The Fever hope to pick up where they left off against the Storm at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Tuesday (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN.)
First in the Eastern Conference standings at 17-10, the Fever are 7-3 in their past 10 games. The Big 3 of Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell all represented Indiana in the WNBA All-Star game. Clark is averaging 21 points and 7.9 ***** ists. Mitchell is the team's leading scorer with 23.3 points a game. Boston is adding 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds a game.
The Seattle Storm (6-23) hope to end a three-game home slide. Natisha Hiedeman is averaging 15.6 points and 4.6 ***** ists for the Storm.
The teams play for the third time this season. Clark scored 45 points in the Fever's 110-107 victory over the Storm on July 17.

The Brandon Aiyuk saga has gone on for far too long. A contract dispute that eventually landed in his favor hasn't gone swimmingly for the San Francisco 49ers. Tearing his ACL and MCL just seven games into that deal, he hasn't been around the franchise since.
Last year, they placed him on the PUP list. From there, they voided his guaranteed money for 2026 and added him to the reserve/left squad list. Since then, it's been all downhill for the former first-round pick who remains employed with the team.
While he remained quiet for most of his time away from the 49ers, that trend has changed in recent months. Making multiple videos on social media, Aiyuk has gone on lengthy tirades against the organization.
Calling out everyone, from the coaching staff to the general manager, the former All-Pro selection has left no stone unturned. But while he has made his desire to play for the Washington Commanders abundantly clear, it hasn't led to major changes.
Mike Florio of NBC Sports, though, believes the way forward for Aiyuk is relatively simple. On the latest "Pro Football Talk" alongside co-host Chris Simms, he expressed his frustration over the choices the former Pro Bowler was making.

Tennessee football hopes to land in-state standout Asa Barnes as a 2027 backfield sidekick to David Gabriel Georges.
Barnes is a three-star running back from Martin Westview. He is ranked the No. 36 running back and No. 551 player overall in the 2027 class. But he's coveted by the Vols to a degree beyond his recruit rating.
Barnes will announce his commitment at 5 p.m. ET on July 29.

Enterprise AI agents were meant to be the breakout software offering for 2026, yet instead they've become one of the major sources of buyer distrust. According to Anaconda and Forrester research, over 88% of AI agent pilots never reach production, as confirmed by independent polls from a16z and MIT Sloan's CIO panel, while Gartner predicts that more than 40% of agentic AI initiatives will be discontinued entirely by 2027 due to questionable ROI.
Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) walked into the gap between agent hype and agent reality when it placed its growth narrative on Agentforce, and by 2026, that bet has made Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) one of the worst-performing components of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, down around 31.48% year to date.
The immediate cause appears to be a credibility problem, not a demand issue. Bernstein downgraded Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) to Sector Weight from Outperform on July 9, removing its price target completely and citing poor customer feedback on Agentforce in particular. According to **** yst Jackson Ader, the released data doesn't yet indicate growing momentum, and a recent CIO survey found Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) to be "a standout for the wrong reasons."
That said, this interpretation is not uniform, and the debate on the market is serious. On July 14, Goldman Sachs reiterated its Buy rating and $242 price target, expecting organic growth to pick up in the third quarter as more details on AI monetization become available at Salesforce's Agentforce event in September. Goldman's more constructive reading is based on management's own acknowledgment of headwinds in Tableau, Commerce, and Marketing, which the firm sees as realistic rather than concerning, arguing that Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) is being open about a 12-to-24-month drag on its organic growth algorithm rather than covering it up.
Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM)'s historical valuation decline looks to be the most mispriced aspect of the market story. Shares are currently trading at a compressed forward earnings multiple of only 10.83x, a substantial drop from the stock's five-year historical average of over 127x. The disparity is even more obvious when compared to prominent peers such as ServiceNow, which trades at a forward P/E of around 20.43x and requires consistent revenue growth above 18% through 2028 to maintain its valuation premium. Salesforce's current valuation of less than 11x forecast earnings is in near-total deadlock, despite the company's strong free cash flow generation and substantial enterprise data integration.

The Washington Commanders begin training camp on Wednesday, but on Monday, one day before veterans report, they delivered some surprising news. Washington was parting ways with first-year tight ends coach Ben Steele.
It was shocking news at first, but his recent arrest violated team rules, leading the Commanders to fire Steele.
The first thought here is the timing. It's less than ideal. Washington is looking for a new position coach just as training camp begins. However, there's no need to worry, as it appears the Commanders already have their replacement on staff.
Steele was arrested on June 7. Washington held its mandatory minicamp from June 16-18. The Commanders placed Steele on leave, and longtime NFL star and five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Wes Welker worked with Washington's tight ends. Welker joined Washington in 2025 as a personnel ****** yst. This offseason, he was moved to an offensive ****** istant position, allowing him to help out at multiple spots.
It now appears that Welker will be Washington's new tight ends coach. Head coach Dan Quinn meets with the media on Tuesday, where it's expected he will have some sort of announcement. Of course, Welker working with Washington's tight ends during the minicamp doesn't mean he'll be the pick, but it makes the most sense. He served as a wide receivers coach for the 49ers and Dolphins before coming to Washington, so he has full-time coaching experience.

Rigg has clearly been on a fitness programme over the summer and has come back a couple of pounds stronger, whereas Le Fée has picked up where he left off at the back end of last season, scoring a fantastic solo strike against Liverpool on Saturday night.
The few games that we played last season without Xhaka in the starting eleven showed just how much we struggle without him, and although he's a certainty to be the first name on the team sheet most weeks, he's coming into the twilight of his career and will not be able to play up to potentially fifty games if we have a successful season.

The St. Louis Cardinals entered Monday night's game against the Chicago Cubs with an urgent need to turn their recent downward spiral around. The Chicago Cubs and specifically their bats seemed determined to not allow that to happen.
Matthew Liberatore started the game for the Cardinals who planned to piggyback his start with Hunter Dobbins for the final half of the game. David Peterson, who the Cardinals hit hard in their last encounter, made that seem like a distant memory as he held St. Louis and their struggling offense to a minimum of opportunities.
The Cubs scored on Matthew Liberatore in each of the first 3 innings. In the top of the 1st inning, Liberatore walked Pete Crow-Armstrong, but then picked him off of first to the delight of the "Tarps Off" crowd in right field. Chicago got the last laugh, though, as Suzuki and Bregman hit back-to-back doubles giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead.
Chicago would score again in the top of the 2nd inning as Nico ****** ner led off with a single. After Ian Happ struck out, Dansby Swanson singled giving Chicago runners at first and second with just one out. Amaya then smacked a single to right doubling the Cubs lead to 2-0.
The Cardinals would get one run back in the bottom of the 2nd inning when José Fermín would become the Fermínator muscling up for a 407 foot shot into Big Mac Land reducing the Cubs lead to 2-1.

The Cincinnati Bengals made major changes to their defense this offseason, going big with the Dexter Lawrence blockbuster trade and spending money on some solid free-agent starters.
By doing so, the Bengals acknowledged their plan to build even an average defense through the draft didn't work. Now, they believe they have a good enough defense to seize on quarterback Joe Burrow's window to get them back to the Super Bowl. The pressure is on the Bengals' 2025 first-round draft pick after a disappointing rookie season, which was doomed from the get-go when Stewart made a boneheaded decision to hold out over language in his contract. Stewart was already a risky, boom-or-bust pick that many teams passed on, because of his inability to consistently get to the quarterback in college. Now it's time to find out if the Bengals are going to get any production out of him – or whether player personnel director Duke Tobin whiffed on another defensive pick.
Stewart is a major x-factor on an overhauled defensive line, because his performance this season will determine if the Bengals have to spend more money or draft capital on edge rusher again next year. The Bengals didn't pick up defensive end Myles Murphy's fifth-year option for 2027, in part, because they want to see if Stewart can replace him.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Three-time Pro Bowler Jamal Adams says he's joining the Minnesota Vikings on the eve of training camp.
Adams announced the move on social media Monday night, posting "Year 10" and the Vikings' "skol" hashtag.
Adams has played multiple positions during his nine-year NFL career, including 17 games at linebacker with the Las Vegas Raiders last season.
Adams was the seventh overall pick of the 2017 NFL draft by the Jets and twice was a Pro Bowler in New York. He was a first-team All-Pro safety in 2019 went to the Pro Bowl again in 2020 with Seattle before struggling with injuries.
Adams played a combined five games with Detroit and Tennessee in 2024.

The Yankees overcame Max Fried's season-low-tying start of three innings with four-run frames in the fourth and eighth to take Monday's series-opening game at the American League East-leading Chicago White Sox, a 9-4 win, rebounding from Sunday's 11-4 loss at the Philadelphia Phillies.
Fried's second start back from injury mirrored his season-worst outing May 13 at the Baltimore Orioles, a 7-0 loss, in which he allowed three runs on five hits in three innings. This time, Fried -- after returning from a two-month absence due to a left elbow bone bruise with one hit in five innings during last Wednesday's 5-3 10-inning loss against the Pittsburgh Pirates -- also allowed three runs on five hits and exited following three frames. Pulled after 39 strikes on 66 pitches while fanning four and walking two, Fried (4-3, 3.23 ERA) fell victim to a three-run first inning in which he started slow, allowing four of his five hits. Fortunately for Fried, the Yankees' bullpen and offense picked him up, but this was a step back from how he looked in his debut last week.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was chief among New York's reinforcements, tying the game with a two-run double in the fourth inning that scored Paul Goldschmidt and Jasson Domínguez. Chisholm subsequently stole third base and scored when Spencer Jones grounded out to second with one out. When the Yankees led the White Sox (55-50) by a run in the eight inning, Chisholm's RBI single to score Domínguez padded the 6-4 lead and eventually break the game open. Chisholm's 2-for-4, two-RBI effort from the sixth spot in the order was the type of performance that New York needed to avoid a series-opening dud as he brought his slash line to .226/.299/.414 with 45 RBI and 29 steals through 99 games this season.
Between Chisholm's highlights, Ben Rice's go-ahead RBI single in the seventh inning with two outs to score Amed Rosario gave the Yankees the much-needed push after the White Sox tied the game at 4-4 with one out in the fifth. Rice, whose 2-for-4 evening included a leadoff walk that sparked New York's fourth inning, need to be the guy in this lineup without Aaron Judge and met the moment as the second-batting designated hitter Monday. Through 101 games, Rice is slashing .275/.363/.585 with 73 RBI.
With Cody Bellinger out for the next month and change due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Max Schuemann's second start in left field saw him also lead off but underwhelm. Schuemann's two-game glimpse is an 0-for-7 sample size after Monday's 0-for-5 result out of the No. 1 spot in the order, which only adds to questions for Aaron Boone and the Yankees with the MLB trade deadline around the corner.

NBA insider Shams Charania recently revealed details of the package that was offered from Golden State to Milwaukee for Giannis Antetokounmpo before he landed with the Miami Heat. According to Charania, the Warriors offered four first-round picks to land Antetokounmpo, an offer that was ultimately rebuffed by the Bucks.
Charania also revealed that Golden State was in talks to land Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics but wasn't comfortable giving up the same amount of draft capital that they offered for Giannis.
All in all, both Brown and Antetokounmpo wound up with other contenders, leaving the Warriors searching for another true star to pair with Stephen Curry.

The Diamondbacks dropped the opener of The Most Important Series of the Season™, losing 3-2 in ten innings to the Pirates. Merrill Kelly pitched well, and Max Kepler gave Arizona a 2-0 lead. But a throwing error by Kelly allowed a key Pittsburgh run, and Juan Morillo then gave up the tying score, which pushed the contest into extras. The Diamondbacks were unable to take advantage of a major Pirates gaffe, stranding the Manfred Man. A ball which was clanked off the glove of Ildemaro Vargas let the home team walk off, but the key stat tonight was the D-backs going just 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position. And one of those hits didn't score a run either.
But to focus on the positives. Merrill Kelly continued his resurgence. He finished June with an ERA above six (6.11, to be precise). But since the calendar turned to July, he has been much improved. Tonight, he allowed only an unearned run over 5.2 innings, on four hits – all of which were singles. He walked one and struck out six. [That is still an area of concern. Through nineteen starts last year, he had 7 or more K's eight times: he hasn't gone past six at all this year] He did hit a batter, Pirates' rookie Esmerlyn Valdez wearing a pitch around the wrist area, and having to leave the game in obvious discomfort. Hopefully, there's no serious damage there.
Through five innings, both Kelley and his opposite number – confusingly, called M. Keller – were basically cruising. Each side has managed to advance only one runner past first-base to that point. In the top of the second, Max Kepler led off with a single, advanced to third on a pair of outs, but was stranded there when Ildemaro Vargas grounded out. For the Pirates, they got a two-out single in the bottom of the fifth, and the runner stole second before being left there. Kelly even got a pick-off, ending the fourth by nailing the pinch-runner who had come in to replace Valdez. Rather embarrassing for them, I imagine.
Both pitchers were also being highly efficient. Through five innings, Keller had needed just 63 pitches, and Kelly less than a handful more at 67. I particularly enjoyed this strikeout by Kelly which ended the fifth inning. None of the six pitches in the zone, and zero contact by the batter on his three swings. However, my hopes of a quick recap foundered thereafter, as neither starting pitcher would make it through the sixth. Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Perdomo singled to lead off the top of the frame, though Gabriel Moreno would strike out looking, on a master-class of ABS by the Pirates catcher, which reversed two ******* to strikes, by very narrow margins.
[Conversely, Moreno was 0-for-2 in his challenges tonight. Though it is worth noting that the team's overall challenge rate when on defense is still 66.7%, significantly better than the MLB average of 58.1%.]

Vita Vea's trade request should put the San Francisco 49ers on the phone with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
NFL Network reported that Vea asked to be moved after extension talks stalled. The two-time Pro Bowler is entering the final year of his contract with a $17 million base salary, giving San Francisco a rare chance to address one of its most uncertain position groups with a proven difference-maker.
The 49ers may also fit Vea's preferred destination. Football **** yst Ted Nguyen reported on X, citing a source, that Vea "wants to go to a California team or the Raiders." A return to the Bay Area would carry obvious appeal for Vea, who attended Milpitas High School before becoming the No. 12 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Guskov (18-4-1) stepped up on 14 days' notice to replace KhalilRountree against Ankalaev (21-2-1) in the main event of theUltimate Fighting Championship's recent Fight Night in AbuDhabi. Guskov never quite found momentum as Ankalaev slowly andsteadily picked him apart. The former UFC champion eventually tookthe Uzbek contender down and finished him with ground-and-pound inthe final round.

The Seahawks plan to waive running back Kenny McIntosh, Brady Henderson of ESPN reports.
McIntosh currently is on the active/physically unable to perform list. He tore the ACL in his left knee during a training camp practice 366 days ago.
The Seahawks made McIntosh a seventh-round pick in 2023, and he injured his knee in his first training camp. He played only 13 special teams snaps in three games as a rookie.
In 2024, McIntosh appeared in every game, playing 75 offensive snaps and 173 on special teams. He rushed for 172 yards on 31 carries and caught three passes for 22 yards, while returning six kickoffs for 153 yards.
The Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price in the first round and signed Emanuel Wilson in free agency. Eventually, Zach Charbonnet will return from his torn ACL.

Morgan Stanley kept Alibaba (BABA) stock as a "top pick" ahead of late-August earnings. ****** yst Gary Yu made the call over two weeks after cutting his target to $180 from $190.
That target sits roughly 60% above where BABA shares closed on Friday at $112.14. Thus, Wall Street is telling clients the stock is worth far more than buyers are currently willing to pay.
Yu lowered his Alibaba target in early July. He still kept an overweight rating on the stock.
Other banks pivoted in the same direction. HSBC cut its target to $170 from $176 in July. The bank still maintained its buy rating.
Daiwa moved earlier, cutting to $175 from $200 on June 24. The firm pointed to weak sales during China's 618 shopping festival.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Sunday said President Trump likes the daily strikes on Iran, which paused going into the weekend after nearly two straight weeks of attacks on Iranian infrastructure.
"I think we ought to continue the blockade and starve them out. I think we ought to bomb Pickaxe Mountain and try to reach what's underneath it, " Kennedy told CBS News's Margaret Brennan during his appearance on "Face the Nation."
"The president likes the daily attacks," Kennedy added. "He believes that sometimes you have to kill a few chickens to scare the monkeys."
Kennedy compared Iran's leaders to American serial killer Son of Sam and cult leader Charles Manson, calling them "more than mildly insane." But he added that the U.S. should not "just cut and run."
"If we can stand the pain of the rising cost of energy, we need to stay the course," he said. "At least for a few more months. I also don't think we need to send in troops. That's my opinion, for what it's worth."

New England Patriots rookie edge rusher Gabe Jacas did not report to training camp.
The second-round pick defender has still yet to sign his rookie contract. It's a concerning situation with no end in sight, although Patriots coach Mike Vrabel did offer a little optimism when speaking with media members on Friday.
"We're continuing to work through the contract," Vrabel said. "I think those have been positive between the club and his representatives. Hopefully, we'll get him in here sooner rather than later. I'm not going to put a timeline on it or a timeframe, but I've spoken to Gabe personally. Excited to get him in when he's under contract."
When pressed for a reason for the hold-up, Vrabel wouldn't give a straight answer.
"Every contract is unique, every contract is different, and it'll get resolved. I'm positive that it will," said Vrabel.

In case one lives under a rock, the Philadelphia 76ers landed LeBron James in free agency. The future Hall of Famer, 41, is set to enter his 24th season in the league, but he is still one of the game's best after averaging 20.9 points, 7.2 ****** ists, and 6.1 rebounds in the 2025-26 season. His presence immediately transforms the Sixers in so many ways.
Let's just start with his versatility. James can play all five positions on the floor and can still stuff a box score no matter where he's placed in terms of his position and whoever is on the floor with him. The way James can just grab a rebound and immediately take it the other way and start a transition opportunity is going to be important for this group to take advantage of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe for easy buckets.
Another thing that stands out is when Joel Embiid inevitably has to miss games. The presence of James makes it easy at the center spot now. James can now slide to the 5 in some lineups to replace Embiid as he can help Adem Bona and Ariel Hukporti fill the void. James will be able to play that spot and continue to play at a high level as there will be plenty of nights when he will have the mismatch, even at this stage of his career.
Shooting will be somewhat of an issue as it isn't like James lights it up from 3-point range, and Embiid isn't a knockdown shooter, but Maxey, Edgecombe, and, at times, Jaylen Brown can pick up the slack from there. The Sixers should still be able to have enough ****** ing with the lineup thanks to those three and they should be able to find efficiency and a groove with those lineups.
James is the ultimate player to have on the floor as he is the Queen piece on the chessboard. Coach Nick Nurse and his staff will have plenty of ways to use him on the floor and in different lineup combinations. There will be times he's bringing the ball up, or playing off the ball on the wing, as well as playing up front, and he will be effective in every spot. Truly. There isn't anything James can't do in this game, even when considering where he's at in his career.
