The 2026 Indoor Football League playoffs are in full swing, with the conference championships to determine who gets to play in next weekend's ****** le game. On Sunday, it'll be the Tulsa Oilers vs. the Green Bay Blizzard, and the Arizona Rattlers vs. the San Diego Strike Force.
All postseason games will be broadcast nationally for free on Yahoo Sports Network for the first time after a historic regular season that saw the IFL surpass 4.5 million total streams and more than 30.6 million minutes watched on YSN.
After a heated race to the playoffs, which teams will emerge and advance to the IFL National Championship on Aug. 16? Read more on each matchup below.
After securing a dominant 73-59 win over the Orlando Pirates in the first round of the playoffs last weekend, the top-seeded Green Bay Blizzard will be back on their home turf, looking to dispatch the No. 3 Tulsa Oilers en route to the championship game. Tulsa, meanwhile, upset the No. 2 Jacksonville Sharks last Saturday in a close one, 31-28.
In their only matchup during the regular season, the Blizzard beat the Oilers 41-35 on May 16 — so these teams are not the most familiar with each other. Both teams boast members of the newly announced All-Rookie Team — RB Kairee Robinson (Green Bay) and DB Justin Harrington (Tulsa).

Shaquille O'Neal has been a staunch defender of LeBron James' move from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason, squashing any criticism of NBA's all-time leading scorer being a ring-chaser.
"The man is not chasing rings. The man has already gotten rings the right way," O'Neal told FTW and USA TODAY Sports. "Towards the end of your career, if you could join up and help somebody else get a ring and continue to get rings, I call it ring continuancy."
But one thing the Lakers legend won't do is sugar-coat James' time with the purple and gold. One championship was good, but it wasn't good enough to put him at the big table with past Lakers champions. "The good thing for LeBron, he did win one," Shaq said. "But you know, Kareem got six, Magic got five, Kobe got five, I got four, Rambis got three. So you know, he's at the party, but he's not on stage."
Below is our full conversation with O'Neal, including details on General Mills' No. 1 Biggest Fan contest, his thoughts on what's next for Stephen Curry and more.
This Q&A is condensed and edited for clarity.

Intermediate 50/70 Baseball World Series schedule 2026: Scores, times, channels to watch every game originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The 12th annual Intermediate 50/70 Baseball World Series begins on Sunday, Aug. 2, commencing an eight-day slate of action from Livermore, California.
Players in the Intermediate Division range from ages 11 to 13, one step up from Little League's Majors division and one step below Junior League.
The 50/70 name comes from its field setup: a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths, larger than the standard Little League diamond but still smaller than the 60-foot-6-inch, 90-foot dimensions used at the Junior and Senior League levels.
Last year, Flor Amarillo Little League of Valencia, Venezuela defeated Central East Maui Little League of Wailuku, Hawaii for the tournament ******* le, giving Latin America its first Intermediate 50/70 championship. Neither squad returns for 2026, as a new 12-team field looks to make its mark in Livermore.

The ACC in 2026 is a tale of two leagues. There's Miami (FL), a genuine national ***** le roster that our model loves, and then there's everyone else — a 16-team scrum where the difference between third and 11th is a couple of coin-flip Saturdays.
The coaching carousel was wild. James Franklin landed at Virginia Tech after Penn State cut him loose mid season. Andrew Luck is running Stanford as its GM. Bill Belichick's Chapel Hill debut flopped to 4-8, so North Carolina hired Bobby Petrino to fix the offense. When the story is this chaotic, the projection model earns its keep. It doesn't care who is on the cover of the media guide, only what players are on the field.
Let's break it down.
For our SEC betting preview, click here.
Miami is -135 to win the ACC and, for once, I'm not fighting the chalk. We grade this the No. 1 defense and the No. 2 offense in the conference, off a top-five national portal haul, a clear class of one. Our only quibble is the win total, but more on that below. The ***** le price is deserved.

Abdullah Shafique grabbed his chance in Pakistan's playing XI for the second Test against the West Indies in Port of Spain, scoring an unbeaten 160 in the first innings to help his team take control of the match.

Shafique, who replaced Shan Masood in the side, came in at No. 3 and remained unbeaten after facing 323 ****** . His innings included 15 fours and three sixes.

His knock helped Pakistan take a first-innings lead of 43 runs and also earned him a place in the record books.

Shafique became only the fifth Pakistan batter to score 150 or more in a Test innings in the West Indies, and the first to do so in 49 years.

The last Pakistan batter to reach the 150-run mark in a Test innings in the Caribbean was Majid Khan, who scored 167 in the second innings of the Georgetown Test in March 1977.

Only five Pakistan batters have now scored 150 or more in a Test innings in the West Indies.

The record for the highest individual Test score by a Pakistan batter in the Caribbean still belongs to Hanif Mohammad, who made 337 in the second innings of the Bridgetown Test in January 1958.

The highest individual Test score ever recorded in the West Indies remains Brian Lara's unbeaten 400 against England in St John's in August 2004.

During the ongoing Test, Shafique also shared a 183-run partnership for the second wicket with captain Babar Azam.

Babar, who returned as Pakistan's Test captain for the series in the West Indies, scored 88 from 147 ****** , hitting 10 fours and one six before falling short of a century.

Despite missing out on three figures, Babar helped put Pakistan in a strong position as the visitors moved closer to a win in Port of Spain and looked set to avoid a Test series defeat in the West Indies.

What would you do with $2-5 million?
Buy a reasonably priced home? Not in this market. What about paying off some debt? That's a reasonable idea. Set aside a little to wager on some college football? Could win or lose yourself some money that way. (It is Vegas we're talking about after all.) You could also buy roughly 2 million Mountain Dew Baja Blasts from Taco Bell if you are like me and love the Bell.
But, as one of our recent SB Nation Reacts Surveys will show, plenty of you would use that chunk of change to purchase the UNLV men's basketball team that is TOTALLY NOT FOR SALE if you ask Josh Pastner (again).
Forty percent of voters picked the $2-5 million range, which felt like a low-ball given how that is the going rate for some of college sport's most coveted players. How much can one UNLV men's basketball be worth? Possibly one whole Yaxel Lendeborg, apparently.
Thirty percent picked $10 million and up, which was what UNLV head coach Josh Pastner valued his team at when he jokingly said someone should buy the program, which started this fun hypothetical — one that feels all too possible with private equity and venture capital circling our beloved college sports.

Having pocket Aces cracked in poker will always be one of the toughest types of pain a player can endure, but it's even worse at the World Series of Poker. And for Texas poker pro Han Feng, he was dealt one of the worst imaginable blows at the worst possible time during the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event. With five players remaining in the action and a $10 million payday for the eventual winner, Feng was dealt pocket Aces, and the chaos came shortly after.
To make things even better (pre-flop) for Feng, 3-time WSOP bracelet winner Greg Mueller picked up pocket Jacks, while Lauri Saaskilahti was dealt pocket nines. Following a raise from Feng and a three-bet from Saaskilahti that would put Feng all-in, Mueller opted to fold his pocket Jacks in the big blind.
The two players flipped over their cards, with Feng holding an 80/20 advantage with his Aces over the 99 of Saaskilahti. Then things really got off the rails.
The flop came down with 3d 10d 8d, and Feng held the Ace of diamonds, while Saaskilahti was diamond-less, making the former a 93% favorite to win the hand. The turn was the Jack of hearts, giving Saaskilahti life with a straight draw and a 16% chance now, having seven outs, but he'd have to avoid a diamond.
As you can see from the moment below, the Queen of spades completed the miracle runout for Saaskilahti's and made for the ultimate poker dagger and a miserable bad beat for Feng.

In Bitcoin news today, Strategy (MSTR) has sold 1,638 BTC for approximately $105M, according to a recent 8-K filing with the SEC, marking six consecutive weeks without a single Bitcoin purchase and continuing a clear pivot away from the firm's historic accumulation strategy.
The sale is notable because Strategy has staked its business on accumulating, not selling, Bitcoin. Yet the firm has now sold Bitcoin on multiple occasions in 2026, signaling a meaningful shift in how it manages its treasury obligations.
This news comes as BTC USD trades for around $63,500, up +1.5% over the past 24 hours as the market digests this latest sell from Strategy. Daily trading volume for Bitcoin sits at just over $25Bn.
Saylor has come out to address this latest sell. He claims to have never sold any personal Bitcoin and that his 'Never sell' mantra referred to individual savings and not corporate stacks.
The 1,638 BTC were sold at an average price of approximately $64,000 per coin, meaningfully below Strategy's aggregate average purchase price of $75,419, meaning the company is realizing losses relative to its cost basis on each coin sold.

In the lastest Bitcoin news today, Strategy (Nasdaq: MSTR), Michael Saylor's bitcoin treasury company, disclosed the sale of 1,638 BTC for approximately $105 million in an 8-K filing with the SEC.
Proceeds are expected to fund dividend payments on Strategy's preferred stock classes – including STRC, STRK, STRD, STRF, and STRE – and to pay for repurchases of STRC preferred shares.
This is not simply a Bitcoin sale. It is a capital structure management exercise, with Strategy running a parallel set of levers – BTC monetization and reserve allocation – to service a preferred-stock stack that carries rising cash obligations.
DISCOVER: Best Meme Coins to Buy in 2026
Strategy liquidated the 1,638 BTC at an average of roughly $64,000 per coin, a price that sits materially below the firm's all-in average acquisition cost of $75,419. Despite offloading a portion of its reserves and now sitting on a $10.9 billion paper loss, Strategy remains one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin globally, and the $105 million sale represents a small fraction of its total portfolio.

Dogecoin (DOGE), the leading memecoin by market cap, is testing a long-term support zone that previously preceded one of its strongest rallies, raising hopes that its prolonged price decline may be approaching exhaustion.
As of Tuesday, Aug. 4, DOGE was trading near $0.07, down roughly 85% from its late-2024 peak around $0.48. The memecoin also remained below its major weekly exponential moving averages, confirming that sellers still control the broader trend.
However, Dogecoin is now approaching the $0.048–$0.063 range, as shown via the red zone below. This area is down about 30% from the current price levels, and it served as a major accumulation zone between 2022 and early 2024.
DOGE rebounded approximately 224% after testing the zone in June 2022. Its later return to the same support area preceded an even larger 887% rally toward $0.48.
The potential retest, which may come by the US mid-term election in November, raises the possibility of another macro rebound, particularly as Dogecoin's weekly relative strength index (RSI) may also decline below the oversold threshold of 30 by then.

Aug 4 (Reuters) - Spotify said higher marketing and development costs would hurt its profit in the current quarter as the Swedish music-streaming giant bets heavily on features powered by ‌AI to attract users.
The company also projected third-quarter monthly active users below Wall Street estimates on ‌Tuesday, blaming the weakness on product changes in emerging markets such as India and Indonesia that may help Spotify in raising prices.
"So examples would be sign-up changes, deprecation of old lower-end Android devices, carefully introducing some friction in the ad load with respect to increasing ad load and some limitations on our free tier as well," Co-CEO Alex Norström told Reuters.
Price hikes have become central in recent years to Spotify's push to prove it can convert its huge user base ‌into meaningful profit. The company has in recent months also leaned on AI to fend off startups built around the technology, such as Suno.

The Lakers spent this offseason spending big to revamp their roster to better fit around Luka Doncic and his preferred style of play. Austin Reaves returns as a secondary playmaker on a hefty new contract. They traded for Walker Kessler to be the pick-setting, alley-oop finishing big man Doncic prefers to play with. And they made a host of other moves — including parting ways with LeBron James — to bring in role players who should be a better stylistic fit with Doncic.
All of that only works if Doncic is healthy.
Which he wasn't at the end of last season due to a hamstring injury, he missed all of the Lakers' playoff run. In an email to fans, Doncic told them he is "100% healthy" now and ready for a big season.
Concerns about Doncic's durability were a key reason former Mavericks GM Nico Harrison traded Doncic in the first place. The Lakers have bet big on a more mature Doncic, 27, being in his best condition and staying healthy when it matters. He averaged 33.5 points, 8.3 ***** ists and 7.7 rebounds per game last season — when healthy, he remains one of the game's elite players and was named First-Team All-NBA (he only played 64 games, one below the league's 65-game cutoff, but was given an exemption due to "extraordinary circumstances" because he missed time for the birth of his child).
The Lakers looked to get Doncic some help this season by not only re-signing Reaves but adding ball-handling guards Quentin Grimes and Collin ***** ton. Expect JJ Redick to experiment with some three-guard lineups using that group, although the challenge becomes it forces Doncic (6'8") to guard bigger players, which can take a physical toll.

I am selling my house and the price is $504,999. After paying off this house I will net $400,000. Do I have to pay a capital gains tax as I'm planning to pay off my retirement home with the money I netted?
– Thomas
The answer is solidly "it depends," both in terms of whether you'll have to pay capital gains tax and how much you might have to pay. Let's talk about the rules around this situation first, and then we can get into some examples to see how they work.
The IRS allows single filers to exclude up to $250,000 of capital gains from the sale of their home, and married couples filing jointly to exclude up to $500,000, if they meet certain criteria.

Welcome to Day 5 of Denver Broncos training camp.
After back-to-back intense practices with the pads on, the defense came away with the upper hand in both of those days. The offense has made some big plays of their own, but they have yet to establish a consistent output against one of the NFL's best defenses. I hope to see that change a bit to help the offense find some measure of confidence and chemistry ahead of the first preseason game next week.
Scotty Payne will keep you updated from the live practice with posts below as I won't be fully back in action until next week either.

Teofimo Lopez takes some time to catch up and discuss his ongoing training camp as he prepares for a welterweight **** le fight against Rolly Romero. Here, Teofimo explains how he's taken lessons from past fights and has worked to improve on his deficiencies, and looks forward to demonstrating a better form in this upcoming fight. Check out some excerpts below.
"Well, I'm feeling like a champ. That's for sure. Camp's been going great. We got sparring later today but we just been persistent, we've been consistent as well. We're just focused on this one. My welterweight debut, I'm looking forward to taking over this division and it starts with Rolando Romero."
"I think that it's comforting [that I'm moving up in weight]. I think mentally, I'm there when it comes to the physicality part. And I just can't wait to express that on that night, fight night. So it's been great, I feel much better, and I'm excited for everyone to tune in.
"I think I'm going to fill out just right. I think what I did in '35 at lightweight, that's what's going to occur, if not better at '47 now with experience. So I look forward to it. No matter the reach…if [Pacquiao] can do it, why not Teofimo?"
"Punch output. The punch output is going to really distract you to really get in there closer and step in. So those are the things that you see with Pacquiao…The more you blur them, the more they're not going to notice you're actually creeping up on them at the same time. So those are things that we're really working on and looking to capitalize, for sure."

On Thursday night, for the first time in approximately six months, there will be NFL action as the Carolina Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals open the preseason when they clash in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. And while there is never too much to take away from this game (or most preseason games), and neither team is expected to be a top Super Bowl contender this season, there are some things to keep an eye on Thursday night.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the game will be the battle between the two "starting" quarterbacks. The term "starting" is in quotation marks because we know that neither announced starter for the game, which will be Kenny Pickett for the Panthers and Carson Beck for the Cardinals, is expected to start this season for their respective teams. But both men have something to prove.
For Pickett, who was a first-round draft pick in 2022 for his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers, every preseason is the window for the now-fifth-year signal-caller to prove he belongs in the league. He went 7-5 as a starter during his first two seasons in Pittsburgh, but the statistics were worse than the admittedly average record, and he eventually was benched and traded.
Since then, he has only started three games in the past two seasons and hopes to prove he can compete with Bryce Young for the starting job. If he wants that to happen, it starts on Thursday night in Canton.
Meanwhile, Beck was a third-round draft pick this year after leading Miami (FL) to a national runner-up finish, but he has some obstacles in his way if he hopes to be an NFL starter. But even though one of those players, Jacoby Brissett, finally settled his contract dispute with the Cardinals, he is still relatively unproven and inconsistent as an NFL starter.

Braden Layer and Kurt ******* eloch of the Allegheny football team were in attendance for the Presidents' Athletic Conference's media day on Tuesday. Below are quotes previewing the upcoming season for the Gators
Head coach Braden Layer on the end of 2025 building momentum for 2026
"Two wins over the last three weeks (of last season) doesn't roll over into our record in 2026. I think it helped us kickstart our offseason workouts. It built momentum leading into spring ball, but ultimately, I'm sitting here with a lot of other head coaches that believe there is a lot in front of us. There's a lot of reasons to be optimistic about the season. But until we run out there and play Anderson University in the first week in September, it's on us as a staff and us as players to come together. (Last year) only matters a little bit in the grand scheme of things come August."
Layer on returning eight defensive starters
"… That level of continuity really matters, at least in my opinion, especially in small college athletics. I think our front seven has a chance to be very formidable. … Drew Evans for the first time in his career got to focus just on football. … Huriel Calice has been a mainstay for us on the defensive line. He's shifting out primarily just to an edge player. … Obviously, you have Michael (Schanck) on the interior. You have (Matthew) Phillips, you have (Joshua) Guenther – you have a whole lot of guys that have accumulated a ton of snaps. And I think we're fortunate to bring in some potential impact players that are new to the program as well. … At the second level, Coltin (Colucci) does everything for us defensively. We were able to convince him to come back for a fifth year. He's kind of been the heartbeat of our team now for a while. … But it's not just him. You know you have Javi Edwards coming back, you have CJ Gissentaner coming back. I thought one of the best freshmen in the conference last year was Ryan Croston, who was our nickel. One of the best blitzers and pass rushers for us in our blitz package last year returns only a year bigger and better."

Earlier this week, Real Madrid finalise the double sale of Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios to Premier League side Fulham. Both players have reunited with ex-Los Blancos head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, and they may not be only players to swap the Bernabeu for Craven Cottage this summer.
It's no surprise that Arbeloa has expressed strong interest in several Real Madrid players. He's already landed Gonzalo and Palacios, but he has already eyed up further stars that he could be reunited with at Fulham, with one of them being midfielder Thiago Pitarch.
Fulham have been linked with Pitarch in recent weeks, but that was before the teenager suffered an injury that will sideline him until September. However, this has not deterred Arbeloa, with El Larguero reporting that a move will soon be made by the London club.
If Real Madrid manage to get a deal done for Rodri, it would be extremely difficult for Pitarch to get any minutes during the 2026-27 season. Thus, it makes sense for an exit to be sought now, although it has been complicated by his injury.
Nevertheless, if it is indeed true that Fulham are prepared to go for Pitarch now, it would make sense for Real Madrid to let him go – as long as a deal is agreed that sees them retain a significant sell-on clause and/or a buy-back option, given that he could very well go to another level in the Premier League. He will be playing under a manager that knows him well, so there is every chance that he does get better and better.

Sydney Sweeney has spoken out over the devastation caused by the wildfires in her hometown of Spokane, Washington.
According to local authorities, the fires have consumed more than 8,000 acres across Spokane County, with three main blazes destroying more than 700 structures. No deaths or injuries have been reported.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sydney put a spotlight on the news, emphasising that around 65,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.
"Spokane has always been home to me. It's where I grew up, where my family still lives, and where so many of the people and places that shaped me are," she began. "The devastating fires have changed countless lives in ways that are hard to put into words. Thousands of families have lost their homes, their belongings, and places of business, including members of my own family. This devastation is something our community has never experienced on this scale."
The Euphoria actress went on to note that she is supporting organisations including Innovia Foundation, SpokAnimal, Second Harvest, and Watch Duty amid the emergency. She also shared a link to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit that provides essentials for families and children.
"Unlike larger cities that often receive an overwhelming amount of national attention and resources, Spokane doesn't have the same spotlight," the 28-year-old declared. "If you're looking for ways to help, these are four organizations I'm supporting that are on the ground right now helping this community that needs us."
