Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is enjoying the bye week with his wife, Taylor Swift.
After the Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27 in Week 4, he flew to Manhattan to meet up with Swift. The couple celebrated his birthday with dinner at Torrisi, which Kelce called "one of his favorite spots" on this week's "New Heights" podcast episode.
"It was a fun day. Got some food out here in New York," the 37-year-old said. "Got to hang with Tay," while noting they skipped birthday cake but ordered multiple desserts.

Kerry Kennedy chronicles the awe-inspiring life of her mother, Ethel Kennedy, in her new book, Ethel Kennedy: The Extraordinary Life and Bold Legacy
While Ethel saw her fair share of tragedy — including the ***** assination of her husband, Robert F. Kennedy, and the deaths of two of her 11 children — she never wavered
"She had a lot to live for," Kerry tells PEOPLE of her mother, who died at age 96 in 2024
No matter what the hit Hulu show Love Story says, Ethel Kennedy would never deny anyone a meal. Her daughter Kerry, 67, scoffs at the very idea that she'd have a breakfast "sign-up" sheet, as depicted in the series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette's relationship. "She's all about, 'Come in. Let me get you some food,' " Kerry says of Ethel's perennial mothering. " 'You've already eaten? Let me get you some cake. You've already had cake? Here's some chocolate.' "
The mother of 11 was three months pregnant with her youngest, Rory, when her husband, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, was shot on June 5, 1968, and died the next day, just five years after his brother President John F. Kennedy's ***** assination. In the aftermath of twin tragedies, she became the one who carried the torch, and her family.

Birthday weekends rarely look this magical, and Kate Hudson can agree on that. The actress has shared a photo carousel of her daughter's birthday from a theme park celebration, and the smiles are impossible to miss. Wands at the ready, robes swishing, and a birthday cake waiting back home, the day had it all.
Mom to three kids, Kate Hudson celebrated her daughter's birthday with a weekend outing at the Universal Studios theme park. She posted a carousel on Instagram with a short caption. She wrote, "Best weekend celebrating the best girl!!! Thank you unistudios for the 'best ride ever!'"
Birthday girl, Rani Rose, made the most of every stop, grinning happily at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In one short clip, the 8-year-old stood in a dimly lit shop with a wand in her hand. In a recreation of the wand scene in the "Harry Potter" movies, Rani's hair glowed in the spotlight when she got her wand.
Another photo showed Rani with her friend in matching Gryffindor robes with maroon and gold lining and striped headbands. Both pointed their wands straight at the camera, grinning. Elsewhere, a Hogwarts street sign towered over a cobbled square, with Rani posing underneath.
The day was not all spells. Hudson's carousel also showed kids posing outside Super Nintendo World. A wide shot captured the Mario-themed plaza under a bright blue sky. A group selfie from a wooden ride car showed Hudson with her daughter beaming behind the camera.

OK, if you were on the Internet at all this weekend, you probably heard about Taylor Swift's surprise appearance during her pal Dakota Johnson's SNL episode. The news went around, partially because Taylor showing up anywhere will garner headlines, but also because Johnson's third appearance on the sketch comedy series hit a separate weird milestone: midway through it, she turned 37.
SNL has shouted out cast member birthdays before, but this was a much rarer situation since it literally happened during the episode. As part of the festivities, at the end of the night, Taylor Swift came out and busted out a freaking beautiful birthday cake. I at first thought this might be a Swift birthday original, and while it proved to be store bought, it was absolutely a carefully thought out gesture. Here's the moment:
Apparently, this was a Taylor Swift gesture, and one the cake baker who made the Tiffany's box-colored cake had no idea what would happen on Saturday Night Live. One other detail I didn't know but is pretty cool though? Apparently she was mimicking Swift's own handwriting when she wrote the birthday message on the cake. Here's an up-close-and-personal look at the cake.

A social media baking influencer has gone viral for breaking her granite countertop with chocolate in a comical fail moment.
The woman, known on Instagram and TikTok as Lily P Crumbs, did this by banging an 11-pound chocolate bar against her stone countertop, resulting in a hilarious viral video.
Alex George is a cooking and baking influencer, known on social media as Lily P Crumbs. Her content mostly focuses on recipes for sweet treats, such as cookies, cakes, brownies and such, and her videos have gone viral a few times before this incident.
However, George's most recent viral moment came from something that was not a recipe at all. On July 22nd, she posted a video of herself breaking her granite countertop with an 11-pound chocolate bar.
In over two months, the video racked up 10.3 million views on Instagram, 6.7 million views on TikTok, and hundreds of thousands of likes and thousands of comments on both platforms.

All eyes will be on the September Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Unless there is extraordinary news, like collapsing crude oil prices, I am fully expecting a key Fed interest rate hike.
The Fed never fights market rates. Since market rates have risen globally due to higher energy prices, and after the ECB hike, more central banks are expected to follow and raise key interest rates.
The big news is expected to be the FOMC statement that may signal whether or not the Fed is "one and done" or signal that more key interest rate hikes will be forthcoming. Under new Fed Chairman Warsh, the Fed may not provide good guidance, since Warsh wants Wall Street to take its cue from market rates.
Related: Louis Navellier is buying 3 headline-making stocks, including Google
The good news is that with a hike already baked into the cake, there shouldn't be a negative market reaction on September 16. In other words, don't fear the reaper because even if interest rates rise and market volatility increases, fundamentally superior stocks continue to outperform. Ahead of the meeting, however, I suspect the stock market will trade sideways.

The USC Trojans host the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in their third game of the 2026 season. USC continues to make its way through the cupcake portion of its schedule, two weeks before the season-defining September 26 game against Oregon. USC needs to continue to shake off rough edges, become more disciplined, and work toward a state of more complete preparedness for Oregon.
The Oregon Ducks did not look good against Boise State, but Boise State is a much tougher opponent than the Fresno State team USC shut out last week. Louisiana is even more of a cream puff than either of those teams, so while Oregon's struggles might encourage USC fans, the reality is that the Ducks faced a tough opponent. USC can't put too much stock in what it does against Louisiana. What matters is establishing good habits so that they become second nature. Improving the level of discipline throughout the roster is, in many ways, the main priority for this game, alongside not getting anyone injured two weeks before playing Oregon.

Welcome home Notre Dame. The Irish are the No. 3 team in the country and they will host… Rice. After a week of reminding people that a 28 point win over a Big 10 team that the Irish were 21 point favorites over is a GOOD thing, we arrive in cupcake land and are looking to commit one of the seven deadly sins.
A win is a win is a win, but for Notre Dame to stay out of the "what's happening" conversations, they have to be gluttonous.
It's the home opener, so let's have some fun out there.
When: Sunday, September 12 at 3:30 PM EST
Where: Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, Indiana
How to watch: NBC and Peacock
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Notre Dame is currently a 44.5 point favorite over Wisconsin with an over/under of 55.5 points.

Less than 24 hours away from Purdue's week two game against Wake Forest it's time for a final look back at Purdue's week 1 game against Indiana State. This week I asked you all to tell me if Purdue's performance against the Sycamores changed your expectations for the rest of the season. It seemed like a good thing to ask given that I had already asked all of you how you graded Purdue's week 1 performance. The results were not great if you're Purdue.
As you can see the majority of respondents graded Purdue at a C. That's not what you want out of week 1 when you're playing a cupcake. So given that C grade I was curious if that changed expectations up or down. Of course. there was also the option for no change. So, let's take a look at the results.
A whopping 76% of respondents didn't change their expectations after week 1 which honestly seems very reasonable, rationale, and not at all okay for this current internet age. Those 76% are the well adjusted respondents. 22% revised their expectations down and those are the people who likely graded Purdue much lower than a C. Honestly, I don't blame them. Then, there are the true sickos. 2% of respondents actually raised their expectations after week 1. I can only ******* ume Fame Ejiobe blew them away and their are pushing all their chips in on him. This time tomorrow we will have a much better idea of who this Purdue team is.
If you'd like to place a wager on tomorrow's Purdue vs. Wake Forest game the line is currently Purdue +2.5 and the O/U in 49.5 from our friends at FanDuel. If you're going to gamble please do so responsibly and don't gamble money that you aren't prepared to lose. Stay safe my friends.

The familiar faces arrived one by one, climbing the staircase into The Pool on Thursday evening as the Kering Foundation's fifth annual Caring for Women Dinner got underway.
Benicio Del Toro was among the first, followed by Julianne Moore, Colman Domingo, Pamela Anderson, Alix Earle and Camila Morrone. Inside, guests circled the bar over ****** tails as trays of spicy tuna bites, fried artichokes and crab cakes made the rounds. Every so often, the VIPs would be summoned to a back room before reappearing in the crowd just before dinner.

The Serie A weekend is now over, and with today's two matches, the third round of the league will be as well. We are still only in the very early stages of this season, but a few verdicts have already come in.
Watch the entire Serie BKT live with LaB Channel on OneFootball: subscribe for just €9.99 a month!
We know, for example, that as predicted, Inter are still the team to beat. It was already clear on paper, but the pitch has confirmed it. Three wins from three matches - nothing extraordinary so far - plus the icing on the cake of that crazy comeback against Napoli: an exciting run, top of the table alongside Roma, and the feeling, this time for real, of having not quite two full teams but at least plenty of quality alternatives available.
Against the Azzurri, Chivu called on Thuram, Curtis Jones, Carlos Augusto, Çalhanoglu and Bonny from the bench, managing to turn around the 0-2 lead Allegri had built. Just a few days before their Champions League opener, the Romanian coach allowed himself the luxury of rotation against the runners-up of Italy, and still came away with three points (however hard-fought they were).
This opening stretch of Serie A has also told us that the two genuine challengers to Inter in the Scudetto race seem to be Roma and Como, with Juve and Milan still in the midst of a full revamp and a Napoli side that is changing its identity and already sits 6 points off the top.

This has been a history-packed year for Wall Street, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC), and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) romping to new highs, and the largest-ever initial public offering taking shape. But the swearing in of Fed Chair Kevin Warsh on May 22 arguably takes the cake.
Jerome Powell's successor vowed to lead a reform-oriented central bank and hasn't veered from that promise over the last three months. Since taking the reins, Warsh has shelved forward-looking guidance from Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting statements and commissioned five task forces to aid the Fed in its conduct of monetary policy.

Linda Purl did not spend her 71st birthday surrounded by a red carpet, cameras or an elaborate Hollywood party. She picked up a cake, went hiking and handled a few errands around Los Angeles.
The Happy Days actress was photographed on Sept. 2 wearing a red baseball cap, long-sleeve blue top and black pants while stopping at a Gelson's market for her birthday cake, according to Page Six.
Purl also went on a solo hike before friends later joined her at home for a small celebration. The low-key outing offered a rare candid look at an actress whose television career stretches from one of the defining sitcoms of the 1970s to roles on Matlock, The Office, Homeland and Hacks.
Purl is still acting, touring as a jazz vocalist and recording music, and she is preparing to return Off-Broadway later this month while continuing the life and business she has built with fellow television veteran Patrick Duffy.
The photographs show a birthday that looked deliberately ordinary. Purl collected her cake at Gelson's, completed other errands and spent part of the day hiking alone before friends came to her home later for a small celebration.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Offensive linemen rarely receive much promotion or have preseason marketing campaigns built around them.
However, with three NFL draft candidates, the University of Cincinnati is trying to change that.
Left guard Evan Tengesdahl, left tackle Joe Cotton and center Taran Tyo aim to turn Nippert Stadium into the Football House of Pancakes. The trio anchors an offensive line that was among the best in the nation last season.
The linemen have been featured on billboards throughout Cincinnati, along with television and radio advertisements, ahead of Saturday's game against Boston College.
"They deserve the promotion. They were one of the top offensive line units in the country last year, and you've got a bunch of them back," coach Scott Satterfield said. "Most of the time, you don't give O-linemen much love. They never get to score, they don't get to make catches or carry the ball. They get their joy in seeing running backs score or blocking for the quarterback."

All last weekend, my kid told me that it was going to be Labor Day that next Monday. I kept telling her no, it was next Monday. I mean, like 10 or 12 times. Then I told this to the wife. She was very quiet, then asked "it's not Labor Day tomorrow?" Because she kept telling our kid it was, then I kept breaking her heart. So if you're broken hearted to hear that there's no game today, I apologize.
What is going on then? The Brewers and Cubs are kicking off shortly. The Cubs are 9 back of the Brewers, but they're not out of it. The Cardinals can complete a sweep of the Dodgers at 10 pm Eastern.
The mutant form of college football is going on tonight as well. Missouri and Utah look poised to devour their opening week cupcakes of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Idaho, respectively. That's going on at 7pm and 8pm.
Are you guys and gals going to the beach? Ima sit at home and broil myself. The next trip we take will be either to a sick relative's or to Atlanta for a playoff game. Hopefully, the family can pull through and the Braves can be victorious.
Do we want to debate what the Braves playoff position will be? I'm thinking the Braves might slide into that #2 slot if the Dodgers keep slipping up. Let's go take care of Philadelphia first.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli happy at Mercedes and he knows it is divided fan group with him leading and Ferrari doing well for Italian fans coming to the F1 Italian GP, as Lewis Hamilton chimes in.
When Antonelli arrived at the scene, it was not clear to everyone how well he could do, even though there was hype about him certainly. After how F1 2025 went, some enthusiasm dipped but midway into 2026, it is going through the roof for the Italian, especially in Italy.
When he went to pick up the Lorenzo Bandini Trophy earlier this year, there was massive stream of fans waiting for him. Even at race tracks, there is considerable growth in the numbers. In general as well, Italian fans are quite emotional about their sports persons and also teams.
Ferrari is at par with football if not larger, in certain sphere. For a top Italian driver to race for an Italian manufacturer is icing on the cake. The last to drive in F1 was Giancarlo Fisichella in 2009. It's been 17 years since and it will be longer than that as Antonelli is happy to be at Mercedes.
The Italian was taken up by the German team at a very young age and rose through the ranks, with Toto Wolff's backing. He is their prodigy, much like how Max Verstappen is for Red Bull and Charles Leclerc is in some ways for Ferrari. And for the near future, Antonelli doesn't see himself anywhere else.

Katie Holmes is putting her romance with Jason Bard Yarmosky firmly in the spotlight. The 47-year-old actress celebrated the New York-based artist's 39th birthday with a particularly cozy Instagram post on Tuesday, September 1, offering a sweet new glimpse at the couple after months of increasingly public appearances together. "Happy Birthday to the best of the best…❤️," Holmes wrote alongside the post, tagging Yarmosky.
The affectionate tribute included a photo of Holmes and Yarmosky leaning their heads against each other while holding microphones, apparently during a karaoke celebration.

Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, has built a public life that stretches far beyond her aristocratic ****** le. Born Emma Claire McQuiston, she became the Marchioness of Bath after marrying Ceawlin Thynn, the 8th Marquess of Bath. Raised around British high society, Emma developed interests in art, performance and culture from an early age. She later studied art history at University College London and trained in classical acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before pursuing a different creative path.
Food eventually became one of her major passions. At Longleat, the historic estate ****** ociated with the Thynn family, Emma created her food and lifestyle project Emma's Kitchen. Her cooking content includes everything from pancakes to homemade dishes inspired by life at the estate. The project allows her to combine hospitality, family traditions and creativity, showing a more relaxed side of life that contrasts with the formal events and glamorous appearances often ****** ociated with aristocracy.
Emma is also involved in charitable work and has supported Tusk, an organization dedicated to wildlife conservation across Africa. Her public profile has allowed her to draw attention to conservation while balancing responsibilities connected with family, fashion and Longleat. That variety is a major part of her appeal. One day may involve cooking or supporting a charitable cause, while another can place her in front of photographers at an international event.
Fashion remains another important part of Emma's career. She has attended the Cannes Film Festival, worked with luxury jeweler Chopard and appeared in elaborate gowns and jewelry on major red carpets. Emma has also walked in fashion shows for designers including Dolce & Gabbana and Celia Kritharioti. Her relationship with fashion has extended into ambassador and editorial work, allowing her to experience the industry from more than one perspective. Whether attending a premiere or stepping onto a runway, she appears comfortable treating clothing as another form of creative expression.
From aristocratic events and conservation projects to cooking and international fashion, Emma Thynn has created a career that refuses to fit neatly into one category. Her life at Longleat provides a traditional backdrop, but her interests have taken her into food, publishing, modeling and philanthropy. Rather than relying solely on her ****** le, she has developed a public identity built around creativity and variety, making an ordinary day in the life of the Marchioness of Bath surprisingly difficult to define.

The days of cakewalks for the U.S. women's basketball team are over.
Anyone shrugging at the news A'ja Wilson will not play at the upcoming FIBA World Cup, ***** uming the Americans are so loaded with talent they won't miss the greatest player on the planet, hasn't been paying attention. The world has caught up to the U.S. women and, even with a roster of All-Stars, the World Cup is going to offer a glimpse for players and fans alike of what's in store at the Los Angeles Olympics.
The World Cup begins Friday, Sept. 4, in Berlin, Germany, with the U.S. playing 2022 silver medalist China.
For seemingly forever, the U.S. women have dominated the international game. They've won an unprecedented eight consecutive Olympic gold medals, and nine of the last 12 World Cups. The last game they lost at the Olympics or World Cup — not the ***** le, just a game — was back in 2006, before Caitlin Clark had even started grade school.
Most of the U.S. women's wins have come easily. Games that were over by halftime. Games that were even bigger blowouts than the double-digit victory margins indicated.

Bella Mir had the full support of Dana White, and the oddsmakers suggested her audition for the UFC would be a cakewalk.
However, at Dana White's Contender Series 89, Mir (4-1) did not come through as the biggest favorite in the history of the show, losing by unanimous decision to Alex Apodaca (4-1). It was the first loss of Mir's professional MMA career, and it came in a feature bout with a potential UFC contract offer on the line.
White even admitted he was biased towards Mir, a rare admission for the UFC CEO. A win would have almost certainly guaranteed her entry into the UFC, but Apodaca (4-1) had plans of earning a contract as well, and did exactly that.
Now that Mir has had some time to digest the loss, she released a statement on social media. The daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir appears to be taking everything in stride, and vows to return better than before.
Read Mir's full statement below:

All good things have to come to an end. All things that aren't so great tend to also have an expiration date. So it is with great understanding and precious little passion that sports fans learned today that the NFL is eliminating the Pro Bowl Games.
Look, life is too darn short to be negative all of the time. But poll 10 people and at least nine will tell you they have had better things to do than check in on the Pro Bowl Games, a somewhat competitive replacement for the actual football game that had been held since 1938.
Still, it's the end of an era.
So often the phrase "addition by subtraction" gets trotted out in conversation. It's overused because it is hard, at scale, to take something away and have things be better. This is a rare case where the idea applies, though.
The NFL will still honor 88 Pro Bowlers with an announcement in late December. Gone is any need to scramble for replacements when scores of players pass on the opportunity to be part of the festivities. In lieu of watching these guys play patty cake on the gridiron or, uh, dodgeball, we'll get to focus on their accomplishments and debate who earned the honor and who was snubbed.

Super Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe took aim at Enes Kanter on an episode of his "Nightcap" podcast, accusing the former NBA player of "rage baiting" for attention. Sharpe, alongside Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson and former NBA All-Star Joe Johnson, questioned Kanter's motives after he was ejected from a WNBA game following a heated exchange with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud.
Shannon Sharpe and Joe Johnson call out enes kanter for his antics after he got into with Natasha cloud. He doing too much for a guy who was a role player his whole career . Him getting into with the wnba feels like he’s looking for his 15mins of fame https://t.co/zgLTSABUfJ pic.twitter.com/fr3ASLwoQb
Sharpe and his co-hosts wasted no time calling out Kanter during an episode of "Nightcap," saying the former Boston Celtics player only attended to draw attention to himself and make a ruckus. "He probably ain't never been to no WNBA game. Then go there just to be the agitator, just cause ruckus, just to make the headlines. Come on, bro, what we doing?" Joe Johnson said.
Sharpe didn't seem as annoyed as others, saying Kanter's motive is likely to rile people up so he can garner attention. "He's rage baiting. Then he's gonna run to Fox News and talk about, 'See, this is what I'm talking about, they're not inclusive. They wanna have their cake and eat it too' and yada yada yada yada yada," he said.
Sharpe didn't end there; the 8X Pro-Bowler even came for Kanter's ability to perform, saying if he "were good," he'd still be in the NBA. "His own home country don't want him back," Sharpe said.

There is no doubt that Real Madrid have had a very exciting summer transfer window, with the addition of up to six new players, and also the return of Jose Mourinho as the team's head coach. However, one aspect that might leave some of the fans not fully satisfied is the lack of reinforcements in the midfield.
The Merengues have signed a highly experienced and reliable midfielder in Bernardo Silva, but as Mourinho himself put it in a recent press conference, the signing of Rodri Hernandez, who ultimately decided to sign for Barcelona, would have been the icing on the cake.
Although Los Blancos were unable to land the World Cup MVP, they might still land another midfielder, albeit one who is significantly far below the level of the former Manchester City star for now, before the transfer window closes.
This possible signing is the Racing Club midfielder Sergio Martinez, who recently made his debut in La Liga and has been linked with Real Madrid in recent days. He has been enjoying interest from other clubs as well, including from Barcelona, Villarreal, and Atletico Madrid, but according to Diario AS, has decided to sign for the Merengue club, despite them offering him only a reserve team place for now.
The report claims that the move can be finalized after Martinez plays the La Liga game between Racing and Getafe this weekend. In his first game in the top division, he scored a wonderful goal that turned out to be the goal of the Matchday 1.

At this point, ESPN NFL **** yst Dan Orlovsky is just as well known for his peculiar habits, particularly his food preferences, and life-hack hot takes as he is for his football takes.
All the way back in May 2022, Orlovsky exposed that he will only tolerate birthday cake if it's "ice cream cake because normal cake is gross," much to the disgust of his NFL Live cohorts.
Then, in April 2023, Orlovsky appeared on The Dan Le Batard Show and flaunted his love for plain chicken. "For me, I'm just like, yo, just give me chicken, and I'm fine," he said. "I routinely just eat plain, grilled chicken. Not seasoned. Just give me a piece of chicken, grill it, cook it, and I'll just cube that up and eat it."
This all came back around on Monday's NFL Live episode, as host Laura Rutledge presented Orlovsky with bland chicken **** with a birthday candle stuck in the middle. Orlovsky turns 43 on Tuesday.
"I don't understand the gripe with grilled chicken," Orlovsky said. "I'm actually gonna eat it."
