was the third straight game Green Bay has held an opponent to 14 points or fewer, a feat that prompted former Packers QB Kurt Benkert to highlight Green Bay's defense on X.
Benkert focused on how the Packers were doing great teamwork on defense.
He wrote that seeing the defense "schematically causing problems for high-powered offenses" has him "really excited for what December and January football can look like for them."

The overall performance certainly wasn't perfect, but the Green Bay Packers still rolled to a two-score win over the visiting Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football" from Lambeau Field in Week 6. Brian Schottenheimer's team was well-rested after playing on Thursday night in Week 5 and not lacking motivation after a humbling home defeat in primetime, but the Packers still raced out to a 17-0 lead and ended up leading the game by two scores for most of the night. Matt LaFleur's team has won three straight games and is 4-2 overall, an acceptable record given the ups and downs of the early season.
Three big things from the Packers' win over the Cowboys:
Facing Dak Prescott, Javonte Williams, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens without Micah Parsons, Edgerrin Cooper and Javon Hargrave provided a big test for Jonathan Gannon's defense, and the group passed it with flying colors. The Chargers brought in OC Mike McDaniel to revitalize their offense after he did wonders with Tua Tagovailoa in Miami. Tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt are now healthy as well, so it's full speed ahead for Justin Herbert, running back Omarion Hampton and receivers Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston. I'm targeting Johnston late in all my drafts, as he's the Chargers' undisputed deep threat with Herbert one of the NFL's best deep passers. Johnston is a steal at his current ADP.
Dallas has the NFL's most fearsome wide receiver duo in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, plus a surgically accurate quarterback in Dak Prescott. Javonte Williams is also coming off a career year as the team's lead running back, and his powerful style should continue to be a perfect complement to the high-flying pass game. All four players are worth targeting, but tight end Jake Ferguson is a fade at his current ADP as his game is touchdown-reliant and lacks the verticality of, say, Isaiah Likely or Juwan Johnson.
Ben Johnson has a case to be the NFL's brightest offensive mind, so it's wise to load up on Bears in drafts. D'Andre Swift is a perfect RB2 if you go WR heavy early. Former Ohio State safety Caleb Downs has gotten plenty of reps against his fellow Dallas Cowboys teammates in training camp since being drafted into the NFL. His conclusion? Downs said one of his former Buckeyes teammates already plays at the level of Cowboys wide receivers Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens.
Appearing on "The Pivot Podcast" Aug. 21, NFL running back Fred Taylor asked how Jeremiah Smith's game compares to that of Lamb and Pickens.
"[Smith's] not going to like this, probably. He's there," Downs told Taylor.
Downs continued: "He's different, though. [Pickens'] ball skills, everything is crazy, Ceedee as a route runner and as an all-around football player. But Jeremiah has, when you say like 'freakishly athletic' and then match that with a really good ball player too. It's different," Downs said.
Both Downs and Smith finished within the top 10 of the 2025 Heisman Trophy voting. Smith was sixth and Downs ninth. They played together for two seasons at Ohio State, winning the national championship together in the 2024-25 season.

The third-year receiver spoke to members of the media after Monday's practice in Oxnard, California, and explained that Miles Austin and Amari Cooper's history with No. 19 played a role in his decision to wear the number. Flournoy also shared his hopes of establishing a new Cowboys tradition with the number, saying, "[They were] kind of one of the reasons I picked 19…Miles Austin was in 19. Amari Cooper was in 19…they got the 88 tradition. Let's do the 19 tradition."
Flournoy was, of course, referring to arguably the most iconic number in Cowboys history. For generations, No. 88 has represented the highest standard for a receiver in Dallas, carrying both prestige and enormous expectations. First came Drew Pearson, followed by Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant, and, currently, CeeDee Lamb. Together, the four have combined for four Super Bowl ***** les and 16 Pro Bowl selections, with Pearson and Irvin enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

When the Cowboys hired Christian Parker as defensive coordinator, they weren't just seeking a new coach. They wanted someone capable of rebuilding a defense that finished 2025 as one of the NFL's worst units, while also developing a young secondary packed with potential. With NFL training camps fully ramped up and the preseason on the horizon, there is no shortage of various quick-hit highlight videos popping up on social media. This certainly stands true for the Dallas Cowboys, and one specific training camp drill done by CeeDee Lamb quickly grabbed the attention of fans league-wide.
Wide receivers, in particular, have been known to follow specific routines in their daily preparation for the season. Some may have a set number of ***** they catch each day, while others utilize unique drills to help work on catching passes in coverage. But for Lamb, his drill included a large white net covering his entire face/helmet while catching passes, as Cowboys reporter Patrik Walker first revealed.
It was unquestionably a unique (and I'd go out on a limb and guess very rarely seen) approach to a pass-catching drill. It also sparked some questions and speculation about exactly why Lamb was using the net as part of his training.
While it hasn't been confirmed, the popular theory is that Lamb took this approach to address the sunlight issue that's been a topic of conversation in late-afternoon games at AT&T Stadium. That thought process makes sense, as the sun directly in players' eyes has caused a few notable issues in previous seasons.
In a bit of positive news for Cowboys fans who have been bothered by this, owner Jerry Jones told Sam Gannon of KDFW Fox 4 that he's giving "a thought" to tinting the windows, which would be a significant step toward addressing the sunlight issue during games.

While it hasn't been confirmed, the popular theory is that Lamb took this approach to address the sunlight issue that's been a topic of conversation in late-afternoon games at AT&T Stadium. That thought process makes sense, as the sun directly in players' eyes has caused a few notable issues in previous seasons.
In a bit of positive news for Cowboys fans who have been bothered by this, owner Jerry Jones told Sam Gannon of KDFW Fox 4 that he's giving "a thought" to tinting the windows, which would be a significant step toward addressing the sunlight issue during games.
